THE ALTERNATOR MAY EXPERIENCE DIODE THERMAL FATIGUE FAILURE DUE TO CYCLICAL LOADS INDUCED BY ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC POWER STEERING.
IT HAS ELECTRICA PROBLEMS, SPECIALLY ON LIGHTS. THE REVERSE LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN THE CAR IS ON PARK OR TURNED OFF. THE NOTIFICATION LIGHT KEEPS STAYING ON EVERYTIME EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM IS ALREADY FIX. THE TIRE PRESSURES KEEPS ON GOING DOWN EVERYDAY.
I'M STILL HAVING, (BATTERY SAVER MODE LIGHT COMING ON). AND NOW I'M WORRIED ABOUT THE ("TAKATA RECALL"). I'VE TAKEN MY DODGE CHARGER BACK TO DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE TODAY, 11/16/17, AS THE (ABS) & (TRACTION CONTROL) LIGHTS BOTH WERE ON. AND AS I WAS DRIVING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP I TRIED TO SET MY CRUISE CONTROL AT 75 MPH AS I WAS ON I-77 SOUTH, BUT I COULDN'T GET IT TO SET AT ANY SPEED. TODAY 11/17/2017 MY REPAIR BILL IS $350.00 DOLLARS + A CAR PAYMENT AND HOPEFULLY I CAN GET HOME WITH THE ALTERNATOR ISSUES. I'M TIRED OF PAYING FOR SOMETHING THAT I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE ANYWHERE I NEED TO GO. ALTERNATOR FAILED DEALER SAID THAT THE CAR HAS BEEN IN FOR ALTERNATOR RECALL AND YET THE CAR STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE DRIVING WITH NO WARNING ALMOST KILLING MY SON AND THE PROBLEM AFTER DIAGNOSING IS THE ALTERNATOR I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM HAS TO BE INVESTIGATED BECAUSE I BELIEVE DODGE ARE REPLACING ALTERNATORS WITH ANOTHER DEFECTIVE ONES MY CAR IS NOW AT PRESCOTT DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME ALMOST $900 TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT IS MY OPTIONS AND THANK YOU

EVIC FREQUENTLY DISPLAYS "OPERATING IN BATTERY SAVING MODE" AND SOMETIMES WILL DISPLAY A SYMBOL LOOKING LIKE A "TARGET OR BULLSEYE" WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET AND HIGHWAY. OWNER'S MANUAL DOES NOT ADDRESS EITHER OF THESE WARNINGS OR SYMBOLS.
ON AUGUST 05 2017 WE WERE ON OUR WAY TO TAMPA,FL TRAVELLING ON US 41 IN GIBSOTON ,FL WHEN VEHICLE ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHUT DOWN OUT OF NOWHERE.NOTHING WOULD WORK NO LIGHTS,NO ALARM,NOTHING THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD.I CALLED TO HAVE IT TOWED BUT BC THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD THE AAA WORKER COULD NOT TO IT ON A FLATBED TOW TRUCK.THEY HAD TO HAVE A DOLLY LIFT TRUCK.THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT HAD I BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE.THE CAR GAVE ME NO INDICATION THAT ANYTHING WAS FAILING WAS RUNNING JUST FINE WHEN I LEFT MY HOME.THIS SHOULD BE A MAJOR CONCERN FOR THE MANUFACTURER THAT A VEHICLE WILL START JUST FINE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VEHICLE WILL JUST STOP ANYWHERE AT ANY GIVEN TIME.IVE OWNED A NUMEROUS OF VEHICLES AND WHEN IT COMES TO AN ALTERNATOR...

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LOST POWER STEERING, BRAKE FUNCTIONALITY, THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING MALFUNCTIONED, AND THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE SHIFTED INTO PARK. THE VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE PRESTIGUE CHRYSLER DEALER WAS CONTACTED, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY SAVER MODE HAD INTERMITTENTLY APPEARED ON AND OFF OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS, WHERE IT WAS CONTINUOUSLY INFORMED ( PER A AUTO SHOP THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE). THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER WHEN SHE OBSERVED MORE SMOKE AND OPENED THE ENGINE WHEN IT WAS NOTICED THAT SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR AND WAS COMPLETELY BLACK. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER (MCKAY'S DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM, 2020 FRONTAGE RD N, WAITE PARK, MN, 56387) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED....
ALTERNATOR REPLACED TWO YEARS AGO UNDER RECALL. CAR DIED AGAIN WHILE STOPPED IN TRAFFIC AND WOULD NOT RESTART. DEALER SAYS FAILURE WAS THE SAME FAILURE THAT WAS UNDER RECALL. DISTRICT REP HAS NOT APPROVED REPAIRS YET, IT'S BEEN A WEEK. THIS WILL BE THE 3RD ALTERNATOR IN TWO YEARS.

THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
IT IS REAL HARD TO TURN MY CAR WHEEL; I WAS TOLD IT WAS SOME ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. BUT I'M REALLY NOT SURE; IT CAME OUT THE BLUE.
WHILE DRIVING MY EVIC NOTIFIED ME THAT IT WAS IN "BATTERY SAVE MODE" .MY RESEARCH REVEALED THAT THIS IS EN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM INVOLVING THE ALTERNATOR. THERE HAVE BEEN 2 RECALLS FOR THIS DEFECT, HOWEVER, MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. I FEEL THAT IT SHOULD BE. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH DODGE ON 3-21. I THINK THEY SHOULD REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR AT NO COST. I ALWAYS BRING MY CAR TO RANCHO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE ON 8010 BALBOA AVENUE SAN DIEGO, CA 92111 REGARDING THE "BATTER SAVER MODE". I'VE HAD THIS CAR FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS AND HAVE GONE IN SEVERAL TIMES ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY/ALTERNATOR AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT I WAS TOLD AND THE "BATTERY SAVER MODE" STILL COMES ON. THE ISSUE IS IF YOU TURN OFF THE CAR IT GOES AWAY. I WAS INFORMED TO BRING IT BACK IN IF THE "BATTERY SAVER MODE" COMES BACK ON BUT IF THE PLACE ISN'T OPENED THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO DO SO. I WOULD LIKE THIS TO BE FIXED, MY CAR CUTS OFF AT TIMES WHEN I START IT AND DRIVE OFF IN THE MORNING WHEN IT'S COLDER AND THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR YEARS WHICH THIS WAS REPORTED TO THE CAR COMPANY AS WELL.

THE FRONT GRILL, FENDER, BUMPER COVER, HEAD LAMP AND RADIATOR ASSEMBLY, HORN, ONE FOG LAMP, AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY, AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSER AND THE HOOD WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V739000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED AND MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN HAVING A POP UP MESSAGE WHICH WAS STATED BATTERY SAVE MODE. I THEN REPLACED THE BATTERY FOR THE KEY THINKING IT WOULD HELP. WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 DODGE CHARGER SXT ON THE FREEWAY TODAY (11/02/16) THE ENGINE STALLED & I BARELY MADE IT TO THE RELATIVE SAFETY OF THE MEDIAN TO ATTEMPT TO RESTART MY CAR. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS, IT EVENTUALLY RESTARTED, HOWEVER IT STALLED AGAIN SHORTLY THEREAFTER ON THE FREEWAY & 3 MORE TIMES ONCE I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY. I JUST GOT IT BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP LAST WEEK FOR THE SAME PROBLEM (THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY "UPDATED" SOME SOFTWARE BUT COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM). IT IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP, BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SAFELY AVOID INJURY/DAMAGE IF THIS PROBLEM ISN'T FIXED & CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. EVERY WARNING LIGHT WENT OFF FLASHING, SERVICE TRANSMISSION MESSAGE, SERVICE POWER STEERING , AND TACH, AND SPEEDO WOULD DROP TO ZERO , AND I WOULD LOSE ENGINE POWER, AND POWER STEERING. I WOULD INTERMITTENLY LOSE POWER STEERING DURING THIS, AND POWER FROM THE ENGINE WOULD LAG ALSO. I HAVE A THREE MINUTE, AND THIRTY-FIVE SECOND VIDEO OF WHAT WAS OCCURING. I CONTACTED SOME MECHANIC FRIENDS THAT WORK ON INDIANA STATE POLICE CHARGERS, AND THEY THOUGHT IT COULD BE THE BATTERY SHORTING OUT. THE NEXT MORNING I REPLACED THE BATTERY, AND INSTALLED PROPERLY WITH POSITIVE POST FIRST. THIS SEEM TO RESOLVE THE DASH FLASHING SYMPTOMS, BUT I THEN HAD NO POWER...
