WENT TO THE DEALER FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE SUBFRAME ON THE VEHICLE IS RUSTED OUT AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. APPARENTLY THIS IS QUITE COMMON WITH THESE VEHICLES. THE DEALER I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO ACTUALLY GAVE ME PICTURES OF THE SUBFRAME AND IT SHOWED CRACKS AND HOLES IN THE SUBFRAME. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THIS. I DO NOT MIND PAYING FOR MAINTENANCE, BUT I BELIEVE THIS GOES FAR BEYOND MAINTENANCE. *TR
I HAVE MAINTAINED THIS VEHICLE EXTREMELY WELL. NO VISIBLE RUST ON BODY, VEHICLE APPEARS TO BE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. I TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE AND PASSENGER SIDE SUB FRAME IS NEARLY RUSTED IN HALF. I WAS SHOCKED BECAUSE IT IS NOT MY PRIMARY WINTER VEHICLE, AND SALT EXPOSURE IS MINIMAL. THE TECHNICIAN EXPLAINED THAT IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE RISK OF DRIVE TRAIN FALLING OUT WHEN THE ENGINE CRADLE FAILS TO SUPPORT THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. ALSO, THE CAR COULD BREAK IN HALF IF THE SUB FRAME FAILS. HOW CAN A VEHICLE THAT HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED, LOOKS AND DRIVES LIKE NEW, BE UNSAFE BECAUSE IT ISN'T STRUCTURALLY SOUND. UNUSUAL RUSTING OF THE FRAME AND UNDERBODY OF THE CAR. *TR
NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM OWNERS OF CHRYSLER PACIFICA (2004 - 2005). THE SUB -FRAME OF THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TREATED PROPERLY FOR RUST OR CORROSION. THE MOTOR MOUNTS TO THE SUB-FRAME AND IF THE SUB-FRAME IS COMPROMISED THE ENGINE COULD DROP DOWN AND DESTROY ALL BRAKING AND STEERING CAPABILITIES; AS WELL AS, CATASTROPHIC ISSUES INCLUDING DEATH. WHAT DOES IT TAKE FOR CHRYSLER TO REALIZE THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM. HOW DOES CHRYSLER ISSUE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEN RESCIND THE LETTER. CORPORATE GREED AT ITS BEST. THIS IS A "FAMILY VEHICLE" THAT WE AFRAID TO DRIVE BECAUSE YOU DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE SUB-FRAME WILL "GIVE-WAY" AND POSSIBLY KILL EVERYONE IN SIDE OR SOMEONE ELSE. CAN I GET SOME HELP!! PLEASE !! *TR
WENT FOR ROUTINE STATE INSPECTION AND WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE SUBFRAME HAS SIGNIFICANT RUST ON THE PASSENGER SIDE (ENGINE CRADLE). THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 125,000 MILES ON IT AND THE SUBFRAME SHOULD NOT BE RUSTED OUT. HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER AND ALTHOUGH THEY ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY IN 2010 WHICH INCLUDED MY VEHICLE THEY HAVE SINCE REFINED THIS TO VEHICLES MADE IN A 6 WEEK WINDOW IN 2004. MY VEHICLE WAS MADE IN JUNE 2004 JUST A FEW WEEKS OUTSIDE THEIR WINDOW. IT IS OBVIOUSLY A BIGGER PROBLEM AS THERE ARE TONS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS - RUST ON THE SUBFRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE (SEE FULL LIST OF COMPLAINTS AT NHTSA AND ALL OVER THE WEB). MY PACIFICA 2005 STARTED MAKING POPPING GRINDING NOISES WHILE STOPPING AND TAKING OFF PLUS WHILE TURNING. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE AXLE GASKET AND THAT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE BUT TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM QUICKLY. WELL COME TO FIND OUT IT WAS A ROTTING SUBFRAME. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR 2008 AND UP. I CALLED CHRYSLER BACK AND THEY SAID SORRY WRONG YEAR. I COULD HAVE KILLED MY FAMILY BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE THAT CHRYSLER WON'T ADMIT TOO. I ONLY HAVE 82,400 MILES ON MY CAR. *TR
WHEN TAKING THE CAR FOR AN OIL CHANGE, IT WAS POINTED OUT THAT OUR ENGINE CRADLE WAS VERY CORRODED AND RUSTED THROUGH. WE HAVE SINCE DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL OF CAR. HOWEVER, OUR CAR WAS MANUFACTURED OUTSIDE THE VERY NARROW RANGE OF DATES FOR WHICH AN EXTENDED 10 YEAR, 150K MILE WARRANTY ON THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS MADE AVAILABLE. THE BODY SHOP HAS QUOTED US $4000 TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE, AND SAID THE CAR IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN IT'S CURRENT CONDITION. GIVEN THAT THIS ISSUE IS SO COMMON FOR THIS CAR, IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED DRIVING ONE. CHRYSLER SHOULD BE FORCED TO ISSUE A RECALL ON ALL 2004 AND 2005 PACIFICAS IN ORDER TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE FOR SOME FAMILY. *TR
WENT TO GET MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA INSPECTED AND WAS TOLD THE FRONT SUB-FRAME WAS RUSTED THROUGH. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DISCOVERED SEVERE CORROSION ON THE SUBFRAME AND ENGINE CRADLE, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MANUFACTURER'S RECALL. THE RECALL NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,875.

I TOOK MY 2005 PACIFICA IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND THE MECHANIC DISCOVERED THE SUBFRAME OF MY VEHICLE IS ROTTING AND RUSTING AWAY. HE SAID THAT THIS COULD BE A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. UPON DOING RESEARCH, I'VE DISCOVERED THAT CHRYSLER IS DOING NOTHING TO FIX THE SITUATION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWN A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS PERFORATED DUE TO RUST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
JUST TOOK MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TO MY MECHANIC TODAY, 08/19/2014, AND FOUND MY UNDERCARRIAGE TO BE RUSTING. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD LAST ONLY ABOUT 1 MORE YEAR. OUR CHRYSLER PACIFICA ONLY HAS ABOUT 109,000 MILES ON IT. IT IS GOING TO COST WELL OVER $3500.00 TO REPLACE THE UNDERCARRIAGE. I AM A DISABLED VETERAN, AND AM ON A FIXED BUDGET. THESE COSTS ARE TAXING MYSELF AND MY WIFE, AND EATING UP OUR SAVINGS. WE NEED HELP TO FIND OUT IF CHRYSLER WOULD BE WILLING TO HELP US OUT WITH THE COST OF FIXING OUR VEHICLE, OR AT LEAST MEETING US HALF WAY. *TR
THE ENGINE CRADLE HAS COLLAPED AND THE MOTOR HAS DROPPED ABOUT 3". IT WILL BE FALLING OUT OF THE CAR SOON DUE TO CORROSION ON THIS PART. THIS IS THE EXACT PART THAT THE 2004 HAD ISSUES WITH. THE CAR IS NOW UNSAFER TO DRIVE AND NEEDS AN ESTIMATED $2200 REPAIR. THERE IS AN APPARENT DESIGN ISSUE AS THIS CAR IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE OTHERWISE. *TR
WHILE HAVING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE, THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE AND SUB FRAME WERE CORRODED AND FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. WE WERE ADVISED THAT CHRYSLER IS "NOT PARTICIPATING' IN ASSISTANCE FOR COVERING RUST DAMAGE TO ENGINE CRADLE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 84,500. *TR
WHILE GETTING OIL CHANGED, MECHANIC NOTICED PERFORATION RUST AND CRACKING DUE TO CORROSION ON THE ENGINE CRADLE. WHILE CHRYSLER HAD A RECALL ON SELECTED 2005 PACIFICA FOR THIS ISSUE, I CONTACTED THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE AND WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL. WITH MINE BEING THE SAME YEAR AND SHOWING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS WAS COVERED IN THE RECALL, I THINK THIS REPAIR SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE GENERAL RECALL. *TR
MY LOCAL MECHANIC WAS LOOKING FOR A RECURRING RATTLE IN THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL AREA, AND ASKED ME TO LOOK AT THE CORROSION ON THE FRONT SUBFRAME. HE COMMENTED THAT HE KNEW CHRYSLER HAD A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS FRAME AND THAT HE ALSO KNEW THAT CHRYSLER IS UNWILLING TO COVER THE COST TO REPAIR THIS INFERIOR PORTION OF THE VEHICLE. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF OTHERS WHO HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM ASKING NHTSA TO INTERCEDE WITH CHRYSLER AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO COVER THE REPAIR OF THIS POTENTIALLY FATAL FLAW IN THEIR PRODUCT, AND HAVE A RECALL ISSUED FOR ALL MODELS WITH THIS PROBLEM, AND NOT THE NARROW ONE MONTH MANUFACTURING WINDOW THAT CHRYSLER SEEMS TO THINK IS ADEQUATE TO COVER WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. *TR
THE SUBFRAME IN MY VEHICLE IS RUSTED OUT. CHRYSLER ACKNOWLEDGED THIS ISSUE DUE TO POSSIBLE SUBFRAME FAILURE THAT COULD CAUSE A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WHICH COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS ISSUED FOR 2004 AND 2005 MODELS OF MY VEHICLE AND THOSE WERE REPAIRED. I HAVE THE EXACT DAMAGE LISTED IN THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT CAME OUT IN 2010. HOWEVER I AM TOLD THAT BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT IN OCTOBER 2005 I AM NOT COVERED. I MEET ALL THE CRITERIA LISTED IN THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FOR A REPLACEMENT. NO WHERE IN THE LETTER DOES IT STATE WHAT MONTH YOUR VEHICLE WAS BUILT IN TO BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. THE FIX FOR THIS ISSUE IS COSTLY TO THE CONSUMER. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL CALLS AND SENT SEVERAL EMAILS TO CHRYSLER IN REGARDS TO THIS MATTER AND HAVE BRUSHED ASIDE WITH BASICALLY "SORRY ABOUT YOUR LUCK". *TR
THE 2004-05 CHRYSLER PACIFICA SUBFRAMES ARE DEFECTIVE, THEY RUST AND CORRODE TO THE POINT OF BEING UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE THAT BEEN REPORTED TO THE NHTSA BEFORE. A TWENTY YEAR OLD CAR'S SUBFRAME SHOULD NOT RUST AND CORRODE TO THE POINT THAT THE ENGINE COULD FALL OUT, MUCH LESS A NINE YEAR OLD CAR LIKE MINE AND MANY OTHERS WHO HAVE REPORTED THIS. FOUND OUT CHRYSLER FIRST OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY OF 10YRS 150,000 FOR PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN HIGH SALT USAGE STATES, SUCH AS MINNESOTA WHERE I LIVE. MY CAR QUALIFIED SO I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THE GUY SAID TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF IT UNDER WARRANTY. TOOK IT TO MCKAYS FAMILY DODGE IN ST. CLOUD AND GLEN ERTL LIFTED IT UP, TOOK PICTURES FOR CHRYSLER TO SEE, AND THEN TOLD ME MY CAR WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY. IN THE...

MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS WHAT APPEARS TO BE ABNORMAL CORROSION ON THE FRAME. THIS WAS FIRST BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION BY AN INVESTIGATIVE REPORT BY NBC5 CHICAGO. I HAD MY CAR EXAMINED BY A MECHANIC WHO TOOK PHOTOGRAPHS AND WARNED ME OF A SAFETY ISSUE RELATED TO THIS CORROSION. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO CHRYSLER AND THE FIRST RESPONSE APPEARED TO BE A "SCRIPTED" RESPONSE SAYING THEY WERE "SORRY ABOUT THE RUST, BUT THERE IS NOT RECALL", I HAVE SINCE ESCALATED IT WITHIN CHRYSLER. I WOULD LIKE TO OPEN A CLAIM WITH NHTSA SINCE THIS PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE FAIRLY WIDE SPREAD AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER, BEFORE PEOPLE START TO GET INJURED OR LIVES ARE LOST DUE TO THIS SERIOUS PRODUCT DEFECT. *TR

ADVISED BY LOCAL MECHANIC IN DECEMBER THAT RUST WAS DEVELOPING ON UNDERCARRIAGE OF ENGINE. AFTER NUMEROUS NEWS REPORTS AND READING OF INFO ON THE INTERNET OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE. I WAS TOLD SINCE IT WAS NOT IN THE WINDOW OF THE CARS THAT THEY ARE EXTENDING THE WARRANTY ON RUST TO 10 YEARS OR 150K MILES THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME. IF THEY DO EXTEND THE WARRANTY IN THE FUTURE THEY WILL LET ME KNOW. *TT
WE TOOK OUR CAR IN TO LOCATE A POSSIBLE LEAK AND WHILE INVESTIGATING THE LEAK, OUR REPAIR SHOP NOTICED A GOLF BALL SIZE HOLE AND RUST ON THE PASSENGER CRADLE ARM AND RECCOMMENDED US NOT TO DRIVE. AFTER RESEARCHING I HAVE FOUND WE ARE NOT THE ONLY OWNERS OF THE 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WITH THIS ISSUE. *JS

THE DEALER ADVISED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
I OWN A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WHICH WAS PURCHASED NEW. THE CAR WAS BUILT IN DECEMBER OF 2004. THE FRAME COMPONENTS SUPPORTING THE ENGINE ARE BADLY CORRODED, SO MUCH SO THAT THERE IS LITTLE STRUCTURAL SUPPORT LEFT ON ONE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. IT IS NO LONGER STRUCTURALLY SOUND. CHRYSLER HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THIS DEFECT IN CARS MADE IN A 6 WEEK PERIOD BETWEEN FEBRUARY AND MARCH OF 2004, AND AWARDED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY TO THESE VEHICLES. MY VEHICLE IS EXHIBITING THE SAME FAILURE MECHANISM AND CHRYSLER SHOULD ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS DEFECT IS A DESIGN AND/OR PRODUCTION FLAW WHICH SHOULD ALSO BE COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. *TR
STARTED WHEN BACKING AND TURNING WHEEL TO LEFT A CLUNK OCCURRED AND LEFT WHEEL FELT 'STUCK'. THOUGHT IT MAY HAVE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE EXTREMELY FRIGID TEMPERATURES OF THE SEASON. A SHORT TIME LATER I FELT CLUNKING UNDER MY FEET WHEN DRIVING OVER DIPS OR BUMPS AT ANY SPEED. ODDLY IT WAS NEVER MENTIONED BY ANYONE AT THIS CHAIN REPAIR SHOP THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS OF ANY CONCERN. I DID BRING MY CAR IN TO A DIFFERENT CHAIN REPAIR SHOP FOR A DETERMINATION OF THE CLUNKING PROBLEM AND WAS SHOWN WHEN PUTTING THE TRANSMISSION INTO REVERSE THE ENGINE FELL WAY DOWN THEN WAS SHOWN THE VERY RUSTED OUT ENGINE CRADLE AND GIVEN AN ESTIMATE OF $1800.00 FOR REPAIR WITH A USED CRADLE. I WAS HAVING MY VEHICLE INSPECTED AND WAS INFORMED THAT MY ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTING THROUGH. I CHECKED OUT THE PROBLEM ON LINE AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A RECOGNIZED PROBLEM WITH 2004 PACIFICA'S AND THAT CHRYSLER HAS OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY DUE TO MANUFACTURES DEFECT. HOWEVER THERE IS ONLY A ONE MONTH PERIOD (IN-SERVICE DATE) THAT APPLIES TO THE WARRANTY. YOU CAN PUT YOUR FIST THROUGH THE ENGINE CRADLE. ENGINE VIBRATES AND WE ARE CONCERNED THAT IT WILL FALL OUT OF THE CAR AND KILL SOMEONE. WE WONT LET OUR KIDS DRIVE IT ANYMORE AND CANT AFFORD TO REPLACE IT. IT IS APPARENT THAT THIS IS A COMMON SAFETY PROBLEM THAT COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY AND CHRYSLER NOT ONLY MADE NO ATTEMPT TO CONTACT BUYERS, BUT ALSO FAILS TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MANUFACTURES DEFECT. FRAME MEMBER SUPPORTING ENGINE HAS DEVELOPED SEVER RUST COMPROMISING THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA THAT HAS FAILED INSPECTION DUE TO EXTENSIVE ENGINE CRADLE RUST. THIS VEHICLE'S BODY AND UNDERCARRIAGE IS IMMACULATE EXCEPT FOR THE ENGINE CRADLE "K FRAME". I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY ARE UNWILLING FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS 20K MILES OVER THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO OTHER RUST ISSUES ON THE VEHICLE. AFTER DOING RESEARCH, I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT I AM NOT ALONE IN THIS BATTLE! I AM WITHIN 8 MONTHS OF THE PREVIOUS RECALLED VEHICLES FROM CHRYSLER FOR THIS SAME ISSUE AND I BELIEVE THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD EXTEND THEIR RECALL AS THIS IS A POTENTIAL DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT IS GROWING WITH THIS SPECIFIC MODEL VEHICLE. *TR
OUR 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING MODEL DID NOT PASS A STATE VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION BECAUSE OF EXTENSIVE CORROSION HOLES AND FRAME RUST. THE ENGINE CRADLE SUPPORT HAS RUST HOLES AND IS SEVERELY WEAKENED, AND THE AREAS BELOW THE ROCKER PANELS UNDERNEATH THE CAR HAVE RUSTED THROUGH. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW BY MY FATHER, AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED AND WELL MAINTAINED. THE CAR HAS ONLY 77,100 MILES ON IT, AND YET NOW IS CONSIDERED STRUCTURALLY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. RESEARCHING ONLINE, I FOUND THAT CHRYSLER KNEW OF THE UNUSUAL CORROSION PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE RUST PROBLEM BY QUIETLY ISSUING AN EXTRAORDINARY "EXTENDED 10 YEAR / 150,000 MILE WARRANTY" FOR PACIFICA MODEL YEARS 2004-2005. THEY SUBSEQUENTLY AMENDED THIS WARRANTY TO LIMIT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO THE FRONT ENGINE CRADLE ONLY (REFERENCE: X26, WARRANTY BULLETIN DATED MARCH 16, 2012), AND FURTHER REDUCED THEIR EXPOSURE BY ONLY PROVIDING THIS WARRANTY COVERAGE...

THE FRONT SUB FRAME THAT HOLDS THE ENGINE HAS A MASSIVE RUST HOLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IT STARTED OFF THE SIZE OF A GOLF BALL AND HAS TURNED INTO A 8 BY 3 RECTANGLE I HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR TWO YEARS AND THIS IS THE RESULT .THERE WAS A WARRANTY EXTENSION ON THIS VEHICLE BUT THEY ONLY CONSIDERED IT FROM THE DATE MFG 2/23/04 TO 3/31/04 A SIX WEEK TIME FRAME AS THE VEHICLES AFFECTED BY IT. VEHICLE WAS SUBMITTED TO AUTHORIZED NEW YORK INSPECTION STATION FOR YEARLY STATE-REQUIRED INSPECTION. VEHICLE FAILED INSPECTION. INSPECTOR CITED MULTIPLE HOLES IN THE "CRADLE" FRAME MEMBER SUPPORTING ENGINE, STEERING, AND SUSPENSION PARTS. "CRADLE" WAS COMPLETELY PERFORATED IN SEVERAL PLACES BY CORROSION, AND SHOWED SIGNS OF ADDITIONAL CORROSION WHICH WOULD ULTIMATELY LEAD TO MORE HOLES. CRADLE WAS JUDGED STRUCTURALLY COMPROMISED. WHILE IN FOR REPAIRS, OUR MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE OF OUR 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING AWD SPORTS TOURER 4-DR HAS RUSTED ALMOST COMPLETELY THROUGH AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITHOUT IMMEDIATE REPAIRS.
