the drivers seat adjusted ITSELF all the way in the reclining position and will not move back. It is a safety hazard ..difficult to drive....we have not had it looked at yet...we just purchased the car a few weeks ago from a car dealer.
THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT ON MOVING MY SEATS FAILED YEARS AGO. I'VE HAD ELECTRICAL LIGHTS/ GLITCHES IN THE DASH SHOWING PROBLEMS WITH THE AIRBAG. THIS PAST WEEKEND, I TOOK MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IN FOR REPAIRS TO THE ALTERNATOR AND WAS INFORMED THE CRADLE/FRAME SUSPENSION ON MY VEHICLE IS RUSTED THROUGH. THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THIS FRAMING SHOULD NOT RUST THROUGH IF IT WAS COATED PROPERLY AND IF IT CONTINUES TO RUST THROUGH, THE ENGINE BLOCK WILL DROP OUT. I WAS QUOTED OVER $2,000 TO PURCHASE A USED PART AND TO COMPLETE THE REPAIRS.
PURCHASED THE CAR AUG, 2014. PREVIOUS OWNER ALSO HAD SAME ISSUES. HAS BEEN IN SHOP SEVERAL TIMES, UNABLE TO PINPOINT CAUSE/REMEDY SITUATION. SEAT CONTROLS DO NOT WORK, REMOTE KEYFOBS DO NOT WORK, INTERIOR LIGHTS, HEAD LAMPS, NO ELECTRICAL FUNCTION PRESENT UNLESS KEY IS IN IGNITION, IN THE "ON" POSITION. WHEN SHUTTING OFF THE CAR, ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD LIGHT UP AND THE ONLY WAY TO SHUT THEM OFF IS TO PUSH ON AND THEN OFF THE HAZARD LIGHTS. THIS WILL CAUSE ALL ELECTRICAL TO GO OUT, INCLUDING THE HEAD LAMPS AND ALL INTERIOR LIGHTS. IF YOU DO NOT TURN THEM OFF BY USING THE HAZARD LIGHTS, IT WILL KILL THE BATTERY. WE HAVE REPLACED THE FUSES IN FOR THE SEATS SEVERAL TIMES. THEY WORK FOR A BIT AND THEN BLOW OUT AGAIN. THE MECHANICS HAVE GONE AS FAR AS TO REPLACE THE WIRING ASSEMBLY AND STILL NO REMEDY. I...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE FRONT BUMPER BECAME DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE SHOULDER AND NOTICED DAMAGE TO THE FRONT TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTO MECHANIC FOR REPAIRS AFTER THE INSURANCE COMPANY INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND COVERED THE BUMPER REPAIR BUT DID NOT COVER THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TIRES. ADDITIONALLY, THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE POWER SEAT ADJUSTMENT SWITCHES WOULD NOT FUNCTION. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE WIRING HAD TO BE CLEANED. THE WIRING WAS CLEANED BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE BUMPER DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE POWER SEAT SWITCH WAS NOT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
CAN'T RAISE THE DRIVER SEAT BACK REST AFTER IT WAS LOWERED TO MAXIMUM. *TR
ON FEBRUARY 9,2007 I WAS REAR ENDED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED WHILE DRIVING MY CAR AT AROUND 45 MPH. THIS RESULTED IN MY KNEES SLAMING INTO THE DASH AREA AND THEN FALLING BACK VERY HARD IN MY SEAT, WHICH ENDED UP LAYING FLAT. *JB
