TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED WHILE MAKING A TURN. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONSTANTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING, FUEL WOULD SPILL OUT FROM THE FILLER NECK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTICS, WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THERE WAS A RECALL ADDRESSING A SIMILAR FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V432000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM)), BUT HAD THE REPAIRS PERFORMED BY A PREVIOUS OWNER. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED. THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL WITHOUT WARNING, BUT THEN IT WOULD START RESTART. ON JANUARY 13, 2011, THE VEHICLE STALLED COMPLETELY AND DID NOT RESTART. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE POWER CONTROL MODULE FAILED. THE DEALER STATED THAT RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 06V432000 FOR THE POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM) HAD BEEN REPROGRAMMED IN 2007. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, THE PREVIOUS OWNER, WHICH WAS A RENTAL CAR COMPANY, HAD THE RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT MADE A DECISION REGARDING REPAIRING THE VEHICLE A SECOND TIME. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED, BECAUSE THEY WERE NEVER SHOWN ANY RECORDS OF THE REPAIR BEING MADE. THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE DRIVEN AT THIS TIME. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 105000.

THE ENGINE RESTARTED AND THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS REPLACED. THE IDENTICAL FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN THREE DAYS AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE CONTACT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V432000 (POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: CONTROL MODULE, TCM, AND PCM). THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,775.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT STOPPED FUNCTIONING. THE BULB HAD BEEN REPLACED FIVE TIMES. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SLIP INTO GEARS. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 54,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 86,584.

ALSO, THERE WERE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, BRAKES, WHEEL SENSORS, A CLOGGED THROTTLE BODY AND FOR THE PAST 18 MONTHS THERE HAS BEEN A POPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING COMPONENTS. THE DEALERSHIP MADE REPAIRS THREE TIMES, BUT THE POPPING SOUND EVENTUALLY CAME BACK. THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS REPLACED THREE TIME AND THE RACK AND PINION WAS REPLACED THREE TIMES. *JB
THIS IS IN REGARDS TO A 2004-2005 AWD CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THERE IS TSB 21-020-05 OUT ON THE TRANSFER CASE (PTU). THIS VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 40,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THE PROBLEMS STARTED OCCURRING. CHRYSLER RECOMMENDS REPLACING THE PTU IF MAKING NOISE. CHRYSLER WAS CONTACTED ON THIS PROBLEM BY THE CONSUMER, AND WAS DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE IN REPAIRING THIS PROBLEM. THEY SITE IT AS NORMAL 'WEAR AND TEAR' OF A VEHICLE. WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE ON A MAJOR COMPONENT ON A VEHICLE, THIS SEEMED TO BE AN EASY WAY OUT FOR CHRYSLER TO PASS THIS PROBLEM OFF TO THE CONSUMER. CHRYSLER ALSO STATES THAT UNLESS YOU ARE THE ORIGINAL OWNER, THE 75,000 MILE WARRANTY IS VOID. CONSIDERING HOW MANY VEHICLES ARE ON A LEASE, THIS WOULD BE A VERY LARGE NUMBER. PROBLEM #1: ABS LIGHT COMES ON. WHEN BRAKE IS PUSHED DOWN, GRINDING NOISE STARTS, AND BRAKE DOES NOT SLOW CAR DOWN PROPERLY. OCCURS DAILY, MULTIPLE TIMES. CAME WITHIN INCHES OF CRASHING INTO PEOPLE, PROPERTY, MULTIPLE TIMES. MECHANIC SAYS IT'S WHEEL SPEED SENSOR & EXPENSIVE TO FIX. WE DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY. PROBLEM #2: GAS PEDAL STICKS. WHEN CHANGING CAR FROM PARK TO DRIVE, GAS PEDAL WILL NOT GO DOWN. YOU HAVE TO PRESS ON GAS HARD, THUS SENDING THE CAR RAPIDLY FORWARD OR BACKWARDS, JUST TO GET IT TO GO. I PURCHASED MY CAR IN 2008 AND THE DEALER (SHEEHY FORD) WON'T EVEN TAKE IT BACK. THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON AND IT WON'T PASS INSPECTION. I HAD TO REPLACE THE OBD CONNECTOR AND IT STILL WOULDN'T PASS INSPECTION. TOOK IT BACK TO THE INSPECTION STATION AND IT FAILED BECAUSE OF THE OXYGEN SENSOR, REPLACED THAT AND TOOK IT BACK FOR THE 3RD TIME AND IT FAILED AGAIN BECAUSE THE MACHINE READ: MONITORS NOT READY. THE IDENTICAL FAILURE WOULD OCCUR IN THE REVERSE POSITION. THE GEARS DID NOT MALFUNCTION DURING WARM WEATHER. SHE HAD NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO-DATE. SHE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND A REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT THERE WERE NO TRANSMISSION-RELATED RECALLS WHEN SHE REFERENCED RECALL 06V432000, POWER TRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM). THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 49,892. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 49,700.

CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ADMITTED TO BEING A COMMON PROBLEM YET DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. THEREFORE, MY WIFE AND I REFUSE TO PAY TO HAVE VEHICLE REPAIRED FOR A MANUFACTURES DEFECT. FIRST NOTICED GAS GAGE SUDDENLY DROPPED FROM 3/4 TANK TO EMPTY, LOW FUEL WARNING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. FUEL GAGE WOULD AGAIN RISE UP TO FULL THEN DROP TO EMPTY. CALLED DEALER WHO ASKED FOR MY VIN NUMBER AND TOLD ME MY CAR WAS NOT SUBJECT TO RECALL. GAS GAGE IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING AT ALL & I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE IN MY TANK - I'M UNABLE AT THIS POINT TO AFFORD THE REPAIR. NEW PROBLEM HAS ARISEN, YESTERDAY AND TODAY MY CAR HAS STALLED, CAUSING ME TO ENGAGE PARK AND RESTART MY ENGINE. THE TRANSMISSION TOOK TWO SECONDS TO OPERATE, BUT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO REVERSE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A TRANSMISSION LINE LEAK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,200 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 47,322.
THE 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WAS BURNING OIL AT 1 QUART PER 1000 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP TOOK THE ENGINE APART AND REPLACED THE VALVE SEALS. THIS HELPED AND SLOWED THE OIL CONSUMPTION,, BUT DID NOT FIX IT. NOW THE CAR WAS STILL BURNING 1 QUART 1000 MILES, WHICH CHRYSLER CLAIMED WAS PERFECTLY NORMAL , ACCORDING TO THEIR POLICY. THE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THIS WAS NOT A PROBLEM THAT PACIFICA'S HAD AND SEEMSED TO BE UNIQUE TO THIS CAR ,AND A FEW OTHERS. CHRYSLERWAS STILL REFUSING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IF ALLOWED THE OIL TO BURN AT 1QUART. PER 1000 MILES, THEN AT 3000 MILES OIL CHANGE THE VEHICLE WILL BE 3 QUARTS LOW, LEAVING ONLY 2.5 QUARTS. OF OIL INTHE CAR. THIS WAS 2 QUARTS. THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT POPPING AND CLICKING SOUND WHEN ACCELERATING AND STOPPING. ALSO HAPPENS WHEN MOVING THE GEAR SHIFT. CAR SURGES FORWARD WHEN POPPING SOUND HAPPENS. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY SAID I HAD TO LIVE WITH IT AS IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR THEY CAN NOT FIX. SO NEED TO NOW WHAT TO DO. ALSO ENGINE STALLS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. THE FIRST TIME I WAS AT A CRAWL IN TRAFFIC, BUT AT AN INCLINE ONTO A BRIDGE. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THEN PUT IT ON THE GAS PETAL TO ACCELERATE AND THE CAR DIED. LIGHTS AND DASH BOARD ARE LIT BUT CAR IS SHUT OFF. CAR RESTARTED WITH NO PROBLEM. SECOND TIME, I WAS PARKING IN A SPOT THAT WAS AGAIN AT AN INCLINE. I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND STEPPED ON THE GAS PETAL...
WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND WAS ABOUT TO ENTER THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WHEN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILED. CAR WOULD NOT MOVE, NO FORWARD OR REVERSE. THE 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAD 1,077 MILES ON IT AND WE HAD THE VEHICLE JUST ONE MONTH. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY ADVISED US THAT REAR CARRIER GEAR HAD FAILED IN THE TRANSMISSION DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT (NOT PROPERLY WELDED). PART WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER.
