THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCM AND TCM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. WHEN THE CONTACT SWITCHED GEARS TO DRIVE AND APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IT BECAME EXTREMELY STIFF. WHEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED IT LUNGED FORWARD AND THE CONTACT APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO STOP. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY APPROXIMATELY TWENTY TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THE VIN WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, THE COMPUTER RESET ITSELF; AND ALLOWED THE CONTACT TO DRIVE TO THE DEALER. UPON ARRIVAL, THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE CAR AND COULD NOT. HE INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE PCM PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AND WERE ON BACK ORDER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO SPECIFIC TIME FRAME WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,800.

THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED; HOWEVER, THEY STATED THAT HER VIN WAS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 91,000.

PACIFICA ENGINE STALLS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. THE FIRST TIME I WAS AT A CRAWL IN TRAFFIC, BUT AT AN INCLINE ONTO A BRIDGE. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THEN PUT IT ON THE GAS PETAL TO ACCELERATE AND THE CAR DIED. LIGHTS AND DASH BOARD ARE LIT BUT CAR IS SHUT OFF. CAR RESTARTED WITH NO PROBLEM. SECOND TIME, I WAS PARKING IN A SPOT THAT WAS AGAIN AT AN INCLINE. I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND STEPPED ON THE GAS PETAL TO BEGIN DRIVING IN REVERSE, CAR DIED. BOTH TIMES I HAD APPROXIMATELY 3/4 OF A TANK OF GAS. I SAW ON WEBSITE THAT PREVIOUS MODELS HAVE HAD SIMILIAR ISSUES, SO DECIDED TO FILE THE COMPLAINT.
