DRIVING VEHICLE IT JUST POPS OUT OF GEAR AND WON'T MOVE. OFTEN SERVICE TRANSMISSION AND EMERGENCY BRAKE COMES UP. THE ENGINE DOESN'T DIE, BUT PRESSING THE GAS DOES NOTHING. I HAVE TO SHUT IT OFF AND SOMETIMES IT LETS ME PUT IT IN GEAR. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES FOR THIS, EACH TIME THEY SAY IT'S FIXED AND THERE'S NO RECALL. MY FAMILY'S LIFE HAS BEEN PUT AT RISK, WE WERE ON A BLIND CORNER DOING 35, AND IT JUST STOPS. TODAY, WENT TO LEAVE THE HOUSE AND IT WOULDN'T GO INTO GEAR AFTER STARTING, THE SAME SERVICE MESSAGES CAME UP. WE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO LUCK. AT THIS TIME, DEALER JUST SAYS TRADE IT IN.. THEY HAVE MY VEHICLE AGAIN AND WE HAVE A LOANER, BUT I'M SCARED TO PUT MY CHILDREN IN THIS CAR, IT KEEPS HAPPENING.

THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY SURGED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED WHILE REVERSING OR IN DRIVE. WHEN THE DRIVER REVERSED THE VEHICLE, IT BACKED INTO THE GARAGE DOOR TWICE WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION BODY VALVE, UPDATED THE SOFTWARE, AND MADE ADDITIONAL REPAIRS, WHICH DID NOT PROVIDE A PERMANENT SOLUTION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE NINE SPEED TRANSMISSION MODELS FAILED AND THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT TAKE ACTION TO ADDRESS THE SOFTWARE UPDATE FAILURE SINCE MID 2014. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED THE ALARM SYSTEM GOING OFF AND, UPON USING THE OWNER'S MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS, THE ALARM WOULD NOT TURN OFF. ALMOST DAILY MY CAR WILL STALL WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE WHILE DRIVING. I WILL BE ENTERING THE MERGE LANE ON THE FREEWAY AND IT'LL STALL CAUSING ME TO ALMOST WRECK. ALSO, THE PARKING BREAK GETS STUCK SOMETIMES AND WON'T GO OFF WHEN I PRESS THE BREAK AND BREAD THE PARKING BREAK DOWN.
THERE HAVE BEEN 6 RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE AND ONLY 2 HAVE BEEN CORRECTED BY MY DEALERSHIP. THEY ARE WAITING FOR PARTS TO CORRECT THE OTHERS. THE POWER STEERING PART HAS BEEN RECALLED SINCE NOVEMBER 2015, AND THEY ARE STILL WAITING TO FIX IT. I AM THE SOLE DRIVER IN MY HOUSEHOLD WITH A FAMILY AND ONLY THIS CAR. I CANNOT RETURN IT, I CAN NOT TRADE IT IN I OWE MORE THAN ITS WORTH. MY CREDIT IS ALSO SHOT.

TAKATA RECALL WELL I GUESS I'LL JOIN IN WITH THE REST. MY 200 IS JUST ABOUT A YEAR OLD. I HAVE JUST A LITTLE OVER 10,000 MILES ON IT. BEEN BACK TO DEALER TWICE WITH SAME PROBLEM. SPEEDS UP WHEN BRAKING AT ABOUT 35 MPH. THEN WHEN ACCELERATING ENGINE DIES AND VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN....THEN SPEEDS UP. 1ST TIME THEY DOWNLOADED AN UPDATE... 2ND TIME THEY SAID NOTHING WRONG THAT THEY COULD FIND. (ACCORDING TO DIAGNOSTIC CODES) I LIKE MY CAR.. LET ME KNOW WHEN THEY FINALLY GET A FIX FOR THIS. THIS IS ON RURAL COUNTRY ROADS MOUNTAINOUS AND HILLY. ITBIS DANGEROUS.
I WAS ABOUT TO TURN RIGHT ONTO THE STREET, WHEN I FELT LOSS OF POWER. THE CAR ETC, MIL, AND ETC INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON. TRANSMISSION GOES INTO STALL MODE, DOES NOT GO OVER 30 MPH, SPEEDING UP AND SLOWING DOWN AND SHAKING EXCESSIVELY. I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR 10 MONTHS. NOW IF THIS WAS TO HAVE OCCURRED ON A WEEKDAY I WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE FREEWAY AND THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT.
THIS VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS SINCE MONTH TWO, TAKEN IN MULTIPLE TIMES TO BE TOLD A VARIETY OF REASONS WHY THE CAR ISN'T WORKING. CAR STOPPED TWICE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, WOULDN'T START OR MOVE (WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR BOTH TIMES). CURRENTLY CAR WILL SPEED UP WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS, ALSO CAR TRANSMISSION THUDS INTO GEAR FEELING LIKE THE CAR IS LITERALLY GOING TO FALL APART. BEEN TOLD THAT EVERYONE IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, NO ONE HAS A SOLUTION. IN THE MEAN TIME THE CAR IS CLEARLY UNSTABLE, UNSAFE.

THIS RECALL HAS BEEN OUT FOR LONGER THAN 3 MONTHS. THEY SAID THE PUT MY NAME ON FOR CALL WHEN PART COMES IN BUT THIS IS DANGEROUS AS IT CAN CAUSE A CRASH AND MY YOUNG SON DRIVES THE CAR. AS WITH LAST REPORT CAR STOP SUDDENLY AND CONSOLE SAID TO PLACE CAR IN PARK. GLIDED OFF ROAD AND HAD TO RE-START. TOOK CAR IN TO DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS BECAUSE THE OIL WAS OLD. CAR HAS 3900 MILES. WHAT HAPPENED WAS EXACTLY THE PROBLEM IN R24/NHTSA 15V-470. SERVICE REP TOOK ME ASIDE AND TOLD A STORY ALL SHOULD HEAR. CHRYSLER KNOWS OF THIS ISSUE AND IS FIGHTING COMPLAINTS UNDER WARRANTY IF OWNERS ARE NOT CHANGING OIL AT "REASONABLE" INTERVALS. IT ALREADY HAPPENED AT THEIR DEALERSHIP WITH A CLIENT THAT WANTED THE ENGINE REPLACED. SO WORD TO THE WISE...HE KNOWS THAT CHANGING THE OIL IS NOT THE ISSUE, BUT WAS GIVING US A HEADS UP ABOUT CHANGING THE OIL SO NOT TO VOID THE WARRANTY. SOUNDS LIKE CHRYSLER MAY NOT PLAY NICE ON THE ISSUE THEY KNOW THEY HAVE WITH THE 200. SO CHANGE YOUR OIL AND...

SAME ISSUE AGAIN AS REPORTED ON 2/13/2016. CAR SHUT DOWN. COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND MESSAGE SAYS TO PLACE GEAR SHIFT IN PARK AND START THE CAR. AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME THE CAR RE-STARTS. THIS IS A COMMON TREAD WITH OWNERS OF THIS CAR MODEL. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE SAME MODEL BUILT EARLIER IN 2014.

A FOLLOWUP ON COMPLAINT #10826086. THE LOSS OF POWER TO THE CHRYSLER 200 MODEL IS ALREADY IN EFFECT FOR EARLIER MADE MODELS UNDER R24/15V-470. LOOK AT JEEP RECALLS 13V-175 AND 14V-438 FOR THE JEEP COMMANDER AND CHEROKEE. IT'S THE EXACT SAME ISSUE.
THE 200 HAS 3500 MILES AND WILL LOOSE POWER WITHOUT EXPLANATION. DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED ON CITY STREET AND THE CAR LOST POWER. THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND STAY ON. I DID SEE THAT MANUFACTURING DATES OF BETWEEN 1/7/2014 THROUGH 9/23/2014 HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER (PDC) PER R24/NHTSA 15V-470. MY CAR WAS NOT MANUFACTURED DURING THAT PERIOD, BUT SEEMS TO HAVE THE SAME TYPE OF PROBLEMS THAT HAVE BEEN REPORTED ON THIS SITE.

IN JANUARY 2015, I PURCHASED A 2015 CHRYSLER 200S FROM REEDMAN TOLL AUTO WORLD. I OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS AND IN MARCH, 2015 DURING A SNOWSTORM I WAS DRIVING IN THE VEHICLE WITH MY FIANCE AND 5 YEAR OLD SON. I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROX 30MPH IN BENSALEM, PA. 1.DELAYED/HARSH SHIFT FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR. ESPECIALLY HARSH WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS COLD. 2.VEHICLE LUNGES FORWARD WHEN DOWNSHIFTING RAPIDLY. FOR EXAMPLE, IF I WAS DRIVING 55MPH AND HAD TO STOP QUICKLY, AS THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WOULD THRUST/JUMP AROUND 3RD-4TH GEARS. IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE THE CAR IS GOING TO ACCELERATE INSTEAD OF STOPPING. 3.IN A SITUATION WHERE THE VEHICLE IS SLOWED, BUT NOT STOPPED, AND THEN ACCELERATED (SUCH AS EXITING A PARKING LOT ONTO A MAJOR ROAD), ONCE THE ACCELERATOR IS APPLIED, THE ENGINE RPMS SHOOT UP, BUT THE TRANSMISSION DELAYS DRAMATICALLY BEFORE UPSHIFTING, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO JERK. 4.AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 24-26MPH, THE TRANSMISSION JUMPS AROUND WILDLY BETWEEN GEARS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO JERK.
