2015 CHRYSLER 200 Engine Problems

I’m not sure but it will randomly die and have to be restarted there are times it does it more than others but every time is extremely dangerous because you essentially lose control of the car until it is restarted and it shift extremely hard sometimes like it feels like the transmission is going to fall out it jerks the entire car violently and there are numerous low voltage codes as well

I’m writing to report a recurring issue with the catalytic converter on my vehicle. I had it replaced less than five years ago after the original one failed, which ultimately caused damage requiring a full engine replacement. Now, the replacement catalytic converter is failing again. I’ve owned my car for 11 years and have always taken good care of it. I find it extremely frustrating—and financially burdensome—to face potentially thousands of dollars in repairs again for what seems to be a recurring, possibly faulty issue. I’m requesting that Chrysler investigate this matter and provide assistance or a resolution, as this does not seem like normal wear and tear.

The check engine light activated, prompting me to pull over immediately and have the vehicle towed. The diagnosis indicated a misfire, which is a known issue acknowledged by the manufacturer. However, the dealer has now stated that the vehicle requires a new engine, despite the absence of any prior warning signs. Refer to TSB 1022106 and additional service communications brought forth by Chrysler to NHTSA. There was absolutely no prior warning of this to me.

When not coming to a complete stop for at least 5 seconds and trying to get going again the car bogs down / hesitates almost feels like it has stalled for around 3 to 5 seconds then lurches forward and engine continues to rev even after accelerator has been released. For example coming up to a red light that turns green before you finish stopping, yield signs or slowing into a turn lane and trying to get across on-coming traffic. It is extremely dangerous and seriously needs to be looked into. I have seen several complaints about this. This is very common and needs to be fixed. This is also reoccurring problem that happens in these situations every time.

I took my car in to get my recalls fixed and they are not fixed yet they claim to be fixed on record. One is a transmission sensor and the other is electrical. Vehicle check engine light is constantly providing code P1065 and P1061. Have taken to the repair shop and the issue is low oil. Have to add oil between oil changes because the vehicle is consuming a lot of oil. It has been inspected with no oil leaks. Spoke with Clovis Chrysler and told vehicle is not under recall and I’m over the warranty range. Their answer is to replace engine. Chrysler needs to address this issue.

I had just purchased my vehicle on 03/06/2024. A few days after purchasing my vehicle, the check engine light came on. I was barely coming off of the freeway during traffic hour when my dashboard randomly indicated to shift into parking gear, which I did, and then the car turned off on me right before at the top of a downhill. My car cut off right as I was stopping at a stop sign. It wouldn't even let me turn off the car to try and restart. I couldn't steer the car either. It took a minute and then I was able to turn it off and then restart it. By the time I got to the third stop sign it cutoff again. The second time around it read to shift to park before restarting. Thank God I was in my subdivision! There was no warning or check e gone light on either. Please help! More importantly my airbag light is on again. The car gives an error message of "engine warming wait to start" It will not crank. I've spent money for a new battery and a starter and it wasn't the fix. Hundreds of other consumers have reported this issue in online forums and to the maker and still no resolve. They stopped production of the car for this reason. Something has to be done.

The seals on the bottom of the oil filter adapter housing failed, causing oil and coolant to leak out of the engine. The safety of myself and others is put at risk because if enough oil or coolant leaks out, engine overheating or failure will occur, possibly while the vehicle is in motion. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. It is a widely known issue with the 3.6L Pentastar engine and is well documented in 100s of videos on youtube by third party mechanics, dealer mechanics, and DIYers. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, as it is out of the warranty period. Warnings include low coolant and low engine oil. The skid plate under the front of the car was also soaked, causing puddles of oil and coolant to form underneath the car onto the ground.

Will not be buying another Chrysler ever.

This car is totally unsafe and is going to cause serious injury. When initially trying to accelerate this car jerks uncontrollably and doesn’t go. It stalls something serious then all of a sudden propels itself forward into traffic!!! Making other ppl swerve around me frantically. At 130,000 miles a oil leak became very noticeable. The rear main oil seal was destroyed. Due to the oil leak the front belly pan(68102931ab) became a dangerous hazard. The front belly pan became completely soaked in oil and was dragging under the car. Once the car was taken apart by the tech it was discovered that the oil cooling house (68105583af) was cracked.

Car stalls when starting from a stop. If the outside air temperature is below 50 degrees F, it seems worse. There are no warning lights, no codes...it just stalls out. It will usually start after trying once (It takes at least 20-30 seconds of trying to start before it does). I was pulling from a redlight to a 4 lane road when it stalled. I had no where to go.
