WATER WILL COME IN VIA THE VISOR AND DURING TEMPS UNDER 50- LITERALLY THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SIDE TO THE MIRROR I HAS A LARGE AMOUNT OF WATER BUILT UP LIKE CONDENSATION. WHEN IT RAINS HARD WATER ALSO COMES IN AND WILL DROP FROM THE SUN VISOR TOO!
CODE P26AB. COOLANT 3-WAY VALVE IS MALFUNCTIONING. CURRENTLY HAVE 50,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL FOR THE 2013-2016 RAM 1500 FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT FOR SOME REASON, THE RECALL DON'T COVER MY CAR EVEN THOUGH IT'S A 2016. WHY DON'T THE RECALL COVER MY CAR?
THE REMOTE START WILL START THE TRUCK WHEN FOB IS IN MY POCKET. PROBLEM---THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN MY GARAGE AND STARTED A FEW TIMES. THIS COULD GAS US IN THE HOUSE! I DID AN INTERNET SEARCH AND THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS. IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHEN PARKED IN THE PARKING LOT. WHEN IN A CLOSED GARAGE THIS COULD KILL A PERSON OR FAMILY.
I HAVE A LEAK IN FRONT WINDSHIELD SEAL, LEFT UPPER CORNER, NEVER HAD ACCIDENT, THE WINDSHIELD WAS NEVER TOUCHED PREVIOUSLY. IT ONLY HAS AROUND 14,000 MILES, MY CAR IS BARELY USED.
MY TAILGATE HAS OPENED BY ITSELF 4 TIMES RECENTLY. I CHECK EVERY TIME I CLOSE IT TO ENSURE THAT IT'S CLOSED AND LOCKED PROPERLY. EVERY TIME I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND IT'S FALLEN OPEN. THIS LAST TIME, I WAS HAULING A TRAILER AND IT OPEN BY ITSELF, GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE TAILGATE LANDED ON THE TRAILER TONGUE JACK AND DAMAGED MY TAILGATE.
SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE I NOTICED THE SEALS LEAK DURING PRECIPITATION. I REPLACED THE SEAL AROUND THE UPPER CAB REAR BRAKE LIGHT. THIS STOPPED THE PUDDLE FROM FORMING UNDER THE BACK SEAT BUT THERE IS STILL WATER GETTING INTO THE CAB SOME WAY BECAUSE I CAN SMELL THE DAMPNESS IN THE CAB AFTER RAINY WEATHER.
THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THE EGR COOLER (VB1/NHTSA 19V-757) FOR ALMOST ONE YEAR. OUR DEALER (LARRY H MILLER RAM) IN SANDY UT KEEPS TELLING US THAT FCA HAS NOT MADE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THE DEFECT.
COOLANT LEAKING. LEAK COULDN'T BE DETECTED BY ONLY EYES OBSERVATION UNDER THE TRUCK. IT'S UNKNOWN WHERE THE LEAK WENT. FIRST, WE REFILLED THE COOLANT, AND WHEN IT HAPPENED THE 2ND TIMES AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME OF 1-2 MONTHS, WE REFILLED IT ONCE AGAIN, ONCE THE COOLANT TANK WAS EMPTY, BUT ONLY THIS TIME, IT'S A SHORT PERIOD OF 2 DAYS. TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP, WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT IT'S A RECALL ITEM, THAT IT HAD BEEN REPORTED SOME OF THE RAM 1500 HAD MYSTERIOUS COOLANT LEAKED. THEY HAD NO IDEA WHERE THE COOLANT GO, THEY SAID IT'S NOT "SAFE" TO DRIVE THE TRUCK. NOW MY TRUCK HAD BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR 1.5 MONTHS AND WAS TILL BEING TOLD THAT THE PART HAD NOT ARRIVED. WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY RECALL WARNING FROM CHRYSLER. LUCKILY THE COOLANT WARNING SIGN IS WORKING. OTHERWISE, WE WON'T BE...
IN JAN. 2020 I WAS TRAVELING FROM VALDEZ, AK TO WASILLA, AK WHEN A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON FOR THE DEF SYSTEM. THE DEF WAS FROZEN. I WAS FAIRLY CLOSE TO A FRIENDS HOUSE SO I STOPPED THERE AND WE PULLED THE TRUCK INTO THE GARAGE TO THAW. ONCE IT THAWED THE WARNING WENT AWAY AND THE TRUCK WORKED FINE. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD A VIBRATION SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN 2018. THE VIBRATION COMES AT ABOUT 45 MPH AND CONTINUES AS YOU GO UP IN SPEED. HAD THE DEALER LOOK INTO IT WITH NO LUCK, EXCEPT CHANGING MULTIPLE PARTS FOR NO BENEFIT. I REPLACED THE STOCK WHEELS FOR ANOTHER SET OF NEW WHEELS HOPING FOR THE VIBRATION TO GO AWAY AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE VIBRATION WITH MULTIPLE ALIGNMENTS AND ROAD FORCE BALANCING. WITH ALL BEING UNSUCCESSFUL, THE NEW WHEELS DID NOT HELP. SO THEN I CHANGED THE TIRES. STILL, NO DIFFERENCE IN THE RIDE. IT WAS JUST RECENTLY BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS SENT OUT FOR THE 3.0 ECODIESEL TO CHANGE THE TYPE/SPECIFICATION OF OIL AND TO GO AGAINST WHAT THE OWNERS MANUAL STATES BECAUSE THE MANUAL IS WRONG. IT CALLS FOR AN OIL THAT IS TO LIGHT BREAKS DOWN MOLECULAR WEIGHT TOO QUICKLY AND TRUCKS AND JEEPS ALIKE EQUIPED WITH THE ECODIESEL HAVE BEEN HAVING CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO PREMATURE ENGINE WEAR ON INTERNAL COMPONENTS. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO PUT 5W40 IN INSTEAD. THIS IS FIRST AND FOREMOST TRUE I DID RESEARCH AND CONFIRMED THAT THE CHANGE WAS MADE BUT NEVER MADE PUBLIC TO THE OWNERS LIKE THE CURRENT CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS WAS. I HEARD TICKING COMING FROM THE MOTOR FOLLOWED BY A LOUD POP AND THEN LOST ALL POWER NO GAS RESPONSE AND COASTED TO BREAKDOWN LANE JUST BARLEY GOT MI WIFE OUT OF THE TRUCK AND THE TRUCK WAS FULLY ELGUFFED.

AFTER FCA COMPLETED THE EMISSIONS RECALL ON MY 2016 RAM THE TRUCK NOW DOES NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC. THIS IS CAUSED SEVERAL ISSUES WHEN TRYING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC OR ONTO THE INTERSTATE. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF AN UNKNOWN VAN AS A RESULT THE VAN SPUN AND CRASHED BACK INTO THE REAR DRIVER SIDE PANEL OF THE CONTACTS VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. 2016 RAM 1500 4WD SHAKES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 60+ MPH. STARTED HAPPENING AFTER ABOUT 30,000 MILES AND THE TRUCK NOW HAS 75000. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY POSTS/BLOGS ONLINE ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THE SHAKING COMES AND GOES ABOUT EVERY 1/2 MILE. WILL RIDE FAIRLY SMOOTH THEN IT REALLY STARTS SHAKING AND FEELS LIKE IT IS UNDER THE CENTER OF THE TRUCK. IT DOES NOT AFFECT THE STEERING WHEEL. TRUCK WAS RUNNING FINE WITH NO ISSUES UNTIL THE EMISSIONS V08 RECALL. TRUCK NOW HAS A SIGNIFICANT LAG WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. IT TYPICALLY HAPPENS WHEN TURNING (PULLING OUT FROM A STOPPED POSITION). IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED US TO GET IN TO TWO DIFFERENT ACCIDENTS DUE TO LACK OF ACCELERATION. MY WHOLE FAMILY WAS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME. I REFUSE TO LET MY CHILDREN RIDE AS PASSENGERS NOW BECAUSE IT IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK. THE ACCELERATION DELAY/LAG IS TRULY A LIFE-SAFETY ISSUE AND WILL CAUSE A LIFE-THREATENING ACCIDENT. IN ADDITION TO THE SIGNIFICANT DELAYS IN ACCELERATION (ESPECIALLY WHEN "COLD" AND WHEN MERGING ONTO TRAFFIC), THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HAVE BEEN ALTERED TO BE UNRESPONSIVE AND SIGNIFICANTLY HINDER PERFORMANCE. THIS VIBRATION FEELS LIKE IT COULD BE THE DRIVESHAFT OR TRANSMISSION. DOESN'T MATTER HOW FAST I'M GOING, AS SOON AS I LET OFF THE GAS AND THE TRUCK BEGINS TO DOWNSHIFT I START FEELING THE VIBRATION ONCE I PRESS THE GAS TO ACCELERATE AGAIN IT'S FEELS LIKE THE WHOLE BOTTOM OF THE TRUCK IS VIBRATING BROUGHT THE GAS PEDAL AS IF I'M RIDING ON A RUMBLE STRIP. I LITERALLY HAVE TO ALMOST FLOOR IT FOR THE VIBRATION TO GO AWAY.

ALSO WITH THE HORN NOT WORKING I FEEL IT'S A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS SAME ISSUE ON PREVIOUS YEAR MODELS. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE LIGHTS ON THE EVIC AND CRUISE CONTROL SWITCHES DON'T ILLUMINATE EITHER. BY GOOGLING THE ISSUE IT SEEMS THERE ARE NUMEROUS OTHER RAM 1500 OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I FEEL THESE ARE ALL MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED.
WHEN I AM APPROACHING A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, I APPLY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES. AS THE VEHICLE IS COMING TO A STOP, IT SOMETIMES LUNGES FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY AS IF I HAVE BEEN REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO SEPARATE DEALERSHIPS FOR THIS HAZARDOUS CONDITION. BOTH TIMES THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM EXISTS. BOTH TIMES THEY UPDATED THE COMPUTER AND CLAIMED IT WAS FIXED. I MENTIONED TO THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH THE WOBBLE, WHICH BECAME A CONVERSATION WHICH QUICKLY BECAME AVOIDED BY TWO PEOPLE THAT WERE TECHNICIANS. THE PROBLEM HAS BECOME MORE TROUBLESOME NOW THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT AND DRINKS IN THE DRINK ARE A CONSTANT SHAKE! THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF THE OWNER'S MANUAL TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
DRIVERS SIDE WIDOWS CLIPS BREAK WHEN WINDOW IS COLD IN WINTER. WINDOW DOES NOT GO UP OR DOWN. DEALER INDICATED THEY HAVE SEEN THIS QUITE A BIT ON OTHER 2016 RAM 1500. I ASKED IF THEY ARE GOING ISSUE A RECALL TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID PROBABLY NOT SINCE IT'S ONLY IN THE WINTER AND ONLY IMPACTS COLD WEATHER VEHICLES. WHEN ASKED WHAT TO DO TO FIX IT THEY SAID DON'T USE THE WINDOW WHEN IT'S COLD. POOR DESIGN ON 2016 WINDOW MOTOR AND WON'T ISSUE A FIX. SHOTTY ENGINEERING AND PRODUCT UPLIFT.
THE VEHICLE HAS AN UPGRADED 32 GALLON FUEL TANK, HOWEVER ON E WITH THE FUEL LIGHT ON THE VEHICLE ONLY TAKES 24 GALLONS MAXIMUM. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THIS IS A SOFTWARE ISSUE WHICH HAS NO FIX AT THE MOMENT. THE DEALER CLAIMS THE SOFTWARE STILL READS THE 26 GALLON STANDARD FUEL TANK.
THE TRUCK WAS PUT INTO PARK WITH THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND THE ENGINE RUNNING. IT WAS PARKED IN A RESTAURANT PARKING LOT. THEN AROUND FIVE MINUTES LATER, IT WENT INTO REVERSE AND BEGAN ROLLING BACKWARDS. IT SEEMED TO ACCELERATE. I HAD TO JUMP IN AND SLAM ON THE BRAKE TO STOP IT. I DO NOT KNOW HOW THIS COULD OCCUR, BUT HAVE RECENTLY LEARNED OF RECALLS FOR SIMILAR SITUATION WITH THE TRUCK IN THE PARKED POSITION, BUT GOING INTO GEAR. OUR VIN WAS NOT RECALLED. THERE WERE WITNESSES TO THIS EVENT.
THE THREE WAY COOLANT VALVE FAILED. CAR HAS ABOUT 59000 MILES. I NOTE A REVIEW OF THE INTERNET REVEALS THAT THIS PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON AND CERTAINLY SHOULD NOT HAPPEN IN SUCH LOW MILES. THE VALVE PROBLEM APPEARS ONGOING. IN 2013 THERE WAS A RECALL FOR RAM TRUCKS FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE. CLEARLY IT HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. SYSTEMS CAN FAIL AND WINDSHIELD DEFROSTERS WILL NOT WORK CREATING AN EXTREME HAZARD DURING DRIVING.
