The electronic power steering suddenly stopped working while I was turning and I almost got in an accident, then the power steering suddenly came back again while I was turning and since it wasnt working I was having to use a lot of force to turn it so when it came back on the steering wheel turned very quickly and I ended up in the ditch. Luckily no one was hurt this could have been very bad. Yes it is available for inspection. The safety of a lot of people were at risk. This is a recall on other 2013-2015 Dodge Ram 1500's, ours however doesnt match the serial numbers of the recalled ones even though it is obviously affected by the same issue. Truck says service electric brake system.
Electronic power steering. My steering will go out while driving and I have to pull over, turn the truck off and turn it back on. The power steering will stop working without any notice and has almost cause FATAL accidents if I were not able to recover in time. Last time I brought the truck in to get looked at i was told nothing was wrong drive safe.... which is impossible now cause my power steering randomly fails on this truck. There is no warning or anything that pops up until it is too late. This happens at any time between 0-85 MPH and if im in a turn or going straight.
The car is not breaking or driving and dangerous at times. Was taken to deer and the abs computer module was the issue. It’s been 4 months every abs module they’ve gotten from the company is programmed wrong. I went through 3. No parts are available nationwide. Hundreds if not thousands of dodge ram truck owners have the same parts issue the abs module stops working and cannot find another. Dodge has done nothing to address the situation the dealers are being forced to go on eBay and junkyards to get these modules - if dodge knows the part is breaking down in 70-80% of its cars after only 30-120k in miles have been put in they should have a recall and capability to manufacture said part.
The airbag light turns on and beeps. The truck is available for inspection. A dealership told us it was the sensors that have gone bad. It is odd that all the sensors would go bad all at one time. Concern is if there is an accident, the air bags will not go off as intended. There is also concern that the airbags could go off while driving. Also it is beeping often while driving and it is distracting. There are no other issues. But we see that there has been recalls in the past over airbag systems on this truck. We are very concerned since the truck carries very precious cargo.
FOUND THAT WHILE DRIVING THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WILL GO BLANK. ALL GUAGES DROP OUT. AS THIS HAPPENS THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL RUN. SOMETIMES LAST ONLY A FEW SECONDS. OTHER TIMES I HAVE TO RESTART THE TRUCK TO GET THE CLUSTER BACK.
Rack opinion according to Dodge dealership mechanics need replacing. I was told by another professional mechanic that the sway bar and tire rods need to be replaced. Will you all please search for Recalls N complaints. I will have the racken opinion work done because of the Safety issues that are at hand. Also anticipating sway bar n tire rod and front end work to Ensure that we are safe in the vehicle. Thank you!Safety First!
Revision "N" of the Body Control Module (BCM) is defective and causes the door auto door locks to not lock correctly by either either the key fob or the interior lock buttons. This results in the doors not locking and children can open the doors while driving at any speed. I was driving down the interstate and started to see flames and smoke coming from my hood. I pulled over and was able to put out the fire. The fire department showed up and determined that the fire started from the fuel injector system.
The TIPM failed, & has been failing The vehicle just died in a traffic lane. There were no warnings or ability to avoid any incident that could happen from being stranded in a travel lane. Being stuck in a travel lane is extremely dangerous. The part is not inspectable, Ram seen fit to create an issue with the design of the TIPM that can easily be avoided. The vehicle gives no warning
Air bag light came up. Headed to nearest mechanic he said there was a recall on airbags for this type of vehicle. Made an appointment on dealer. On my way engine light came up and vehicle started shaking
Electrical Power Steering (EPS) light turned on. Car is not drivable at this time. I understand that there is a known defect with the EPS in this make and model of the year.
The fuel level gauge/sensor has failed 3 times now, making it impossible to know the fuel level when driving. It was repaired in January 2019, and again in July 2019, and failed again in August 2020 and remains broken due to the ridiculously high repair cost. This is a common problem with Ram pickups and should be a recall. When the fuel gauge fails the check engine light comes on and stays on until cleared by a technician. This is a safety hazard because the driver has no way of knowing how much fuel is actually in the tank and could easily end up with the driver being stranded on a busy interstate or in a dangerous situation.
My side boxes do not open with key button and do not unlock with button on key and my bolts broke on exhaust manifold on drivers side and passenger side 4 bolts total
MY POWER STEERING MOMENTARILY LOCKED UP YESTERDAY AND THEN AGAIN TODAY DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS TURNING THE WHEEL SHARPLY. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE HYDRAULIC POWER STEERING PUMP, BELT, OR FLUID UNTIL I LOOKED INTO IT AND FOUND IT WAS ELECTRONIC AND THERE HAS BEEN SIMILAR ISSUES WITH OTHER VEHICLES OF THE SAME MAKE AND THERE WERE SAFETY RECALLS FOR OTHER RAM TRUCKS WITH DIFFERENT EPS PART NUMBERS. I THOUGHT FOR SURE MINE WOULD BE ON THE LIST BUT WAS NOT.

RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO RAM 1500S TO INCLUDE ALL FOURTH GENERATION MODELS, 2013-2019. WHILE DRIVING EXPERIENCED LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THIS PROBLEM WOULD RESOLVE BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE TO REGAIN NORMAL POWER STEERING. POWER STEERING LOSS WAS INTERMITTENT THEN BECAME MORE FREQUENT TILL COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHICH COULD NOT BE RESOLVED BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE.

RADIO LOCK UP NO MORE ACCS TO ANY DEVISES EX CAMRA RADIO TEMP CONTRLE ETC
BCM MODULE THAT CONTROLS AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS ONLY LOCKS THE DRIVERS DOOR AND THE TAILGATE. PUSHING THE KEY FOB WILL UNLOCK ALL DOORS BUT WILL ONLY LOCK THE DRIVERS DOOR AND TAILGATE. MANY PEOPLE ON THE RAM FORUM REPORT THE SAME ISSUE. IT'S A PROBLEM BECAUSE I CAN'T LOCK THE DOORS AND KEEP MY KIDS INSIDE WITH THE CHILD SAFETY LOCKS ON. UNLESS I GET OUT OF THE CAR OR REACH OVER AND BEHIND ME TO LOCK THEM MANUALLY. PRESSING THE DOOR SWITCH ON EITHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WILL NOT LOCK THE OTHER THREE PASSENGER DOORS OR TAILGATE. THIS IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE FOR US IF SOMEONE WERE TO TRY AND CARJACK US BECAUSE THE DOORS WON'T LOCK.
THE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT IS FAULTY. IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED AND RECONNECTED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE HEADLIGHT CONTINUE TO TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. IF IT'S UNPLUGGED AND RECONNECTED IT WILL WORK FOR A WHILE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AMONGST RAM OWNERS BASED ON MY INTERNET RESEARCH. I CAN'T BELIEVE RAM HAS NOT ALREADY ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS AS THEY SHOULD KNOW, BASED ON THEIR REPAIRS, THAT THIS WIRING HARNESS IS FAULTY.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT WAS ALSO INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT REACHED OUT TO POMOCO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM OF NEWPORT NEWS (12629 JEFFERSON AVE, NEWPORT NEWS, VA 23602) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,000.

THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO USE THE REPLACEMENT KEYFOB HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I TRIED THIS ONCE AND LOST IT DOWNLOADING A PICTURE. I HAD A PROBLEM PUTTING GAS IN MY TRUCK. IT KEPT MAKING THE GAS PUMP POP. EVENTUALLY IT TOOK 30-40 MIN TO GET GAS IN IT. I STARTED USING A 5 GALLON GAS CAN TO GET GAS IN IT. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND IT COST OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS TO FIX. ALSO I HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY TAILGATE OPENING WHILE I WAS DRIVING, ONE OF THE TIMES A TRAILER WAS ATTACHED AND IT OPENED AN HIT THE HITCH AND DENTED IT MAKING IT HARD TO OPEN IT. ONE DAY I STOPPED AT A BUSINESS ON JOPPA RD IN PERRY HALL TO PICK UP 2 LAWNMOWERS AND WHEN I PULLED OUT ON JOPPA ROAD AND THE TAILGATE POPPED OPEN AGAIN AND THE MOWERS FELL OUT AND STARTED GRILLING DOWN THE ROAD AND LUCKILY THE OWNER OF THE...
MY TRUCK WAS BACKED INTO MY DRIVEWAY, PARKED OVERNIGHT, AND WOULD NOT RESPOND TO KEY FOB. I TRIED SECOND FOB, ALSO HAD NO RESPONSE. I MANUALLY OPENED DOOR AND TRUCK WOULD NOT RESPOND IN ANY WAY. I CALL ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE. TOW TRUCK JUMPED BATTERY, WHICH ALLOWED TRUCK TO START, BUT PROMPTLY DIED ONCE CABLES WERE REMOVED. TOW TRUCK TOWED VEHICLE TO DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR ASSESSMENT. INITIAL DIAGNOSES WAS FAILED ALTERNATOR. HOWEVER, ONCE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED, SEVERAL OTHER ISSUES AROSE, IMMEDIATELY. THE PDC AND CABLE, BATTERY AS WELL AS WIPER MOTOR, AMONG OTHER ITEMS IN LINE, WERE ALSO DAMAGED. SMOKE INSTANTLY FILLED ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT IT APPEARED THAT VOLTAGE HAD BEEN BACKFED THUS CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE NOT NOTED EARLIER. THE DEALERSHIP THINKS THAT IF THEY SUBMITT ADDITIONAL REPAIR REQUESTS TO MOPAR, BEYOND ALTERNATOR FAILURE, THAT THIS WILL RESULT IN NON PAYMENT BY MY EXTENDED, LIFETIME WARRANTY PACKAGE...
ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS WORK INTERMITTENTLY ON THE FOUR DOOR OF THE CAB. IT IS NOT A DOOR ACTUATOR ISSUE AS THE DOORS LOCK AND UNLOCK IN AN UNUSUAL PATTERN. IT APPEARS TO BE RELATED TO A CONTROL MODULE. THIS DOOR LOCK AND UNLOCK ISSUE COULD INTERFERE WITH CHILD SAFETY LOCKS AS I SEE IT. THERE ARE MULTIPLE REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE WITH OTHER OWNERS AS EVIDENCED WITH ONLINE SEARCHES.
MY 2013 RAM WILL LOCK THE DOORS RANDOMLY, WITH NO ONE IN IT OR NEAR IT. ITS HAPPENED MANY TIMES, NOW I HAVE TO LEAVE A WINDOW DOWN IF IM JUST UNLOADING THE BACK, OR CARRY A SPARE KEY. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN GIVING TROUBLE FOR THE PAST 3 MONTHS, WITH THE ELECTRICAL PANEL GOING OFF WHILE DRIVING ON STREETS AND HIGHWAYS, NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTROL SPEED OR BRAKES, WINDSHIELD WIPERS COMING ON RANDOMLY, SIGNALS NOT WORKING, FALSE ALARMS FOR WASHER FLUID, RADIO AND BLUETOOTH SHUTTING DOWN AND CAR SHUTTING DOWN AND NOT STARTING ALTOGETHER. I'VE TAKEN IT TO 3 DIFFERENT SHOPS AND MECHANICS, WHO ALL HAD A HARD TIME DIAGNOSING AND FIXING THE PROBLEMS. I'VE HAD TO SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON TOW TRUCKS AND REPAIRS, AND AM NOT CONVINCED THE ISSUES ARE ADEQUATELY REPAIRED. I ALSO FIRMLY BELIEVE THIS IS AND SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE. THE PREVIOUS SECTION WOULD NOT LET ME CHOOSE ALL THE ISSUES BUT I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH AIR BAG, BRAKES, ELEC. STABILITY CONTROL, ELECTRICAL, ENGINE, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, LIGHTING, POWER TRAIN, SPEED CONTROL, STEERING, SUSPENSION, VISIBILITY/WIPER AND WHEELS.
NONE OF CONTROLS ON STEERING COLUMN ARE WORKING. FIRST THE CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED.. REPLACED THE FUSE IT LOOKED BURNT OUT. DID NOT SOLVE. THEN RADIO CONTROLS QUIT ALONG WITH LEFT SIDE DASH CONTROLS. WHILE DRIVING THE CRUISE WAS NOT WORKING. THE RADIO WHILE DRIVING AND THE LEFT SIDE DASH CONTROLS WORKED WHILE SITTING G I. DRIVEWAY BUT WHEN I MOVED THEY FROZE.
MY ENTIRE DASH, RADIO AND ALL ELECTRONICS IN TRUCK SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. I CAN STILL DRIVE THE TRUCK AS THE ENGINE, STEERING AND BRAKING STILL WORKS. THE DASH CYCLES LIKE I HAVE JUST TURNED THE TURN ON. I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO CATCH THIS ON VIDEO AS IT HAPPENS AND SCARES ME SO I KEEP WATCHING THE ROAD. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY CAN'T REPLICATED IT. I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO PIN DOWN WHY IT HAPPENS YET IT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING MORE OFTENT. NOW MY DASH LIGHTS ARE STARTING TO FLICKER AND FLASH. THIS IS VERY VERY DISTRACTING ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. I HAVE VIDEO OF THIS HAPPENING.
INTERIOR DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON LOCATED ON INTERIOR DRIVERS DOOR PANEL WILL NOT FUNCTION, I.E. WILL NOT LOCK, UNLOCK THE DOORS. KEY FOB WILL LOCK/UNLOCK DOORS, BUT NOT DOOR PANEL BUTTONS AT ANY TIME, MOVING OR STATIONARY. WINDOW FUNCTION BUTTONS WERE NOT WORKING, BUT HAVE STARTED WORKING ON THEIR OWN. BUT THE INABILITY TO LOCK OR UNLOCK THE DOORS SEEMS LIKE A HUGE SAFETY FACTOR. THEY DID WORK INITIALLY, SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING RECENTLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S DOORS BEGAN TO LOCK AND UNLOCK INDEPENDENTLY AND THE ENGINE STARTED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ELDER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1798 TX-31 BUS, ATHENS, TX 75751, (903) 677-2292) AND PAID $300 TO HAVE THE KEY FOB REPLACED AND PROGRAMMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. *BF*JB
THERE IS A SPRING IN THE STEERING COLUM THAT ALLOWS THE AIR BAGS, VOLUME CONTROL, CRUISE CONTROL, HEATED STEERING WHEEL, AND ANYTHING ELSE LOCATED ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO WORK. IT BROKE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY SHOULD BE A RECALL SAFETY ISSUE.
DASHBOARD FROM TIME TO TIME WILL GO COMPLETELY OUT FOR A FEW SECONDS AND REBOOT WHILE DRIVING. DURING THIS TIME NO DASHBOARD INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE. IT IS HARD TO REPRODUCE BECAUSE IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY.
DOOR LOCKS WON'T CLOSE WITH KEY FOB OR INSIDE SWITCH. LOCKS STAY OPEN WHILE DRIVING. DOOR LOOKS ONLY LOCK MANUALLY. STATIONARY AND WHILE MOVING.
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FLICKERS AND CAUSES DRIVER TO BE DISTRACTED POSING A RISK FOR ACCIDENT AND/OR INJURY. THIS STARTED OUT AS A SPORADIC ISSUE, BUT NOW SEEMS TO BE A CONSTANT SITUATION. WHEN I GET INTO MY VEHICLE, EVEN BEFORE STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FLICKERS. IT USED TO RESOLVE ITSELF RATHER QUICKLY ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON, BUT NOW IT IS NOT UNCOMMON TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL MILES BEFORE THE ISSUE STOPS. THERE ARE A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF THREADS ONLINE ABOUT THE ISSUE AND APPEARS THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING OR DESIGN OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER THAT SHOULD WARRANT A RECALL. I HAVE VIDEO OF THE ISSUE, BUT UNFORTUNATELY CAN'T UPLOAD THE VIDEO TO THIS SITE.
CHILD DOOR LOOKS AND AUTO DOOR LOCKS NOT WORKING. EITHER BY IN INTERIOR SWITCHES OR KEY FOB. SOME OR ALL DOOR WILL NOT LOCK WITHOUT MANUALLY PRESSING DOWN THE MANUAL DOOR LOCKS. COMMON PROBLEM FOUND WHEN SEARCHED ON RAM FORUMS DEALER REPLACED BODY CONTROL MODULE AND NEW KEY FOBS.
FIRST EXPERIENCED MALFUNCTION OF THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK NOT CYCLING WITH THE OTHER LOCKS. I HAD TO MANUALLY OPERATE THE LOCK BY REACHING AROUND FROM THE FRONT DOOR. THIS WENT ON FOR ABOUT A MONTH, THEN THE DRIVERS DOOR LOCK STARTED DOING THE SAME THING. DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE IN RAM FORUMS, THERE WERE SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT AND ISSUES. OTHER PEOPLE HAD WENT THROUGH THE PAINSTAKING PROCESS OF PAYING THE DEALER TO TROUBLE SHOOT AND REPLACE VARIOUS OTHER PARTS UNTIL THE ISSUE WAS TRACED TO THE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM, PART NUMBER 68200252AF FOR MY MODEL). WHEN I CALLED MY LOCAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THEY EXPLAINED THAT PART WAS ON BACK ORDER WITH NO ETA. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, HAPPENS WHETHER USING THE KEY FOB, OR DOOR HANDLE CONTROLS, OR INSIDE CONSOLE BUTTONS.
AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK THIS MORNING I HAD MY CRUSE CONTROL SET AT 65MPH. I REACHED THE NORMAL POINT IN WHICH I TURN THE CRUSE CONTROL OFF EVERY MORNING DUE TO AN APPROACHING INTERSECTION AND THE CRUSE CONTROL BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT FUNCTION. I HIT THE BRAKE PEDDLE AND THE CRUSE STILL WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE TURN LANE AND PROCEED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, WHICH WAS LUCKILY GREEN, AND SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND SHUT IF OFF. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE BACK UP THE CRUSE CONTROL BUTTONS WILL NOT FUNCTION. I TRIED AGAIN THIS AFTERNOON AND THEY ARE WORKING JUST FINE. EVER SINCE THE WIRE HARNESS WAS REPLACED A FEW YEARS AGO THERE HAVE BEEN ISSUES WITH THE VOLUME CONTROLS FOR THE RADIO BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HAD ANY ISSUE WITH THE CRUSE...
KEYFOB DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. IT OPENS THE TRUCK ON ITS OWN AND KEEPS TRYING TO OPEN ALL TIME WHEN KEYFOB IS NEAR.
