TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V461000 (EQUIPMENT: ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD). THE TECHNICIAN REFUSED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE RADIO MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED PRIOR TO THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE IN MARCH AND AGREED WITH THE TECHNICIAN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

WHILE REPAIRING THE VEHICLE ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V461000 (EQUIPMENT) WITH THE USB INSERTED, THE MESSAGE BOARD WENT BLANK AND FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RADIO HAD BURNED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
