The airbag headrests opened up randomly without being involved in an accident!
The contact owned a 2008 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 16V081000 (Air Bags) and 16V363000 (Air Bags) and would like to be removed from the recall distribution list. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted.
The contact owns a 2008 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated after the vehicle was taken to the dealer for an unknown recall repair, the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The contact also became aware that the driver’s side headlight was inoperable. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a detached headlamp wiring harness. The dealer recommended that driver’s and passenger’s side headlamps be replaced. Additionally, the taillights remained illuminated after turning off the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Car has been in and out of the shop. Initially I have been contacting Mercedes about airbag messages and continued message of SRS Malfunction on dashboard. Airbags had been recalled and supposedly replaced on multiple occasions. This SRS continues to remain even after repair or being seen for this issue only for other components to have failed and me having to pay for those in the process. The SRS Malfunction remains an issue until the next issue is affected. Recently an entire Electronic SAM Module Component was replaced as the culprit only to have more issues and the SRS remained. Mercedes has contended that each time they saw the vehicle the the SRS Malfunction was not the problems while other documents were repaired such as battery and SAM. In the meantime since then the car has stalled, components that were working are no longer inoperable. There was a recall that...
My car had the Takata airbags that were recalled. It says the recalls were repaired but my vehicle is saying that the driver-side airbag has malfunctioned. I haven't been in any accidents. So I contacted Mercedes and they could not find verification that the previous open recalls were ever fixed.
After repair done on the confirmed recall airbag computer/module my vehicle became immobile, malfuctioned. The vehicle warning lamps alerted the airbag malfunctioned, srs malfunction. I seeked service for repair of this recall by experts. This safety issue is still ongoing and urgency is needed for this to be resolved.
When I was driving, the passenger active headrest suddenly deployed and pop out. I’m glad on one was on the passenger seat, and the airbags did not deployed. I’m concerned about the safety of airbags accidentally deploy in the future with the broken headrest.

BANK IN 2017 THE SRS AIRBAG SAFETY LIGHT COMES ON AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT. THIS WAS A RECALL. I WAITED UNTIL LATE 2018 WHEN THE AIR BAGS CAME INTO THE MERCEDES DEALER IN ANNAPOLIS TO REPLACE FOR RECALL. AFTER THAT THE SRS AIRBAG SAFETY LIGHT STILL COMES ON. WE TAKE IT BACK TO MERCEDES FOR THEM TO CHECK AND CLEAR. THEY SAY IT WAS DONE. SAME LIGHT COMES BACK ON. WE TAKE IT BACK TO MERCEDES TODAY 2/25/2020 AND THEY SAY ITS A SAFETY FAULTY SEAT BELT SWITCH. THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $1100 TO REPAIR. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE ON A NATIONAL BACKORDER, AND THAT THE CONTACT WOULD BE PLACED ON A WAITING LIST AND CALLED ONCE THE PARTS ARRIVED. TAKATA RECALL NO ONE IS AVAILABLE TO FIX THIS RECALL FOR ME I HAVE BEEN CALLING OVER TWO YEARS NOW WHEN I NOTICED A PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE
TAKATA RECALL, AND SRS MODULE. MERCEDES BENZ PARAMUS WILL NOT FIX RECALL UNLESS I PAY 400 DOLLARS FOR A MALFUNCTION ON THE DRIVER SIDE SEATBELT BUCKLE, WHICH WORKS FINE AND LOCKS IN PLACE. FOR PREVIOUS RECALL AT MERCEDES BENZ IN ENGLEWOOD NJ, THEY SERVICE SHOP ALWAYS UPCHARGES AND IF I REFUSE TO PAY THEY WILL NOT DO RECALL. THE ENGLEWOOD ONE TRIED TO CHARGE ME 700 DOLLARS FOR A O2 SENSOR THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BEFORE THEY CAN FIX RECALL AND I HAD REFUSED. THIS WAS TWO YEARS AGO. NOW ON 9/12/18 AT 3:00PM I DROPPED MY CAR OFF FOR THE RECALL, THEN THEY STATED THAT THEY WILL DO IT, THEN MAGICALLY MY STEERING WHEEL COLUMN LOCKED AND CHARGED ME 1100 DOLLARS TO FIX IT WITHOUT FIXING ME RECALL BECAUSE THEY STATED THAT THE SEATBELT BUCKLE WAS FAULTY AND THEY NEED TO FIX THAT AND CHARGE ME 400 DOLLARS...

PLEASE HELP AS US PARENTS AND OUR KID ARE AT RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY IF THESE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS ARE NOT REPLACED IN A TIMELY MANNER! THANK YOU.

MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED FOR THE TAKATA RECALL AND I HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM MERCEDES DATED DECEMBER 2017 INDICATING THE PARTS FOR MY CAR SHOULD BE IN BY MARCH 31,2018. THIS IS ONLY COMMUNICATION I RECEIVED. I CALLED ON APRIL 25, 2018 AND TODAY JULY 30,2018. STILL NO REPLACEMENT FOR MY CAR. I WAS INFORMED THAT NHTSA WAS CONTROLLING WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE SENT ON MY CAR.
I WAS TRAVELING DOWN ROSWELL ROAD AND A 2009 CHEVY SUBURBAN HIT THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY VEHICLE. MY CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET GOING STRAIGHT. THE SUBURBAN WAS MAKING A LEFT OUT OF A COMPLEX AND DID NOT SEE MY CAR IN FRONT OF HIM AND HIT MY PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. I HAVE ATTACHED PHOTOS. WONDERING WHY MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY BASED ON THE IMPACT. LUCKILY, NO ONE WAS SITTING AT THE BACK OF THE CAR, THOUGH, MY SISTER WAS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.
