Consumer Description
TAKATA RECALL: I WENT TO MERCEDES IN PARAMUS, NJ TO COMPLETE THE RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS TO MY VEHICLE.. THE SERVICE REP STATED THAT BECAUSE I HAVE AN SRS LIGHT ON IN MY VEHICLE THAT I WOULD NEED TO PAY $160.00 (DISCOUNTED FROM THE $299.00) IN ORDER TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE, THEN CORRECT THAT SITUATION (OUT OF MY POCKET) BEFORE THEY CAN COMPLETE THE RECALL... THE FUNNY PART IS THAT THE SRS LIGHT IS FOR THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM WHICH ARE MY AIR BAGS!!! I HAVE HAD THE SRS LIGHT ON MY VEHICLE SINCE I BOUGHT HE CAR WHICH HAS BEEN 9 YEARS! OF COARSE MERCEDES IS TRYING TO CHARGE ME SOMETHING BECAUSE THEY FIGURE 'WHY SPEND SO MANY HOURS OF FREE LABOR ON A VEHICLE THAT IS 10 YEARS OLD' I ACTUALLY EXPECTED THIS OUTCOME! NOTHING IS EVER FREE WITH MERCEDES.... I AM NOT GIVING THEM A PENNY FOR AN ISSUE I HAVE HAD WITH THE VEHICLE SINCE I BOUGHT IT AUGUST 2009
