Vehicle and purchase details Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe VIN: 1C4RJXR6XRW251767 Purchase date: September 13, 2024 Selling/servicing dealer: AutoNation West Location: Golden, Colorado Key timeline 09/13/2024 – I purchased the vehicle new from AutoNation. By November 2025 – The vehicle had approximately 21,537 miles, still under 24,000 miles. October 2025 – The vehicle was serviced for recall 56C and was out of service for several days. Early November 2025 – Jeep/stellantis announced recall 76C (and also 68C) affecting my VIN, involving significant safety concerns and instructions limiting how the vehicle can be used/charged. At that time, my vehicle had roughly 21,537 miles, well below 24,000 miles. As I understand it, no actual fix was available at that time. Late 2025 into early 2026 – I continued to use the vehicle subject to Stellantis’ restrictions and with the open safety recalls still impacting my ability to use the vehicle normally and...

Driving around a fire hazard Jeep. Jeep offer no rental even if it fails the 68c. Called Jeep dealership times and will not take in Jeep for recall. Jeep needs this recall done asap and offer a rental if need be. Rental reimbursement is a nightmare with stellantis and could be up to 2 month. If jeep wants to get a lawsuit from one day the battery catches fire then rather getting it fixed now then I know they have deep pockets

Ever since the 68c recall update my Jeep has been having a hard time knowing what system it should be using to drive. The electric system shuts off, but the engine doesn’t start up until I press the gas pedal to the floor. I’ve had multiple instances on the freeway where this has happened and almost caused me to wreck. I’m very concerned this is happening.

Hi, my name is [XXX] . I own a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe. My vehicle has been at the dealership since January 19 due to a defective hybrid battery, and there is still no estimated arrival date for the replacement. It has now been over 30 days without my vehicle. I need a formal case opened INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was driving my car when it powered down and had an unrecoverable loss of propulsion. It's a miracle I didn't crash and kill myself or anyone else on the road. This aligns with NHTSA Recall Number 25V-766. Jeep dealer identified the issue is failed transfer case assembly, then had to replace transfer case motor, then updated the software for the electric battery, but that software update is an ineffective remedy for the recall. I'm afraid to drive car because it might spontaneously catch fire or power down while driving again, which is terrifying because you lose all steering control. My car has been at the Jeep Dealer in Lynnfield, Massachusetts since January 7, 2026. The Jeep dealer said they couldn't buy my Jeep from me because they can't certify it's safety due to open recall. I can't park car in my parking garage or anywhere in Boston per recall...

When running the vehicle in electric mode (and sometimes hybrid), there seems to be an issue with acceleration. When pressing the pedal, the vehicle begins to accelerate until it reaches around 50% power. Once that happens, it either barely accelerates or doesn't at all - even if you are pushing the gas pedal completely to the floor. After a short period of time, the engine kicks on to compensate, but there is of course a delay there and many times causes the vehicle to lurch forward. After taking my vehicle to the dealership twice for this, I was told that although Stellantis is keeping quiet about this, during the 68C recall software flash fix Stellantis installed something into the vehicles to essentially throttle the battery's power. They claim this is to avoid the battery from getting too hot. I was never notified that they would be completely altering the functionality...

Back on October 10th, 2025, I took the software update related to the A7C recall. On October 11th, my vehicle became totally bricked and undriveable due to this update. I had it towed to a dealership where they supposedly "fixed" it by rolling the software back. However, my recall letter stated that this was not a permanent fix and there currently is none. It has been 4 months since this began and there is STILL no remedy or any updates on when a remedy may be available. This recall poses a dangerous risk for myself, other owners of 4xe's, and other drivers on the road as sudden loss of propulsion can lead to crashes. Submitting this report because while we were notified of this recall, Stellantis has not remedied it in a timely manner.

1. Loss of motive power at freeway speeds (drops to ~40 mph) despite >40% battery charge 2. Uncommanded switching between electric and gas propulsion; driver cannot control the transition 3. Unintended acceleration in reverse / tire spin even after releasing accelerator 4. Steering wheel shaking at highway speeds → potential loss of control ***All of these items create a high risk of rear-end crash, parking-lot collision, and pedestrian/property hazard This is not “normal hybrid operation.” It is an intermittent propulsion control failure (loss of power + uncommanded acceleration behavior) that materially affects safe operation, so it should be handled as a warrantable defect and a safety defect, regardless of recall status. And because the vehicle cannot reliably maintain electric propulsion and instead experiences unpredictable loss of power and forced transitions to the gasoline engine—even with significant battery charge remaining—it is not functioning as a hybrid/electric vehicle as advertised. I paid...

I own a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe with approximately 14,000 miles. The vehicle is subject to multiple safety recalls involving fire risk and potential catastrophic failure. Recall 1 involves the high-voltage battery. The manufacturer instructed owners not to charge the vehicle and not to park near structures due to risk of fire. The recall notice states that not charging may lower the risk of fire. Recall 2 indicates that manufacturing contamination (dust/debris) may cause fire or catastrophic engine failure. No remedy is currently available and no repair timeline has been provided. To perform the battery recall, the dealership advised that the vehicle must be charged. However, the dealer indicated limited charger availability and no loaner vehicles, requiring the vehicle to be left for multiple days. Recall 1 has been repaired, but it took multiple attempts because the dealership was not properly equipped to handle it. Recall 2 remains outstanding. Due...

Oct 21, 2025 •Vehicle became inoperable in the middle of a busy road following an over-the-air update. •Vehicle immediately came to a abrupt stop aggressively propelling both driver and [XXX] occupant. Tension, neck strain, and severe stress response. •This created a serious safety risk to occupants and surrounding traffic. Nearly causing multiple accidents @ 185th and Bronson road in Beaverton oregon. •Vehicle identified with three major safety recalls. All issues unresolved as of 2/12/2026. Unable to operate vehicle as intended due to recalls. Mid-January 2026 •Dealership informed you the vehicle failed recall testing. Meaning battery was and had been a significant fire risk. •You were told the vehicle would likely be unavailable for months, with no estimated completion date. My vehicle has an open safety recall (Campaign 78C) related to the hybrid system. The manufacturer has confirmed that no repair remedy or parts are currently available, and no timeline has been provided. Despite the unresolved safety recall, I have been informed that I may continue operating the vehicle. I am concerned about the safety risk of operating a vehicle with an unresolved safety recall and no available fix. I contacted the manufacturer (Jeep/Stellantis) to request documentation and review. While a case was initially created, I was later informed that a proactive repurchase is not being offered and that my request for continued review would not be documented or kept open. I am submitting this complaint to document the unresolved safety recall, the lack of an available remedy, and the manufacturer’s refusal to continue internal review of the safety concern. The recall notice did not include a consumer issue date;...

I have a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe that was caught on fire at 2am 2/10/26 when parked in my garage. Jeep issed 68C recall for its defective EV battery, and I had finished the recall on 1/20/26 in Fremont CDJR in CA, but it was still caught on fire. I have every thing saved, Ring footage and invoices from the dealer about recall. Just want to report that the remedy from Jeep does not help at all.

Started vehicle in the morning and radio/infotainment system had a problem. The radio functions seemed to work but when I put the vehicle in reverse the backup camera screen went black. I tried putting the car back into park and then restarting the vehicle and putting it back into reverse, but it didn't work again. Drove about 25 miles to my place of work and parked in a parking spot. I then proceeded to put the vehicle in reverse again and this time noticed the camera started to work but it was working intermittently. The screen kept flashing on/off and also the image from the camera flashing in blue. During the initial startup and later when parking at no time were there any warning lights or anything to indicate a malfunction. I have had issues with the radio/infotainment system multiple times and have brought it into dealership for issues with...

Catastrophic Loss of Motive Power and Power Steering at Road Speed Following Recall 68C Update. Description: On February 6, 2026, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (Mileage: 24,947) suffered a catastrophic safety failure while in motion on a public roadway. This occurred about 25 hours after the vehicle was "cleared" by a dealership for Recall 68C (NHTSA Recall 25V-741). While driving at approximately 25/30 MPH in Electric Mode, the vehicle suddenly displayed a "Service Transmission" warning and a red high-voltage "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System" error. The vehicle immediately lost all motive power and entered a "Limp Mode" (Turtle icon) that restricted speed to under 5 MPH. Simultaneously, the vehicle lost power steering and displayed errors for "Service Shifter," "Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) Unavailable," and "Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Unavailable." I was forced to drift the unpowered vehicle across lanes of traffic into a shoulder without power steering where another vehicle...

Klamath Falls Dodge Dealership and Stellantis have failed to repair the defects cited in the A7C, 68C and 78C. My vehicle is subject to sudden stops and sudden fires. The vehicle has been at the dealership since 12/28/2025. I filed a claim online and with certified mail with Stellantis. No action has been taken to correct the defects and the vehicle can't be driven in a safe manner.

Vehicle Safety Incident & Recall Case Summary In approximately October 2025, while my son was driving the vehicle on Highway 85 at approximately 70 mph, the car suddenly shut off and lost power without warning. He was able to safely pull over to the side of the road and had to restart the vehicle in order to continue driving. At the time of this incident, the vehicle had only a few thousand miles. As a parent, I am deeply concerned about my son’s safety, particularly given that this power loss occurred at highway speeds without warning. Shortly after this incident, I personally experienced a separate failure while driving the vehicle, during which the car would not accelerate as expected. This created an additional and serious safety concern during normal driving conditions. We brought the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership for evaluation. The dealership informed us that this issue was...

Vehicle experiences sudden unintended stopping and loss of propulsion. There are known safety recalls with no available remedy. Vehicle is unsafe and inoperable. Smoke/burning odor present. Children were in the vehicle during incidents. Manufacturer has not provided a fix. I was on my way to work towards the end of September with a SEMI behind me and it stopped out of the blue while driving! Thank God I acted fast and pushed start then stop to get it to go and out of the way, I was right infront of my job. Other times I have been alone and most recently during Christmas break my brother in law was in the car with me when it happened and he screamed and said to turn around, he’s a mechanic and he wanted to see what I was talking about. We didn’t even make it but out of the apartment complex when...

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that when attempting to accelerate from being idle, or while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would suddenly jerk, accelerate at an unexpected speed, or fail to accelerate. There was a ticking noise coming from the front end of the vehicle that could be heard when standing outside the vehicle. The Check Engine light and the explanation warning light, as well as others not specified, would illuminate intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the dealer was not able to diagnose the failure. The dealer updated the vehicle's software but was unable to provide a remedy for the failures. The dealer informed the contact of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V741000 (Electrical System) and 25V766000 (Engine); however, the parts to do the recall repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for...

After having the 68C recall software update completed on my Jeep at an authorized dealership, I now experience sluggish and decreased acceleration (even deceleration) upon pressing the accelerator more than half way (approximately). This happened twice on hills in which I needed to increase power while in Electric mode. What happened was the jeep seemed to lose power and decrease in speed while trying to go up the hill. I continued pressing the accelerator farther down and the jeep seemed to be even more sluggish until all of a sudden the combustion engine kicked in at a very intense level and high RPM, lurching be forward, almost into the back of another vehicle. The sudden decrease in power to an even more sudden and drastic (sharp) increase felt dangerous.

To address what system failed: The Engine shuts off while driving at highway speeds without warning. The Electrical system suddenly and completely shutdown. Loss of Propulsion while driving. To address the safety for myself and others at risk: The Vehicles sudden loss of propulsion at highway speeds created an immediate risk of rear-end collision, loss of control of the vehicle or being stranded in active traffic lanes. Surrounding vehicles were forced to brake and maneuver unexpectedly, placing myself, passengers (children) and other motorists at risk of serious injury or death. No warning lights prior to failure and the vehicle will be inspected on February 2, 2026 at Westgate in Raleigh.

I own a 2024 Jeep 4xe in Alabama with approximately 9,000 miles. The vehicle was towed to a dealership due to safety concerns related to active recalls, including Recall 68C involving the high-voltage battery, as well as a second engine-related recall for which no remedy has been issued. The vehicle was checked in and a repair order was opened. Dealer diagnostic notes indicate trouble codes related to the high-voltage system, coolant heater, and EVAP system, and state that certain components “need to be replaced.” Despite this, I later received a text message stating the vehicle was “ready for pickup,” even though active safety recalls remain and it was not clearly communicated that the listed components were replaced. Because these recalls involve potential fire risk and high-voltage system faults, I do not feel the vehicle is safe to operate, especially with children riding in it. The vehicle has remained at the...

The vehicle experienced a loss of motive power while stopped at a traffic light and would not accelerate when the accelerator was pressed. The failure appears related to the powertrain/electrical system. The vehicle was unable to move and required a restart to regain propulsion. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request. This failure placed my safety and the safety of other road users at risk due to the inability to proceed through an intersection as expected, creating a risk of collision. The problem has not been reproduced on demand, but it has occurred at least once and is consistent with an active safety recall (A7C) related to loss of motive power. The issue has been discussed with the manufacturer and a dealer, both of whom confirmed that no repair or interim remedy is currently available. The vehicle has not been physically inspected by the manufacturer due to the lack...

I took my Jeep into the dealership for the 68C recall and when I got it back they stated they updated the software. I checked the history of the Jeep and did not see that the dealership charge the battery to 75% or do a test drive. My understanding is that these two things out of three were to be done for the recall to be completed. I just want to make sure it was done correctly. When I contacted the dealership they did not want to answer my questions about charging the HV battery to 75% or the test drive. Also according to the paperwork from the dealership it just shows "updates per recall."
#11712427 |
Following a manufacturer over-the-air (OTA) software update released in Fall 2025 and subsequent completion of Safety Recall 68C, my vehicle exhibits new and dangerous driving behavior that did not exist prior to these updates. While operating in electric mode, the vehicle can unexpectedly lose power during acceleration, including at roadway speeds and while climbing hills, creating a risk of sudden deceleration in traffic. Under electric operation, the vehicle accelerates normally up to approximately 45 mph. Beyond that point, electric power output progressively decreases even as accelerator input is maintained or increased. Vehicle speed can decline while the accelerator is further depressed, and the electric power indicator visibly drops. This often results in abrupt internal combustion engine (ICE) engagement, aggressive downshifting, and sudden acceleration. This loss-and-surge behavior is unpredictable and hazardous, particularly in traffic or on inclines. Prior to the OTA update and recall action, the vehicle provided consistent electric power...

I cannot park my car in my garage or in my driveway for fear of the fire. This could happen while I am driving or parked. 2nd is that my Jeep could lose power and my Jeep could stop running while I am driving. This could happen on a highway going 65 MPH causing a crash which could kill or seriously injure myself, passenger and anyone else around. I received a recalls stating these warnings and that there are no fixes for it. I live in a townhouse development. If my car catches fire in my garage of my driveway all the houses will catch fire as well. And the 2nd goes without saying...I don't want to drive anywhere but to and from work. Crazy when I am making huge payments on a vehicle I cannot drive.

I have two open serious recalls on my Jeep Wrangler 4xe. There is a recall for the batter/charging system so I cannot plug it in to the charger I purchased for my home. I also have a continuing issue with my gas tank - it will not fill and the nozzel clicks off even though I have next to no gas in the tank. I can't charge the car, yet can't fill it with gas. I have brought it back to the dealership 3 or 4 times in the less than two years of owning the car. There is also a recall that effects the engine so I am scared to drive it on the highway. Basically I was tricked into leasing a $60,000 piece of absolute garbage. I can't get out of the lease early without having to -pay some type of penalty or losing money, which is really...

After the 68C / NHTSA 25V-741 Recall was completed, the Jeep can be difficult to drive and will dangerously lose power or accelerate unexpectedly. When driving in Electric Mode it will suddenly lose power and often start the engine abruptly. I've nearly been rear ended when it lost power, but also almost crashed into the car in front of me when the engine started abruptly and gave full power unexpectedly. This is a new characteristic since the recall was completed. I spoke with the dealer assistant service manager, and he said that unless the vehicle is displaying an error or warning, that it is operating as Stellantis has written the software for the recall. I spoke with Stellantis and told them of the severe safety issue, and that I feel unsafe driving it. Since I've been told this defect is normal, I asked for a refund/return. They said "sorry" and...

Loss of motor power recall has been present since October 17, 2025 - #25V710. This is an issue that started with our specific Jeep prior to this recall. It is January now and no remedy has been found. The manufacturer will not provide a loaner or rental for us even though the car has shut off on us personally on multiple occasions. They asked us to take it into the dealer to perform a diagnostic, they are unable to reproduce the shut-off issue we've experienced and have told us there is nothing they can do at this time. I looked up at your website and see there is an "interim corrective action" that has been implemented to avoid loss of motive power using an update to the backend policy while a final remedy is still under development. When I asked the dealer to either confirm if they at least performed...

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my leased 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The vehicle is subject to an open safety recall involving the risk of engine fire and sudden engine shutdown. At this time, there is no available remedy. I have contacted Jeep Customer Care and Stellantis Financial Services multiple times and was advised that because the vehicle is leased, the issue is "out of scope," and arbitration may be my only option. I have received no written response to my safety concerns. I am concerned about operating or storing a vehicle with a known fire risk and no repair available. I am seeking manufacturer action to address this unresolved safety defect.

Driving around town and the car just dies on me. I had my kids with me in the car this time when it happened. This is now getting scary when my car is my daily driver and I should not have to worry if I have my kids in the car when I drive it and it just dies. If my kids get hurt due to an accident from this dang recall that is taking MONTHS to get any remedy I should be able to get out of my lease with my jeep. The vehicle experienced repeated loss-of-power and stalling events while driving, including after a software update, which required the vehicle to be towed to a dealership. Similar drivability issues occurred earlier after purchase. The vehicle currently has multiple open safety recalls. Despite repeated attempts to work with the manufacturer and assurances of follow-up by assigned specialists, no direct contact or resolution was provided. My wife will no longer drive the vehicle because it has stalled due to software loads, and we can’t park it in our garage in fear of fire and there are other recalls as well. We bought it because it was electric and Jeep advised you should not plug it in to charge the battery.

THREE urgent fire risk/catastrophic recalls with no remedy avail. Urged not safe to drive or charge due to fire risk. Urged to park away from buildings due to fire risk. Cannot schedule an appointment for repair as no remedy is avail. Considering, vehicle is not serviceable since September 2025. Requesting a buyback as I need a reliable and safe vehicle ASAP. Currently posing a catastrophic risk to my family, neighbors and employer/co-workers as this is my only means of transportation. Unsafe and hazardous. I purchased this vehicle back in August 2024, currently only has 17,000 miles and all services are UTD minus the recalls considering no remedy avail.

Recall 78C on my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe poses an imminent threat. Jeep has no current fix for the issue. Jeep is providing no buyback options or trade-in assistance to get out from under the vehicle. I was told by Stellantis not to drive the vehicle and that I was to fully front the cost of a rental (and be reimbursed later) while still paying a car payment for a vehicle they said not to drive. This vehicle had multiple issues as a 1 year old vehicle. Shaking in the front end on the highway, leading to replacing front sway bar and dampeners. Now multiple fire hazard recalls for the battery and for engine while driving, charging, and just being parked. The vehicle has shut off while driving placing my life and others at risk in the road. No warning lights prior to any of these issues.
