The dealership says that they repair the open recall, but it still shows that the issue hasn’t been fixed.
Hello I have a 2014 grand Cherokee 3.6 and the oil cooler went out again .. this is TH 3RD TIME. The last 2 times I pay out of pocket for it but now 3 different mechanics told me there’s either a recall or something with the oil cooler when jeep has to fix it. I don’t want to pay another $1000 again PLEASE HELP ME OUT JEEP OF LOWELL DIDNT HELP AT ALL
I purchased a used 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. The seller claimed the mileage was around 76,800 at the time of sale. After the purchase, a vehicle history report (Carfax/AutoCheck) showed that the actual mileage was approximately 223,000. This means the odometer reading was rolled back or misrepresented. The title paperwork shows a false mileage disclosure. This problem puts consumers at risk because the true condition of the vehicle is hidden, making it unsafe to rely on maintenance records or expected performance. It is also a violation of federal odometer laws. The issue has been confirmed by the vehicle history report, and all documents are available for inspection if requested.
While driving down the road my car randomly shifts into neutral and won’t start back, when I finally get it to start back it won’t shift
The car will randomly throw itself into neutral and i will completely lose all power. got a diagnostics done and it is the transmission control module. the part is currently on back order because so many cars are having the same issue as mine.
Defrost not working (HVAC)
I was stopped in traffic at approximately 16:00 on Tuesday 5/27/2025. All of the sudden the drivers side headrest deployed with force, hitting me in the back of my head and pushing my head and neck forward. Since the incident I am experiencing pain in my neck.
While driving on the interstate suddenly my jeep switched gears I was able to put back in drive and pull over. After pulling over and jeep being put in park it wouldn’t go back into drive, after 3 attempts turning car off and back on again it finally shifted to drive. I was able to at least get home and put it in garage. It now will not go into reverse at all, I try frequently, this happened a few months ago, I also called and reported issue but was never told I had to get online and fill out a form etc. I can’t afford to pay for this big of a repair. It seems this issue has occurred on several 2014 jeeps. This was extremely scary and unsafe to say the least even more so with my kids in the car. I hope I can get this taken...

Car unexpectedly shifted into neutral without me switching gears while driving.
I had a recall on the dash of my Jeep due to the leather wrinkling.I had very slight wrinkling, so I honored the recall and took it to the dealership. They replaced the leather which seemed to fix the problem, well WRONG, they put the leather down with no adhesive to keep it in place. Long story short, it began having some puckering in the middle,now the whole dash looks like a wrinkled bed sheet and its totally lifted along the bottom of the windshield, which has caused my defrost vent to lift out of place and resricts airflow. This resricts my visibility when the defrost cannot blow accurately. I took it back to the dealership to show them,and to tell them that it's worse than before I brought it to them, and if I had've known this would happen, I would have left it alone! Noise possibly coming from the transfer case shifting into different gears. Four wheels lowe is not working, end movement and impact when accelerating and when slowing down. Sudden movements when turning right
SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHT, CAR NOT GOING INTO GEARS.
The active headrest restraint system deployed without being in a crash or hitting a bump for that matter. The vehicle was sitting stationary when it deployed. This could be a major safety issue as I have had a history of concussions and if this were to have deployed while I was driving, the consequences could have been severe. I see that they expanded a 10 year warranty for this, but it deployed a couple of months after that 10 year warranty expired. This should be covered for lifetime as it is a malfunctioning safety component that could seriously injure someone or render them incapacitated at highway speeds. All of this is due to a plastic clip failing that holds a metal pin.
My instrument cluster (where the speed, gas level, engine temperature, etc. Is displayed) had completely blacked out. It was periodically coming on. But it's not coming on at all anymore. I've taken it to the dealership, had it replaced (with a used part), had the wiring checked, also tried reprogramming the instrument cluster. Nothing has worked. There was a recall for this same exact problem, with the same exact vehicle except my vehicle was manufactured 3 months after the recall notice called for vehicle manufactured through Aug 2013 my was November 2013. I feel that my vehicle also should've been part of that recall notice.
-The passenger seat head rest popped open (exploded - it was super loud) when in the process of backing up out of my driveway. - The safety of everyone in the car was put at risk. My husband was in the seat and was hit in the back of the head. My son, his wife and their 2 month old daughter was in the back seat. - The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by anyone. It just happend last night. - It has not been inspected yet either. - There was no indication of any issue with the head rest. There was no collision or problem prior to the rest rest popping open (or exploding, seriously).
I was driving home from dinner and while driving I got a notification on the dashboard and then few moments later it locked up and everything started turning off. Incuding the radio, AC but not the car. The car would not drive once I got it on the side of the road. The car would not turn off due to not being able to place car in park. It was stuck in drive. My husband had to come over and put his foot on brake and take over the wheel. He then hit the power button for 5 seconds and it went into park and turned off. We called a tow company to take it to dealership to get fixed. We seen we had some recalls so we asked if that was the issue they said yes and ordered parts to fix. Days and weeks went on got car back...
The shifter has a manufacturer issue the car while it is accelerating throws itself into neutral on its own. The car could be in drive and it'll throw itself into sports mode on its own. It'll drop down the acceleration on its own as if it's shifting on its own. Car could be put into park and the shifter will throw it into neutral or in reverse. Contacted Chrysler they refusing to honor the recall cleaning there's an expiration date. This has been reported to you guys many people have the same issue ( 19V447) I literally almost died with what the shifter is doing and I need them to honor their recall this is a safety hazard that can kill or answer anyone easily

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The passenger-side Active Headrest of my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee exploded as I was driving last week. After inspecting it myself, it appears that the plastic parts that hold the headrest together broke. This seems to be a common problem after googling the issue. It is available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This could have caused a head injury. I am worried that if the driver's side headrest explodes while I am driving that it could cause injury or cause me to crash. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The dealership I spoke to said that the warranty had been extended for these active headrests (So it is a known issue) but that extension is expired...

I was travelling down the road at approximately 30 mph and my the active headrest on the passenger side randomly deployed. This caused an extremely loud noise that sounded like an explosion. This caused me to swerve and slam on the brakes. It was unclear, at the time, what was happening. This has now caused extreme anxiety that it will happen on the driver side, while I am driving, and cause bodily harm or cause me to wreck, which could be potentially fatal. It appears that the clips that were holding it on just broke, or gave out, causing the deployment. After researching this I have found that this is a well known problem with this vehicle and has caused injury to others. When looking up my VIN number it says there are no recalls. The problem with my vehicle is with emissions system which was covered under the Ecodiesel Extended Warranty lawsuit the EPA filed against the manufacturer Stellantis. My jeep has been down at Crystler Dodge Jeep Ram dealerships for 2 years. The extended warranty states they would repair problems, but they have not. I was told today that they will only give me 8741 for my car but they want to keep it. I’ve had to go to the hospital twice from the first dealership that had my car for a whole year giving me carbon monoxide poisoning. I’ve been paying full coverage insurance for 2 years. This manufacturer has placed and is placing me in a hardship. They said they would/ coukd repair my car and stayed in writing they would have certified techs working on my car, they had the parts manager working on my car and almost killed me....
I am driving on the highway and my vehicle goes into neutral on its own it’s very dangerous and almost caused an accident from what I was reading there was a recall for the software for the transmission this happened quite a few times and needs fixing
My youngest son was away at college, using the vehicle to go to and from class. He was driving the Jeep home for summer break when suddenly, the wipers turned on and the dashboard warning lights lit up the dash like a Christmas tree. He did not know what to do, who would? Then the dashboard went completely black. He tried turning off the wipers and then suddenly the car shifted into park in the middle of traffic all on its own, with cars on both sides. He was fortunate that he was not rear-ended and severely injured. My son is a cautious driver, as he fears any accident that could end his athletic career. In Aug my warning light came on, I called Mopar was given a case number it was not until October that I was contacted after repeatedly calling for status. The is was the EGR Cooler which Mopar showed had been replaced when recall issued, I was advised by Stellantis to have towed to dealer, it was towed Oct 15, dealer advised it was replaced a few years earlier but I provided proof it had not, dealer then replaced but then advised it could not be cranked due to not holding coolant, it was not doing this prior to being towed. I then asked for the outstanding recalls to be completed, they advised no parts…I see now one is showing incomplete that should have been done, the other is a problem with part, I called after receiving a letter those parts were in and they said they were not, I then...
Within 48 hours, I experienced two issues: First, we were driving on the highway at a speed of 75 mph when suddenly the front driver's side tire pressure indicator began to ramp up and eventually topped out at 86. We stopped to check the tire pressure at a gas station, and it was really 41. We got back on the highway and the pressure gauge continued to decrease / increase with no rhyme or reason. It eventually went back to the correct pressure. A few days later, we were driving on the highway at 75 mph with the navigation set for an address that was about 60 minutes away. Quite randomly, the navigation voice came on and said "re-route" and wanted us to take a right turn (there was no way to turn or anywhere we could go). Bizarre! It seems like the car's circuitry/sensors are failing. It's alarming.
It has happened twice in 48hrs, driving then all of sudden indicates not in gear. Pull over , will not go back in gear. Will have to wait. Then later on starts. Then is no indication no warning. This is extremely life threatening.
When vehicle has not been sitting overnight or a long period, the initial start does not engage. My mechanic referred to it as a long cold start. To work around this I will push the start button with my foot off the break pedal and let vehicle cycle through whatever. I can then start as normal. Using the key fob the startup happens cleanly. My mechanic said there is a complicated TSB on this issue but I am unable to locate. They have verified it’s not a fuel pressure issue.
The vehicle was running but in park. I was putting air in my tires and heard something. I looked towards the passenger front and seen smoke coming from up front. The air ride pump caught on fire and melted wires, hoses, and the inner fender cover. I was able to put it out quickly.
I own a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5,7 summit trim, I've been experienced a very scary situation with this car on last 4 months, with no warnings this vehicle completely shuts-off, with no power, no radio, no dash lights. For few times happened on my drive way, but most the times I was on highway running between 45 to 70 mph, its come from the blue. But after the engine stops, it just restart like nothing had happened, no lights on dash no warnings. traveling on S Sterling Street in Morganton, NC on the morning of July 12, 2023. We were going speed limit20 mph on a one way street, then car made rumbling sound and accelerated on its own at approximately 60-70 mph. I put on brakes,but car did not slow down...weaved thru traffic to avoid hitting anyone..could not get car to slow down and unfortunately hit a car in front of us. All persons were taken to hospital..myself, my wife and person in the other car that was impacted. All persons suffered broken bones. Both cars were totaled. Since accident have read up on this type vehicle accelerating on its own. We were lucky no one was killed. This needs to be looked into before it takes a life.
We were driving on the freeway doing about 70mph when without warning the glass sunroof exploded. Not knowing what had happened we pulled over and opened the shade slider and glass rained into the vehicle. Had the shade not been closed, all the passengers would have been hit with flying glass. We did not see anything that would indicate something hit the vehicle; it seemed to just explode for no reason.
Vehicle shifts into neutral when driving down the road and then dies. There is no rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes it does it everyday, sometimes it doesn't do it for 6 days. Seems to happen within 3 to 7 miles of driving the vehicle. Took to Jeep dealer to see if they could figure it out. Over a month later and $1000.00 Jeep dealer replaced the PCM Pin (?) and checked wiring. Picked up the Jeep and 6 days later on way home from work it shifts into neutral going 58 mph down the road and stalls. 30 mins before it would start back up and allow me to drive it. Never any check engine light on, never and noises or chugging, the vehicle does this with no warning and after 5 to 30 minutes will start back up like nothing happened.
I've been experiencing an issue with the brakes on the vehicle not operating properly since 2022. The vehicle does not brake normally, and the brake pedal must be pressed completely down to the floor, or pumped repeatedly before the vehicle begins to slow, and when it does slow, the brakes are less than responsive. There have been several instances where despite allowing extra stopping distance and pressing the brakes all the way to the floor, the vehicle does not stop normally, and I've come dangerously close to being involved in a collision as a result. I've reported these issues to Jeep in the past when the vehicle was there for service, but it was not adequately evaluated. Passenger side (front) deployed randomly. There was no collision or impact when it deployed nor was there a passenger occupying it luckily.
MY RIGHT FRONT HEAD REST DEPLOYED WITHOUT A ACCIDENT
•Driver headrest deployed while driving for no reason. Vehicle is available for inspection. •When headrest deployed, it strike me on the back of my head causing uncertainty of what hit me. •The problem has not been reproduce. •The component has not been inspected by the manufacture, police, insurance representative, or anybody else. • There was no warning, lamps, messages, or any other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.
The hood ltah keeps sticking when we close the hood, it has been greased and still does not work properly. the hood almost flew open on the expressway.

Gear switching to Neutral while driving, stops abruptly, steering locks up, and the vehicle shuts down completely. In order to restart, the battery requires a jump. The battery is fairly new and shows good voltage. 05/29/2023 (UPDATE) The issue was corrected with the installation of a new battery. Although the battery (2.5 years old) was indicating good voltage levels during testing, it would dip below 9v while driving. As explained by the Jeep dealer mechanic, this was causing the vehicle to immediately shut down, lock steering, and abruptly halt. I believe it’s still a safety issue. If I had been on the freeway, it would have likely created a serious danger to anyone unable to stop, or maneuver, in time.
My jeep has been at the dealership for a year prior to this. On February 21,2023 I gave them a list of a weird smell in my cabin, broken, and missing parts. I was sent an email on the ‘March 14, 2023 saying my jeep was fixed and ready I went in on March 17, 2023 to pick up my jeep, from what I could see the broken pieces were repaired. I got in proceeded to drive, after I went maybe 16 miles one way, I had to turn around, there was a weird smell in my cabin. My eyes, and nose started running and my head was feeling weird. My vehicle ignition button got pushed into the dash and I was unable to start or stop my vehicle from running.
While stopped at a drive-through with my foot on my break, my head rest exploded, forcing my head forward. There was no accident and it deployed at random. The passive restraint system failed. Had vehicle been in motion it would’ve been a public safety risk. Appointment at the service center of the dealership has been made. It has not yet been inspected.
In reference to recall W79/20V-699, to date I have attempted on four (4) occasions to have the recall addressed by my dealership, Gettel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Punta Gorda, Florida without success. I have even contacted corporate about the problem to no avail. Is there anything you can do to force them to follow through on the recall repair?
