I BOUGHT MY 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA BRAND NEW. TODAY (MAR 22), I MADE A RIGHT TURN TO A RAMP INTO MY COMPANY SITE. SPEED WAS ABOUT 10 TO 15 MPH. ALL THE SUDDEN, I HEARD A LAUD ENGINE REVVING SOUND. I HAVE TO LET GO MY GAS PEDAL, WAITED COUPLE SECONDS AND THEN SLOWLY STEPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL TO MOVE THE CAR. IT ALMOST LIKE THE GEAR BOX WAS NOT ENGAGING ALL THE SUDDEN AND THE CAR SPEED STALLED. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN REALLY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD INVESTIGATE THE SIMILAR CASES AND MAKE THE MANUFACTURER FOR A REPAIR/RECALL.
MY 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW, AND HAVE HAD MULTIPLE POWER/ACCELERATION ISSUES; HOWEVER, THE MOST RECENT HAPPENED ON MARCH 19, 2019. WHILE DRIVING ON A STREET (EVENING TIME) WITH THE SPEED LIMIT OF 45, MY CAR STARTED TO SPUTTER/JERK BACK AND FORTH, ABRUPTLY BRINGING MY CAR TO A SPEED LIMIT OF UNDER 15 MPHS. I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, BUT THE GAS PADDLE WAS UNRESPONSIVE. THIS A MAJOR HAZARD AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, AND HYUNDAI CORPORATE OFFICE IS AWARE (I CALLED AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT), AND IS NOT DOING ANYTHING TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE. NHTSA NEED TO MAKE THE MANUFACTURER ACCOUNTABLE, BY REASON OF THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. I WAS CLOSE TO BEING REAR-ENDED, AND IF NOTHING IS RECTIFIED, IT WILL CAUSE AN OWNER TO BE SEVERELY INJURED.
MY 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING 60MPH ON THEY HIGHWAY DURING MORNING RUSH HOUR NEARLY CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT. THIS SEEMS TO BE SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM AFTER LOOKING UP THIS ISSUE WITH THESE CARS AND FURIOUS HYUNDAI HAS NOT SENT OUT NOTICES OF SUCH A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I DON'T HAVE CONFIDENCE IN THIS CAR TO TRAVEL WITH OUR CHILDREN.
WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY STREET, ON MARCH 19, 2019, MY 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA BEGIN TO SPUTTER AND NOT ACCELERATE OVER 10-15 MPH. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE. THE CORPORATE OFFICE IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS ELECTRICAL AND THAT IT WAS MY THROTTLE BODY. I PURCHASED THAT CAR NEW AND NOW IT HAS A LITTLE OVER 74,000 MILES ON IT.
ENGINE LIGHT IS IN AFTER RECALL IN REGARDS TO THE ENGINE LIGHT AND ELECTRIC ISSUE. THE CAR IS STOPPING AND THE GAS PEDAL NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE CAR STARTS SHAKING LIKE IT WANTS TO TURN OFF.
TOOK VEHICLE FOR A SAFETY RECALL ON FEB 22, 2019. AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP THE ENGINE STALLED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. NARROWLY ESCAPED GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT/ CRASH. VEHICLE IS BACK AT DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. I BROWSED THE INTERNET AND SAW THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL SIMILAR COMPLAINTS OF THE ENGINE STALLING. THE MAIN ISSUE I HAVE IS THAT NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME OF THIS PROBLEM. WILL IT TAKE CRASHES AND PEOPLE DYING BEFORE A RECALL IS ORDERD ON THIS KNOWN PROBLEM.
RECEIVED A SONATA'S ENGINE CONTROL UNIT LETTER, STATING A PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN ISSUED ON MY CAR, ON EXCESSIVE CONNECTING ROD BEARING WEAR IN THE ENGINE. I HAVE A SEVERE KNOCKING IN MY ENGINE, WHEN MOVING, ESPECIALLY WHEN EXCELLING UP A HILL,AND IT STATED THIS CAN CAUSE SEVERE ENGINE DAMAGE INCLUDING ENGINE FAILURE. TOLD SERVICE MAN AND HE STATED IF IT IS THIS IT COULD TAKE ONE-THREE WEEKS FOR REPAIR. WHY ISN'T THIS A RECALL. STATES FOR THIS VIN# -8 RECALLS, BUT DOESN'T LIST THEM?? HOW DO I FIND THIS OUT?

RHE MALFUNCTION ILLUMINATOR LAMP ICON CAME ON AND CAR SHIFTS INTO GEAR RATHER HARD AS IF YOU LET FOOT OFF GAS PEDDLE AND APPLIED THE BRAKES.IT DOES THIS WHEN FIRST STARTING OFF AND CONTINUES EVERY FEW MINUTES
I HAVE A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA WITH 24K MILES. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WAS FLASHING AS I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT FOR MY DAUGHTER TO PICKUP HER CAR. THE GARAGE OWNER SAID TO PULL IN MY CAR. THE DIAGNOSTIC READ OUT WAS P2600 OBS-LL. UPON RESEARCHING IT THE CODE SAID, COOLANT PUMP "A" CONTROL CIRCUIT?OPEN. THEY PROVIDED ME WITH THE PRINT OUT. THEY SAID TRY TO DRIVE IT. I DID & DROVE MAYBE 300 FEET & IT WOULD NOT ACCELRALTE ABOVE 15 MPH. I TURNED AROUND TOOK IT BACK TO THE GARAGE'S LOT. THE NEXT DAY I CALLED HYUNDAI ROADSIDE ASSIST TO HAVE IT TOWED TO SUPERIOR HYUNDAI SOUTH, WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR.THIS OCCURRED THURSDAY JANUARY 17TH. THE CAR IS STILL AT SUPERIOR HYUNDAI WAITING WORD FROM HYUNDAI MOTORS. DAVE THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID IT EITHER NEEDS A WIRE HARNESS OR AN ENGINE. NOT SURE...
2015 SONATA LIMITED, ENGINE EATS ALL THE OIL WITHIN 2 WEEKS AND NO CHECK OIL LIGHT COMES ON. NOW MY CAR WONT START, ONLY THING THAT HAPPENS WHEN I TRY TO START IT IS THE DASH LIGHTS COME ON LIKE ITS READY BUT THEN JUST SHUTS OFF. CAR JUST STOPED RUNNING ON ME AND MY PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND WHILE WE WERE ON THE INTERSTATE. I HAD TO TRY MY BEST NOT TO GET IN A BIG CRASH. NOW I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO AND NEED OR ONLY CAR. 7 WEEKS TILL THE BABY COMES....
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND SMOKE AND FLAMES WERE PRESENT COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE AND EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
CYLINDER 4 WENT BAD AT 113,000 MILES. OUT OF WARRANTY, HYUNDAI DID DECIDE TO COVER THE COST OF A NEW ENGINE. THIS HAPPENED ON 8-10-18 AND THE VEHICLE HAS STILL NOT BEEN REPAIRED. HYUNDAI HAS STATED THAT THE ENGINE IS ON BACK ORDER AND COULD BE THE 1ST WEEK OF JANUARY 2019 AND POSSIBLY LATER BEFORE THE ENGINE IS AVAILABLE. I HAVE HEARD FROM THE DEALER THAT THERE ARE CLOSE TO 10,000 HYUNDAI 2.0T ENGINES THAT ARE NEEDING REPLACED FOR THE SAME ISSUE. SO FAR 4 MONTHS OF CAR PAYMENTS AND CAR INSURANCE BEING PAID ON A VEHICLE THAT CANNOT BE DRIVEN.

ON HIGHWAY 70MP SONATA LOSES ALL POWER TOWED TO HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP.3 DAYS LETTER KNOCK WAS TO BLAME AN WIRING REPLACED.15 MINUTES AFTER PICKING UP SONATA AN REACHING SPEEDS OF 70 AGAIN ON HIGHWAY SONATA LOSES ALL POWER AGAIN ALMOST CAUSING PILEUP IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC GAIN SONATA IS TOWED BACK TO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP CONFIRMS ONLY PARKING LOT TEST WAS DONE NOT HIGHWAY AFTER REPLACEMENT EVEN KNOWING THE WIDE SPREAD ENGINE FAILURES / ISSUES SONATA IS HAVING AN CATCHING FIRE. VERNON AVE, ALEXANDRIA, VA 22301, 703-896-4735) WHERE IT WAS AWAITING TO BE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 58,076.
ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 12. 2018, I WAS DRIVING ON THE 78 HIGH EAST BOUND AND WAS ABOUT TO PASS ANOTHER CAR. AS MY CAR WAS ACCELERATED, THE CAR ENGINE LOST POWER. THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON. MY CAR WAS DECELERATED. I WAS LUCKY BECAUSE THE TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAY WAS LIGHT. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE CAR SLOWLY TO THE EMERGENCY PARKING AREA AND STOP THE CAR. I HAVE A CAR COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE AND HOOKED IT TO THE CAR COMPUTER. THE DEVICE READ AN ERROR CODE P1326_ GLOW RELAY STUCK ON THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST HYUNDAI DEALER. SO FAR THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS NOT TOLD ME WHAT WRONG WITH MY CAR AND HOW THEY FIX MY CAR..
I TOOK MY CAR TO PRIORTY HYUNDAI BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T START. THEY SAID IT WAS A ISSUE AND THEN PRIORTY HYUNDAI FIXED IT AND LET ME DRIVE IT. 3 WEEKS LATER IT DID NOT START. THEY SAY THEY FIXED IT BUT NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME TO TOW IT TO THEM SO THEY CAN CHECK IT. THEY SAY A RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. AND I HAVE TO WAIT 5 DAYS UNTIL THE CHECK IT. I AM MISSING WORK. THEY SAID IT WAS ALREADY FIXED. BEFORE IT STOP WORKING I TOOK A 5 HE TRIP. THE CAR WAS DEFECTED AND THEY LET ME DRIVE IT. IT STOPPED ONCE WHEN I WAS IN THE HIGHWAY COMING BACK LUCKILY TRAFFIC WENT AROUND ME UNTIL IT STARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME. NOW IT DOESN'T START.

ENGINE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHILE IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY. VEHICLE AT HYUNDAI DEALER. SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED THE PROBLEM AFFECTS HUNDREDS OF HYUNDAI VEHICLES AND THE CAUSE AND REPAIR IS UNKNOWN. HYUNDAI WILL NOT RELEASE THE VEHICLE TO OWNER WITH NO INFORMATION REGARDING TIME TO DIAGNOSE, REPAIR, AND RETURN TO OWNER
THIS CAR HAS RECEIVED REGULAR OIL CHANGE INCLUDING FILTER CHANGES AND THE ENGINE HAS BEEN FLUSHED TWICE BECAUSE EACH TIME THE OIL CHANGE MILES HAVE OCCURRED THE OIL IN THE ENGINE APPEARS TO BE MUDDY. THIS CAR IS ONLY BEING DRIVEN TO AND FROM LOCAL CITY LIMITS AND ONLY HAS 65,000. THE CAR STARTED BRAKING DOWN SLOWLY WITH NO EXPLANATION. 1ST BATTERY DIED CONSTANTLY WE PUT IN A NEW BATTERY, THEN THE STARTER FAILED WE REPLACED WITH BRAND NEW STARTER NOW THE ENGINE IS COMPLETELY GONE. ALL IN A MATTER OF ONE MONTH. BASED ON ALL THE 1,000 COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ ON THIS PARTICULAR CAR, ALL HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING. PLEASE THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED

ALSO I CHECKED THE VIN NUMBER ON VIN CHECK PRO AND IT SHOW THE CAR AS BRANDED ON 1/30/2017 IN TEXAS AS SALVAGE. IT ALSO SHOWS BRANDED ON 04/25/2017 IN TEXAS AS JUNK. THEY HYUNDAI CORPORATE OFFICE SAYS THEY DO SHOW THIS ON THIER RECORDS. COULD YOU PLEASE HELP BECAUSE AT THIS POINT I DO NOT FEEL THE CAR IS SAFE FOR MY DAUGHTER TO DRIVE. AFTER THE LAST RECALL WAS COMPLETE , THE FIRST TIME THE CAR WAS DRIVEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND THE CAR HAD LITTLE POWER. IT HAS BEEN A T THE DEALERSHIP SINCE THEN.

TO NOTE VEHICLE HAD A COMPLETE EVALUATION 1 WEEK PRIOR WITH NO CURRENT OR UPCOMING ISSUES. UPON STARTING CAR "ABS LIGHT, TRACTION LIGHT, BSD (BLIND SIDE DETECTION) LIGHT" CAME ON. UPON DRIVING, MY BSD SENSORS DID NOT OPERATE, AND ENGINE MADE WHISTLING SOUND UPON ACCELERATION AND WOULD NOT GO OVER 40MPH WITHOUT THE POWER BEING PULLED FROM THE ENGINE. ALSO TO NOTE MY CAR WAS APPARENTLY TRYING TO BE IN A HIGHER GEAR AT 30MPH (5TH GEAR). ALL OF THIS IS VERY SUSPICIOUS AS THE CAR HAS ONLY BEEN SERVICED AT DEALERSHIPS WITH MOST RECENT BEING 1 WEEK PRIOR. SERVICE DEPARTMENT SEEMED VERY POOR AT EXPLAINING THE CAUSE FOR THE SIMULTANEOUS MALFUNCTIONS OF ALL THESE SYSTEMS. I DO NOT CURRENTLY FEEL AS SAFE WITH THIS VEHICLE AS I HAVE BEFORE.

P0010 CODE AND P0011 CAN HEAR A METAL GRINDING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING ALSO FLUCTUATING RPMS. I KEEP IMMACULATE MAINTENANCE AND TAKE EXCELLENT CARE OF IT. ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW BUT PARKED CAR EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL, STARTED CAR NEXT DAY AND RPMS SHOT HIGH AND LIGHT CAME ON. THEY RESET LIGHT AND SAY NOTHING WRONG BUT THIS KEEPS OCCURING. HIGHLY UPSET AS I HAVE ABSOLUTELY LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS CAR UNTIL NOW.
AT AROUND 80,000 MILES CAR STARTED GOING DOWN HILL. IT HESITATES TO TAKE OFF FROM A STOPPING POINT. IT SHAKES SOMETIMES WHEN ABOUT TO ACCELERATE AND IT DOESN'T ACCELERATE VERY FAST ANYMORE GETS UP TO ABOUT 1800-2000 RPM BEFORE IT ACTUALLY PICKS UP SPEED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY 2015 SONATA 2.0 SPORT ENGINE STALLED WHILE I WAS WAITING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC (OAKLAND) PITTSBURGH, PA. VEHICLE WAS TYING UP TRAFFIC SO BAD THAT A UNIVERSITY POLICE OFFICER HELPED ME PUSH VEHICLE TO SIDE OF ROAD. GOT VEHICLE TOWED TO #1 COCHRAN HYUNDAI MONROEVILLE, PA. WAS INFORMED VEHICLE ENGINE SEIZED UP AND A REPLACEMENT WOULD BE NEEDED. BEEN WITHOUT VEHICLE SINCE MID MAY 2018, WHILE STILL PAYING CAR NOTE, INSURANCE AND CAR REGISTRATION! I NEED TO BE COMPENSATED!!! LUCKILY, ENGINE IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BUT STILL A BIG INCONVENIENCE!!!! HYUNDAI HOW WILL YOU SMOOTH THIS OVER WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS???
I CRANKED THE CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY AND IT WAS SHAKING A LITTLE, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS STRANGE AND WHEN REVERSED AND STARTED TO DRIVE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN THE CAR DIED. WHENEVER I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE MY VEHICLE IS IN DRIVE, THE RPM'S IDLE AT A DANGEROUSLY LOW LEVEL THAT UPON RELEASING THE BRAKES IN ORDER TO DRIVE AGAIN, THE VEHICLE SPUTTERS AND STRUGGLES TO TAKE OFF. A COUPLE OF TIMES THE VEHICLE HAS ACTUALLY STALLED OUT WHILE SITTING AT AN INTERSECTION WHILE TRYING TO DRIVE. THE ONLY WAY I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND A FIX TO THIS PROBLEM IS BY KEEPING THE AIR CONDITIONING ON WHICH APPEARS TO MAKE THE VEHICLE RPM'S RUN A LITTLE HIGHER IN TURN NOT ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO GET TO DANGEROUSLY LOW RPMS. OUR CAR WAS SERVICED BY SOUTHWEST HYUNDAI DEALER IN ALBUQUERQUE ON 7/6, AND ALTHOUGH IT WAS IDLING ROUGH, THEY TOLD US OUR CAR WAS SAFE TO CONTINUE OUR VACATION TO CO. THE NEXT MORNING, 30 MILES LATER ON I 25 WE WERE TRAVELING THE SPEED LIMIT, AND A CLANKING NOISE STARTED AND SMOKE POURED OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD...WE PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY. BILLOWS OF SMOKE. WE CALLED 911 AND ROAD ASSISTANCE. SANTA FE FIRE DEPT FORCED HOOD OPEN AND FLOODED THE ENGINE. CAR WAS TOWED TO SANTE FE HYUNDAI FIESTA. OUR INSURANCE COMPANY INSPECTED AND SAID THE CAR WAS TOTALED. HYUNDAI CORPORATE WILL BE INSPECTING THE CAR TO TRY AND DETERMINE CAUSE. ACCORDING TO GEICO ADJUSTER, THAT MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE. EVERYTHING MELTED.
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN STARTED UP. THE ENGINE STARTED THE RATTLE WHILE IN IDLE. AFTER LETTING THE CAR SIT FOR 10 MINUTES, PROCEEDED TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE ENGINE WOULD THEN RATTLE DURING ACCELERATION AND APPLYING MORE RPMS. THE RATTLE WAS DIRECTLY RELATED TO APPLYING MORE PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL. THIS CAR HAS 12322 MILES AND THE RATTLE STARTED TO OCCUR AT 12000 MILES TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE. VEHICLE WAS STARTED IN DRIVEWAY AND RATTLE WAS HEARD AT INTERSECTION AND THEN LATER ON HIGHWAY. I'M CONCERNED THIS RATTLE WILL DAMAGE THE ENGINE BUT SPECIFIC COMPONENTS ARE UNKNOWN.

DEALERSHIP SHARED WITH ME THEIR COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE WARRANTY COMPANY WHICH ASKED ONLY FOR PHOTOS OF THE PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THOMPSON HYUNDAI REPLACES TURBO BUT DOESN'T PUT ANTIFREEZE, TIGHTEN OIL SCREW (WHICH BLEW OIL ALL OVER ENGINE), AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN TEST DRIVE IT. DROVE VEHICLE, SMOKE STARTS POURING FROM THE VENTS, ENGINE OVERHEATS. VEHICLE GETS TOWED BACK TO DEALERSHIP. CURRENTLY VEHICLE HAS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, ROUGH IDLE AND DOESN'T ACCELERATE. ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE LOSS OF ACCELERATION. ALSO, THE SUNROOF WINDDEFLECTOR WHICH WAS RECALLED IS NOW COMING OFF AGAIN. DEALERSHIP USED A SMALL AMOUNT OF GLUE TO ADHESIVE IT BACK TO THE CAR. THE GLUE HAS FAILED.HYUNDAI NEEDS BETTER SERVICE TECHS. THEY HAVE DESTROYED MY CAR.
