Consumer Description

I SOUGHT SERVICE FOR LOUD LIFTER NOISE AT 50,000 MILES, BUT WAS TOLD THE NOISE WAS FROM AN AFTER MARKET (JIFFY LUBE (FRAM FILTER)). THE SERVICE DEPT. FRANK HYUNDAI, CHULA VISTA, CA DRAINED MY NEW OIL, AND DID A COMPLETE NEW OIL AND FILTER CHANGE. THE LIFTER NOISE CONTINUED. AT APPROX. 122,000 THE ENGINE BEGAN TO KNOCK WHILE ON THE FREEWAY - MASON AUTO, IMPERIAL BEACH, CA DID A COMPLETE ENGINE DIAGNOSTIC AND DETERMINED THE NOISE AS ENGINE KNOCK. FROM LIFTER NOISE TO ENGINE KNOCK. I CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR FOR FEAR OF COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE! MASON AUTO OF IMPERIAL BEACH, CA INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS THE FOURTH HYUNDAI THEY HAD DIAGNOSED WITH ENGINE KNOCK RECENTLY.
