CONSISTENT OIL LEAK; TRANSMISSION LAGGING ON SHIFTS WHEN STARTING OUT FROM STOPS; TRANSMISSION NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY
MY CAR HAS, SINCE THE TIME I BOUGHT IT, STUTTERED RANDOMLY WHEN ACCELERATING. THIS HAS CAUSED ISSUES WHERE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC FROM A STOP CAN BE UNRELIABLE, CAUSING ME TO FAIL TO ENTER TRAFFIC AT THE EXPECTED SPEED AND CAUSING INCREASED RISK FOR A COLLISION. I THINK IT MIGHT BE A TRANSMISSION, SINCE IT FEELS LIKE A GEAR IS SLIPPING. EVENTUALLY, THROUGH THE STUTTERING, I WILL GAIN ENOUGH SPEED TO WHERE IT STOPS BEING AN ISSUE. (POSSIBLY WHEN ENTERING THE NEXT GEAR)
HAD 2 ISSUES WITH DUAL-CLUTCH TRANSMISSION SINCE BUYING THE VEHICLE. CLUTCH WAS REPLACED ON MAY 13TH, 2019 FOR MY 2012 FORD FOCUS. I WAS STUCK ON THE HIGHWAY TWICE FOR THIS OCCURRENCE WITH THE VEHICLE JERKING WHILE IN MOTION THEN THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT COMING ON AND THE CAR STALLING OUT. THE VEHICLE THEN CAME TO A STOP AND COULD NOT BE RESTARTED. THE COST OF THE REPAIR WAS 2667.46 DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH. THE PREVIOUS TIME WAS DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE BUT WAS FIXED WITH NO ISSUES.
MY TRANSMISSION ORE SLIPPING IN FIRST GARE, I HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP THREE TIMES, AFTER ABOUT THREE MONTHS IT START SLIPPING AGAIN. IT'S DOING IT NOW. PLEASE CHECK FOR ALL OF MY RECALL ARE COMPLETE.
I AM THE SINGLE OWNER OF MY 2012 FORD FOCUS. I ONLY HAVE 54K MILES ON THE VEHICLE BUT IT SHUDDERS, JERKS AND FEELS LIKE IT FALLS OUT OF GEAR AT TIMES. IT HAS BEHAVED THIS WAY SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT. I PURCHASE 2012 FORD FOCUS SE JANUARY 21, 2019 FROM FAYETTEVILLE AUTO BROKERS, FAYETTEVILLE, NC. I WAS UNAWARE OF ANY RECALLS UNTIL I TOOK CAR TO BE SERVICED AT LAFAYETTE FORD, FAYETTEVILLE, NC ON 07/07/2019 LATER AND THERE WAS A CLUTCH RECALL. IT HAD 112,000 MILES AT THE TIME SO THAT PUT ME OUT OF WARRANTY WHICH SHOULD OF BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BEFORE PURCHASE. THEREFORE I WAS NOT FORWARNED NOR WAS I AWARE OF ISSUES WITH CLUTCH. NOW I AND STUCK WITH PAYMENTS AS WELL AS HIGH REPAIR BILL. THEN I FIND THIS ARTICLE LATE STATING REPLACEMENT OF FAULTY CLUTCH AT NO COST THAT WAS NOT FORWARDED OR MADE AWARE TO ME. MY CAR IS ALSO DEEMED UNSAFE DUE TO RECALL AND THE REPAIR SHOULD BE MANDATED AT NO COST BASED ON DECEPTION THAT STARTED THE DAY OF CREATION. IT IS ONLY FAIR THAT THIS WRONG IS CORRECTED.

THIS VEHICLE HAS A DPS6 TRANSMISSION AND IT CONSTANTLY JERKS, SHUDDERS AND SLIPS OUT OF GEAR WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. IT OFTEN FAILS TO ACCELERATE OR ACCELERATES SUDDENLY AND OUT OF CONTROL, ESPECIALLY WHEN GOING UPHILL. IT ALSO FREQUENTLY OVERHEATS, ESPECIALLY WHEN IDLING, DESPITE HAVING WORK DONE ON IT SEVERAL TIMES THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. WE BOUGHT THE 2012 FORD FOCUS AS A CAR FOR OUR DAUGHTER. WHEN TEST DRIVING IT, FOR A SHORT PERIOD, WE DIDN'T NOTICE ANYTHING WITH THE TRANSMISSION. MY FOCUS HAS HAD NUMEROUS TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS. MY CAR WOULD RANDOMLY NOT BE ABLE TO SHIFT INTO SECOND GEAR AND WOULD LEAVE STRANDED. WHEN I WENT THERE I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE MINIMUM $2K TO GET THE INTERNAL CLUTCH FIXED, IF THAT WAS THE ISSUE, UPWARDS OF $5K FOR THE OTHER TRANSMISSION...

I HAVE A 2012 FORD FOCUS TITANIUM HATCHBACK. I TOOK MY CAR INTO BOB TOMES FORD FOR A SHUTTERING PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD TO WAIT AND SEE TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR. MONTHS LATER I HAD THE TCM REPLACE AND NOW MY CLUTCH IS OUT. THESE WERE ALL ISSUES AT THE TIME I ORIGINALLY BROUGHT MY CAR INTO FORD. MY CAR HAS STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME, MY TRANSMISSION IS OVERHEATING AND ASKING ME TO PULL OVER AND WAIT 5 MINUETS. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS FOR MY CAR REGARDING THE FUEL SYSTEM AND GAS TANK, MY CAR EXHIBITED ALL THE SAME SYMPTOMS, I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP THAT REFUSED TO DO THE WORK UNLESS I PAI'D $2,000 FOR AN EXPIRED PREVIOUS RECALL FOR A DIFFERENT ISSUE THAT WAS UNRELATED. THEY CLAIMED WITHOUT DOING THAT WORK IF THEY DID THIS WORK THE CAR WOULDN'T WORK AT ALL. I COMPLAINED TO FORD WHO TOLD ME DEALERSHIPS DON'T HAVE TO HONOR RECALLS AND TO KEEP TRYING OTHER DEALERSHIPS. I ASKED WHAT TO DO IF NONE WOULD DO THE WORK AND THEY SAID PAY OUT OF POCKET. WORSE YET, THE FIRST DEALERSHIP CLEARED THE RECALL AS NOT BEING NEEDED, SO NOW I HAVE A DAMAGED CAR THAT I CAN'T GET THE RECALL WORK ON THAT I CAN'T AFFORD TO DO MYSELF. I'M GOING TO JUST HAVE TO SELL THE CAR.
WHEN PARKED AND GOING INTO REVERSE, THE CONSOLE LIT UP WITH "TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION SERVICE NOW" AND IT WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE. WE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, BUT A FEW DAYS LATER IT WOULD NOT EVEN GO INTO GEAR.

I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER IN DECEMBER 2018 STATING A RECALL ON THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE WOULD BE AVAILABLE THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2019. MY CAR HAS STALLED, HAS ISSUES WITH THIS AFFECTED PART AND CANNOT RELY ON MY VEHICLE. THE RECALL HAS NOT BEEN FULFILLED AND IT IS NOW MAY29, 2019. I HAVE AN ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT THAT COMES ON EVERY TIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN. IT'S UNRELIABLE AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE WITH THE LACK OF EXCELERATION.

MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE CAR TO WORK ON THE INTERSTATE SHORTLY AFTER 6AM IN THE POURING RAIN. TRAFFIC WAS MOVING AT ROUGHLY 65 MILES AN HOUR. AS TWO HIGHWAYS WERE MERGING TOGETHER, HIS VEHICLE LOST POWER. RPM'S WENT HIGH BUT VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. HE PUT ON FLASHERS AND PROCEEDED TO COAST INTO RIGHT HAND LANES, BUT ONLY HAD ENOUGH POWER TO LAND IN THE GORE, WHICH IS THE V WHERE TWO HIGHWAYS COME TOGETHER. HE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND TRIED TO RESTART, BUT IT WOULD NOT RESTART. IT TOOK 1 AND 1/2 HOURS FOR RESCUE VEHICLE TO ARRIVE WHILE TRAFFIC SPED BY ON BOTH SIDES OF HIM, LEADING HIM TO BELIEVE HE WAS LIVING HIS LAST MOMENTS. HORRIFYING! MY CAR HAD LESS THAN 90,000 MILES ON IT WHEN IT BEGAN TO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE ENGINE STUTTERS OR IDLES WHEN I ACCELERATE, WHICH HAS MADE GETTING ON THE INTERSTATE A NIGHTMARE. IF I ACCELERATE TO EVEN 35 MPH, I HAVE TO COMPLETELY REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL, OTHERWISE MY RPMS WILL SHOOT TO OVER 4 (4,000 RPMS). IT CAUSES MY ENTIRE CAR TO FEEL LIKE IT'S SHAKING, AND IT ALMOST SEEMS LIKE MY CAR IS HAVING TROUBLE SHIFTING GEARS. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT WHEN I'VE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND BEGIN TO DRIVE, MY ENGINE MAKES THE MOST TERRIBLE CHURNING/CLASHING/GRINDING NOISE POSSIBLE. TAKATA RECALL AFTER I WENT TO A GAS STATION AND FILL MY TANK UP WITH GAS DRIVE ABOUT 2 MILES THE CAR START TO STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WITH ME ALMOST CAUSE ME TO BE IN AND ACCIDENT LUCKILY I PULL TO THE SIDE TO AVOID THAT THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SUGGESTING I CHECK FUEL COMPONET AND SERVICE ENGINE
VEHICLE WAS ON A CITY STREET GOING ~ 40MPH, AND ENGINE CUT OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN ABNORMAL FUEL ODOR WAS COMING FROM THE VENTS AND THE VEHICLE REEKED OF FUEL. THE ODOR WAS SO STRONG THAT IT WAS A DISTRACTION TO THE CONTACT AND HER FAMILY'S HEALTH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JOE HALL LINCOLN FORD (1617 21ST STREET, LEWISTON, ID 83501, (888) 706-3381) WHERE THE MECHANICS REPAIRED A DOOR LATCH, BUT DID NOT REPAIR THE FUEL TANK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,637.
MY VEHICLES TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES AND HAD A TCM REPLACEMENT AS WELL AND STILL IS NOT WORKING IT IS ALSO HAD TWO CLUTCHES AND SEVERAL SOFTWARE UPDATES WITH NO SUCCESS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE, BATTERY, AND OIL SENSOR INDICATORS ILLUMINATED BEFORE THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. HINES PARK FORD (56558 PONTIAC TRL, NEW HUDSON, MI) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY INTERSTATE THE RPMS ON MY VEHICLE REVVED TO 5000, WOULDN'T ACCELERATE, AND QUICKLY SLOWED DOWN. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE A FEW MONTHS AGO AND I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD RECEIVE ANOTHER LETTER IN ABOUT 3 MONTHS ONCE THE NECESSARY PARTS WERE IN STOCK. I HADN'T RECEIVED THE FOLLOW UP LETTER SO I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER BUT I COULD SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE MY VEHICLE INSPECTED FOR CORROSION TO DETERMINE IF I EVEN NEEDED THE PARTS. THE EARLIEST APPOINTMENT I COULD GET WAS MAY 18TH, JUST FOR THE INSPECTION; NOT EVEN FOR THE ACTUAL REPAIRS. THE RECALL IS FOR THE FUEL VAPOR SYSTEM AND THERE'S A WARPED PART THAT IS CAUSING AN INACCURATE READING ON FUEL LEVELS WHICH MEANS I HAVE TO MAINTAIN AT LEAST A HALF TANK OF GAS AT ALL TIMES.
