The contact stated that the vehicle was not safe to drive. The contact related the failure to Ford Campaign Number: 14M02. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission clutch, the TCM, and the doors needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
Transmission won't move in reverse and goes slow in drive
Cars transmission went out at 64000 miles car started jerking then showed a message to use brake stop safely I pulled over and then said transmission hot give a few minutes then after a few minutes it said transmission ready then I tried to drive it and it did the same thing all over again. When I got it home I found out the reverse is out

The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where the failure could not be replicated. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving approximately 45 MPH, the failure persisted. The check engine and ECM warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the Transmission Malfunction message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the residence. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.

The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the RPM increased with the engine revving; however, the vehicle failed to respond. Additionally, the vehicle also failed to reverse as needed. The contact stated that the vehicle also failed to exceed 10 MPH while driving. No warning light was illuminated. THEN NOTICED ENGINE SHIFTING ISSUES, LOSS OF TRANSMISSION ENGAGEMENT WHILE DRIVING, NO-START, OR A LACK OF POWER. IDLES VERY ROUGH IN PARKED POSITION- SPITTING AND SPUTTERING. VEHICLE STALLING, LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING, RPMS AT 4 WHILE ON HIGHWAY @ 65-70 MPH AS IF IT NEVER CHANGED OUT OF 2ND OR 3RD GEAR. CALLED FORD AND HAD THE TCM UPDATED APRIL 2021 AT GABRIEL FORD DEALERSHIP,LIVINGSTON TEXAS.THE UPDATE DID NOT HELP AND I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO DRIVE IT LIKE I STOLE IT BUT THAT MAKES THE POWER-TRAIN ISSUES WORSE. FORD DEALERSHIP POINTED ME TO NHTSA TO WRITE A COMPLAINT. VEHICLE RANDOMLY STALLS IN TRAFFIC WHILE ACCELERATING ON THE INTERSTATE. TURNING OFF VEHICLE FOR A FEW MINUTES AND TURNING IT BACK ON USUALLY TEMPORARILY FIXES THE ISSUE. THIS HAS NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH AN EIGHTEEN WHEELER.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ALL POWER WAS LOST AND THE CAR WAS NOT CONTROLABLE. THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION LILGHT DID COME ON. I DID HAVE THE CAR TOWED AND IS APPARENTLY A KNOW WIRING ISSUE RELATED TO SERVICE BULLETIN TSB-131115.
6/18/20 CAR SEIZED UP AS IF HAND BRAKE WERE ON. LOUD GRINDING, SHAKING, BARELY MOVE ON ACCELERATION. FORD DEALER SAID NOTHING WRONG. 6/20/20. RETURNED TO FORD WITH SAME COMPLAINT BUT WORSE. REPAIRED TRANSMISSION LEAK. 8/11/20 TOWED TO AAA RECOMMENDED MECHANIC. SAID PROBLEM WAS BRAKES. MADE REPAIR. 8/31/20 SAME SYMPTOMS BUT MUCH WORSE. TOWED TO SAME MECHANIC. DO NOT HAVE RESPONSE YET. RESEARCHED SYMPTOMS ON MOTORBISQUIT, CARCOMPLAINTS, FORD CORPORATE WEBSITE. ALL SAY 2013 FIESTA TRANSMISSION IS A LEMON. MY CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.

IM NOT SURE IF I HAVE SELECTED CORRECT OPTIONS. BUT ALL I KNOW IS WHEN I SLOW MY CAR AND THEY TRY TO ACCELERATE THE CAR DOES NOT SPEED UP IMMEDIATELY IT TAKE FEW MINUTES. AFTER INFORMING THEM THEY JUST DISREGARDED SAYING THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH ALL FORD. THINKING IM A WOMEN AND DONT UNDERSTAND MUCH OF CARS I FORGOT ABOUT IT. ALSO, THE RPMS ERRONEOUSLY REVVED HIGH. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT DETERMINED. RED HILL FORD (602 MAIN ST, RED HILL, PA) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS-24520897. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
RECEIVED A COSTUMER SERVICE LETTER (15B22/19N07) STATING ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSION TCM AND TO BRING CAR INTO DEALER FOR EVALUATION/FIX. ONCE CAR WAS BROUGHT INTO DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD WE NEEDED TO PAY $200 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST OF THE CAR TO SEE IF IT IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS VEHICLE SUCH AS SKIPPING GEARS, LOSS OF POWER AND THE CAR EVEN STALLING OUT. IF THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE DUE TO DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION I FEEL I AS A CONSUMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY A DIME TO FIX THEIR PROBLEM. I AM AWARE OF A LARGE NEWS STORY THAT INVOLVED THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE TRANSMISSION ISSUES RESULTING IN SEVERAL DEATHS DUE TO ACCIDENT CAUSED BY THIS PROBLEM.
VEHICLE SHAKES AND SHUDDERS ON ACCELERATION. IT HAS LOUD NOISE AND DECREASED SPEED WHILE ON RAMPS OR INCLINES. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON A LOT AND WOULD OVERHEAT WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY. THERE WAS ALSO A FLUID LEAK UNDER THE VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET OR OTHERWISE, MY CAR'S ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT WILL COME ON. THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY JERK AND SLOW DOWN. NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL, IT WILL NOT GO OVER 30MPH. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN SLAMMED INTO SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO THE SUDDEN LOSS OF SPEED. I'VE TAKEN IT IN TWICE AND HAD THE GAS PEDAL REPLACED AS THE COMPUTER PICKS UP A PROBLEM BETWEEN THE CHIP AND THE COMPUTER. AND BOTH TIMES THE NEW PART HAS FAILED. I'VE LOOKED INTO THIS AND IT SEEMS TO BE A REOCCURRING PROBLEM ACROSS THE BOARD, AND A DANGEROUS ONE CONSIDERING FORD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM

THE CAR HAS DIFFICULTY SHIFTING GEARS AND HAS TROUBLE ACCELERATING PROPERLY
TRANSMISSION CONSTANTLY SLIPS. TRANSMISSION SURGES AND STALLS DAILY. THE TRANSMISSION ACTUALLY COMPLETELY WENT OUT 2 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE AND WAS REPLACED - THE TRANSMISSION NEVER WORKED PROPERLY. THIS CAR WAS IN FOR SERVICE ON 4 OCCASIONS AND LEFT SERVICE WITH THE SAME OR WORSE SYMPTOMS. EARNHARDT FORD IN CHANDLER, AZ STATED IT WAS FIXED EACH TIME AND PRETENDED THEY DID NOT FEEL THE SLIPS, SURGES AND STALLS WHEN TEST DROVE WITH ME AFTER SERVICE EACH TIME. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THEY WERE GOING TO DO. **I DO NOT HAVE SERVICE DATES WITH ME AT THIS TIME - THE DATE IN "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN" IS A GUESSTIMATE OF THE TIME AROUND SERVICING.

I HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED AFTER OWNING THE CAR A FEW MONTHS. AT ONLY 30K MILES. THANK GOD IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, SINCE THEN, THE CAR HAS CONTINUED TO MALFUNCTION. I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT INTO A DEALER SINCE BECAUSE OF THE OTHER COMMENTS AND COMPLAINTS I HAVE SEEN REGARDING THIS CAR. THE CAR CONTINUES TO JERK FORWARD WHEN MOVING FROM A STOP. PURGE VALVE CAUSED FUEL TANK TO BE SUCKED IN 3/4 OF AN INCH. WHILE DRIVING I HAVE SURGING AND WHEN STOPPED THE IDLE IS ERRATIC AND BOUNCES BETWEEN 1000 TO 2000 RPM. CAUSES CODE P0300 TO COME AND GO AND ALSO P0497 TO COME AND GO. EXTREMELY HARD FOR DEALERSHIPS TO FIND THE PROBLEM. I HAVE VIDEO AND PICTURE PROOF OF ISSUE.
HELLO THERE! IT'S BEEN A REALLY LONG STORY, BUT MY CAR HAS HAD A HISTORY OF TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS THAT HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE NOW ON FORD'S DOLLAR. IT'S BEEN HAVING THE SAME ISSUES NOW AND IT'S EVEN WORSE. IT'S NON DRIVABLE. THERE ARE TWO OPEN RECALLS FOR IT, 14M01 AND 14M02. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND WE'VE GONE BACK AND FORTH WITH MANUFACTURING, BUT IT'S SO BROKEN THEY CAN'T PULL THOSE CODES. THEY SAY THAT I NEED TO PAY FOR A TEAR DOWN (AT LEAST 1,200) SO THEY CAN DIAGNOSE IT TO SEE IF THEY'LL REIMBURSE ME. I'M OBVIOUSLY NOT GOING TO PAY FOR THAT AND I'D LIKE FORD TO PAY FOR IT, BUT THEY WON'T. I HAVE AN OPEN CASE WITH THEM, BUT REACHED THE END OF THE LINE. CAN YOU HELP?

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO JOE MYERS FORD (16634 NORTH WEST FREEWAY, HOUSTON, TEXAS 77040) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND CLUTCH ACTUATOR MOTOR FAILED, AND OIL WAS LEAKING FROM THE VALVE GASKET AREA. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED FOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE IN JULY OF 2017. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY MY CAR BEGAN SMOKING AND BEGAN TO OVERHEAT WHICH CAUSED A CRACKED CYLINDER HEAD THAT SPRAYED OIL ALL OVER THE INSIDE OF MY HOOD SPARKING A SMALL FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. THE COMPUTER BEGAN TO SHUT THE CAR DOWN AND DISPLAYED A WARNING MESSAGE THAT STATED SUDDEN LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE, PLEASE PREPARE TO PULL OVER SAFELY. JUST AS I READ THAT MESSAGE THE BRAKES STARTED TO LOCK AND THE STEERING BECAME HARDER TO TURN AS I TRIED TO GET OFF THE NEXT EXIT FROM THE EXPRESSWAY. I REINJURED MY BROKEN ANKLE IN TRYING TO KEEP STOP AND CONTROL THE CAR. ONCE PULLED OVER THE CAR CONTINUED TO SMOKE AND NO LONGER STARTED. VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED LOSS OF POWER WITH NO RESPONSE TO THE GAS PEDAL. CAR JERKS VIOLENTLY WHILE DRIVING MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER AND MAINTAIN. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN CAR IN MONTHS BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE TAKEN CAR TO DEALER 4 TIMES AND EACH TIME THEY ARE FIXING THE TRANSMISSION, BUT IT DOES THE SAME THING RIGHT AFTER GETTING THE CAR BACK. AVOID THIS VEHICLE DO NOT BUY.
BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW ON 12/22/2013 AND HAVE BEEN HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS FROM DAY 3 OF OWNING IT. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. IT GRINDS, CLICKS AND MAKES HORRIBLY LOUD NOISES. IT STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF TURNS AND I'VE ALMOST BEEN RAN OVER MANY TIMES. IT JERKS AND ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN WITHOUT ME EVENING TELLING IT TO. NOW AT APPROXIMATELY 54,000 MILES IT WILL NO LONGER EVEN START AND THE LIGHT SAYS "TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION SERVICE NOW." THE WRENCH LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT ALSO COME ON AND OFF, PERIODICALLY. FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS WELL AWARE THAT THEY PUT BAD TRANSMISSIONS IN ALL OF THESE NEW CARS AND WE HAVE BEEN ROBBED. IS IT GOING TO TAKE SOMEONE'S DEATH BEFORE SOMEONE DOES THE RIGHT THING IN THIS SITUATION?
MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION, JERKING, SHUTTERING, LOSS OF POWER. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT FORD SAYS IS BECAUSE OF THE AUTOMATIC CLUTCH.

TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS WHILE ACCELERATING, IT FEELS AS THOUGH CAR WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT SPUTTERING. INITIALLY CAR DRIFTED BACKWARD WHILE STOPPED ON A DECLINE. TRANSMISSION WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED, HAD MORE PROBLEMS AFTER REPAIRS, HAD TO REPLACE TWO FRONT TIRES, NOISE CAME FROM FRONT TIRES AND DASHBOARD VIBRATED. NOW TRANSMISSION IS SPUTTERING AGAIN WHILE ACCELERATING
WHEN I TAKE OFF FROM A STOP THE ENGINE CHUGS, JERKS, CHATTERS, AND GRINDS.
THIS CAR HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE . I COMPLAINED ABOUT TRANSMISSION AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I NOW NOTICE THAT THE FUEL IS NOT GETTING THE AN MOUNT. I M AVERAGING 20 TO 25 MILES EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS 33. I SEE IT JUMPS. I CALLED THEY SAID PLUGS DON'T HAVE TO CHANGE UNTIL 40000 MILES. THE MILAGE IS MOVING EVEN THOUGH I AM DRIVING IN A 10 MILE RADIUS.
CAR WORKS FINE AND THEN SPUTTERS AND COMES ALMOST TO A STOP. STATES THAT I NEED A NEW THROTTLE BODY. THE CAR HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE PURCHASE AND THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY NEVER CAN FIND A PROBLEM. NOW IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT IT IS THE THROTTLE BODY.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE POWER TRAIN/ENGINE MALFUNCTION WARNING LIGHT (WRENCH SHAPED) WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND REMAINED ON UNTIL I PARKED AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. AT THE END OF THE WORK DAY I STARTED THE CAR AND THE WARNING LIGHT WAS NOT ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO A FORD SERVICE CENTER AND WAS TOLD WIRES HAD MELTED TOGETHER AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MAKES NOISE WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 30-50 ML/H FROM DAY ONE. MANY TIMES, FROM STATIONARY TO MOVE, IT WILL SUDDENLY JUMP, ACCELERATE, HARD TO CONTROL. HAS KNOWN TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND SOMETIME WILL NOT START.
MY 2013 FORD FIESTA SHUDDERS AND OR BUCKS UPON ACCELERATION. MOVING FORWARD THROUGH INTERSECTIONS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS DUE TO THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE TRANSMISSION. MY 2013 FIESTA HAS HAD THE TRANSMISSION WORKED ON BY WAY OF A FORD DEALERSHIP AND PARTS REPLACED. I WORRY EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY CAR THAT IT MAY BE THE ONE TIME I DON'T MAKE IT THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. I WOULD NOT EVER PURCHASE ANOTHER FORD VEHICLE AGAIN. THE LAST TIME I HAD PROBLEMS WITH SHUDDERING THE DEALERSHIP HAD TESTED MY CAR AND THE SHUDDERING WAS WITHIN GUIDELINES OF PASSING UNDER THE FORD TESTS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I HAVE TO CONTINUE TO PAY FOR A CAR THAT COULD ESSENTIALLY BE A DEATH TRAP AND CONSIDERED UNSAFE.

HAD MISSOURI DEALERSHIP LOOK AT WHEN I FOUNDOUT THERE WAS RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION- STATED RESET COMPUTER ALL REPAIRED. CAME BACK TO NY WITH EXTENDED ISSUE TOOK TO TOWER FORD (GREAT NECK, NY) KEPT FOR A WEEK STATING THEY HAD TO DIAGNOSIS W/ 260 FEE. WAS THEN TOLD IT WAS A PART IN THE TRANSMISSION - NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND WILL COST $ 5,000.00 TO FIX. WAS TOLD I COULD DRIVE OFF LOT-TOOK TO OUTSIDE GARAGE IN GLEN OAKS, NY WHERE THEY INFORMED ME I HAD A HOLE IN MY TRANSMISSION THAT BY LOOKING AT COULD HAVE BEEN NOTED W/ NO DIAGNOSTIC NEEDED. TOWER CHARGED ME FOR THE 260 DIAGNOSTIC AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. FORD CORPORATE HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF...

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 18,000.

THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER DRIVING 10 MILES OR SO THERE IS A CRUNCH NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING. DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING. I HAVE WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THERE ISN'T A PART AVAILABLE FOR THE PROBLEM. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER THE PAST 13 MONTHS.
