The vehicle is experiencing a chronic, documented loss of engine coolant with no external leaks identified, accompanied by a persistent odor of burning coolant. Despite nine months of notification and two separate Ford authorized dealerships attempting repairs, the defect remains unresolved. To date, dealerships have performed only 'surface-level' pressure and dye tests. They have refused to perform thorough diagnostics despite the clear evidence of consumption. This creates a severe safety hazard: coolant loss on this engine platform is a known precursor to sudden engine stall and potential engine fire. By failing to identify the internal leak path, Ford is requiring me to operate a vehicle with an unpredictable mechanical deficit. The absence of a Warning Lamp (CEL) does not mitigate the risk; it confirms a mechanical failure that the current onboard diagnostics are failing to capture before a catastrophic event occurs.
Guessing the date below Truck shuts off when trying to take off and go. This has happened a few times and even pulling onto a main highway. This is a very dangerous situation, and I have contacted Ford and they have stated there is no fix for this. I have contacted Carvana which is where I recently purchased the truck within the past month and they state the recall was listed and there's nothing they can do it's up to Ford to fix a recall. They will not take the truck back and now we are stuck paying for over $30,000 on this truck and it keeps stalling on us. We cannot afford for it to just sit in our yard and pay for it if it's not running. We need help to get this fixed. We have no idea what's causing it but assuming it could have everything to...
Due to waiting for a recall fix for ( NHTSA #-25V455 ) My F150 Raptor has been having all listed failing issues, Miss fire at idle or when fuel is hot, issue starting on a handful of times. I have been driving it after 4 -5k miles of this and I was alerted today after replacing ( All Injectors, Coils, Spark Plugs, ETC ) That I may need a new engine. This could have caused a crash and is now costing me an entire engine due to no fix or parts availability. Thousands of Dollars for a new engine out of my pocket due to fuel starvation. Cylinder 4 Miss fire's at idle. They appeared once I returned home from the mountains back to texas with hot weather.
Description of Incident: The vehicle exhibits a severe and unpredictable transmission "shudder," "stutter," and hesitation during gear synchronization, specifically during 1st–3rd and 8th–10th gear transitions. This manifest as a violent "shaking" sensation and a loss of momentary acceleration while merging into high-speed traffic. This issue was first reported to an authorized Ford dealership on December 17, 2024. At that time, the vehicle exhibited harsh shifting and "shuddering" consistent with Ford Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 22-2428. Despite being under a 150,000-mile service contract, the dealer misdiagnosed the mechanical transmission defect as an engine misfire, resulting in ineffective repairs. The defect has persisted and worsened. The internal failure has been identified as a defective CDF Clutch Drum (Cylinder) where an internal bushing moves out of place, obstructing fluid flow and causing mechanical "slip." This is a known manufacturing defect documented in multiple Ford TSBs (22-2428, 23-2250, and 24-2101). Safety Risk: The failure...
I started smelling gas in the cabin of the truck when I came to a stop. As I was driving on the freeway I noticed my gas gauge going down rapidly. Within minutes I ran out of gas. Got the truck towed to Ford dealer. After diagnosing the issue I was made aware by Ford service department that one of the high pressure fuel injector cracked and was spraying gas out which caused me to run out of gas. With gas spraying in the engine I was at severe risk of a fire. No warning lights or messages appeared when this happened. After investigating I noticed Ford has a recall for this issue for other vehicles but not the F-150.
Vehicle lost all power and stalled while driving. Vehicle also stalled at idle when waiting at an intersection, and another time while waiting at a stop sign. No longer starts. Appears to not be receiving fuel and is returning code P0627 "Fuel Pump A Control Circuit / Open" and will crank but not start. Required towing back to my residence. FordPass sent a "Service Engine Soon Warning" stating "the powertrain control system has detected an electrical fault with the fuel pump and its associated wiring". The symptoms match those in 25V455 but this VIN number is not listed in the affected group.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that three months after purchasing the vehicle, while her husband was driving, the vehicle was driving roughly, and the transmission unexpectedly downshifted. The contact was unaware whether any warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that there was a misfire in cylinders #1, #3, #4, and #6. The spark plugs were replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, a month after the repair, there was an abnormal sound coming from the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the wheel bearing and axle had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle remained at the dealer unrepaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
24E08 for catalytic converter. Ford has a customer service program for other VINs. This is not included. This is a widespread failure based on forms I have read across various year. I have 95k miles and have owned for 4.5 years. They also stated the PCM software needs to be updated related to the catalytic converter. This is about a 3k repair. 24E04 covers this exact issue, but my VIN was on included.
I have a safety recall notice 24S55 / NHTSA recall 24V635 on my F-150. Ford requires 2-3 days to diagnose the problem due to current workload. During this diagnostic period, Ford refuses to provide a rental or loaner, leaving me without transportation. I use the truck for work, so I do not have a way to take the truck in for the recall without coming out of pocket for a replacement vehicle. My understanding is that this is a gray area, as Ford has not issued instructions to stop driving, so are not legally required to provide a rental vehicle during the diagnostic period. The fact remains I would have to take a financial loss to bring my vehicle in for this recall due to the diagnostic time. A simple solution would be for Ford to provide a replacement vehicle during this time. I discussed this with the dealership and...
I had driven the car about 15 residential miles to Home Depot and back. As I was driving into my driveway I smelled smoke and looked forward to see a puff of smoke coming out from the front, driver's side wheel well. I put the car in park and pulled the hook release control under the steering wheel. Suddenly flames were coming out the sides of the hood, about 12" high. I pulled the car quickly away from the house and trees. Put the car in park, as the flames were now engulfing the entire hood. I quickly got away from the car and called 911. The Fire Department is close to my house, yet by the time they arrived the car, including interior cabin, was fully engulfed in flames.
Power steering rack failure, while driving though a puddle less than 6 inches deep. Cost over $1900 to replace. My wife's 2014 volkswagen passat is able to drive though deeper water.. on 8/13 I was unable to move over on a road that had some puddles due to oncoming traffic. After driving though the small puddle my power steering went out. Took to the mechanic and he said its a known issue due to how Ford did not seal their wiring well under the trucks and it hangs lower allowing the water to seep into the cables and cause the powering steering rack to fail.. this is unacceptable its a truck a puddle should not cause a truck to loose power steering.
My truck completely shut down while leaving the shop and I was only going about 6-10mph. The dash alert stated "fuel accessory" or something in orange, sorry, I panicked a little:) I took it to Bradley Ford the next day and they couldn't fix it as they didn't know the issue. This happened a second time, but didn't shut off completely, it just felt like I was running out gas (full tank). I do live in Lake Havasu City, Az and it's hot here so I don't let my truck go below 1/2 tank hoping this will help avoid a major accident. Thank you! The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while reversing, the rearview camera image was black. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 5-8 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart, and the contact drove to the residence. The contact also stated that while driving from a complete stop, the vehicle sputtered. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention) and 25V455000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately...
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the exhaust baffles were making an abnormal ticking sound while the vehicle was idling. The contact also stated that the A/C outlet vent tab had separated from the vehicle, and the other tabs were loose. Additionally, the contact stated that while accelerating from a complete stop, the vehicle hesitated while responding. The contact stated that the vehicle made an abnormal squealing sound while driving at various speeds and while idling. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the serpentine belt and one of the pulleys needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact the repairs could not be covered under the powertrain warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.
My f150 has 47k miles and it’s been serviced every time it was supposed to and the engine failed. Oil leaking into the engine destroyed it. I looked up 2021 F150 v8 coyote engine and it’s a known issue
I was turning left from a side street onto a divided highway and stopped in the middle to wait for an opening in traffic. When one came I hit the gas and nothing happened. Pressed it again, to the floor and nothing happened. I then put the truck into reverse to back out of the way of traffic because the truck rolled forward a bit when I attempted to accelerate. I then waited for a very large opening and attempted to accelerate again. Pushed the pedal and again nothing. I then pressed it to the floor and held it there. The truck very slowly began to accelerate and then after about 20 seconds accelerated like normal. The truck seemed normal the rest of the way home.
My engine failed. They recalled this engine but mine wasn't recalled. My engine did the same thing as the recalled engine did. Excessive oil consumption. When I first took it to Ford dealership it was under 60K. I have had problems with my truck since Easter have taken it to them a few times. The problem was never fixed and now Ford will only cover 4,950. The engine is 12k. I feel since the engine in my truck was a recall on alot of engines. Mine should be covered under recall or warranty up to 60,000 miles. I have nothing but problems since I bought the truck. I started taking the truck to have it looked at since March to other places they couldn't help me so they told me to take it to the dealership. They keep fixing something on the truck but never the part that was broken....
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact became aware of oil underneath the vehicle. The contact stated that after turning off the vehicle, the steering wheel failed to lock as designed. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic for an oil change, and it was determined that there was an oil leak; however, the mechanic was unsure where the oil was located. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,600.
Vehicle is consuming excessive amounts of motor oil, requiring the addition of 1-2 quarts every 1,200-1,500 miles. Check engine light has illuminated once when engine was five quarts low, this was when I realized the problem. Ford has attempted to correct with TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 19-2365, (5.0L - Excessive Oil Consumption) which I had performed on my vehicle and it did nothing to correct the issue. My greatest concerns are with premature parts failure and unexpected engine failure. I have written letters to Ford regarding this issue and have not received any response to date. I do have records of additional oil added since first realizing the issue existed.
My truck falls in the recall for the valve failures and they finally have parts to do the test but there is tons of documents and articles saying Ford agreed with NHTSA to provide a 10 year 150k warranty to people who fall in this recall. per you guys investigation EA23007 under 24N12. When I talked to Ford and the dealer they say that's not a number. Just on principle this is crazy. I bought my truck thinking well atleast Ford is taking care of people on this. After reading the states summary saying Ford would provide that.
While stopped at a traffic light or in an intersection preparing to make a turn, the vehicle’s engine will randomly shut off. Simultaneously, a pre-collision warning appears on the display. This causes the vehicle to become temporarily disabled, even as oncoming traffic approaches. To recover, the driver must shift the vehicle into park, restart the engine, and quickly accelerate out of the way to avoid a potential collision.
Received safety recall October 2024 stating vehicle may crash - have not received any further notice about repairs
The engine can fail at any time. The truck has not been fixed in a timely manor. I pull trailer with livestock. I need to declare the lemon law on this vehicle to get one that is reliable.
This safety recall was issued in August of 2024 on an engine valve, this is the only vehicle I have. The engine valve has the potential to crack increasing my risk of crashing, I have a 3 year old. I called Tomball Ford last year in November and was informed they would have the parts by January 2025. It is now May 2025 and no parts or correspondence for the dangerous matter. In fact another recall has been issued
Harsh shifting, abrupt or hard shifts. Hesitation and delays when accelerating feels unsafe, especially at highway speeds. This is an ongoing issue and has been going on for quite some time. Cannot pinpoint a specific date.
Trucks been in to Ford for repairs 38 times for force motor shuts down while driving. Ford wasn’t able to duplicate so they kept blowing me off. Finally morries of Okemos actually drove truck 45 minutes like I requested because it only shuts down after truck warms up. They have got it to finally shut down and have realized the panic of not being able to start back up until it’s in park and how dangerous it is to be driving 70 on highway and if you break it does force motor shut down. Ford refuses buy back and vehicles not safe to drive. They still have no answers. At this point I’ve went 245 days without a vehicle while being in and out of shop. Mine isn’t the only one out there. There telling people if they can’t duplicate when they drive it they can’t fix it. Problem is...
Failure to remedy engine valve recall. Was informed that a remedy would be ready by Q1 of 2025. That deadline has passed and nobody at Ford has any information.
Multiple times now while driving at low speed and usually making a right hand turn, the throttle becomes totally unresponsible to driver input. Pressing the throttle does not increase ICE rpm and does not accelerate the vehicle. This has occured while entering active roadways and has created a dangerous situation multiple times. Someone will be injured with these vehicles, it is only a matter of time if this failure to accelerate issue is not recalled and fixed. The date below is only the last incident. I now have over 120K miles and it has done this well over 50 times.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle made an abnormal knocking sound. The transmission warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing erratic transmission shifts and was making an abnormal knocking sound while driving. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the cause of the abnormal knocking sound could not be determined; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where an unknown diagnosis was provided, and unknown repairs were performed. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was difficult to start. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.
While traveling on a local highway in the far left lane, the engine completely died (no engine light came on). I was trying to negotiate traffic while getting to the shoulder of the road, and the transmission began shifting itself into park. I grabbed the shift lever trying to prevent it from going into park; however, it did just as I reached the shoulder of the road. At this point, I had slowed to ~25 MPH, but it still locked the tires up and slid a few feet. After turning the key off, removing it from the truck, and opening the door, I was finally able to restart it and I went straight to my local mechanic. He attached a code reader; however, there were no codes displayed. He stated they probably cleared out when I restarted the truck. This happened a couple of months ago, but my wife has...
Whining or whistling noise at idle. Bangs when shifts to lowest gear.
My truck has a 2.7 eco boost engine than has failed around 134,000 miles. The truck had a couple of misfires over the last couple of months, but otherwise no issues. I drove the truck one Saturday, did not drive Sunday, and on Monday I am told the engine is completely seized and I am responsible for replacing the engine. Ford will not attempt to determine if the recall for the valve intake stem has caused the issue and now I am spending over $12,000 to replace a 4 year old engine with no other issues.
I was stopped at red light intersection my truck went into idle mode (start/stop) when light changed I tried to proceed through the truck engine/electrical transmission locked up. I had to turn the truck completely off and open one of the doors to be able to restart the truck and move through the intersection. it has done this repeatedly I have taken it to Ford they have tried to charge me an astronomical amount to diagnose it.. with no guarantee of it being fixed. I have almost been rear ended 3 times!
Recall with no remedy.
The intake valves failed in my 2021 ford f150 and has caused major engine damage the truck is un drivable now and ford REFUSES to help me in any way they said the recall is expected to have a remedy in 2025 so until then I’m just stuck they will not give me a loaner vechile or anything
At 30k I noticed the transmission start shifting hard especially when down shifting. I called the dealer and expressed by concerns when doing my normal oil changes. The dealer said it was normal. Now at 42k the truck skips 2nd gear and when shifting between 3rd and 4th it hits hard. Also an independent mechanic shop said the engine is making a weird winding sound. Sounds like the barring in the turbos are going. Again I tell the dealer and they said it's normal for the 3.5 ecoboost to sound like that. Currently it's at the dealer getting the transmission worked on. I know I will be having engine issues, that sound is not normal. I want it on record that it started happening around 30k.
I’ve had multiple “service engine soon” errors appear while driving normal highway conditions. The same code appears on my mobile application as the following… Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power What Is Happening? Illuminates when the system has detected a powertrain or a four-wheel drive fault. What Should I Do? A Powertrain or All Wheel Drive (AWD)/Four Wheel Drive (4WD) fault has been detected, contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible. These codes have been noted on the following dates. 8-25-2024 and 9-6-2024
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Bronco, F-150, Edge, Explorer, Lincoln Nautilus, and Lincoln Aviator vehicles equipped with either a 2.7L or 3.0L Nano EcoBoost engine. The engine intake valves may break while driving, which can result in engine failure and a loss of drive power. My veh is experiencing this issue FOrd need to release the recall for repairs to be complete.
I've experienced the loss of power during hard acceleration. Right hand turns from a stop feel like the engine has stalled and rolling right hand turns are becoming increasingly more dangerous. Most recently as I was merging onto a highway. Pedal to the floor, the truck initi9ally accelerated for a couple seconds until it stalled to make the truck not only not accelerate but almost made it feel as if I was breaking. This is very dangerous.
My 2.7 Ecoboost motor failed while driving in traffic, Ford replaced the entire engine due to catastrophic failure of the valves, looks relative to recall Manufacturer Name : Ford Motor Company Submission Date : AUG 23, 2024 NHTSA Recall No. : 24V-635 Manufacturer Recall No. : 24S55 I am working with Ford now on a way forward, there were no symptoms prior to failure and the vehicle stopped immediately and was almost struck numerous times in traffic. I can attach Ford documents at a later time.
Cruising highway speeds, when accelerator is pressed to gain speed, make a pass, ect the transmission downshifts into 3rd gear, engine losses all power for 4-8 seconds while accelerator is held down. I’ve almost been in several accidents due to expecting a vehicle to accelerate and nothing happening and traffic
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was shuddering and jerking while driving. The check engine warning light was flashing. The contact stated there was another unknown warning light flashing. The contact stated that the soy-based wiring was causing costly repairs. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the wiring in the undercarriage was chewed on. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred a month later. The contact stated that while driving 35–40 MPH, an unknown warning light started to flash. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the soy-based wiring had been chewed on by squirrels and chipmunks. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.
Was slow rolling to stop light at intersection. Vehicle shut down and got an alert that said “auto start stop shift to P, then restart engine”
--Exhaust leak, at left first band clamp downstream from catalyst --Safety is of immediate concern due to exhaust leak directly under driver seat --Local Ford dealership service dept did not fix leak --Exhaust leak was inspected and reported to local Ford dealer service dept- NOT fixed On 20 November 2023, I purchased a 2021 Ford F-150 XL, VIN: [XXX] , from Crain Ford of Jacksonville, Arkansas, 1800 School Drive, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076. Phone 501-436-4981. After driving the vehicle for a day, I noticed a fluid leak on my garage floor under the vehicle’s engine area. On 21 November 2023, I took the vehicle to the dealership, which I bought the truck from, Crain Ford or Jacksonville, AR. They inspected the underside and found no leaks and suggested I just keep an eye out for any fluid leaks. The next week I kept watching for leaks, and each day I saw...
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated while stopped the vehicle was at a stop light, the vehicle displayed a message reading "Service Advanced Auto Track," requiring the vehicle to be shifted into park and restarted. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The engine kill switch warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to three individual dealers, who were all unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 31,000.
3.3L V6 F-150 started to heavily vibrate when vehicle was started. Check engine light came on. Check engine code was cylinder 1 misfire. Coils and injectors were changed. It didn't fix the problem. Upon further investigation there was damage to piston. Full Engine replacement is required.
I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection in an Atlanta suburb. I was several cars back from the red light. I saw the light turn green so I took my foot off of the brakes to engage auto start and barely tapped the gas and the truck dinged and showed me an error on the screen. I was so mortified and my heart started racing that I could barely read the error, all I remember seeing was "Shift to P." However, I tried to shift to Park and the shifter wouldn't do anything! I was desperately trying to engage the brake and shift to Park or Neutral and it wouldn't budge. I kept trying back and forth back and forth trying anything to get it to shift. It finally shifted to Park. I turned truck off. Opened the door, closed the door, and restarted engine and...
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving over a speed bump at approximately 15 MPH, there was a loud grinding sound coming from the vehicle before the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle and the vehicle was later towed to the local dealer. While at the local dealer, the mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine had seized and needed to be replaced. The mechanic stated that parts of the piston and valve spring retainer were found inside the oil pan. The engine was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,966.
I have notice on my truck as im driving and I engage the gas pedeal the engine doent repond. it takes a while for the pedal to kick in. this happens at random times as I drive but the hestiation is there.
Catastrophic engine failure that left vehicle disabled on Highway. Neither I or recovery technician was able to put into neutral after. Truck was powered on it was not possible to move the shifting lever from Park after it was engaged.
