2021 FORD F-150 Electrical System Integrated Trailer Brake Control Problems

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the trailer brakes became inoperable. The trailer brake system failure message was displayed. The local dealer was contacted, where it was diagnosed with a TRM failure, an unknown TSB, and an unknown software update were completed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure existed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer for NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V132000 (Electrical System) prior to the failure. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

2021 FORD F150 PICKUP- Consumer states "I Purchased a new 2021 Ford F150 pickup from Capitol Ford in Carson City Nevada. I have 5-6 outstanding safety recalls. I having been trying to get the dealership to give me an appointment date for these for over a year and a half. I have also contacted Ford Motor Company who contacted the dealer last tall to try to get me an appointment. At the time the dealer told them I was scheduled to be called March of 2023 to schedule an appointment. Its now almost June and I still have not received an appointment. The next closest Ford dealer to me is over sixty miles away so it is not easy for me to go there nor do they give me a loaner or transportation to and from that dealership. Trailer brake system fault. This fault warning displays when there is a possible lack of trailer brakes. On this vehicle it is on every time the vehicle starts. It began after the recall for the trailer brake module update in June of 2022. It has been to the servicing dealership 4 times and has been there for the past 23 days without resolution. There are many other accounts of this situation on-line also with no resolution.

The standard trailer brake controller does not function. I have tried it on 2 known trailers that function with other trucks and this truck's does not work.

While pulling a trailer, truck stops recognizing trailer brake connection without warning. Driver only notices truck brakes are no longer working because trailer is pushing truck while stopping. All other trailer connections, lights, turn signals, are working. When applying trailer brakes from truck controller, truck message says no trailer connected. This problem is intermittent and unpredictable. Sometimes it can be corrected by reconnecting 7 pin adapter but sometimes this does not work and the truck battery has to be disconnected and reconnected. Online forums show this to be a common problem.
