TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AUTOMATIC FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AND HILL DESCENT DISABLED MESSAGES WERE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ADDITIONALLY, THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER NOR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,091.

THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. KOERNER FORD LOCATED AT 805 WEST GENESEE ST, SYRACUSE, NY 13204, AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
SITTING AT STOP LIGHT (HIGHWAY) LIGHT TURNED GREEN PRESSED ACCELERATOR .CAR'S RPMS WENT UP CAR DID NOT MOVE. I WAS THE AT THE STOP LIGHT, CARS APPROACHING FAST. FORTUNATE LIGHT TRAFFIC ALL CARS WERE ABLE TO SWITCH LANES WITH OUT ANY MISHAPS. INDICATOR "SERVICE TRANSMISSION NOW" WENT ON CAR LUNGED A FEW TIMES THEN MOVED FORWARD. EACH TIME I STOPPED SAME EVENT OCCURRED. I DROVE BACKROADS AS NOT TO INTERFERE WITH MAJOR TRAFFIC AND FEARFUL OF NOT MOVING AND CREATING A MAJOR INCIDENT. NO PRIOR SYMPTOMS IT JUST HAPPENED. 2015 FORD ESCAPE.

THE REPAIR WAS STILL PENDING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. WITHIN LAST WEEK, TWICE WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ON A CITY HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. LIGHTS, RADIO, DASHBOARD, ETC. ALL CONTINUED TO WORK. NOTIFICATION CAME ON DASHBOARD STATING "WARNING, VEHICLE IS NOT IN PARK." FORTUNATELY, IN BOTH INSTANCES I WAS ABLE TO COAST ONTO THE SHOULDER INTO A PARKING LOT AND AVOID CAUSING A WRECK OR BEING WRECKED INTO. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE! WITH CAR SAFELY IN A PARKING LOT, I MOVED MY TRANSMISSION INTO PARK. I TURNED MY KEY TO THE "OFF" POSITION. I REMOVED MY KEY. I REINSERTED THE KEY AND TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE. LIGHTS, RADIO, DASH, ETC. ALL CAME ON. HOWEVER, VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THERE WAS NOT A "CLICK" AS IF THE ENGINE WAS TRYING TO TURN OVER. THERE WAS ONLY A NOTIFICATION OF "SYSTEM START FAULT." I TRIED OUR SPARE KEY, AND RECEIVED SAME NOTIFICATION. VEHICLE WOULD NOT ALLOW ME...
AFTER ONLY 83,000 MILES, MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE TRANSMISSION HAS COMPLETELY FAILED. I WAS DRIVING ON A TWO-LANE STATE HIGHWAY WENT I FELT A JERKING MOTION. THE CAR EVENTUALLY LOST ALL POWER AND STALLED. I RESTARTED IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND IT STARTED BUT REVVED INTENSELY. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO MOVE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURN ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS. THE CAR THEN REVVED WHEN I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. I COULD NOT GET IT TO GO INTO REVERSE OR HIGHER GEARS. I TURNED IT OFF AND ON HOPING IT WOULD RESET. EVENTUALLY I GOT IT TOWED TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. I AM A CONSERVATIVE DRIVER WHO KEEPS HIS MAINTENANCE UP TO DATE. NO SPEEDING TICKETS. NO DRIVING IN HARSH CONDITIONS. CAR IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAYED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS IN REVERSE GEAR WITH THE BACK UP CAMERA ACTIVATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERS WHILE PARKING IN A PARKING LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS LOCKED INTO REVERSE AND WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL, PARK, OR DRIVE. THE CAR NEEDED TO BE TURNED OFF WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN PLACE SO THAT IT WOULD NOT CONTINUE TO TRAVEL IN REVERSE. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE CAR, THE SHIFTER REMAINED IN THE R POSITION BUT THE DASHBOARD NOW DISPLAYED THE CAR WAS IN N. THE SHIFTER WAS EVENTUALLY FORCED INTO THE PARK POSITION, BUT THE DISPLAY REMAINED IN N. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP AND THE SHIFT CABLE BUSHING WAS REPLACED. THERE HAVE BEEN PART RECALLS ON THIS PART IN EARLIER MODELS OF FORD ESCAPES AND ON THE SAME YEAR (2015) OF FORD FUSION MODELS.
WITHOUT ANY WARNING (NO GEAR SLIPPAGE, NO GRINDING, NO DIFFICULTY SHIFTING INTO GEAR, NO SEAL LEAKS, NO ROUGH GEAR CHANGES, NO BUCKING, NO LOSS OF POWER, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT) THE TRANSMISSION IN MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE ES (1.6L ECOBOOST) FAILED COMPLETELY AT 103,250 MILES WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, CAUSING THE SUDDEN INABILITY TO ACCELERATE, RAPID DECELERATION AND THROWING THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THE TRANSMISSION FAULT SERVICE WARNING DID NOT ILLUMINATE UNTIL MUCH LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AS A FORD CPO (FORD CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED) WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY UP TO 100,000 MILES AND REGULAR ON-TIME MAINTENANCE COMPLETED. THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. FULL TRANSMISSION FAILURE FOR THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL IS LISTED IN FORD'S TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS AS A KNOW ISSUE, AND WHEN CONTACTED, FORD MOTOR COMPANY DENIES ANY KNOWLEDGE OF FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS IN THE 2015. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAS APPROX 45,000 MILES, REGULARLY SERVICED. HUSBAND DROVE HOME FROM WORK AND HAD ISSUES ACCELERATING. RPM'S WOULD GO UP BUT THE CAR DIDN'T SEEM TO RESPOND VERY WELL TO PUSHING ON THE GAS. TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD US THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AS A PIECE OF IT (NOT SURE EXACTLY WHAT PIECE) HAD BROKEN OFF WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION AND HAD DESTROYED IT.
DRIVING MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE 1.6 TURBO ON INTERSTATE, STARTED TO FEEL LIKE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING BUT A FEW DAYS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON CODE P26B7 AT DEALER (CODE P0012 AT O'REILLY AUTO PARTS). O'REILLY SAYS IT WAS A GENERIC CODE FOR "CAM SHAFT SENSOR" BUT FORD SAYS THE CODE P26B7 IS COOLANT BYPASS VALVE C NEEDS REPLACED COSTING ABOUT $500. I NOTICED THERE ARE A TON OF OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME 2015 ESCAPE AND EVEN A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM ON THE 2014 FORD ESCAPE 1.6 TURBO. OBVIOUSLY THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THE 2015 AS WELL! ALSO FORD DEALER MIKE MURPHY FORD IN MORTON IL SAYS MY TRANSMISSION IS FINE THOUGH I DON'T FEEL LIKE IT IS.

PURCHASED MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE 10/12/19 FROM CARDINALEWAY HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP IN CORONA CA. FEBRUARY 1, RETURNED TO DEALERSHIP FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. 02/07/20 I WAS GOING TO LUNCH AND WHEN I PUT MY CAR IN DRIVE IT SOUNDED LIKE I WAS DRAGGING SOMETHING UNDER THE FRONT OF THE CAR. PARKED CAR IMMEDIATELY AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO SAYS MY IT'S MY TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION ALMOST FELL FROM THE CAR. NO WARRANTY AND NO REMEDY AS IF YET.
WE WERE DRIVING ON A RURAL HIGHWAY AT A STEADY SPEED WHEN WITH NO WARNING OUR VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION POWER AND CAME TO A DEAD STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. WHEN WE PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL THE RPMS WOULD YOU UP BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON WOULD RESTORE POWER FOR ONLY A MOMENT BEFORE WE LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. THANK GOD WE WERE NOT ON THE HIGHWAY OR THIS COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH MORE SERIOUS. AFTER PUSHING OUR CAR A HALF MILE THE CAR FINALLY GAVE ME A FAULTY TRANSMISSION ALERT. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 71K MILES AND RECEIVES REGULAR MAINTENANCE. THE CAR A 2015 FORD ESCAPE SE AWD WITH ~ 86,600 MILES WOULD SHUT OFF AND HAVE TO BE RESTARTED AFTER SITTING FOR AWHILE. IT ALSO STARTED TO RUN A LITTLE ROUGH. SO I TOOK INTO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND A TUNE UP ON DECEMBER 24TH 2019. AFTER THE TUNE UP IT STILL EXHIBITED THE SAME ROUGH RIDING AND SHUT OFF. THE NEXT DAY ON DECEMBER 25TH AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT SHUTOFF INITIALLY AND HAD TO BE RESTARTED. WHILE BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY IT SHUDDERED VIOLENTLY AND WHITE SMOKE POURED OUT OF THE TAIL PIPE. I PULLED IT BACK INTO THE GARAGE, AND TOOK IT BACK TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING MORNING DECEMBER THE 26TH. AFTER SOME TIME THE ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS LEAKING COOLANT INTO THE ENGINE, AND THAT ONE OF THE SPARK PLUGS HAD BEEN FOULED WITH COOLANT. AFTER MORE TESTING...
TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 150,000 MILES. REQUIRED TRANSMISSION MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED.
OUT OF NOWHERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY VEHICLE REFUSED TO MOVE FROM STOP LIGHT, BLOCKING THE LANE. RPM WENT UP NO ENGAGEMENT NOT EVEN A BIT. TURNED IGNITION OFF/ON, PUT IN DRIVE, CAR MOVED 100 FEET AND STOP AGAIN. I REALIZED THIS ISN'T A FLUKE BUT SERIOUS PROBLEM, SO AFTER SEVERAL TRIES BY SWITCHING HESITANTLY FROM N TO D TO S WAS ABLE TO DRIVE ABOUT 300 FEET TO CLOSEST SAFEWAY PARKING AND CALL FOR TOWING. LONG STORY SHORT, AFTER SPECIALIZED TRANSMISSION SHOP IN THE AREA WAS ABLE TO CHECK IT OUT AND TAKE IT FOR TEST DRIVE VERDICT WAS "ITS PROBABLY NOT THAT BAD, SOMETHING IS BLOCKING TRANSMISSION FILTER, SEEMS LIKE TRANSFER CASE ISSUE, WE SEE THAT A LOT ON AWD MODELS FOR THESE ESCAPES. HOWEVER ONLY AFTER WE TAKE IT OUT WE CAN DECIDE IF SOMETHING IS BROKEN IN TRANSMISSION ITSELF " SO APPARENTLY THIS WAS...
TRANSMISSION CABLE BROKE SUDDENLY WHILE PARKING. CAR WOULD NOT START. HAD TO BE TOWED.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD, AND OUT OF NO WHERE, MY CAR JUST STOPPED MOVING. IT WAS STILL ON, BUT WOULDN'T MOVE. AFTER PUTTING THE ACCELERATOR ALL THE WAY DOWN, AND AFTER ABOUT 20 SECONDS, IT FINALLY MOVED BUT WAS REALLY JERKY FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL MINUTES UNTIL I WAS HOME. WHEN I TRIED TO TAKE IT TO GET CHECKED, IT DID THE SAME THING. I PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED MY CAR OFF, WAITING SEVERAL MINUTES, AND STARTED IT AGAIN. IT WOULD RUN FINE FOR SEVERAL YARDS, THEN DO THE SAME THING, WHERE IT WOULD JUST STOP MOVING. A CLEAR SAFETY HAZARD WHEN DRIVING ON THE ROAD AND THE CAR JUST STOPS MOVING. IT'S CURRENTLY AT A FORD DEALERSHIP NOW, AND I AM WAITING TO HEAR BACK. I HAVE NOTICED THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THE...
I DROVE TO A DAIRY QUEEN PARKED ON A SLIGHT INCLINE, PUT THE CAR IN PARK. AS I STARTED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR IT STARTED TO ROLL BACK, I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AND CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THE CAR WAS IN PARK WHICH IT WAS. I THEN PUT ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. WHEN I RETURNED TO THE CAR TO LEAVE. I COULD NOT START THE CAR, THE SHIFTER WAS LOCKED IN PARK BUT THE INDICATOR ON THE DASH SHOWED IT WAS IN REVERSE, ALSO THE BACK UP CAMERA WAS ON. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO KLABEN FORD IN KENT OHIO, WHERE THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING WAS FOUND TO BE BROKEN. KLABEN INSTALLED A NEW BUSHING. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS TO FIND FORD HAD RECALLED SOME MODELS BETWEEN 2013 AND 2016 FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT NOT THIS CAR. I SUSPECT THERE ARE STILL SOME BAD BUSHINGS OUT THERE....
THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING BROKE AS IT WAS BEING PARKED IN DRIVEWAY AND MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE WAS LOCKED IN NEUTRAL POSITION EVEN THOUGH THE CONSOLE SHIFTER WAS IN THE PARK POSITION. LUCKILY WE NOTICED IT ROLL SLIGHTLY AFTER GETTING OUT OF CAR AND WERE ABLE TO GET BACK IN CAR AND PLACE THE PARKING BRAKE SO IT WOULD NOT ROLL INTO THE STREET. THIS IS A SIMILAR ISSUE TO A RECALL OF OLDER FORD ESCAPES (2013 AND 2014). THE SHIFTER WOULD NOT MOVE AFTER THAT AND WE HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALER. HAD IT BEEN ON A LESSER GRADE WE MAY NOT HAVE NOTICED THAT IT WAS NOT IN PARK, AND COULD HAVE ROLLED INTO STREET CAUSING ACCIDENT.
AFTER BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY IN REVERSE, I WENT TO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE. NONE OF THE GEARS WOULD THEN ENGAGE. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND THAT'S WHERE IT STAYED. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE SHIFTER FREELY, ALMOST SLIDING THROUGH THE GEARS WITH BARELY ANY FORCE. IT WAS AS IF THE GEAR SHIFT AND TRANSMISSION WERE NOT CONNECTED (SO TO SPEAK). WHEN I WOULD MOVE THE GEAR SHIFTER, NONE OF THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD WOULD LIGHT UP AS IN WHAT GEAR I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IN. THE ONLY GEAR THAT LIT UP WAS PARK. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND NOTICED THE SHIFT CABLE BUSHING WAS OFF OF THE TRANSMISSION.

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

FORD OF MURFREESBORO (1550 NW BROAD ST, MURFREESBORO, TN) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK. HAD NO NOISE , LIGHTS, OR WARNING OF ANY KIND..I WAS PUSHING ON THE GAS PEDAL..THE CAR QUIT MOVING. I THOUGHT MAYBE A COMPUTER ERROR. COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED THE CAR OFF..WAITED A MINUTE..RE STARTED IT..STARTED TO DRIVE..WENT JUST A FEW FEET AND IT DID IT AGAIN...AGAIN..NO NOISE, WARNING LIGHTS..NOTHING. I MADE A PHONE CALL..I WAS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER FROM A CAR REPAIR SHOP. REALLY KINDA COASTED IN. OF COURSE THEY LOOKED AT IT..GAVE ME THE GREAT NEWS AS TO IT HAD CATASTROPHIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I HAD IT TOWED FROM THERE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP..THEY FOUND THE SAME ISSUE. THE TOW COMPANY THAT TOWED MY CAR IN THE NEXT 2 WEEKS TOWED 4 OF THEM..ALL WITH TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I ALSO TALKED TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP THAT STATED FORD IS HAVING AND HAS BEEN HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. IR WAS A LITTLE...
RECALL NUMBER: 18S20. THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING IS DEGRADED JUST LIKE THE RECALL NUMBER I MENTIONED AT THE BEGINNING. WHILE I WAS PARKED, I WAS NOT ABLE TO SHIFT MANUALLY AND THE DASH KEPT READING NEUTRAL. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CABLE BACK ON THE TRANSMISSION IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE HOME.

WARNING LIGHT COMES ON. TRANSMISSION HIT OK GOES OFF. MESSAGLIGHT GOES ON TO SHUT CAR OFF I DO THAT AN MESSAGE DOESN'T COME BACK ON. AT ONE TIME MY CAR EVEN SLOWED DOWNS TO 40 AND ANOTHER WARNING LIGHT CAME ON SHUT CAR OFF RESTARTED AN RAN OK. THAT WARNING LIGHT STAYED ON UNTIL TAKEN TO FORD GARAGE IN GIBSON CITY. THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG SO RESET. THESE ALL BEGAN A MONTH AGO.

MY TRANSMISSION STARTED HAVING A SHUDDERING IN THE FRONT END. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ONLINE, I HAVE ALSO FOUND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS IN REGARDS TO THE SAME ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,800.
TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE SAW A LEAK OF TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE DEALER MOTORCARS OF LANSING INC 6505 S PENNSYLVANIA AVE, LANSING, MI 48911 (888) 710-5507 STATED THAT THEY NEEDED TO PUT IN A NEW TRANSFER CASE SINCE THAT HE HAD A CRACKED CYLINDER FOR THE TRANSMISSION IN WHICH THE CONTACT PAID $400. WHILE THE DEALER WAS MAKING THOSE REPAIRS THEY NOTIFIED THE CONTACT THAT THERE A HOLE IN THE TRANSMISSION WHICH WOULD COST AN ADDITIONAL $3500. THE CONTACT HAD JUST PURCHASED THE USED VEHICLE 3 TO 5 MONTHS AGO. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT HAD JUST GONE OVER THE WARRANTY. THE CONTACT HAD ASKED FOR A CAR FAX REPORT BEFORE HE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BUT THE DEALER SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE ONE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000. TF
COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. FORD HAD TO DO A COMPLETE REBUILD AT 87K MILES. THE FAILURE RENDERED THE VEHICLE USELESS FOR THE HIGHWAY AND LUCKILY MY DAUGHTER WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF THE HIGHWAY AND LIMP HOME WHICH TOOK 2 HOURS FOR A 15 MILE DISTANCE. DISPLAY INDICATED TRANSMISSION FAULT - SERVICE NOW OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
THE DEALER REFUSED TO PAY FOR DEFECTIVE DRIVESHAFTS. THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY WHEN DECELERATING. THE DEALERSHIP BLAMED FAULTY TIRES BUT THE TIRES WER NOT THE PROBLEM. WE HAD AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REPLACE BOTH DRIVE SHAFTS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. NO REIMBURSEMENT WAS OFFERED BY DEALERSHIP AND WAS BROUGHT IN WHILE UNDER WARRANTY WITH NO HELP.

SHIFTER CABLE BROKE AT TRANSMISSION END. A BUSHING THAT HELPS CONNECT THE CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION BROKE. IT ALLOWED ME TO PARK THE CAR WITHOUT THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK AND WITHOUT RECEIVING ANY AUDIBLE WARNING. IT ALSO CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO BE STUCK IN THE D POSITION, NOT ALLOWING ME TO START THE CAR AS I HAD NO WAY OF CHANGING GEARS. IF THE CAR WAS ON A HILL, IT WOULD'VE ROLLED AWAY, CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION.

SHIFTER CABLE BROKEN
I WAS DRIVING MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE SE WITH 95,000 MILES DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING 55MPH WHEN I HEARD A FAINT WHISTLING NOISE. I DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF IT AT FIRST BECAUSE IT WAS SO FAINT, BUT THEN I REALIZED I WAS PUSHING THE GAS AND THE RPMS WOULD SHOOT UP VERY HIGH BUT THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE. TRANSMISSION CABLE BUSHING IS DEFECTIVE, CABLE POPS OFF SHIFTING LEVEL. THIS CAUSES A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS THE THE DRIVER PLACES THE VEHICLE IN PARK, BUT TRANSMISSION IS IN NEUTRAL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL.
THE ESCAPE HESITATES WHEN YOU GIVE IT THE GAS IT ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE IT IS SLOWING DOWN. HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE.
