The car won’t shift into the intended gear. The car stalls as well. The transmission fault service now light is on.
While driving, the car hesitates changing gears. Sometimes the car will not go in gear or go into Park. Had a recall in 2022 for some bushings and cable shifter. The car is too dangerous to drive and mechanics have stated a new transmission is needed.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated while depressing the accelerator pedal, the RPM increased; however, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate. Additionally, there was a whining sound coming from the engine compartment while attempting to accelerate and the vehicle was jerking and vibrating abnormally. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 110,000.
The vehicle has coolant leaking into the cylinders. The dealership shows that it was due to overheating but the vehicle has not overheated. The dealership states that the engine needs replacement but is unable to verify any damage in the cylinders. The vehicle was taken in due to misfiring and the vehicle dying upon starting after a short period of time being turned off.
My cluster panel went dead and there was a recall for it but the first owner got it fixed and ford wouldn’t do it for me. I couldn’t afford to get it fixed and so it stayed dead. My car eventually broke down on me while driving because I was unable to read the transmission fault warning (because the cluster panel doesn’t work). I just had to buy a whole new transmission and ford is still refusing to fix their failed recall. Had it been taken care of, I would have seen the warning and not drove my car until it broke down.
AT 76,851 MILES MY TRANSMISSION FAILED AND ACCORDING TO FORD METAL PIECES FOUND WAS FOUND IN THE FLUID I WAS ON MY WAY HOME WHEN MY VEHICLE JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF ON GOING TRAFFIC I'VE ONLY HAVE IT FOR TWO YEARS AND TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF IT BUT WAS NEVER TOLD THAT ANY TRANSMISSION ISSUES WERE DETECTED BEFORE THAT THE BYPASS COOLANT VALVED CODE WOULD APPEAR EVEN THOUGH I HAVE REPAIR IT TWICE THIS YEAR .
WHENEVER DRIVING MY CAR, IT NOTICABLY TAKES LONGER THAN IT SHOULD TO SHIFT CAUSING MY RPMS TO RUN HIGHER THAN EXPECTED. FOR INSTANCE DOING 35 I MIGHT BE RUNNING AT 2500-3000 RPMS FOR ABOUT 15 TO 20 SECONDS BEFORE SHIFTING AND CAUSING MY RPMS TO GO DOWN TO AROUND 1500.
VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING ON CITY ROADS. HAVE HAD CONDITIONS WHERE WE ARE DRIVING AT 30 MILES/HR AND CAR STARTS SWITCHING OFF WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND OIL LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT COMING ON. VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE PROPERLY UNTIL I SWITCH IT OFF AN ON AGAIN. HAS CAUSED 1 ACCIDENT AND 2 ALMOST ACCIDENTS WHERE CAR WAS REAR ENDED DUE TO STALLING. THERE ARE NO CODES TO SAY WHAT IS WRONG AND FORD STATES EVERYTHING IS FINE
ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY FAILURE AND LIMP MODE CAUSES UNSAFE BREAK DOWNS: WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 70 MPH THE HIGHWAY MY CAR VERY RAPIDLY DECELERATED AND SEVERAL SERVICE LIGHTS TURNED ON. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF OF THE HIGHWAY AND RAN A VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT. THE REPORT INDICATED A FAILURE TO THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM (DEFINED AS AIRBAGS OR SEATBELT). THIS MEANS THAT IF THE SUDDEN DECELERATION WITHOUT BRAKE LIGHTS HAD CAUSED A COLLISION THE AIRBAGS MAY HAVE ALSO MALFUNCTIONED. IN ADDITION TO THE SAFETY SYSTEM MALFUNCTION A POWERTRAIN MALFUNCTION, AND TC, IVD, RSC EVENT OF FAULT WAS REPORTED. I TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY MALFUNCTION. THEY SAID IT WAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. IT DOESN'T SEEM SAFE TO HAVE A CAR RAPIDLY DECELERATE ITSELF WHEN A PART FAILS ESPECIALLY IF THAT CAUSES THE COMPUTER TO REPORTS...
ENGINE FAILS TO ACCELERATE FROM STOP. (RANDOM) WHILE IN PITTSBURGH TRAFFIC, VEHICLE RUNS FINE, STOP AT STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN WAITING FOR TRAFFIC TO PASS. TRY TO TAKE OFF AND VEHICLE STARTS MOVING LIKE IT SHOULD AND THEN SUDDENLY LOSES ACCELERATION, ENGINE IS UNRESPONSIVE TO THROTTLE, RPMS GO DOWN TO JUST ABOVE IDLE WITH GAS PEDAL PRESSED TO FLOOR, IDLE WHEN RELEASED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, CAN CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT IF NOT CONSCIENCE OF TRAFFIC AROUND YOU AND KEEPING IN MIND THAT THE CAR MAY ACT UP WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. IT IS IN DEALERSHIP NOW, FORD TECHNICIANS ARE HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING CULPRIT OF PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED IN EXCESS INDEPENDENTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
