TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS CLOSED, THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AS A RESULT, THE DOOR FAILED TO LOCK AND CAUSE THE OTHER DOORS TO LOCK AND UNLOCK WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE CHIMED AS IF THE DOOR WAS OPEN ALTHOUGH IT WAS LATCHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT SIDE DOOR LATCH AND SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.

I DON'T SEE HOW IT IS POSSIBLE THAT OUR VEHICLES MEET NHTSA STANDARD FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD (FMVSS) NO. 206, DOOR LOCKS AND DOOR RETENTION COMPONENTS.
