HEAT AND DEFROST ON PASSENGER SIDE ONLY BLOWS COLD AIR. ONLY 1/2 OF WINDSHIELD FROST CLEARS MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD AND WINDOW FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC, PEDESTRIANS, ETC. WHEN FIRST TURNING ON, PASSENGER SIDE CLICKS FOR 30 -60 SECONDS. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMENT ISSUE WITH THIS CAR AND IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN!
HEATER AND DEFROSTER ON PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE HAVE STOPPED WORKING. MECHANIC STATED IT WAS DUE TO A MANUFACTURING ISSUE WITH THE HEATING CORE AND RADIATOR, BUT DODGE WILL NOT COVER REPAIR EXPENSES. LACK OF DEFROSTER ON PASSENGER SIDE POSES SEVERE SAFETY RISKS DUE TO LACK ON VISIBILITY, ESPECIALLY DURING COLD WEATHER.
WINDOW DEFROST AND PASSENGER HEAT /AIR. WHILE EITHER IN MOTION OR WHILE DRIVING, NO HEATED AIR EXITS THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER, NOR THE PASSENGER WINDOW DEFROST, LOWER AND CENTER CONSOLE VENTS. HEATED AIR ONLY EXITS THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDSHIELD AND DRIVER'S SIDE DASH VENTS. PROBLEM PERSISTS THROUGH ALL CABIN AIR MODES, AND CIRCULATIONS. THIS SAFETY ISSUE EFFECTS VISIBILITY AND PASSENGER SAFETY BY FAILING TO DEFROST/DEFOG WINDOWS AND KEEPING CABIN TEMPURATURES NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING DURING COLD WEATHER (BLOWING COLD AIR INTO THE CABIN).
SINCE OCTOBER 2015 IVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE DEFROSTING OF THE FRONT WILDSHIELD IN COLDER WEATHER. THIS REDUCES VISABILITY AND WITH SAFELY OPERATING THE VEHICLE. THE LEFT OR DRIVERS SIDE GETS WARM BUT THE RIGHT OR PASSENGER SIDE BLOWS ONLY COLD AIR. THIS DOES NOT ALLOW THE REMOVAL OF ICE OR FOG OFF THE WINDSHIELD THUS NOT ALLOWING YOU TO SEE COMPLETELY WHILE IN MOTION. IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE MANUFACTURER DUE TO POOR DESIGN AND A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR. IT IS A VERY COSTLY FIX AND I FEEL MANY LIKE MYSELF CANNOT AFFORD TO REPAIR AND WILL ONE DAY IF NOT ALREADY COST IN HUMAN LIFE. MY VEHICLE STARTED WITH THESE ISSUES AT AROUND 30,000 MILES BUT DUE TO TIME RESTRICTIIN OF VEHICLE WARRANTY IT IS NOT A COVERED REPAIR. VEHICLE IS NOW AT 60,000 AND ISSUE SEVERLY...
HEATER CORE ISSUES LEAD TO INABILITY TO DEFROST WINDOWS AND EXCESS FOG IN THE CABIN.
MY HEAT ALL OF A SUDDEN STOP BLOWING HOT OR EVEN WARM. I AM UNABLE TO DEFROST MY CAR IN THE VEHICLE OR KEEP MY CHILDREN AND I WARM AND I AM EXPECTING A INFANT ANY DAY. I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ISSUE WAS FROM CASING SAND CLOGGING THE RADIATOR, HEATER CORE AND THE OIL COOLER. THIS IS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT. A FLUSH OF THE RADIATOR AND HEATER CORE WILL NOT FIX THIS ISSUE. THE COST IS $1200 AND I DON'T THAT KIND OF MONEY RIGHT NOW AND IT IS TO NO FAULT OF MY OWN. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM GOING TO DO THIS WINTER.

THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE HEATING SYSTEM MALFFUNCTION, SO THE PASSAENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD DOES NOT DEFROST AND IT CAUSES A SERIOUS VISIBILITY/SAFETY HAZARD DURING THE COLD SEASON, THE WINDSHIELD REMAINS FOGGED UP WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE TO PULL UP SEVERAL TIMES ON THE FREEWAY TO MANUALLY SCRAPE FROST OFF THE OUTSIDE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AND MANUALLY WIPE THE MOISTURE OFF THE INTERIOR. THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM CAUSED DUE TO FAULTY MANUFACTURING PROCESS WHICH LEFT END PRODUCTS THAT RAPIDLY CLOGS AND DESTROYS THE HEATING SYSTEM. DEALERS WHO WERE CONFRONTED WITH COMPLAINS ADMITS TO THIS. DODGE AVENGER 2012 OWNERS COMPLAINED THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE HEATER CORES AND RADIATORS, SOME AS EARLY AS 12000 MILES AND THE COST RUNS FROM $1200 TO $3000. THE HEATER IN THE CAR ONLY EMITS HOT AIR FROM DRIVERS SIDE. THE PASSENGER SIDE BLOWS COLD AIR EVEN WHEN FULLY ENGAGED. THE COLD AIR COMING FROM HEATER/DEFROSTER CAUSES WINDSHIELD TO ICE AND/OR NOT CLEAR, AND THEREBY LIMITS DRIVERS VISIBILITY THROUGH PASSENGER SIDE OF WINDSHIELD. I HAVE TO DRIVE SLOWER THAN NORMAL TO BE ABLE TO NEGOTIATE WITH LIMITED VISIBILITY IN WINTER. I THEREFORE PRESENT A PROBLEM TO TRAFFIC APPROACHING FROM BEHIND ME ALSO.

PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FROSTS / ICES OVER IN WINTER DUE TO LACK OF ANY DEFROSTER / VENT HEAT. HEAT IS DELIVERED NORMALLY TO DRIVERS SIDE WINDSHIELD. THE LACK OF VISIBILITY THROUGH HALF OF WINDSHIELD IN WINTER CONDITIONS CREATES AN UNSAFE CONDITION.
I BOUGHT THE CAR USED AND HAVE HAD IT FOR ABOUT 9 MONTHS. EVERYTHING WAS WORKING FINE, WE KEEP REGULAR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND THE HEAT STOPS WORKING THE IN THE CAR ENTIRELY. I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY HORN SOUNDING WHILE DRIVING AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE HORN CONTINUED TO SOUND WHILE DRIVING AT DIFFERENT TIMES WITHOUT WARNING AND ON AUGUST 1, 2018 I WAS DRIVING AND IT WAS RAINING AND MY HORN STARTED SOUNDING AND I HAD MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON AT THE TIME AND WHEN THE HORN SOUNDED THE WIPERS STOPPED WORKING FOR A FEW SECONDS AND WHEN THE HORN STOPPED SOUNDING THE WIPERS BEGAN WORKING AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AT THE TIME.I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEPT IF FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND THEN DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE.

NOT IDEAL FOR COLD PA WINTERS AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO FOOT THE BILL FOR...
WHEN USING CLIMATE CONTROLS THE AIR ON DRIVER SIDE GETS HOT BUT AIR THROUGH THE VENTS ON PASSENGER SIDE REMAIN COLD. IN WINTER THE WINSHIELD WILL ONLY DEFROST OR DEFOG ONE SIDE WHICH OBSCURES VISION ON PASSENGER SIDE WHICH COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT AND OR DEATH AS A RESULT.

THE WINDOWS DO NOT DEFROST AND FOG UP CONSTANTLY DURING THE WINTER TIME WHILE I AM DRIVING. MY VISION IS CONSTANTLY IMPAIRED DURING COOL AND COLD WEATHER. MY CHILDREN HAVE TO BRING LAYERS OF BLANKETS TO GET TO SCHOOL WITHOUT FREEZING. I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH GLOVES ON TO KEEP MY HANDS FROM GOING NUMB. WITH THIS FAILURE FROM BAD CASTING SAND REMOVAL UPON MANUFACTURING OF THE VEHICLE IT HAS CAUSED THE THERMOSTAT TO FAIL CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO RUN FAR BELOW OPERATING TEMP. SINCE THE CABIN SPACE CANNOT RECEIVE FULL HEAT IT MAKES FOR DANGEROUS OPERATING CONDITIONS IN COLD CLIMATES AS I CANNOT DEFROST THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THIS HAS MADE OPERATING THE VEHICLE DURING WINTER DANGEROUS AS I CANNOT SEE WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT PROVIDE PASSENGER SIDE HEAT NO MATTER IF THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR NOT. THIS WILL GREATLY EFFECT THE VISIBILITY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS IS A WIDELY KNOW COMPLAINT AMONG ALL DODGE VEHICLES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE AVENGER. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE PASSENGER SIDE HEATER WAS FAULTY AND ONLY COLD AIR BLEW FROM THE VENTS. CHARLES ROCK RD, BRIDGETON, MO 36044) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COOLING SYSTEM WAS CLOGGED WITH SLUDGE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENTIRE COOLING SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CAUSE OF THE SLUDGE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,599.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DODGE COUNTRY AT (888) 676-8389 (1902 E CENTRAL TEXAS EXPY, KILLEEN, TX 76541) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEATER CORE AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

THE FAILURE CAUSED ICE TO FORM ON THE INSIDE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DON'S AUTO CLINIC INC (1110 N MITCHELL ST, CADILLAC, MI 49601, (231) 775-2413) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DUAL HEATER CORE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,500.

WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL RANDOMLY STOP WORKING. ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. I WAS ON THE EXPRESS WAY IN A DOWNPOUR RAIN AND MY WIPERS STOPPED WORKING, I HAD ZERO VISIBILITY AND HAD TO PULL OVER FOR 20 MINUTES UNTIL THEY CAME BACK ON.
THE HEAT DOES NOT BLOW HOT AIR ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE OF THE CAR. THIS INCLUDES THE WINDSHIELD, CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT ONLY CLEARS THE FOG ON ONE SIDE. DODGE SERVICE SHOP SAID THE ISSUE IS A KNOWN CHRYSLER ISSUE, REQUIRING A NEW RADIATOR, HEATER CORE, AND COOLANT BOTTLE. AT AN ESTIMATE OF $2235.00. HOWEVER CHRYSLER IS REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT CLAIMING IT IS NOT A KNOWN ISSUE.
THE HEAT BLOWS HOT ON THE DRIVER SIDE BUT BLOWS COLD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE CAUSING THE WINDOWS AND WINDSHIELD TO FOG UP AND REDUCE VISIBILITY NOT TO MENTION POSSIBLE FROSTBITE FROM SITTING ON THAT SIDE.....GETS PRETTY COLD HERE IN MINNESOTA. AT AROUND 100,000 MILES MY PASSENGER SIDE HEAT STOPPED WORKING WITH ONLY MY DRIVER SIDE HAVING SOME WARMTH. THIS WAS VERY SUDDEN. NOW, 3 WEEKS LATER THERE IS NO HEAT IN MY 2012 DODGE AVENGER SE. MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AN OFF NO MATTER IF ANYONE IS IN THE SEAT OR NOT. TOOK MY CAR TO DODGE WAS TOLD THERES NO RECALL YET I LOOKED UP MY CAR IN FRONT OF THE SERVICE GUY SHOWED HIM THE INFORMATION HE TOLD ME THAT WASN'T TRUE I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR MY CAR TO BE CHECK. I'VE NOTICED IN MANY RESEARCH ONLINE THERE HAS BEEN MANY RECALLS AND PROBLEM REGARDING TIPM FROM DODGE, JEEP, CHRYSLER. ALSO I'VE HAD SHORTAGE IN MY POWER WINDOW NOT WANTING TO WORK BUT WILL EVENTUALLY START AGAIN AND AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON ALL THOSE COULD BE RELATED TO THE BAD TIPM. DRIVING CAR DOWN I-20 ON A CLEAR DAY. WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE WINDSHIELD BLADES CAME ON AND STAYED ON FOR SEVERAL MINUETS., THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES. DEALER SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM, BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT SEE A CODE. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER IT WAS STORMING AND YOU COULD VAGUELY SEE SEVERAL YARDS IN FRONT OF YOU.
