Window Defrost and Passenger Heat /Air. While either in motion or while driving, no heated air exits the passenger side of the windshield defroster, nor the passenger window defrost, lower and center console vents. Heated air only exits the driver's side windshield and driver's side dash vents. Problem persists through all cabin air modes, and circulations. This safety issue effects visibility and passenger safety by failing to defrost/defog windows and keeping cabin tempuratures near or below freezing during cold weather (blowing cold air into the cabin).

It seems to be a common issue that I'm experiencing as well. When I turn the heat on it only blows hot on the driver side. So depending on the weather conditions, it may completely fog up the passenger side of my window. Making it dangerous for driving when you're trying to defrost a window with cold air.
My wipers stop in the middle of the windshield when it’s pouring outside. Now my horn won’t turn off! I was told that it’s the TIPM and it’s a known issue with my car.

WE WERE DRIVING IN SNOW AND ICE AND HAD VERY LIMITED VISIBILITY OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AS WELL AS THE SIDE WINDOWS WHEN CHECKING FOR TRAFFIC WHILE DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE IN DODGE AVENGERS. THE ACTUATOR WAS CHANGED WHICH DID NOT HELP. THE DRIVERS SIDE HEAT IS NOW VERY REDUCED WHICH IS CAUSING MORE VISIBILITY ISSUES IN DRIVING IN SNOW AND RAIN
THE PASSENGERS SIDE OF MY HEATER INCLUDING DEFROSTERS'S BLOWS COLD AIR. THE CAR ONLY HAS 50,500 MILES. THIS CAUSES THE PASSENGERS SIDE TO NOT PROPERLY DEFROST AND FOR ANY PASSENGER IN THE CAR TO BE COLD AS COLD AIR IS BLOWING AT THEIR FEET OR FACE DEPENDING ON WHERE THE CONTROL IS SET. THIS IS A CONTINUED ISSUE UNTIL I FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.

THE VEHICLE BLOWS HOT AIR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, BUT COLD AIR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. SINCE IT IS BLOWING ONLY COLD AIR ON ONE HALF OF THE WINDSHIELD THE WINDOWS ICE UP, FREEZE UP AND FOG UP. THIS IS A DRIVING HAZARD, SINCE THIS IMPAIRS VISIBILTY.
THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER PUTS OUT COLD AIR EVEN AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN WARMED UP AND DRIVEN FOR A WHILE. THIS OFTEN MAKES MY CAR DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE WINDSHIELD WILL NOT DEFROST OR DEFOG IN A TIMELY MANNER OR AT ALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEATER CORE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR AIRBAG RECALLS HOWEVER THE LIGHT STAYS ON CONSTANTLY. NOT LONG AFTER BUYING THE VEHICLE, I WOULD PUT USE THE TURN SIGNAL AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD COME ON, THEY STILL DO FROM TIME TO TIME. I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE AT THE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. ALSO, FROM TIME TO TIME, THE AIR CONDITIONER BUTTON WILL NOT WORK. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT TO WORK IS TO RAPIDLY TURN THE KNOB FROM SIDE TO SIDE. IT HAS SOMETIMES TAKEN UP TO 5 MINUTES TO GET IT TO WORK.

IN JANUARY-FEBRUARY 2018, MY 2012 AVENGER RT BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE INSUFFICIENT/NON-EXISTENT AIRFLOW AND LACK OF HEAT TO THE RIGHT-SIDE WINDOW DEFROSTERS AND ALL PASSENGER VENTS (EXCEPT THE FRONT-LEFT DRIVER VENTS), CREATING VISIBILITY HAZARDS AND AN UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING ENVIRONMENT FOR BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. DURING THE FOLLOWING 2018 SUMMER, THE AIR COOLING EFFECT AND WINDOW-DEFOGGING WAS ALSO DIMINISHED, ESPECIALLY FROM THE INEXPLICABLE REDUCED AIRFLOW COMING FROM PASSENGER VENTS. THE HEATER/DEFROSTER HAD MAJOR DIFFICULTY DEFROSTING THE WINDSHIELD AND RIGHT-SIDE FRONT WINDOW. IN EARLY 2019, I BROUGHT MY AVENGER TO A REPAIR SHOP RECOMMENDED BY SEVERAL FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES, AND THE SHOP RECOMMENDED A COOLANT SYSTEM FLUSH AND INSPECTED AIR BLEND DOOR ACTUATORS, BUT THOSE WERE FINE. THE ENGINE ALSO OCCASIONALLY RAN WARMER THAN USUAL, HOWEVER THAT MAY HAVE BEEN DUE TO A STUCK THERMOSTAT WHICH WAS FOUND DURING THE SHOP'S DIAGNOSTICS AND WAS REPLACED. THE REPAIR SHOP STATED THAT THE COOLANT/RADIATOR/HEATER...
WHEN HEATER ACTIVATED, ONLY DRIVERS SIDE BLOWS HEAT WHILE PASSENGER SIDE BLOWS COLD. VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE DUAL AIR CONTROLS. CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WINDSHIELD ONLY DEFROSTS ONE SIDE AND OTHER SIDE FOGS UP.

I LIVE IN A STATE WHERE WE HAVE COLD WINTERS AND FREQUENT SNOW. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT IMPAIRS MY ABILITY TO SEE MY PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR, ETC.

TAKATA RECALL I HAVE A 2012 DODGE AVENGER R/T. LIKE MANY OTHER AVENGERS, THE HEAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY VEHICLE STOPPED WORKING. I GET NOTHING BUT COLD AIR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I'VE DONE MY RESEARCH, AND THIS IS A MANAFACTURER DEFECT THAT RESULTS FROM BAD CASTING THAT CAUSES METAL FLAKES TO BREAK OFF AND FILL UP THE HEATER CORE UNTIL IT BECOMES SO CLOGGED THAT IT STOPS WORKING PROPERLY. A SIMPLE FLUSH WILL NOT DO THE JOB, AND THE HEATER CORE MUST BE REPLACED. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR. I HIGHLY BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, DUE TO THE FACT THAT VISIBILITY IS SEVERELY DECREASED IN WINTER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR. THIS NOT ONLY PUTS THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS IN DANGER, BUT OTHER VEHICES AND PEDESTRIANS AS WELL.
I HAVE A 2012 DODGE AVENGER V6 WITH ONLY THE DRIVER SIDE HEAT WORKING. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION AS TO WHAT CAUSED IT THERE IS SAND PARTIALS IN THE COOLING SYSTEM FROM THE SAND FORGING OF THE MOTOR AND WHERE THERE WAS NOT PROPER FLUSHING OF THE COOLING SYSTEM BEFORE THE ASSEMBLY OF THE MOTOR. IT IS A CLOSED SYSTEM SO THERE IS NO WAY THAT SAND PARTIALS CAN ENTER THE SYSTEM AND CAUSE THAT ISSUE. DODGE BELIEVES THERE IS NO SAFETY ISSUE WITH IT AND IT IS A "CREATURE COMFORT", BUT WHEN IN FACE THE HEAT DEFROSTS THE WINDOWS TO ENABLE VISIBILITY. WITH NO HEAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE THE PASSENGER SIDE AND SOME OF THE DRIVER SIDE IS UNABLE TO DEFOG, DEFROST, OR MELT ANY ICE OBSTRUCTING THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER. I PURCHASED THIS CAR BRAND NEW IN 2012. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS WITH NO HEAT ON PASSENGER SIDE. THIS CAUSES NO TO LITTLE VISIBILITY ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW AND THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. I HAVE PAID TO HAVE SOME OF THE VENDOR DOORS REPLACED TO NO FIX TO THIS ISSUE.

MY 2012 DODGE AVENGER HAS HEATING ISSUE. HEAT COMES OUT OF THE VENT ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE CAR BUT COLD AIR ON PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE LOOKED THE ISSUE UP AND ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. WHY IS THE ISSUE WITH 2012 AVENGER NOT BEING ADDRESSED. I CAN'T DRIVE THIS CAR IN UPSTATE NEW YORK IN THE WINTER BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE. I CAMT SEE OUT ANY OF MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS OR RIGHT SIDE OF DASH BECAUSE IT ALL FOGGED UP AND FROSTED DUE TO NO HEAT IN THAT SIDE OF CAR.
PASSENGER SIDE HEATER/DEFROSTER VENTS BLOW COLD AIR, WHILE DRIVER SIDE BLOWS WARM AIR.
THERE IS NO HEAT ON PASSENGER SIDE, INCLUDING DEFROST. I LIVE IN A COLD CLIMATE AND NOT HAVING DEFROST TO CLEAR MY WINDSHIELD IS HAZARDOUS. I WAS QUOTED OVER 1200$ TO FIX THIS AND TOLD IT IS A REGULAR ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. THE HEAT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE HAS SIGNIFICANTLY DECREASED SINCE THE LACK OF HEAT ON PASSENGER SIDE.PROGRESSIVELY WORSENING PROBLEM
WHEN USING HEAT/DEFROST COLD AIR BLOWS FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE VENTS. THIS CAUSES PASSENGER SIDE OF WINDSHIELD TO FOG OVER WHEN ITS COLD OUTSIDE. ALSO, THE COLD AIR BEING BLOWN FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE VENTS WILL NOT MELT/DEFROST ICE AND SNOW ON PASSENGER SIDE IF WINDOWS. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL CAR, BUT DIDGE WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THE ISSUE AFTER WARRANTY IS EXPIRED.
THERE IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT WITH THE HEATING SYSTEM THAT AIDS IN KEEPING WINDOWS DEFROSTED. EVERY VENT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ONLY BLOWS OUT COLD AIR, WHILE THE DRIVERS SIDE IS WARM. THE WINDSHIELD & ALL WINDOWS IN THE PASSENGER SIDE WILL NOT DEFROST CAUSE EXTREME VISIBILITY ISSUES.
THE HEAT HAS STOPPED WORKING ON THE PASSANGER SIDE MAKING THE DEFROSTER NOT TO WORK. THOS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO ADDRESSED.
HEATER AND DEFROST DO NOT WORK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR, LEAVING HALF OF THE WINDSHIELD FOGGED UP. THIS CAUSES BAD VISIBILITY ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CAR. LOOKING ON THE INTERNET, THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE (DODGE AVENGER)
THIS ISSUE IS A DEFECTIVE HEATER CORE. CASTING AND METAL SHAVINGS CLOG HEATER CORE TO WHERE YOUR CAR CANNOT HEAT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF YOUR CAR. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS DUE TO THE CAR NOT HAVING THE ABILITY TO DEFROST FRONT AND BACK WIND SHIELDS DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE PROBLEM ARISES WITH HOW TO THE HEATER SITS BEHIND THE DASH. IT CAUSES THIS ISSUE TO REPEAT EVEN IF HEATER CORE IS REPLACED. THIS PROBLEM IS VERY DANGEROUS AND IS A $1,000 PLUS REPAIR THAT WILL REPEATEDLY OCCUR NEARLY EVERY YEAR OR SO.
WINDOW DEFROST AND PASSENGER HEAT /AIR. WHILE EITHER IN MOTION OR WHILE DRIVING, NO HEATED AIR EXITS THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER, NOR THE PASSENGER WINDOW DEFROST, LOWER AND CENTER CONSOLE VENTS. HEATED AIR ONLY EXITS THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDSHIELD AND DRIVER'S SIDE DASH VENTS. PROBLEM PERSISTS THROUGH ALL CABIN AIR MODES, AND CIRCULATIONS. THIS SAFETY ISSUE EFFECTS VISIBILITY AND PASSENGER SAFETY BY FAILING TO DEFROST/DEFOG WINDOWS AND KEEPING CABIN TEMPURATURES NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING DURING COLD WEATHER (BLOWING COLD AIR INTO THE CABIN)
HEATER CORE ISSUES FROM FACTORY FAIL BECAUSE OF SAND BUILT UP IN HEATER CORE SO NO HEAT ON PASSENGER SIDE AND CAUSES WINDSHIELD TO FOG UP IMPAIRING VISSION
