This is a serious safety concern regarding the shift interlock system on my 2005 Chrysler 300. When the vehicle is in Park, particularly in traffic, and the light turns green, I am forced to lift the coin attachment and manually press the pink interlock just to change gears or accelerate. This creates a dangerous situation where I am unable to move the vehicle promptly, potentially leaving me vulnerable to a rear-end collision. The issue stems from Recall 05V462000, which specifically addresses a shift interlock defect that Chrysler has failed to address despite my repeated attempts to have it repaired. Chrysler has not taken any action to resolve the recall issue, leaving me in a potentially life-threatening situation every time I drive. It is unacceptable that this recall has not been acted upon, and this critical safety defect must be corrected immediately.
The vehicle began to shutter in reverse. This went on for about a week. Transmission fluid level was checked and it was in the normal range. My husband and I were driving it and made a sharp turn to find us in a spot to continue forward and go off a cliff or back up and get out of traffics way. He backed up and we heard a clunk. The car continues to drive forward with no issues but it acts as of it’s in neutral when you put it in reverse. No codes are showing either.
my engine blew, transmission is slipping. I’m having electrical and air bag problems.
Reverse gear went out after vehicle slipped once, acted as if in neutral when in reverse and pressing gas pedal down but would not move. Had local towing and mechanic shop in Gower Missouri check transmission fluid level in which was found to be a quart low on transmission fluid. Car had been extremely well maintained and all recommended maintenance services completed by previous owners. Able to drive car in all other gears, codes p0007 code appear with no check engine light or any type of warning or indication that a problem was present within my 2005 Chrysler 300 3.5l v6 rwd car with the 42rle transmission My vehicle also has issues occur suddenly regarding front end suspension has death shake and very loud clinking popping banging noises while driving at all speeds. Steering wheel has a weird squeek/creeking noise when turning the wheel at times and feels like steering...
COULD NOT GET GEAR SHIFT OUT OF PARK. WE TOOK APART CASING, FOUND THE PINK PLASTIC BROKE. LOOKED AT YOUTUBE TO FIX. ORDER PART ON AMAZON. THE PLASTIC PIECE IS NOW MADE OF METAL!!

THE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY A RELATIVE THAT AN AIR BAG WAS REPLACED IN 2018 HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE AIR BAG REPAIR WOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WHILE GETTING ON THE FREEWAY, AT APPROX. 50 MPH THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO NEXT GEAR. RPM WAS 4500-5000 (AS THOUGH POSSIBLY STUCK IN OVERDRIVE). I DECELERATED HOPING IT WOULD COMPUTE THE NEED TO SHIFT. IT DIDN'T. I TRIED ACCELERATING SLOWLY AND STILL DIDNT SHIFT. I SLOWED DOWN, PUT EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON AND TOOK THE NEXT EXIT 1/4 MILE OR LESS AWAY. SINCE THE LIGHT WAS RED AT THE EXIT , I TRIED PUTTING CAR INTO PARK AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE TO SEE IF IT WOULD ('RESET'), INSTEAD THE SHIFT SELECTOR WAS STUCK IN PARK. LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I COULDN'T GET IT IN DRIVE, COULDN'T MOVE. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IT FINALLY WENT INTO DRIVE. WHEN I GOT OFF WORK, SAME THING...STUCK IN PARK. ON THIS CHRYSLER 300 2005 THE CURRENT SAFETY PROBLEM IS AN INABILITY TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER (FLOOR SHIFTER) OUT OF THE "PARK" POSITION. THE CAR'S ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF, PARKED IN DRIVEWAY OF THE HOME, STATIONARY. THE CAR WAS TURNED ON WITH KEY, STARTED THE ENGINE TO ON, AND COULD NOT MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER OUT OF THE "PARK" POSITION. CAR'S ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. CAR WAS LEFT IN DRIVEWAY STATIONARY. THIS HAPPENED AROUND 2:30PM IN THE AFTERNOON ON 04-24-2019, WEDNESDAY.

BUT OF COURSE, NO RECALL WAS ISSUED AND I WAS NEVER MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE BY THE MANUFACTURER OR THE DEALERSHIP (EVEN THOUGHT I'VE OWNED THE CAR FOR 11 YEARS).

THE SHIFTER IS STUCK IN PARK? THIS STARTED OFF HAPPENING ON OCCASION. BUT NOW HAS PROGRESSED TO ALMOST A PERMANENT SITUATION. THIS CAUSES A HAZARD BECAUSE IN ORDER TO NOT BEING ABLE TO AVOID BEING STRANDED. I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND PUT ON THE PARKING BRAKE. RUNNING THE RISK OF THE CAR ROLLING AND CAUSING A COLLISION. CRYSLER NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS SITUATION. AS I'M AWARE THAT IT'S A DEFECTIVE PLASTIC PART CAUSING THIS PROBLEM. IT IS ALSO A PROBLEM THAT SPANS FOR SEVERAL YEARS OF THIS SHIFTING SYSTEM.

THIS PROBLEM SEEMS IDENTICAL TO RECALL K39 TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER BUT FOR SOME REASON MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECAL. I SUSPECT THIS IS AN OVERSIGHT. I WILL UPDLOAD THE DOCUMENTATION FROM THE DEALER WHEN I GET IT BUT AT THE MOMENT THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER.

TRANSMISSION GETS STUCK IN PARK AND WONT COME OUT. THE EMERGENCY RELEASE DOES NOT WORK. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE HOME GARAGE HEADED IN. THE SHIFT LINKAGE HAD TO BE RELEASED BY EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICE THAT HAS HAD PRIOR KNOWLEDGE FREEING THE LINKAGE WHEN IT IS STUCK IN PARK. IT COULD NOT BE TOWED OUT OF THE GARAGE OR DAMAGE WOULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO THE TRANSMISSION.

GEARSHIFT LOCKS IN PARK. UNABLE TO SHIFT FROM PARK. THIS CAR HAS LESS THAN 65,000 MILES. FIRST HAPPENED ABOUT 30 MONTHS AGO AND HAS BECOME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. HAPPENS IN STATIONARY POSITION.
FOR THE PAST EIGHT-TEN YEARS THEIR HAS BEEN BEEN THIS NOISE/HESITATION AT TIME, WHENEVER I'M IN A BACK UP MOTION AND WHILE TURNING OUT OF MY DRIVE. I FIRST COMPLAINED AT (1,199 MILES ) IN 2008 AT ABC CHRYSLER-JEEP 395 W.MERRICK RD.VALLEY STREAM, NY 11580. (SEE ATTACHED INVOICE #CHC566468). VEHICLE WAS CHECKED AT THIS TIME, NO PROBLEM FOUND.THE NOISE CONTINUED, THEN ON 04/10/10 AT (18,309 MILES) NOW AT STAR CHRYSLER 211-34 JAMAICA AVE. QUEENS NY, 11429 I COMPLAINED AGAIN (SEE ATTACHED INVOICE #CHCS169243). VEHICLE AGAIN WAS CHECKED AND ROAD TESTED. TECH STATED VEHICLE OPERATING AS DESIGNED! NOW ON 3/09/16 DURING MY REGULAR SERVICE AFTER TECH COMPLETED SERVICE AND BACKING VEHICLE OUT OF BAY HE NOTICED THE HESITATION/NOISE WHICH HAS BEEN THEIR ALL THE TIME. I STARTING DRIVING FROM THE INTERSECTION THE LIGHT HAD JUST TURNED GREEN. AFTER GETTING OUT OF THE INTERSECTION THE CAR MADE A LOUD NOISE FROM THE REAR AND STOPPED AND WOULD NOT MOVE.
