TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. UPDATED 3/24/15*CN THE CONSUMER STATED EVERY TIME HE FILLED THE VEHICLE WITH GAS, IT WOULD STALL. UPDATED 03/31/15
BUBBLES IN BACK LEFT TIRE, WHEEL SHAKING, TRUNK CLOSED ON OWNERS HAND. THE DEALERSHIP HOLLYWOOD KIA DID NOT TAKE CAR BACK NEXT DAY, WE LEFT KEYS WITH RECEPTIONIST WHO REFUSED TO GIVE A RECEIPT, KEPT 2000 DEPOSIT AND IS SELLING THE ONLINE FOR 2000 MORE THAN WE PAID. MY NAME STILL ON TITLE. *TR
WE BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW. MY WIFE FILL HER GAS TANK AND WHEN DRIVING OFF THE GAS LOT, HER VEHICLE DIED ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAS HAPPEN ALMOST EVERY TIME SHE GETS GAS. I FEEL THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE AND FROM READING MANY, MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS, THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH CHRYSLER HAS REPLACED THE GAS TANK ON THE 2006 MODEL BUT NOT THE 2005. WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THIS. MY 2005 300C HAS BEEN STALLING SINCE JANUARY 2014, I LATER FOUND OUT DUE TO A FAULTY FUEL TANK. I HAD MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF STALLING AND ENGINE SHUTTERING HARD, AND VERY HARD RESTARTS ALMOST GETTING T-BONED TWO TIMES DURING THE STALL AND RESTART PROCESS. WHILE ON THE WAITING LIST FOR A NEW TANK, MY HEMI ENGINE BLEW UP COSTING 6K FOR A NEW MOTOR. THIS ENGINE WAS METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED WITH RECORDS, I CALLED CHRYSLER AND ASKED THEIR ENGINEERS TO INVESTIGATE "IF THE ENGINE FAILURE COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE TANK HYDRO LOCKING". AFTER MANY CALLS TO UNHELPFUL PEOPLE, SOME OF WHOM DID NOT EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE TANK ISSUE, THE SUPERVISOR REFUSED TO ESCALATE MY REQUEST TO ENGINEERING AND SUMMARILY CLOSED THE CASE, IN SPITE OF HIS EMPLOYEE FIRST TELLING ME TO PROVE IT AND HELPING ME GET A TEAR DOWN QUOTE FROM THE LOCAL DEALER FOR A ROOT...
AT A STOP OR LOW SPEED THE CAR WILL SPUTTER, CHUG, JUMP AND DIE. NO DASH INDICATOR LIGHTS COME ON. CAR WILL RESTART. IT MAY OCCUR AT STOP LIGHTS, IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS OR WHEN PARKING. I WAS TOLD BY THE CHRYSLER DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT IT WAS A FUEL TANK PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE SAME PROBLEM MANY OTHER CHRYSLER 300'S HAVE BEEN HAD, BUT MY MODEL WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE FROM MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME SYMPTOMS. I SEE THAT OTHER CHRYSLER MODELS HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER A NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE13016. IN MY CASE, I DO NOT KNOW IF THE PROBLEM HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE FUEL LEVEL OR THE TANK BEING RECENTLY FILLED. IT IS SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN SINCE THE CAR CAN DIE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION, OR MAYBE IN A PARKING...
MY DAUGHTER (12YRS.) AND I WERE ON THE FREEWAY/CAR POOL LANE (DOUBLE YELLOW LINES) AND THE CAR STALLED/TURNED OFF COMPLETELY. I TRIED NOT TO PANIC BUT I DAUGHTER DID WHEN THE LIGHTS, ENGINE AND NOT TO MENTION THE STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY HARD TO TURN. MY DAUGHTER & I ARE DRIVING MY CAR, A 2005 CHRYSLER 300C WITH THE V8 ENGINE AND EXPERIENCING A STALLING PROBLEM AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS. UPON LEAVING THE GAS STATION AND MERGING INTO LOCAL TRAFFIC THE CAR THEN STALLS CAUSING A DRAMATIC LOSS OF SPEED AND LOSS OF CONTROL. ON JANUARY 8, 2014 AT APPROX 2:45 PM I FILLED UP WITH GAS AND CONTINUED HOME 1 BLOCK, AS I ENTERED MY UNDERGROUND PARKING GARAGE MY CAR STALLED, AS I STARTED IT UP, I HEARD LIQUID, I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE IT IN THE GARAGE TO CHECK IT OUT, HOWEVER IT KEPT STALLING. I CALLED MY MECHANIC AND HE CAME THE NEXT MORNING TO CHECK IT OUT, AND MANAGED TO GET IT TO THE SHOP. IT TOOK 2 DAYS TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG, NO CODE CAME UP AS IT WAS CHECKED VIA COMPUTER. IT TURNED OUT THAT THE ROTATOR VALVE ATTACHED TO THE GAS TANK WAS STUCK/BROKEN AND REQUIRED A NEW GAS TANK, THE GAS WENT INTO THE CHARCOAL CANNISTER, ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND 2 NEW FUEL PUMPS AS WELL. I RESEARCHED THE INTERNET AND HAVE SEEN HUNDRED IF NOT MORE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENING...
RIGHT AFTER I FUELED MY CHRYSLER 300C, THE ENGINE STALLED A NUMBER OF TIMES. AT A RED LIGHT IT FELT LIKE MY CAR SURGED FORWARD AS I KEPT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. IT DID NOT START RIGHT AWAY AFTER I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL BUT TURNED OVER AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. WE BROUGHT IT TO OUR CHRYSLER DEALER WHERE WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AND WAS ADVISED ABOUT THE FUEL TANK AND THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED COSTING UPWARDS OF $3,000. *TR
THERE WAS A PENDING INVESTIGATION FOR NEARLY A YEAR NOW WITH CHRYSLER 300 2005-2006 STALLING AFTER FUELING. NHTSA CLOSED IT BECAUSE CHRYSLER STATED THAT THEY WILL EXTEND LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE DEFECTIVE PART. CHRYSLER ISN'T HONORING THIS. ONLY CERTAIN VIN NUMBERS FOR 2005-2006 MODELS. IF THIS IS THE CASE AND IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE, WHY ISN'T CHRYSLER REPLACING EVERYONE'S TANKS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A GARAGE, THE CONTACT SMELLED AN EXTREMELY STRONG ODOR OF FUEL OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, A SMALL AMOUNT OF FUEL LEAKED ONTO THE GROUND. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATED THE FUEL LEAKAGE ORIGINATED FROM THE TOP PORTION OF THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PERMANENT DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

WHEN I FILLED UP MY 2005 CHRYSLER WITH GAS ON JAN. 9TH WITH THE TANK JUST 1/2 FULL AT THE TIME, I DIDN'T EVEN MAKE IT OUT OF THE GAS STATION AND IT KILLED ON ME. THEN I RESTARTED IT AND WITHIN 2 BLOCKS IT KILLED AGAIN LOSING ALL POWER TO THE CAR. I HAVE FILLED UP TWICE SINCE THEN, WITH THE GAS TANK BEING AT 1/4-1/2 FULL EACH TIME. IT HAS STALLED OUT EACH TIME, TWICE WITHIN 2 BLOCKS OF EACH OTHER. RIGHT BEFORE IT KILLS, IT CHUGS AND LURCHES AND THEN JUST QUITS RUNNING. THE LAST TIME WAS YESTERDAY, JAN. 18TH. THIS TIME I WAS ALMOST HIT FROM BEHIND AS I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PUT ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS. *TR

THE RECENT FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH OUT OF THE GAS STATION AND THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN SEVERAL TIMES. SHE WAS ABLE TO GET HOME. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER; HOWEVER THE DIAGNOSE DID NOT THE LOCATE THE FAILURE. SHE ALSO TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED AND THE FAILURE WAS NOT LOCATED. SHE ALSO STATED THAT SHE EXPERIENCED FAILURE WITH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SEATS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
CHRYSLER 300C 2005. AFTER A FUEL TANK FILLUP STARTING FROM LESS THAN 1/2 TANK, FOR THE 1ST 10 MINUTES OF RUN TIME, THE CAR STALLS REPEATEDLY WITH LOSS OF POWER, BRAKING, AND STEERING. AFTER A SMALL AMOUNT OF DRIVING THE PROBLEM STOPS AND NORMAL DRIVING CONTINUES. WHEN THE ENGINE STALLS, THERE IS A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER AND STEERING. WHILE NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED, IT COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED ONE. I SEARCHED ON LINE AND FOUND THAT THIS COULD BE CAUSED BY A RECIRC VALVE. THIS HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. EVERY FILL UP FROM LOT LEVEL RESULTS IN STALLING FOR SEVERAL MINUTES OF DRIVING TIME. *TR

THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT, BUT THEY REFUSED ANY RESPONSIBILITY. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 35,000.
DT: THE CONTACT STATED WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING, LOSES POWER, AND NOISE CAME FROM THE ENGINE. THIS OCCURRED AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE FIRST TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR REPAIRS THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE SECOND TIME, THEY REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS, CLEANED THE FUEL SYSTEM ,AND THE VALVE. ENGINE STALLS REPEATEDLY AFTER FILLING TANK. WHEN AT STOP LIGHT WITHIN 1/2 MILE OF GAS STATION ENGINE QUITS WHILE AT STOP LIGHT. WILL NOT IDLE. AFTER RESTART WHEN DRIVING THE ENGINE WILL SPUTTER. EVENTUALLY ENGINE WILL START RUNNING NORMALLY. *JB
