I purchased the vehicle above used on 4/22/2024 with roughly 70,000 miles on it. At 121,000 miles I lost the reverse gear in the transmission and the vehicle displayed 2 code P0736 and P0792. I call my local Chrysler dealership and inform him of the situation, and the service manage advise me of a recall 44A / NHTSA 23V-301 and asks for the VIN. He tells me that the recall has been completed on the vehicle and the cost to fix (replace the transmission) the vehicle will cost me about $4,000.00. I read the recall notice, and it states the vehicle effected had roughly 133,000 miles. The recall must have been closed by the previous owner but that does not change the fact that the manufactures initial repair did not cure the problem being that my vehicle had the catastrophic failure close to when the manufacture stated the problem in the recall. There are many owners of the same vehicle out there that will attest to the transmission failure on these vehicles. I would hope your department will take a serious look into this matter and hold the manufacture accountable and reimburse the cost of the repairs to the owners.
The contact owns a 2022 Thor Scope RV built on a 2021 Ram Promaster 1500 Chassis. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V552000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the rearview camera was inoperable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
Recall Remedy Failure NHTSA Recall Numbers: 25V-720 (67C) & 25V-552 (59C) I am reporting a failure by FCA US LLC to provide a timely remedy for Recall 25V-720. As of Jan 2026, the remedy remains "under development" since Oct 2025. Specific Safety Concerns for RV Owners: My vehicle is a 2022 Thor Tellaro motorhome. The admitted "Risk of Vehicle Fire" is critical because the vehicle contains propane and lithium/AGM battery systems. Despite the Part 573 report on the NHTSA server listing a "Do Not Drive. Park Outside" advisory, the manufacturer has failed to check these boxes on the consumer-facing summary and has broken links ("File Not Found") for the 67C technical documents on their owner portal. This lack of transparency and the 90+ day delay for a fire-risk remedy has rendered my vehicle unusable. I request that NHTSA investigate why these safety advisories are being obscured from consumers and force the manufacturer to provide a buy-back or immediate repair.
The 2021 Ram ProMaster 2500 I purchased from a dealer on 12/6/25 now has a serious safety defect. The transmission began grinding when shifting into Drive on 1/27/26. Immediately after, the vehicle started rolling backwards while fully in Park with the engine running. This indicates a failure of the parking pawl or internal gearset. The backup camera also does not function, there are coolant and power steering leaks, and the axle/wheel bearing is failing. The dealer claimed the van passed a “120-point inspection,” but it is clearly unsafe and unfit for operation. This defect poses a risk of rollaway injury, crash, and property damage.
