My 2015 Ram 1500 abruptly downshifted into 4th gear while driving down the road at approximately 50 mph. I immediately pulled off the road and found that the truck was stuck in 4th gear. After some research I've found this is very common with the RAM's and that they had a recall on the newer models for the same issue. If I would have been going around a bend when this occurred, it would have caused an accident. I'm not going to have to spend around $1000 to repair something that is an obvious defect. It's going to cause an accident, or more accidents if nothing is done about it.

AFTER GETTING THE FCA EMISSIONS MODIFICATION PUSHED OUT BY RAM/FIAT, I HAVE LOST ABOUT 20-25% GAS MILEAGE AND POWER IN THE TRUCK. THE MODIFICATION HAS RUINED A GREAT TRUCK. TRUCK IS NOW DANGEROUS BECAUSE OF A LAG AND LACK OF POWER. MOD WAS INSTALLED IN SUMMER OF 2019 AND TRUCK IS NOW RUINED.

MY 2015 RAM 1500 SHIFT SELENOID PACK FAILED AND IT SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM OR DEFECT IN THE RAM 1500 OF THAT YEAR. THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED ON NEWER RAM MODELS FOR THIS PART BUT NOT ON THIS YEAR MODEL. THE 2015 RAMS HAVE THE SAME SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SHIFT SELENOID PACK BUT I DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE HAS DONE ANY INVESTIGATION ON THIS FACTORY DEFECT. IT IS VERY COSTLY TO REPAIR AND VERY COMMON. INVOLVING THE ECO DIESEL EMISSIONS UPDATE PERFORMED ON MY 2015 RAM 1500 AT THE DEALERSHIP BY FCA ON 06/11/19 SAID IT WOULD NOT CHANGE THE DRIVEABLITY OF THE VEHICLE BUT IT HAS, IN THE ACCELERATION THAT IS DELAYED OR SOMETIMES JUST NOT THERE AT ALL, THIS IS INCONSISTENT AND INTERMITTENT WHEN PULLING OUT ONTO A ROADWAY I MUST TAKE THE POSSIBILITY IN MIND THAT THE VEHICLE MIGHT NOT GET GOING INTO THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC, I FIND THIS TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD FOR EVERY DAY DRIVERS.
