Rear suspension links rusted out. Repair place says there is a lot of rust issues that will take a lot of work to fix. Excessive rust seems to be issues with Nissan.
The hood flew open upon entering the freeway. Could not see anymore going 60 mph. Had to pull over and bend the fenders back to close the hood. Afraid this will happen again. The latch was recalled before this happened and the dealer sprayed it and said it was safe to drive which it was not. They said nissan would not cover any repairs that are now needed to the hood and fenders.
I bought this car from Auto Auction Group Inc in Los Angeles, Ca. When I bought the vehicle it read 103,158 miles on the odometer, however I learned recently through a car fax, that when the car was received by auto auction group it had 222,854. They rolled back the odometer committing fraud and putting me at risk and selling me a lemon that was basically on its way to break down sooner rather than later. I also learned they had erased the check engine warning so it seemed like the car was fine.

I have taken the car to 3 mechanics for 4-5 incidents knowing that the mechanics were indeed certified in professionally fixing the issue. I was driving the car and made a proper left turn, yielding to oncoming traffic when suddenly the vehicle was unable to accelerate. The other car was approaching and I pushed on the gas as hard as I could to barely get it to move out of the way, luckily avoid a collision. The car died and will restart and drive another 11 miles, repeating the process. No mechanic has been able to properly identify the cause. Please understand, I could be that "lies" to individuals in order to sell the car, but do I really want to put another person's life at such a faulty incident? Passenger airbag safety light does not light up as it should, shows passenger isn't wearing seat belt when they are. Airbag might not deploy under these conditions. There was a recall for this, took to dealership, was not corrected. Transmission stalls and studders, will not accelerate due to faulty CVT. Causes near miss accidents. Shift lock occasionally prevents car from changing from park, reverse, drive.
Delayed acceleration after making a stop, high RPMs when accelerating after making a stop. All above conditions appears to happen randomly.
Hello, I took my Nissan Altima into my local Nissan dealer for a hood latch recall on 11/13/2023. On [XXX] at about [XXX] I was driving my car at a speed of maybe 45-50mph and my hood flew open hitting my windshield causing damage to my car, and scaring my son and I. I called the dealer the next morning and spoke to Anthony from the service department regarding this situation, and he stated a faulty latch could have been put on my car, causing this to happen. I sent pictures to him via email, and he advised that he would contact the director and call me back with an update. I received a callback within hours advising Nissan would cover the damages but I would need to contact consumer affairs to see which location could do the repairs as they were behind by 8 month at that location in...
Hood latch cable snatched it was recall on thi vehicle
My son was driving on the highway when all of a sudden the car would no longer excel when he pressed on the gas. He immediately moved over in traffic to get to the side of the road and just barely made it before the car completely stopped moving. He was very lucky that he reacted in the way he did being a new driver on the road. This could have been EXTREMELY bad if he didn't think to move over and in the correct direction to make it all the way through traffic around him. The transmission is the component that failed. The issue was inspected and confirmed by the dealer and replaced. No warning lights came on when this issue occured.
Steady Check Engine light came on April 25, 2023. Just had oil change/filter done day before. Had tune-up done May 25, 2023. Had mechanic who replaced my catalytic converter and (2) O2 sensors a year ago check my car. Found that the inside of the catalytic converter was melted. They checked for a fuel leak in engine, none found. Replaced catalytic converter and front O2 sensor. As of today, no Steady Check Engine light has come back on. I think a Flashing Check Engine light should have displayed for something as serious as a fuel leak. What if my car caught fire while driving? Also, I was told several years ago by a local Nissan dealer that my driver side airbag would need replacing - that indicator light never came back on the dash board either. Faulty sensors? I notified Nissan in TN by mail.
Local (Rockwall Texas) Nissan dealership does not have the parts for recall on 1n4al3ap7dn404470. I've been waiting for a year.
The CVT was making noise and vibrated. We did some research on line and read that the 2013 Nissan Sentra already had a transmission recall and many reported safety incidents. We saw many complaints for the 2013 Altima transmission but no recalls. The dealer said the transmission must be replaced but we would have to pay for it and they would contact us if a recall was announced. There was a recall for the CVT software and the owner notification states that that this issue could lead ro accelerated wear and damage to the CVT. I would think that they would then need to cover a failed transmission.

The rear suspension lower links on my 2013 Nissan Altima corroded and broke away from the joints on both sides. The rear passenger was affected in July 2022 and the rear driver side was affected in October 2022. Both incidents happened as I was backing out of my drive-way and the rear lower links literally snapped and broke away from the vehicle. After my Altima was at the body shop for the second time to replace the driver rear suspension lower link, we discovered a Campaign by Nissan that was entitled "Altima Rear Lower Link" and it affected 2013 Nissan Altima's (which we had) and the campaign went on to indicate that this was in states with high road salt usage. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS PULLING TO ONE SIDE AS I DROVE TO WORK. AFTER I PARKED MY CAR I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND SOMETHING FELL OUT OF THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR. While driving at 35mph on a city road the car hood flew up open & smashed into the windshield despite their supposed fix of hood latch spring being replaced & assembly lubricated by the Nissan dealership in Aug 2021 due to a Nissan hood latch recall (NHTSA recall 16V-029) in response to a class action lawsuit. Shift stuck in park. Shift assembly needs replacing due to bad interlock solenoid. $1000.00 to fix. This problem has affected many cars and Nissan will do nothing about it.
The airbag light has come on on the dash and does not go out. It doesn't matter if someone is in the seat with or without the seat belt. It stays on. Now I'm worried the airbag won't work in an accident or it might go off/explode at any time.
Got recall for hood latch handled in September of 2021. While driving on the highway at 70 mph the hood flew open which caused severe damage to vehicle and almost causing numerous of crashes. Vehicle is being repaired per dealer however this is the third time this issue occurred and at this point I am afraid to drive the vehicle and nervous for anyone with these vehicles to continue driving them honestly. I am unsure what to do at this point considering what if this happens again and the outcome isn't as good as previously. I just feel as though if this issue can't be corrected after 5 recalls why continue to have these vehicles on the road.
2013 Altima 3.5 SL. the passenger door handle popped and wont open from the inside, you have to roll the window down and open it from the outside, if you cant get out of your car in an emergency it is a life or death situation.
My automatic vehicle is stuck in park- either the shift lock solenoid component or the actual assembly and/ore electric that activates the ability to move out of park is defective. If you use a tool and manually override shift lock you can move out of gear. There are thousands of complaints and videos online about this same issue. The fix is anywhere from 500 to 1k at a repair shop. This is an extremely dangerous condition as there is no way to ever quickly get out of the way - of anything- if your vehicle is in park.
CVT Transmission failed, they know the 2013 model has a bad transmission and instead of recalling it they only did an extended 2 year warranty in a class action lawsuit. The car should not be on the road we just paid our car off not knowing about this issue and the car stopped in the middle of traffic and would not drive. We got it towed to a Nissan Dealership to find out it needs a new Transmission and that's when we learned about all the issues of the CVT Transmission issues on the 2013 model. Uploaded towing bill, do not have the invoice from the dealership yet but they are stating 5900.00 to replace the transmission which is crazy now seeing everything online knowing it's a faulty part.

My 2013 Nissan Altima has serious electrical problems and continues to drain my battery, leaving me seeking alternative transportation to and from home, work, etc. The headlight low and high beams are dangerously dim! I have replaced the bulbs several times and the problems continues to get worse. I have seen litigation online with numerous people involved. I thought NTSB would have acted by now? I have also had numerous problems with the AC not working? I am getting estimates currently looking at a $2,000 problem. The lights on this car have always had an issue ever since I bought it off the lot in 2014 new with 35 miles on the car. The first couple of years I continued to return to the dealer where I bought the car to have them replace the lights but I got tired of dealing with returning to not get favorable results. It for sure is a Nissan issue. The cosmetic light strips on the rearview mirrors on both sides of the vehicle also had condensation visibly in the strips as well. I had those also supposedly replaced as well. The issue is still there all these years later just got annoyed with returning to the dealer and wasting lots of time with no results. The gear shifter in my 2013 Nissan Altima will not shift. I turn on the vehicle. I then place my foot on the brake and push the button to shift gears and nothing happens. The unit is locked I cannot shift to any gear. I has to tow the vehicle home. I did not find out until later that a plastic piece can be popped out and a screwdriver or key could be pressed on the mechanism inside the hole to release the gear shifter to shift. In recent times there have been random shootings and car jackings in and around the Chicago area. I am very concerned with this for I or a family member could become a victim if the situation is presented. With no way to shift gears, we cannot avoid a potential emergency situation.
Gear shift stays stuck in Park and takes 10 minutes to get out of Park if the safety button works. This is a known problem with Nissan's all over social media and youtube has videos about this issue with the gear shift going out and not functioning.Please add this to the recall please take the time so consumers can drive safely again.
On Sunday August 29th 2021 my hood came up while I was driving and broke the front window glass and damaged both sides of the side hood due to the latch not being secured and lose and not being applied the right way.
Component malfunctioned - Driver sun visor comes down randomly & always over bumps. 2013 Altima is available for inspection. Risk factor - Visor came down randomly while I was driving in rush hour beltway traffic and hit me in the nose, blurred my vision and put me and my passenger at severe safety risk. Problem confirmed by independent service center No other inspections No warnings. First started in 2018 but has gotten progressively worse to the point of almost causing accidents due to hindering my vision while driving and/or hitting me in the face.
I went to recall for Altima hood latch no repair, alt rge cvt p0766 ntb16-121, max alt rg mur ocs ntb16-052 and altima hood latch ntb16-011. There were no safety issues with vehicle operation before the recall. The KatyNissan called me on June 7th to notify me that they fried the components during the computer diagnosis. The KatyNissan told me that they will charge Nissan USA for it. I went to the KatyNissan to pick up my car on June 8th, the transmission and i-key warning lights appeared on the head-up display. I called the person in charge and said, "Why is this happening?" He asked me to pay $100 to re-synchronize the car keys because he reprogramed the car computer due to the fry up, and the car jerks violently when shifting the gear. OVER 500+ COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE ABOUT THE SHIFT LEVER GETTING STUCK IN PARK, AND THE ISSUE IS DUE TO A WEAK PLASTIC BIT THAT BREAKS ON THE INSIDE OF THE CENTER CONSOLE.
