TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVER'S SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE FAILED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT, PREVIOUSLY, BOTH THE REAR AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT A REDUCED COST FOR THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR HANDLES; HOWEVER, THE DEALER (NISSAN OF VICTORIA, 6003 N NAVARRO ST, VICTORIA, TX 77904, (361) 578-5000) DECLINED TO REPAIR THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE SINCE IT WAS STILL OPERATIONAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONLY THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.

THE BATTERY HAD BEEN CHANGED OUT THREE TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE WAS STILL BEING EXPERIENCED. THE DEALER (TOWN CENTER NISSAN, 2310 BARRETT LAKES BLVD NW, KENNESAW, GA 30144) INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE DOOR HANDLE FAILURE "COULD BE A SAFETY RISK". THE DEALER STATED THAT THE REASON THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START WAS DUE TO CORROSION OF THE BATTERY TERMINALS. BOTH REPAIRS WOULD BE AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE BOTH FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
