TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDOWS FAILED TO ROLL UP AND ROLL DOWN AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT HAD THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW REPLACED AT YOUNGBLOOD AUTO GROUP (3410 S CAMPBELL AVE, SPRINGFIELD, MO 65807, (417) 882-3838) HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE WINDOWS ALSO EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE. THE CONTACT USED AN OBJECT TO KEEP WINDOWS IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WAS DEACTIVATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

ALSO, THE CONTACT STATED THAT A RUBBER PLUG ALSO FAILED WHICH ALLOWED WATER INSIDE THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, WHERE THE RUBBER PLUG WAS REPLACED. SAME GAS PROBLEM IT OVERFLOWS TANK WHEN FILLING IT. ABS LIGHT, ESP BAS, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON AND BRAKES GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AT TIMES. WINDOW REGULATORS KEEP GOING OUT MAKING MY VEHICLE UNSAFE FOR ME TO PUT MY CHILD IN. AS A SINGLE PARENT I CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP PAYING FOR COSTLY REPAIRS (MAINLY THE WINDOWS) TO PREVENT MY CHILD FROM GETTING SICK IN WISCONSIN WINTER. IN 2010 I PURCHASED A USED 2007 JEEP LIBERTY FROM A DEALERSHIP. WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH OF THE PURCHASE THE MECHANISM INSIDE THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR BROKE CAUSING THE WINDOW TO DROP INTO THE DOOR RENDERING IT UNUSABLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPAIRED THE MECHANISM FOR FREE. IN 2012 THE SAME MECHANISM IN THE SAME DOOR BROKE AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE BUT WAS FORCED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR MYSELF AS JEEP HAS NOT YET RECALLED THE MECHANISM. YESTERDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2013 THE MECHANISM BROKE AGAIN THIS TIME IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN BUT HAVE NOT YET SCHEDULED A TIME TO FIX THE UNIT. I DO NOT FEEL AS IF I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR AS IT IS AN ON-GOING ISSUE AND OBVIOUSLY A DEFECTIVE...

THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES TO HAVE THE WINDOW REGULATORS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUOUSLY RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE TO THE CONTACT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,999 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,000.

ALSO, THE SWITCHES THAT ARE IN THE MIDDLE AREA BETWEEN THE SEATS, THE ONE FOR THE BACK DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER SIDE, QUIT WORKING ALL TOGETHER. TOWARD THE END OF FEBRUARY OR THE BEGINNING OF MARCH WE WERE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD ( GRANDSON WAS IN THE BACK LUCKILY ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE IN HIS CAR SEAT) AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW STARTED MALFUNCTIONING (WHEN YOU WENT TO ROLL IT UP THE MOTOR THAT ROLLS IT UP STARTED MAKING NOISE) AND THE WINDOW DROPPED AND SOMEHOW JAMMED THE DOOR COMPLETELY SHUT AND WE CANNOT OPEN...

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE TECHNICIANS ADVISED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATOR WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED ON THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO WAS ALSO UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATORS WERE FAULTY AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO CLOSE THE WINDOWS ONCE THEY HAD BEEN OPENED. THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WAS REPLACED TWICE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,120 AND THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 45,000.

JEEP LIBERTY: DUE TO A DISABILITY, I CANNOT REACH SNOW ON ROOF TO CLEAR. DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH, BRAKING TO SLOW DOWN FOR STOP SIGN, ALL THE HEAVY SNOW ON ROOF SLID FORWARD, COMPLETELY COVERED WINDSHIELD. I WAS A BLIND DRIVER FOR AT LEAST 100 FEET. NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME THIS TIME, THANK GOD. HAD TO STOP IN MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD TO CLEAR WINDSHIELD. NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN WITH ANY CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. I AM 62 AND OWNED A LOT OF CARS. I HAVE OWNED MY 2007 JEEP LIBERTY SINCE JUNE 2007. TODAY MY RIGHT REAR PASSENGER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED. THIS IS THE 6TH OCCURRENCE OF THIS HAPPENING SINCE I'VE OWNED MY VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED AT THE DEALER. THE IDENTICAL FAILURE OCCURRED PREVIOUSLY WITH THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AUTOMATIC WINDOW IN WHICH THE WINDOW REGULATOR AND GLASS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

AT FIRST THE WINDOW WAS HAVING TROUBLE GO UP BY ITSELF AND THEN YESTERDAY IT MADE A POPPING NOISE AND THE GLASS FELL DOWN COMPLETELY AND WILL NOT COME BACK UP. THIS IS A REPEAT OCCURRENCE, ALL 4 WINDOWS WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AT 29,000 MILES AFTER 26 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP UNDER TSB 2300809 AT A COST TO CHRYSLER OF $1,332.40. NOW THE LATEST WINDOW FAIL HAPPENED DURING NON-USE, WHILE I WAS INSIDE MY WORK BUILDING. THIS WINDOW IS BARELY USED; I HARDLY CARRY PASSENGERS. IT HAS BEEN 23,000 MILES AND 17 MONTHS SINCE THE ENTIRELY NEW UNIT WAS PUT IN. * * I CAME OUT OF WORK, AND THE WINDOW HAD SLID DOWN INTO THE DOOR SOMETIME DURING THE DAY. ADDITIONALLY, I WAS UNABLE TO CLOSE THE DOOR AFTER I USED A PLASTIC BAG TO COVER THE WINDOW DUE TO THE WIRE CABLE BLOCKING THE DOOR LATCH * * THIS CAN LEAD TO INCREASED THEFT, DAMAGE FROM THE WEATHER, AS WELL AS TO PASSENGERS (SPECIFICALLY A BABY) IN THE BACKSEAT DURING FAIL. BOTH REAR POWER WINDOWS HAVE FAILED WITHIN THE LAST 2 DAYS. BOTH WINDOWS HAVE FALLEN, WILL NO LONGER ROLL UP, AND ARE CURRENTLY BEING HELD UP WITH THE HELP OF A WOODEN SHIM. *TR

I OWN A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. IN APRIL 2010, I HAD TO HAVE THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR, MOTOR AND GLASS (NOTHING WRONG WITH THE GLASS) FOR THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT AND REAR REPLACED. OF COURSE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. I WAS TOLD THAT THE REGULATOR FAILED BUT I HAD TO HAVE ALL REPLACED. I WAS TOLD THAT THE DESIGN FOR THE 2007 REGULATOR WAS CHANGED AND THAT IS WHY I HAD TO HAVE ALL REPLACED AT A COST OF $425.00 EACH. NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW JUST DROPPED DOWN INTO THE DOOR WITHOUT WARNING (AUG 25,2010). I ASSUME THAT I WILL HAVE TO HAVE THE REGULATOR, MOTOR AND GLASS (AGAIN NOTHING WRONG WITH THE GLASS) REPLACED AT ANOTHER $425.00. I AM JUST WAITING FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE GLASS TO FALL INTO THE DOOR AND HAVE TO REPLACE THAT ALSO. I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS...
THE WINDOW ON MY 07 JEEP LIBERTY STARTED MAKING NOISES WHEN IT WAS ROLLING DOWN AND UP, HOWEVER IT ONLY DID THAT ONCE AND IT STOPPED GOING DOWN OR UP ALTOGETHER. THE WINDOW FALLS DOWN ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING, SHUTTING THE DOOR, OR EVEN JUST SITTING THERE. IT FALLS DOWN ABOUT AN INCH AT FIRST AND GRADUALLY GOES DOWN ABOUT ANOTHER INCH. I CONTINUOUSLY HAVE TO PULL THE WINDOW UP MYSELF, JUST TO KEEP IT UP FOR THE SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. THE DEALERSHIP STATED IT WAS A REGULATOR, BUT I HAD TO GET A WHOLE NEW "UPGRADE" FOR MY YEAR OF THE CAR. I BELIEVE THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR ALL OF THESE PARTS, WHEN IT IS HAPPENING TO EVERYONE. I HAVE SEEN SO MANY COMMENTS AND COMPLAINTS. I PURCHASED A JEEP LIBERTY IN 2007, WITHIN A FEW MONTHS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE I HAD TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET THE WINDOWS FIXED BECAUSE THEY WOULD FALL DOWN THE DOOR AND OFF THE TRACK. THIS HAS NOW OCCURRED EVERY 3 MONTHS BUT ALL DIFFERENT WINDOWS IN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE ASKED BEFORE WHY THEY KEEP NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AND I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE MOTOR FOR THE WINDOWS IS A CHEAP PLASTIC PART THAT DOESN'T HOLD UP WELL. WINDOW CARRIER ON REAR PASSENGER WINDOW JEEP LIBERTY FAILED WHILE IN A CAR WASH. THIS RESULTED IN WINDOW FALLING IN ITS TRACK WITH THE CONSEQUENT IMPACT OF BABY IN CAR SEAT EXPOSED TO SOAP, LIQUID, AND ASSOCIATED PERILS OF BRUSHES AND POISONS. THIS IS SECOND IDENTICAL FAILURE OF POWER WINDOW REGULATOR ON MY VEHICLE AND IS VERY VERY COMMON AS REPORTED IN MANY INTERNET FORUMS. VEHICLE IS 2007 JEEP LIBERTY WITH ONLY 8500 MILES ON IT AND THE REAR WINDOWS ARE VERY INFREQUENTLY USED OR OPENED - MAYBE 20 TIMES IN THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE WHICH I HAVE HAD SINCE NEW!! RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET REVEALS THAT THIS FAILURE HAPPENS OFTEN ON THIS VEHICLE. LOSS OF THE WINDOW CAN RESULT IN PERSONAL DANGER IN CASE OF ACCIDENT OR INCLEMENT WEATHER. PERSONAL SAFETY IS ALSO COMPROMISED WHEN YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO KEEP THE WINDOWS UP. LOSS OF CONTENTS OF THE VEHICLE IS POSSIBLE IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN WHILE THE LIBERTY IS LEFT UNATTENDED. MY "FIX" WAS TO WIRE THE WINDOW SHUT. AFTERMARKET PARTS ARE AVAILBLE ON EBAY AND OTHER INTERNET STORES. JEEP'S FIX IS TO REPLACE THE WINDOW AND THE REGULATOR WITH PARTS FROM THE PREVIOUS MODEL LIBERTY'S PARTS BIN(A BETTER MADE DESIGN). JEEP NEEDS TO RECALL THIS AND MAKE THE REPAIR AT THEIR EXPENSE. *CN
I HAVE HAD TWO OF THE FOUR WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL ON OUR JEEP LIBERTY, WHAT WAS PURCHASED NEW, AT THE END OF 2007. THIS FAILURE CAUSES THE WINDOW TO FALL DOWN, INTO THE DOOR AND HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A DESIGN FLAW, ENOUGH THAT JEEP HAS COMPLETELY RE-DESIGNED THE REGULATOR AND WINDOW. I HAD THE FIRST FAIL AT 36,600 MILES, LAST JUNE (JUST PASSED WARRANTY) AND THE SECOND FAILED IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR. LOOSING A WINDOW ON THE FREEWAY IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE- AND NOT TO MENTION HOW YOUR FAMILIES EARS FEEL AFTERWARDS. 2007 JEEP LIBERTY WINDOW REGULATORS CONTINUALLY FAILING. MY PASSENGER FRONT WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR. THE DEALER REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY. DRIVER'S WINDOW BEGAN TO SLIDE ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE IN DEC. 2008. BACK PASSENGER WINDOW STUCK ABOUT 2 INCHES DOWN AND THEN SUDDENLY CAME CRASHING DOWN WHILE I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE. IT NEARLY SCARED ME TO DEATH! THE BACK WINDOW IS IN THE DOOR. WE TRY TO KEEP THE WINDOW COVERED AND ARE NOT CURRENTLY DRIVING THE VEHICLE BECAUSE WE CAN'T AFFORD THE REPAIR RIGHT NOW. OCCASIONALLY THE WIND PULLS THE PROTECTIVE COVERING OFF, AND WE HAVE RAIN STAINS ON THE SEATS AS A RESULT.
