Rocker arm bearings went bad, need to replace all rockers and perhaps a cam or 2, this is know as the Penstar tick due to poor quality metals from Chrysler . They need to do a recall and fix for all affected cars as this is a labor intensive job and could cost up to 3000 dollars in repairs!

On the highway my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel briefly stalled and the check engine light came on. I then lost all power and could only maintain a speed of 45MPH in a 70MPH speed limit highway. I turned on my flashers and could not get off the road due to construction and Jersey barriers for several miles. When I had the opportunity I pulled off the side of the road and called to have my vehicle towed to a service facility. I was informed by the mechanic that scanned my car for trouble codes, a P0336-00 was set in my PCM. The mechanic informed me that I would have to take the vehicle to a Jeep Chrysler dealer. This is apparently a known issue with 2014 to 2018 Jeep Grad Cherokees equipped with the 3.0L diesel engine including RAM 1500s of the same vintage with the same diesel engine...

"Check shifter" seems to come on almost everyday. From what I've gathered about it it could shift out of gear while driving. Could be a sensor or harness issue that I was told by a mechanic. No incident yet. This should be recalled as it seems to be a common issue with this Jeep.

Th cylinder has low compression causing misfire in the vehicle. The misfire can cause the vehicle to lose power. If you lose power on a highway it could cause an accident. This has not happened to me, but I have read the cyinder issue is a common problem with the 2015 jeep grand cherokee Seems like bad parts. A mechanic has ascertained the problem with my vehicle. Driving on highway 290 West near Waller. At 75mph I attempted to pass slower traffic by accelerating after moving into the farthest left (passing) lane when my Jeep lost power. Had to maneuver while coasting between traffic in lanes (frogger anyone?) to farthest right lane by coasting through to an exit by chance. Would not restart while coasting. Jeep issued a recall almost a year and a half ago, and have taken no action

I was driving in the high and when I went to accelerate the vehicle went into “limp” mode. I made it to the closest dealership to get checked. The dealership explained to me the tone wheel delaminated and that is the reason my check engine light came on. The codes read camshaft position sensor issue, but the dealership said it is because of the delaminated tone wheel

Loud ticking noise from engine that speeds up upon acceleration. Failing rocker arm causing debris leading to ticking noise. No error codes. Upon personal investigation online, have found "Pentastar Tick" to be a known problem in 2013-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokees on Jeep forums. Problem can lead to misfire while driving, including jerking, damage to cam shaft, as well as engine damage.

Transmission failed when I was merging on a highway. Had it replaced and still doesn’t seem normal. This is the electronic shift and apparently has nonstop issues with the 2015 model. Will probably need replaced again before warranty is up and it was done at a jeep dealership.

While driving my car, it will randomly shift into neutral. The engine will almost shut off while the battery will remain on. I can hear My Jeep clicking into every gear and making a ticking noise this is because of the faulty shifter in these jeeps. Also the computer isn’t working correctly software is to old to update.

There is loud ticking/tapping noise coming from the engine when in motion or when the engine idles. This vehicle was not inspected by the dealer (out of warranty) or the police but was inspected by my mechanic and is available for inspection anytime, upon request. At time, the noise become extremely loud and scary and is a cause for great concern, especially knowing that this vehicle is mostly driven daily on the highway for at least 1 hour one way. This noise suddenly appeared about 9 year ago as a slight ticking/tapping but got progressively worse.

There are two issues. One is that the air bag light is on and never goes away and could mean faulty air bags, two the car is making a clicking noise and jerking when accelerating and the 4 wheel drive service light has come on.
