While driving vehicle shifts into neutral and displays a low voltage message. I was young 75 mph down the high way and the car shifted into neautral without indication that anything is happening.
In Aug my warning light came on, I called Mopar was given a case number it was not until October that I was contacted after repeatedly calling for status. The is was the EGR Cooler which Mopar showed had been replaced when recall issued, I was advised by Stellantis to have towed to dealer, it was towed Oct 15, dealer advised it was replaced a few years earlier but I provided proof it had not, dealer then replaced but then advised it could not be cranked due to not holding coolant, it was not doing this prior to being towed. I then asked for the outstanding recalls to be completed, they advised no parts…I see now one is showing incomplete that should have been done, the other is a problem with part, I called after receiving a letter those parts were in and they said they were not, I then...
Catastrophic engine failure. Engine stalled while driving and over heated. Smoke came from engine. Spitzer CDJR Homestead confirmed the engine failure with their findings "a profuse amount of metal particles in oil filter bowl and throughout oil filter." Warning lamps indication: Check engine light, low oil pressure warning light, throttle selector valve requires servicing. Unable to turn on engine.
I need help! Please! My car is under the X78 Extended Ecodiesel Warranty. The Government (EPA) sued FCA back in 2019 for making these cars with over 14 illegal deletes, like Volkswagen. Instead of making them buy the cars back, they let them say they would make all repairs related to this huge list of components. I’ve had nothing but problems the past almost 2 years. My jeep was at one dealership a full year. Now it’s at another dealership in Ennis Texas for about 59 days now. . My jeep went into limp in mode in front of an 18- wheeler on interstate 45, I was almost killed. I was so afraid! I sent a letter requesting they contact the manufacturer as they have said so on the paperwork. I’ve gone to get my car 4 tiles and it’s still not repaired. I get a text message on Saturday...
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH, the instrument panel became inoperable. The contact stated that the jerked and failed to properly shift gear. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle had been diagnosed by an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a faulty engine. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the vehicle overheated. The contact stated that the battery consistently failed, and the vehicle had stopped accelerating as needed. The vehicle became inoperable intermittently. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle had not been diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that an unknown recall repair for the failure had already been performed. The failure mileage was 144,231.

Fuel line issues, repaired then catalytic converter not working. Somewhere leaking oil. I have read this model is known for emissions, fuel line, catalytic converter issues
The vehicle above has started a countdown to where the engine will not restart in x amount of miles. I have replaced many parts to remedy the situation and taken to shops, mobile mechanics, etc. nobody can remedy this situation and I am left without a vehicle as it will not restart. The dealership says they’re so backed up and unable to get me in for 2 months. I am left without a vehicle and have no means of getting to my job let alone around.
Two open recalls on the vehicle (6/9/22 and 6/8/23) that have no repair available. 1. Both recalls can result in immediate and unexpected loss of vehicle power and "cause a vehicle to crash without prior warning" 2. DMV (CA Registered) will not issue current registration tags or paperwork due to recalls being incomplete. 3. Vehicle has had multiple issued related Diesel Engine, including entering into limp mode unexpectedly and incomplete diesel exhaust regeneration which has made it unsafe to drive at highway speeds. I have attempted to call the dealership every month and each time they have no solution as the manufacturer has not released a repair.
Since day 1 of purchase, There has been a significant consumption of oil being burned. 1 quart per 1,000 miles. No warning light, the only warning is the engine shuts down when a certain level is reached. Happens on the road while in motion "shuts off" with no warning. Oil change is supposed to be changed at 10,000 miles. Car take 6 quarts of oil total . At 3,000 miles only 3 quarts empties.
Car shut down and engine stalled while driving. I coasted to a stop in the middle of traffic. Car would not restart. Had to get towed home. There are two open recalls on this vehicle- one for fuel pump and one for tone wheel. The dealers say they can’t fix it because no parts are available. This is unacceptable. One recall has been issued over a year ago. This is my primary vehicle. I have already had to borrow a family members vehicle for weeks now. I cannot wait months hoping for parts to become available. I need recall work to be performed now or at least a temporary fix to get me back on the road.
Safety recall Z46 has been published for over a year and Jeep keeps telling me they cannot get parts. My fuel pump started making a loud ticking noise and I needed to make a 2000 mile trip to western states where support is not readily available. I checked and had no problem finding parts to complete the recall. I contacted Jeep customer care and they authorized me to buy the parts and have the work completed at a Jeep dealership then apply fur the reimbursement. I bought a fuel pump, had the work completed, and applied did reimbursement but Jeep customer care will not pay for the recall work or part as the pump had not failed. I believe that Jeep is stalling the completion of this recall hoping that there will be fewer still in service once they do start the work. I found parts available from over 10...
RECALL #22V-406 Has not been replaced the part has been failing for the last 2.5 years. The stalling situation is getting worse. It does not come to a complete stall at least not while in traffic but it will start to stall and cough and sputter while under power at residential speed of 30-35 mph, city driving of 40 -50 mph, and at highway speeds of 70-75 mph. It is increasingly getting worse. We have taken the vehicle to multiple dealers only to be told that the needed repair has still not been developed yet. (the repair is to replace the HPFP before my wife and grandkids get ran over on the highway or coming out of the local grocery stores parking lot). The problem has been identified and the repair to the problem has been realized, but the manufacturer will not commit to the repair. How many people will...
I have a 2014 keep grand Cherokee. The car has made shifting noises and changed gears. The sensor goes on and then comes off.The car had suddenly lost power and then it makes a clinking sound and goes back to gear.. I was on the highway when this happened and almost got into a crash. This vehicle is not used often and well maintained.I took it to be checked from diagnostic and it read codes about a module and defective cranks. The shop informed me that many people were having the same issues and that there was a recall due to this. That the crank shift position was defective and causing transmission issues as well.He also stated that recalls for software issue that needed to be updated which many 2014 jeeps had the same issues. I called Chrysler to find out about the recalls and they stated that there were2014recalls for this but not...
My JGC 2014. I was on a 5 lane interstate in the far left lane when my car started decelerating at a speed of 64mph. As I was merging into the left emergency lane it switched into neutral gear. I then proceeded to stop and put the Jeep into park and turn it off. Prior to this incident my check engine light had just illuminated a month prior and I ran a diagnostic computer test and it returned stating it was an EVAP problem. I haven’t had any systems. So I was waiting on my first check to get it taking care of (meaning no gas smell in the cabin, no fuel leaks under vehicle, no bad gas mileage). So the police came to my rescue and helped me pull the emergency neutral pull in the middle console in order to get it off closer to the median so I...
While approaching a intersection, the vehicles engine stalled. The vehicle shifted itself into neutral. The loss of power in neutral resulted in a loss of power steering and power braking. The vehicle had diminished controls in traffic with 3 occupants. (2 adults, 1 infant.) Vehicle was stopped using emergency brake in turn lane. Local police were required to use push bar to move vehicle due to blocking traffic. No warning or lights on dash prior to failure. Vehicle pushed to dealership. Dealership diagnosed part failure consistent with open recall. No solution from manufacturer.
My vehicle has 2 recalls on faulty parts that can cause catastrophic failure. There are no replacement parts or repairs available to owners of these cars. FCA US should have offered loaner vehicles to owners a long time ago. Instead, they indicate that they will give loaner cars once the Grand Cherokee breaks down or crashes as a result of the faulty parts. This is not acceptable. I now have a vehicle that I paid over $47,000 for that is useless and worthless - I cannot drive it knowing it could have an "unexpected loss of motive power" and I cannot sell it with 2 serious unrepairable recalls. FCA US needs to be forced to offer loaner vehicles or buy these Grand Cherokees back from owners at a fair price.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine Failure and Lack of Accountability by the Manufacturer Dear NHTSA, I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing situation regarding the Jeep Grand Cherokee and its e$th ongine issues. I have been experiencing an ongoing nightmare with my vehicle, which was supposed to be covered by a 100,000-mile engine warranty. However, after only 8,000 miles, the engine suffered a catastrophic failure, and Jeep has chosen not to take responsibility for the problem. It is evident that this engine has a significant factory defect, as my research has revealed numerous cases of the same issue. Many owners have faced similar engine failures, and it is disheartening to see that Jeep has not acknowledged this widespread problem. Compounding the issue is the lack of available spare parts for the necessary repairs. As a result, my vehicle has become inoperable, leaving me with a substantial financial burden...
traveling on S Sterling Street in Morganton, NC on the morning of July 12, 2023. We were going speed limit20 mph on a one way street, then car made rumbling sound and accelerated on its own at approximately 60-70 mph. I put on brakes, but car did not slow down...weaved thru traffic to avoid hitting anyone..could not get car to slow down and unfortunately hit a car in front of us. All persons were taken to hospital..myself, my wife and person in the other car that was impacted. All persons suffered broken bones. Both cars were totaled. Since accident have read up on this type vehicle accelerating on its own. We were lucky no one was killed. This needs to be looked into before it takes a life.
Car has randomly turned off and not turned on. Jeep has had car for over 3 months, charged me over $4K and has yet to find a solution
The left bank intake camshaft and roller rockers have failed. It has cause the check engine light to come on and go off reading a misfire in cylinder 2. After costly repairs to coil packs and plugs, Chrysler is now going to replace with a cost of $1,900.00. This is the same issue in the 2013 Jeep that Chrysler extended the warranty on and won’t do it now on this year model.
I was drive on the highway
My 2014 jeep cheroke limited stopped working without any prior warning. I was driving on the highway with my company children. I was going at a speed of 65 miles per hour, when it began to fail in a life, first I noticed the air conditioning stopped working, then I slowed down and stopped accelerating, I noticed that the speed changes suddenly began to change from Drive ( D) to neutral (N), and I got a picture on the dash saying I needed to check my transmission. So what I wanted was to get off the road because I was afraid that my three children were with me and I was afraid that something bad would happen, but the bad thing is that I couldn't stop, because there wasn't enough and safe space where I could stop the truck. and many cars came behind me. So I went about a...
This recall, campaign number 22V-406, has been open for 13 months at this point. How long is it acceptable to still be waiting on parts and a plan from Stellantis to address a potential safety issue that warranted a recall.
Jeep shifts into neutral while driving and Jeep also loses power while driving on the highway! The check engine light would come on and then go off, and stay off. Transmission or Engine possibly.
The outstanding recalls have not be addressed despite one of them being over a year old at this time. The V46 High Pressure Fuel Pump issue is particularly worrying as not only does this pump failure result in a dangerous situation on the road but can also cause tens of thousands of dollars in engine damage as a result. The recall was issued more than one year ago and no remedy yet exists. This is not acceptable timeline. FCA & Stellantis need to either find a remedy of purchase these vehicles back at a fair price immediately as many of us are afraid to drive them with our families.
Codes P06DD, P0456, P0306. mechanic said new motor is needed as there is a bad lifter, losing oil pressure and other issues. i have 133000 miles on my car. after further research, many other people with the Pentastar V6 engine have the same issues. a lawsuit was filed previously.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the contact heard a ticking sound coming from the engine compartment. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the lifters needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 52,000.
The contact owned a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced a loss of power steering assist. Additionally, while the transmission was shifted into neutral (N), the vehicle stalled, causing the contact to crash into a tree. The contact sustained injuries, and medical attention was received. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The vehicle was deemed totaled by the insurance company. Additionally, the contact stated that when he turned off the AC, the vehicle would shut off. The contact stated that while the transmission was shifted into drive (D) it inadvertently shifted into neutral (N). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.
My cam failed after lifter got stuck at 65k miles, dealership repairs went bad after the first repair attempt they covered. I drove the jeep 19 miles after I bought it.. Then the low oil pressure light came on as the engine locked up. Was at dealer 6 weeks but it was not repaired correctly before i picked it up. On the way home from dealer oil pressure light came on half a sec before the engine seized up. I had to walk 5 miles and get a row truck from my work. 14 days to repair it after I purchased a new mopar long block. Dealer installed in 2 days. Cam lobs where gone and oil was almost magnetic due to camshaft lifter contact. I live in Michigan and i was half tempted to drive to fca in auburn hills just to show them 4 identical camshaft lifter failures...
The oil cooler is made from an inferior material resulting in warpage and leakage. That leakage happens prematurely and poses a fire risk from oil leaking from the top side of the engine onto the components below, including but not limited to the exhaust manifold. The component is currently being replaced by the dealer due to catastrophic failure, resulting in oil and coolant mixing. I have found multiple forums that discuss this topic and have not been as lucky as I to have found it early. There were no warnings, no discernable puddle of oil under the vehicle, just an oil trail down the rear of the engine that is not immediately discoverable. The dealer knew to look for this as it is a common failure that could have larger consequences and Jeep should be held responsible for the inferior material selection that warps due to the higher temperatures an...

the vehicle is beginning to choke when accelerating - loss of power is noticed. the engine light is on. This recall was issued in June of 2022. here we are almost a year later, and there are still no parts for repair?? Why?
Gear switching to Neutral while driving, stops abruptly, steering locks up, and the vehicle shuts down completely. In order to restart, the battery requires a jump. The battery is fairly new and shows good voltage. 05/29/2023 (UPDATE) The issue was corrected with the installation of a new battery. Although the battery (2.5 years old) was indicating good voltage levels during testing, it would dip below 9v while driving. As explained by the Jeep dealer mechanic, this was causing the vehicle to immediately shut down, lock steering, and abruptly halt. I believe it’s still a safety issue. If I had been on the freeway, it would have likely created a serious danger to anyone unable to stop, or maneuver, in time.
I have to keep replacing my engine oil housing filter. I do believe I was sold a faulty engine from Carvana after I was told it was inspected thoroughly. The car isn't even at 70,000 and I've had more repairs on it than I could imagine. The engine light keeps coming on and if I have to replace the entire engine that will be up to 10,000.
Safety recall does not have parts available to fix. Vehicle may stop running unexpectedly. My car stopped running in December and has fragments of the engine. I’m not sure if it is related to this recall or not. My car’s engine is being replaced right now by the dealer, under warranty, but I cannot trade it in for what it is worth because of this outstanding safety recall.
The engine had smoke coming from under the hood, the technician said the PVC hose was disconnected. I had just picked my jeep up after a year of being at the dealership consecutively and got carbon monoxide poisoning, had to go to my doctor and the emergency room. https://www.jeepgarage.org/threads/2014-wk2-ecodiesel-occasional-smoke-from-under-or-engine-compartment.232597/
My jeep has been at the dealership for a year prior to this. On February 21,2023 I gave them a list of a weird smell in my cabin, broken, and missing parts. I was sent an email on the ‘March 14, 2023 saying my jeep was fixed and ready I went in on March 17, 2023 to pick up my jeep, from what I could see the broken pieces were repaired. I got in proceeded to drive, after I went maybe 16 miles one way, I had to turn around, there was a weird smell in my cabin. My eyes, and nose started running and my head was feeling weird. I already have COPD. I found the service manager, he went out and got a technician, the tech stuck his head into the jeep and said it was antifreeze. I told him I don’t know what it is, but I...
My car shifted to neutral and while I was driving
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after he disconnected and reconnected the battery cable, the vehicle was able to be restarted, and operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The mechanic found no failure with the vehicle. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 114,000.
Car wont start when button pushed and everything in the jeep has been fixed and it still wont work Leaks oil non stop. Work needing to be done: New transmission to stop leak New Fuel Injection pump to start car (has not) New Shifter New Battery New Dashboard as the screen would flicker Car barely has 100k miles on it. Makes no sense
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the water in fuel system message was displayed. The contact stated that the fuel gauge displayed conflicting fuel levels. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who cleaned the fuel tank. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 146,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
In 2022 our 2014 grand jeep cherokee Pentastar oil filter housing cracked leaking oil and mixing with the coolant. While driving both levels became dangerously low and there was a burning smell. It is now 2023 and our 2015 jeep wrangler just had the exact same issue with the Pentastar oil filter housing crack and oil leaking to dangerous levels. This is a known issue with Jeep, why are there no safety recalls ??
Have an oil leak in the in the oil filter housing. it bolts to the engine block and is a vital part to the security of the engine. its a possibility that the engine could catch fire. the component has been checked by a authorized jeep dealer and this is the cause of the oil leak. my extended warranty will not pay for the repair of this part. the dealer insisted i buy the extended warranty only to not have said repair covered.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle, he noticed transmission fluid leaking underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the oil coolant to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.
While driving vehicle it doesn't matter if it is highway speeds or street speeds , transmission shifts into neutral and makes car stall. Almost got into at least 4 accidents because of the issue , glad drivers behind me were paying attention and quickly avoid the accident. I have to wait at least ten minutes before car will start again, during those ten minutes car will try to start but without luck. No check engine light , been to at least 5 different shops and no one can say what is wrong because check engine light is not on. And issue happens randomly and technicians Haven't been able to replicate issue. It is a safety hazard. I know jeep Cherokee have a recall for something similar. But it doesn't apply to mine since mine is a Grand Cherokee. Model before mine 2011 to 2013 have a recall for a similar...
*NHTSA Please Help* I purchased my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee brand new in June 2014 from a FCA authorized dealership. I have meticulously maintained, gently driven, and greatly cared for this Jeep since day one. Have only ever had the Jeep serviced at the FCA authorized dealership where I purchased. I have followed and complied with all Jeep manufacturer service recommendations since day one. At 115,000 miles, I am currently experiencing a loud ticking noise resulting from failed rocker arms and failed lifters. These failed rocker arms and lifters will result in complete and catastrophic engine failure. I am also experiencing significant engine oil leaking coming from a failed oil cooler. The Mopar oil cooler in this 3.6 Pentastar engine is made of plastic, and is highly susceptible to failure. I have talked to multiple ASE Certified Mechanics that both issues I am currently experiencing are extremely common amongst these...
My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee started to leak oil slowly. We started to smell a burning scent when accelerating. This problem has slowly happened for a while before an oil light showed up on the dash. We took it to the mechanic & had an diagnostic test done. It was confirmed that our oil filter housing was leaking. This issue could have destroyed our engine. While pricing this repair, we've contacted several mechanics and all have stated that this oil filter housing is a major issue for Mopar (Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Fiat). The parts are sold out of Auto Zone, NAPA, Advanced Auto Parts and can only be purchased on the Mopar site or Amazon. The issue with the part is that it's plastic which dries, cracks & can be easily warped. Dorman has made an aluminum replacement which is hard to come by due to the amount of people...
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at highway speeds, the emissions filter warning message appeared on the instrument panel. The contact then stated that the error message disappeared while he was driving; however, a message reading "Incorrect Diesel Exhaust Fluid quality detected. No engine starts in 200 miles" appeared on the instrument panel. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was instructed to bring the in vehicle for an inspection. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.
