The odometer cluster light is too dim and I can't see it during the daytime
The ABS wont go off it constantly stays on I put a brand new battery in it went out about a week later had to jump start it...When it rains or snow it is like my wipers and headlights goes crazy and sometimes my backup camera is all blue for no reason...I feel like there is something major wrong in the wiring somewhere
I BOUGHT MY JEEP COMPASS LATITUDE 2022 BRAND NEW FOR A DEALERSHIP IN NOVEMBER OF 2021. SINCE THEN MY RANDOM DASHBOARD LIGHTS HAVE COME ON AND OFF, THE CALL HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES ALL RELATING SUPPOSELY TO THE BATTERIES GOING BAD. I HAD BOTH BATTERIES CHANGED LESS THAN 2 YEARS. I FEEL THERE IS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED
On 8/26/25 I got the 88A recall fixed on this jeep at Duluth dodge in Duluth mn .. I left dealership and my ac stopped working brought it back they fixed and it and got it working now on 8/30/25 I’m at a stop light and my jeep stalls, it went to go start for me to drive and it died. The emergency brake came on and I couldn’t get it off the state trooper actually helped me get it off. Had to get my vehicle towed to my house. All lights come on but it says “blind spot alert temporarily unavailable “ check engine light is on and my jeep will not start. I was stranded on a busy road at a stop light with my child in the car . I know this is due to the recall cause my jeep ran just fine and did not have...
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, and the Auto Stop system activated and the vehicle unintendedly stopped. The contact stated that the transmission failed to respond as needed and the vehicle had to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on several occasions where it was diagnosed and determined that the alternator was damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred immediately. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer, and it was determined that the vehicle needed to be driven for several miles to correct the failure. The failure reoccurred and the vehicle was taken to the same dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the main battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the...
My family's n is safety was at risk daily ,do to fear of the electric system being off ,changing speed and directtion of car falsely. 2Continuly lights sources in panels on at night , unable to turn off . navigation pulling vehicle off lane ,to opposite side of road in rain sleet heavy snow . Stays stuck on after air bags diddnt deploy in accident, caused by nav control and engine lag ? Jeep after I had it in MacDonald motors bridgeton Maine, the seller . 2x in first months . We owned it . I was told when I drove in 1 day early dec .2024 and called another 3 times day around 1st WK of .told availability .threw Xmas . When I tried getting it in there in December, with my complaints of same issues,no appointment was able to be given . Until mid january no temporary vehicle offered...
The vehicles emergency brake engages itself while the vehicle is in drive. I’ve reported this to my dealership, they say they’ve never heard of this issue. I’ve reported the issue twice. This is an obvious safety issue because the vehicle is randomly braking and coming to a complete stop while it is in drive. The brake signal comes on and there is no way to regain control of the vehicle unless you put the car in park and turn it off and on again. The emergency brake button also does not work during this time. This often happens when driving after a stop light. The vehicle begins to move and suddenly the brake engages itself, and the car stops this has almost gotten me rear ended on several occasions. I’m forced to throw on my hazards and rush to regain control of the vehicle . All the while holding up...
I wasn’t having any issues with the backup camera not working that was the last recall on my Jeep Compass. The software fix to the radio, however, has made it so the radio mutes now when the Jeep is put in reverse. When this happens, I become so focused on the radio not playing that I am backing up without paying attention to the camera screen or what is behind me. I spent 25 years driving without a back camera and no accidents. I have spent 35 years driving with a radio when backing up and no accidents. I have been driving less than a year with the radio muting when the Jeep is put in reverse and I am seriously concerned that it is going to cause me to have a wreck. Please have Chrysler figure out a way to still allow the back camera to work without muting...
When driving I reversing my review camera appears to be lagging as well as sometimes it will start buzzing/ making a long beeping noise then the center screen will go dark and reset. This has occurred many times while reversing . I noticed that sometimes I get the sound while driving forward and then the center screen restarts
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while idle at a stop light the auto start/stop feature activated however when attempting to accelerate, the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle then went into lockdown mode where all systems were deactivated. The police were contacted and assisted in merging the vehicle to the side of the road. The vehicle was placed in the park while they waited for the tow truck to arrive. When the tow truck arrived the vehicle was not able to be placed back into neutral to move onto the flatbed. The tow truck was able to tow the vehicle onto the flatbed despite the rear wheels being locked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but had not been diagnosed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 31,100.
The only way to adjust the advanced driver assistance systems (ADSA) in my 2022 compass is VIA a defective radio that continually resets as per Mopar Case number [XXX] from August 2023. according to the bulletin this was supposed to have been fixed via a software update in the 4th quarter of 2023. repeated calls to the mopar wave 800-334-9200 only to be disconnected as soon as i give them the case number 4 times today. I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with my 2022 Jeep Compass. I purchased my Jeep Feb 2023. In May 2024 my issues started and have not stopped or been able to be diagnosed by 2 different dealers after 4 times of them having my car. My check engine light started and then the non stop issues with the center screen and dashboard flashing on and off. The screens change showing all errors and warnings.c The radio shuts off whenever it wants. Now the car shuts off when it wants. First time I was at a stop sign, it turned off and would not go back on for almost 2 minutes. The 2nd time I was yielding and it shut down. I had to put the car in park and hit the ignition button a few times before it started. On 1 visit I was told that the...
I purchased a 2022 jeep Compass in April of 2024. In the past few weeks the jeep has had a reoccurring issue. Issue is when at a stop, message appears saying "Coolant Temperature to High", the Jeep will beep flash that message, coolant temp gauge will jump to the top then down to the bottom and the vehicle will shut its self off, and check engine light will be solid but the "coolant" message will go away. Along with this, the auto start/stop feature (when at a stop vehicle shuts its self off and electronics run of aux battery, then when brake peddle is released vehicle starts up and power is back on the main battery) has not been functioning, I assume this happened around the time off the first coolant message a few weeks back. While drive I h
I am not sure what is going on but my compass will stall out while at a complete stop and put the car into the parking brake… thus causing user have to turn off the car in the middle of traffic and restart to drive again. This has happened four times & has been in the shop 3 times and jeeps refuses to pay for it, or replace it although it is still in warranty
I was stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, my car completely froze and stalled. Everything on my car locked up. I was not able to turn my car off. My gear shift was locked and the gear letters were flashing. After about 1 minute my car starting moving. Scariest experience ever. I have a dash cam video but can not upload the video here.
Few month ago, I received a paper from the manufacturer saying that the car was on recall. I brought the car to the car dealer and they said that there was a problem with the battery. They changed the battery for a new one. Later on, I received a letter from the Jeep saying that they used my factory limit warranty to replace the battery. And saying that next time if I see a form like this it could be a real bill. Around 2 months and a half after, The light of the battery starts flashing and a message appeared on the dashboard saying that I had to park the car immediately because it could stop at anytime automatically. I had to pull over and call a tow truck. We dropped the car to the car dealer. It was on a Sunday. Then, I had my car ready to...
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that when the USB port was in use, the digital screen would shut off and no longer display the safety features. The contact stated that the digital screen was used for safety and the features were no longer accessible. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where a software update was performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer where the digital screen was replaced; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer Dayton Andrews Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (2301 34th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33713) where it was diagnosed but no resolution was found. The contact was advised by the second local dealer that whenever the remedy was available a notification would be provided. The manufacturer was made aware...
The vehicle has an automatic start stop function that randomly turns off the vehicle when at a stop sign and puts the brake on. This has happen 3 times since leasing this car last year. I took the car into the dealership after the second occurrence to get it checked out but they could not duplicate the problem. The first occurrence was around 6 months after getting the car.
Vehicle shut off at stop light , parking break engaged and disengaged , Drive shift was flashing , dash was flashing. I shut the vehicle off twice because it happened twice in the same moment until the third time it allowed me to drive.
I’ve experienced my jeep compass when auto start is turned off and the car is at a red light and shuts off as soon as I let go of pedal the car seems to have trouble “turning on” it shakes and the lights flash. I have to just put ny car in park at the light and turn my engine off and on to get my car to work.
Car started beeping and information center was flashing and drive indicator was flashing . At another time car shifted in reverse and would not move. Humming sound coming from front right wheel at 40mph and would not go away until until 60mph. Was told it was the all wheel drive system.
Occurs at stop sign/light when idling. The car will shut off and will not turn back on although all features in the car are running. The screen will display ‘engine running’ but the vehicle will not drive. I will push the stop/start button and nothing happens. It will take a few minutes for the vehicle to come back on again. This has happened numerous times at random. I have taken my vehicle to two separate dealerships and neither have been able to figure out how to repair the issue. I do not feel safe as this is a high risk for accident and I have two children who are in the vehicle.

i brought in my car for service and clearly nothing was fixed. i have been having issues with this car for YEARS now and nothing is being repaired at the dealership. I will enclosed back up that i went there and they apparently fixed it but car is still having issues. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that the vehicle was designed with the Auto Stop/Start feature. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, the feature engaged and the engine was turned off; however, the engine failed to restart while attempting to drive from the complete stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the body control module (BCM) was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who informed the contact that the vehicle was operating as designed. The contact later received a call from the manufacturer advising him to take the vehicle back to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with by the Remote Assistance of Jeep engineers, and it was determined that the batteries had low-capacities. The dealer replaced the batteries. The vehicle was repaired....
On [XXX] I left the Safeway Gas station on [XXX] I came out the parking lot and made a right and stopped at the light. As soon as I stopped, my car cut off. I put my car and park and push the ignition. I press the ignition again to cut it on everything came on but the car would not start. I sat there for two hours before getting a tow at the stop light that changed colors several different times with my anxiety high because cars were honking, people were yelling at me because I was blocking traffic. I could not put my car into a different gear to even push it off to the side of the road. My car was towed to Sacramento Dodge Chrysler Jeep. Later that day, The representative called and told me that they don’t know what is wrong with the car, he’s...
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving various speeds, the instrument cluster lights were extremely bright, causing a visual impairment while driving. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic test, and it was determined that the IPC display needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired by the dealer; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and suggested that the contact receive another diagnostic test from the dealer. The failure mileage was unknown.
Every week of every month since purchasing this car, the electrical system more specifically the Forward Crash Warning system which controls steering and brakes has failed. The system is continually turning off and it has been for repairs where they have replaced the sensors and cameras. No resolution has been made and it’s been now sitting at the dealership since September 1. I’m making payments on a car that can’t be driven. Furthermore every loaner Compass I’ve been given has had the exact same problem no sooner than driving off the lot. The bright light upon system failure is a distraction and the system not working right is a danger to life, limb and property.
JEEP SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING WHEN FOOT IS REMOVED FROM PETAL HAS TO COME TO COMPLETE STOP BEFORE IT CAN BE RESTARTED
Having trouble with instrument and info screen lighting. Car vin number not covered in first recall. I see today they issued another recall and again my car is not covered in the recall. We have a major problem with Jeep
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the instrument panel light was not visible. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the vehicle was experiencing the failure listed in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V058000 (Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was 14,000.
I purchased my 2022 Jeep Compass on March 26, 2022 and at the time it was functioning correctly, but about 7 months in to owning my vehicle the infotainment screen and gauge clusters (center clusters) went so dim that I could not see those screen anymore during the daylight. I called my dealership to report the issue, but at the time they did not know anything about it, so I had to deal with it till I did my own research and figured out that there was a recall going on. I called back took it in and they documented it, and communicated that currently no fix is released. A few months pass and my life and other in the vehicle are at risk each time I drive my car as I am unable to read the screen or properly use my infotainment center for directions and such. My safety...
Instrumentation not bright enough during daylight. Per NHTSA campaign ID number 23v058000. Mine was not included in the recall. They say they can’t repair Jeep engineering working on it. How did they fix the recall cars?
The car is supposed to turn off and on when making stops because of the eco mode. There are times where the car will turn off at the red lights and will not turn back on automatically. Other times the car will just completely shut off when coming to a stop . The engine is killed. A complete restart to the car has to happen in order to make it work again. This issue is not identified through the Jeep dealership. They asked to record it next time it happens because their computer isn’t reading any issues to the by
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, she became aware that during the daytime the instrument panel was extremely difficult to see, severely compromising the visibility of important vehicle information. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the vehicle required a software update that was not yet available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that the instrument panel and display screen was very dim, reducing driver visibility. The contact stated that there was condensation built up around the windows during rainy weather, causing an abnormal odor inside the vehicle. The contact stated that the condensation reduced the visibility while driving. The contact called the dealer and scheduled an appointment. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
Middle cluster of dashboard is extremely dim and unresponsive to attempts in settings to alter/fix it. We have 2 additional 2022 Compass models in our family, and all three have this issue. We are submitting separate reports for each VIN.
Dash lights, hazard button, radio stuck in night mode. Fuel gauge, speedometer, engine temperature and check engine/ tire pressure gauge are not visible in daylight. Creates a hazard when unable to see viable information like a flat tire, engine overheating, or low on gas. Tried to get it fixed but was told jeep currently has not issued a solution to fix it.
The cluster display on my vehicle is dim too non visible in full sunlight , daylight operating conditions . Automatic display functions turned off and manual brightness adjusted full, yet the dim to non existent backlight does not change. I been told this is a problem and FCA engineers are looking at, but at what priority. It seems that more and more of these complaints are showing up. There needs to be a recall to fix.
Screens in vehicle have dimmed and are unable to brighten. It’s impossible to see while driving during the day. I have run out of gas on the highway, and almost caused an accident. My vehicle also automatically breaks and sounds an alarm as if I have had a collision, and almost caused another accident from being rear ended. Thankfully, one of the issues has been resolved and the dealership is fixing it (although my VIN number was not included in the recall at this time). I’ve developed a fear of driving on the highway now so be cautious of purchasing until all these issues have been resolved.
Backlighting in dash cluster not working and makes it very difficult to see my fuel gauge, and temperature gauge, cruise control, and other items shown in gauge cluster.
Upon start up of my vehicle I noticed my center display for speed, etc had turned itself to Spanish, but my radio was still in English. My forward collision warning, Lane keep assist, auto emergency braking, and front collision avoidance had all turned themselves off, and my auto park brake had turned itself on. After contacting a dealer they stated they had several complaints and to just turn them back on/off. Having these safety features turn themselves off can provide a fall sense of safety and cause accidents.
While driving down the radio, my infotainment system began flashing on and off, failing to properly load. This can cause a distraction in the vehicle, leading to an accident. The dealer stated could not duplicate.
The display, where the speed and other pertinent information is displayed, is in dark or night mode. It is very if not impossible to see during daylight hours. It is very distracting not to be able to see the information that you should be able to this vehicle.
My cluster display has been on dark night mode since January 2023. I purchased the vehicle in April 2022. During the day, I cannot see the cluster display, and have missed gas warning lights, low tire lights, and other emergency lights due to the dimness of the screen. It is a hazard to drive as daylight is longer-- and the navigation screen is also impossible to see during daylight hours. There is no way to brighten either the cluster display or navigation system. The dealership confirmed the issue and instructed me to sit back and wait for an update in January, and there have been no updates yet.
Instrument cluster is stuck in day time mode. There is no way to dim it at night which makes it hard to drive and see during night travel.
During the day the the instrument cluster that has a speedometer doesn't have any brightness so I cannot see the speed or warning lights. I took my car to the dealership and they said there is no solution to that problem right now and multiple vehicles have the same issue since September last year.
For over six months, I have been unable to see my dashboard during the day. It is stuck on night mode. This causes the driver to be unable to see fuel gauage along with other warning lights that may be displayed. This is extremely dangerous and could cause unexpected vehicle stops on roadways. I have mentioned this to the dealership each time I am there and I'm told they don't know how to fix it.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the instrument panel lights were dimmed. The contact stated that the instrument panel lights returned to the brighter mode. The contact stated that during the daylight hours, the lights were extremely dim. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V058000 (Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
My dash lights will dim automatically during day and can’t dim dash lights at night very frustrating
