Transmission jerks had in the shop three times for the same problem it feels like it's going to throw you through the windshield. It's been in the shop since October 23rd 2025 for several problems and the guy told me it was using oil.
Since 20,000 miles I have had problems with my steering column. I first took it in back in August of 2023 due to a clunking noise coming from my steering wheel. When I first took it in my suspension was tightened but this did not resolve the issue. When I took it back in a week later I was told I needed to replace my rack and pinion. The rack and pinion was replaced but my car still had the faint clunking sound. The clunking came back a year later. At 30,000 miles I was told both of my front axles had failed and both were replaced. The clunking sound still remained but faint. Seven months later the clunking returned once again and much more aggressively (I was out of warranty at this point). I was told one of my axles failed once again prematurely and was replaced after sitting...
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, and the Auto Stop system activated and the vehicle unintendedly stopped. The contact stated that the transmission failed to respond as needed and the vehicle had to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on several occasions where it was diagnosed and determined that the alternator was damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred immediately. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer, and it was determined that the vehicle needed to be driven for several miles to correct the failure. The failure reoccurred and the vehicle was taken to the same dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the main battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the...
Major down shifting hesitation when slowing down and then trying to accelerate. Very noticeable and dangerous when slowing down and turning. The hesitation is also noticeable when starting to go up an incline and trying to accelerate. In cruise control there is a delay when going up an incline the set speed will go down 3 MPH before shifting hard. Transmission also when shifting from forward to reverse or reverse to forward will engage then pop out of gear for a few seconds then engage again. During normal operation there is no popping out of gear. The dealer has applied three software updates with no improvement to the shifting problems.
I was stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, my car completely froze and stalled. Everything on my car locked up. I was not able to turn my car off. My gear shift was locked and the gear letters were flashing. After about 1 minute my car starting moving. Scariest experience ever. I have a dash cam video but can not upload the video here.
While driving the vehicle on a town street, the front wheel/CV joint/axel component failed. As part of this failure, the CV joint/wheel completely separated from the axel making the car impossible to steer. This failure was unbelievable for a relatively new, low milage vehicle. (In another context--on the highway or in busy traffic, a major or fatal accident could have occurred.) Luckily the car was traveling at a rather slow speed on a road where no other cars were present at that particular time. This incident occurred on Saturday, Aug. 10. The car was towed to the dealer State Line Jeep (Somerset, MA) on Monday, Aug. 13. The car is still at the dealership and it is curious that they claim they have not been able to find certain parts or get rims (which were damaged at the car slowed against the curb). This is a major and very dangerous...
Good evening, My name is [XXX] , I live in Boca Raton, FL, USA, and own a new car: Jeep 2022 Compass Lattitude VIN [XXX] . I report a serious safety hazard that can cause a crash injury or death that needs to be investigated and corrected. On Thursday, November 9 2023 I picked up my car from Arrigo Chrysler Jeep Autodealer located at 2250 FL-7, Margate, FL 33063 where my car was present for 13 (thirteen) days for the following service: a replacement of lost/stolen car keys. On the way from the Autodealer, my car started to push forward and back on the road when I pressed the acceleration pedal. The following signs immediately switched on: "Service Transmission", "Stop/Start System", "Tire pressure". I was able to immediately drive back to the Arrigo Chrysler Jeep Auto dealer. When I was returning an unsafe car, they reported to me: "an issue...
My vehicle is not smoothly moving from one gear to another. Upon slowing the vehicle to prepare for a stop and then before completing the stop, I speed up because I am able to go (ex. light was red and turns green) the vehicle "jumps". The "jump" is like when a manual transmission vehicle is about to stall. My vehicle does not stall, but the jumping jostles the entire car. It is very noticeable, it feels like being rear-ended. The dealership has informed me that they are aware of this issue and that it is due to the 8 speed gears being close together, as well as due to the computer system preparing to stop and not understanding a full stop doesn't happen so when I hit the gas it causes it to be confused and it makes a last minute decision to switch gears which results in the jumping....
When I am stopped at a red light, once the light turns green I go to accelerate and the vehicle stalls. The car is still on but the engine completely shuts off. The only way for the vehicle to move again is by turning the car off and then on again. It is extremely dangerous and I have almost been rear ended because of it. Another issue I am having is when I go to accelerate the car jolts and has a grip to it. It feels like something is pulling the car back and I have to push extra hard on the gas to move the car. This happens a lot when merging on the high way or accelerating on side streets.
Vehciel frequently jurks will driving in low speed ; this issue is sinec I bought the car new. Front collision 💥 light comes off automatically and I have to reset it manually. Also the AEB light came off for no reason.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 15 MPH making a left turn, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with the drive(D) light flashing. The driver shifted the vehicle into park(P) and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to another local dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500.
I have been experiencing intermittent Hard shifting and lurching forward while my vehicle shifts.upshifting and downshifting are both a problem while vehicle is cold and also when warmed up. Other times it feels like it goes into neutral right before shifting and then all of a sudden slams into gear. These problems began since I bought the vehicle brand new on March 14, 2023. I have been to the dealer where I bought the vehicle for this issue a total of 7 times, where a case was presented to chrysler. Chrysler asked the dealership to do various tests to check for a problem, in which they were not able to resolve. Each test that was done required me to keep coming back to the dealer which totaled 7 times, 3 in which required a rental car (2 visits were repair attempts and 5 visits were various tests being done on...
On highway going 60 and vehicle powers down. I pulled over and turned it off and started it after 3 mins and proceeded and once I got to 40mph it powered down again. I pulled over and it’s been at the dealer since and they cannot get it to duplicate
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that the dealer previously replaced the PCU and axillary battery, and reprogrammed the TCM; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked and then lost motive power with the Auto Start/Stop warning light illuminated and the "Stop Safely, Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" message displayed. Additionally, the parking brake inadvertently engaged while the vehicle lost motive power. The failure occurred on four separate occasions, once causing a minor rear-end collision with cosmetic damage to the contact's rear bumper. No air bags were deployed. The contact did not sustain any injuries, and medical attention was not received. No police report was filed. The contact was able to drive the vehicle away from the collision site. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure....
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The START/STOP system message was displayed. The computer screen went blank. The drive button on the instrument cluster and gear selector were blinking. The parking brake engaged without warning. While driving the vehicle at slow speeds, the vehicle jerked forward and failed to respond as needed. The contact waited for the vehicle to restart. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 19,900.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the contact felt the steering wheel going to the left. While shifting gear, the vehicle was experiencing hard shifting. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The mechanic performed an alignment on the vehicle however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.
On Feb 8th, 2022 the four wheel drive quit working giving message to service 4wd. The front tires turned and the back tired did not turn and the car did not move forward or backwards. If this would have happened in an area that was remote and no people around I would have not been able to get help. This is a safety issue as car was inoperable and could have stranded me in a remote location. Leased this vehicle on Dec 29, 2021 and issues started Jan 5th, the screen would not work was unable to control heat, radio, navigation, hands free, cruise control etc. Was in Tennessee where it was warm and no heat needed, headed back to MN to negative 30 degrees and no heat, could have froze if car would have stopped. With no heat in MN at negative 30 degrees it is unsafe to drive...
