Excessive oil consumption lead to multiple incidents of stalling while driving. Vehicle had trouble restarting in middle of the road. Almost got hit several times by other motorists. Checked oil level and there was approximately 1 liter of oil left, added 4 liters and problem went away. Only 2k miles since previous change when checking oil.
Dealer had to replace motor cause of oil usage and motor tapping. And know its worse. They even done something to my steering or something plus runs like crud
The automatic start stop function constantly goes out, TCM unable to send signal to transmission to shift. Caused the car to stall in an intersection and self applied the emergency brake at around 5mph causing the vehicle to jerk to a halt. Car inexplicably throws service engine code and then transmission downshifts to 30mph from higher speeds nearly causing wreck.
Engine burns through 1 qt of oil every 1000 miles
Car stalled at stop light. Threw on emergency brake, flashes ESC system fail. Auto stop/start flashes unable to work. Car wouldn’t move. Put in park tried to turn off wouldn’t shut down. Had to put on flashers as I couldn’t move. Finally after three tries putting it into park it shut down and was able to restart. This has happened 4 times now and doesn’t matter if I’m motion or stopped. It will shut down while driving down regular roads.
2/12/2022 while exiting Ohio Turnpike STRT 280 exit, while at toll booth driver’s window down, vehicle in drive foot on brake, paying toll, no engine warning lights, vehicle dies! Pleanty of fuel, pleanty of battery power vehicle would not start, it now seamed that every trouble light was flashing! Two tows and $900.00 later vehicle is as my dealers! If it died a mile earlier, while driving 70 mph, I would not be completing this form! Window down, in 20 degree temperature weather, my wife and I are SR Citizens!
I took the Jeep in for radiator warranty work because it was leaking really really bad, and causing the heat to blow out ice cold. The dealership I got the Jeep from replaced the radiator and the very next day the jeep was still blowing out cold air instead of heat, and this time the jeep was sputtering and shaking and it cut off on me and my daughter at a stop light. I had to wait 15 minutes in traffic for it to start back up. I immediately called the dealership and had the Jeep there the following morning only for them to tell me they tested the vehicle and didn’t get anything to happen. I’m sick and tired of that dealership lying, and this jeep is not safe. And now the vehicle showed a error message on the screen saying coolant temperature to high, shutting vehicle down. It...
Turned vehicle on. Going down the road about a mile from home vehicle turned off while in motion. Manage to turn car on after a minute and move to a safe area. After inspection, car had thought half an inch of oil. Car is inspected with regular oil changes. No prior signs that vehicle has loss oil.
Was pulling into traffic and my car had a low oil pressure light come on and the car shut off almost got hit 3 days later the wiring system when crazy wouldn't let me shut the car off causing my car to over heat
My remote starter always has a problem. I turn it on it turns off. I have had the smart battery changed. There is always a notification stating pull over car will shut down soon. Then that activates the engine light to come on. Then the remote starter is deactivated. I turn off the car everything disappears like nothing happened a few minutes later I get the same notification pull over safely car will shut off soon.
Engine sputtering, stalling, then shutting down during intersection turns while trying to move from a stationary position, etc. This started happening only recently during colder temperatures here in Michigan, December 2021, and has only happened at the second intersection on a declined roadway, and only if the vehicle engine has not been "warmed up". This issues has now occurred 4 times at the same declining intersection. My daughter drives this vehicle and transports herself and my 3 grandchildren!
On 3 separate occasions since we purchased the vehicle, the Start/Stop function, where it shuts down at a light or Stop sign, has failed to restart the vehicle upon pressing the gas pedal. We have had to have the vehicle towed for service each time, and they are now replacing the starter again after having replaced it and the fuse link, as well as battery issues related to the start/stop function. Each time, this has happened in intersection (stop light). We have almost been rear ended or hit because the vehicle is now impeding the flow of traffic and has to be put into neutral and pushed off the road, then towed, as it will not start back up without repair. We have always taken it to an official MOPAR/CDRJ service center for repair. It has less than 16,000 miles on it. There was no warning or indication this was...
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that he had to top off the oil level every 500 to 600 miles. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of oil. Additionally, the powertrain and electronic throttle control messages were displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact of an oil leak. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 43,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while her granddaughter was driving 55 MPH, the vehicle began to overheat and then seized. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The driver was able to park on the side of the road. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the engine to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but experience the same failure at the dealer. The dealer informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced for a second time. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V670000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
When using the auto start/stop feature, the vehicle will stall at a stop once I attempt to move from a stop. It happens any time I use this feature, and I have to be sure to turn it off before driving. The most recent incident happened at a stop light, and morning traffic was behind me, causing a back up and potential wreck. We have replaced both batteries and it has not remedied the situation and at this point I am not feeling safe to drive my own vehicle.
The car stops in the middle of traffic and doesn’t restart for about 5 mins causing traffic stops. People have to go around me because the emergency brake won’t disengage. The car won’t start when it’s supposed to I called to get it repaired and they gave an appointment 2 months later. The car is just sitting.
While driving down the road going 55mph, my car suddenly stalled with the "Service Transmission" and "Service Engine" lights and messages appearing. The car would not accelerate. Once safely stopped on the side of the road, the car shifted heavily in park. In order for my car to safely drive, we had to sit with the car off for several minutes. Once cranked again, the service transmission light went off and it would shift into gear without any grinding noise but the Service engine light stayed on. This is the SAME ISSUE REPORTED AND RECALLED with the PCM Voltage Regulator Chip. It has done this FIVE TIMES while driving down the road, and countless others while idling in park. This is a safety hazard. Though the VIN dictates it is not part of the recall, my car clearly is.
My car stalls and then stops at red lights or when stopping for a bit of time. When I accelerate it seems to hesitate and then stop. The brake engages and the engine stops. I cannot go at all. All of my dashboard lights, the radio, and anything else that was on at the time, like the A/C, still runs. I have to turn everything off. Wait about a minute and disengage the brake. I can press the ignition button and the car starts back. If I had to describe it, the car dies as soon as I accelerate after stopping at red lights or at stop signs. At first, I thought it was because I was stepping on the gas too soon after stopping but that is not the case. This is becoming an issue and it is extremely frightening and annoying
My jeeps auto start stop has had issues since the day I got it. Ive taken it back to jeep servicing multiple times and all they do is resent the card computer. The car still moves while in park, the car shuts off while driving on the highway (55mph) it slows down, shuts off and does start for a few mins. The entire right passenger side wheel broke off the car. The car jumps forward which cause a accident back in 2018-2019 a few months right after getting the car. The car jump forward while making a turn going 10mph.
Since purchasing my vehicle the fuel saver feature has caused my car to stall at stop signs or red lights. I have taken it in many times for service for them to put a temporary update on the computer and say im good to go. Yet again this past weekend we go to stop at a red light, the fuel saver kicks on, and all of sudden the car stalls, warning messages start popping up stating engine service, transmission service, auto start/stop disabled, and the car starts rolling backwards as we were on a hill. Luckily we put our hazards on and turned the car off and back on and was then able to accelerate forward but the warning signs continue to show. To say this vehicle is going to kill someone is an understatement yet there are no active recalls for this vehicle. I have read countless articles on...
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V524000 (Electrical System). The contact stated that while driving 25 - 30 MPH, and making a turn, the vehicle stalled. The low engine oil message was displayed. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer performed an oil consumption test and reprogrammed the powertrain control module (PCM). However, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed that the oil level was near empty and that the engine needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the manufacturer would not cover the cost of repair since the vehicle was not under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
On September 3, 2021, my vehicle failed in the middle of the street without warning. The dash lights were on but the vehicle would not move. The engine light was also on. This happened in the turning lane in the middle of the street. There was no warning. When I pressed on the gas to go when the light changed is when I discovered that the car was inoperable. It had to be towed. My safety, as well as those driving on that road was put at risk because of how busy the street is regularly. In addition, at that intersection there are 4 lanes of traffic. In order for a diagnosis the dealership states that it needs to replace a fuse.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving 40-50 MPH, the check engine warning light, the brake warning light, and other unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle inadvertently stalled and lost motive power. The contact was unable to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that no issues were found. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The vehicle was towed to the dealer several times and the wiring harness, the battery, and the instrument cluster was replaced however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact could not confirm whether he had notified the manufacturer of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 8,682.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled. Additionally, while driving around corners the vehicle stalled. The vehicle failed to start on several occasions. The contact purchased a jump box. The shift lever in park, emergency brake, auto start, and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and diagnosed that the vehicle needed to be reset. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The contact stated the failure was like NHTSA Campaign number: 18V524000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no further assistance was provided. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer Gladstone Dodge Chrysler Jeep & Ram (5610 N Oak Traffic way, Gladstone, MO 64118) but vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 43,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that the engine failed. The contact stated that while driving in traffic at various speeds, the vehicle abruptly stalled. The failure was experienced several times. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the push to start button remained illuminated after the failure occurred. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after waiting a few minutes and regained normal vehicle functionality. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
My 17 year old son was driving vehicle and it just turned off in middle of highway. The vehicle took several attempts to crank on different occasions. We were told it was a battery so we replaced and it kept happening then found out the oil was extremely low even though we were barely over a 1000 miles since last oil change. They started oil consumption tests and said oh you are super low on 2 of the tests, come the 3rd test they are now saying it’s within spec and just check the oil a couple times before each oil change. Why would have trust my 17 year old to be able to go off to college in an unreliable car?!?!? We have been dealing with this for over and year and now they want us to restart the oil consumption test.
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that on several occasions the vehicle also stalled while driving on the highway. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated as designed however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000.
Roughly 2500 miles after my last oil change I noticed while driving at town speeds that my engine was sluggish to accelerate. After ten minutes of driving I tried to execute a left hand turn and my vehicle's engine cut off completely. I had to guide the car to the side of the road to restart it. There were NO indicator lights on or messages indicating that there was an issue. I pulled over to check the oil and it was low (barely anything on the dipstick and DARK). I immediately drove to my nearest Jeep dealership and on the way there the car shut off again during a turn. Both times were during left-hand turns into traffic and I was lucky to have had enough speed to get out of the way. When I took my vehicle to the dealership, they gave me an oil change and told me...
Car will stall out and shut off in the middle of traffic or I’ll press the brakes and the car will shut off . Also with auto shut off the car will shut off when waiting for car to turn back on to go from a stop light . When taking a sharp turn oil pressure light will flash and then car will throw emergency break on and shut off for example while going around an on ramp to hwy.
Vehicle shut down on highly traveled city street due to low oil pressure. It was found that the Jeep Compass was consumming oil at a very rapid rate (within 1500 miles of an oil change). We have monitored the oil consumption regurlerly and find that we need to add oil about every 1500 miles. There are NO oil leaks in the engine or around the vehicle, it is being consummed by the engine operation.
EXCESSIVE OIL USE - TOLD IT WAS NORMAL
COOLANT TEMPERATURE SHOOTS UP (HOT) FOR 5 -30 SECONDS THEN ENGINE STALLS. CAN'T RESTART OR STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. HAS HAPPENED STATIONERY, IN MOTION, TURNING, FREEWAY AND CITY STREETS. ALSO CAN HAS HAPPENED ALL 4 SEASONS: FALL,, SPRING, SUMMER AND WINTER. HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 2 YEARS AND NO DEALERSHIP CAN FIND OUT WHAT'S WRONG.
OIL BURNS THROUGH OIL EXCESSIVELY, 2,900 MILES AFTER OIL CHANGE, EVERY OIL CHANGE THE VEHICLE STARTS ALARMING OIL PRESSURE LOW AND WILL JUST SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. I'VE ALMOST GOT INTO MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS DUE TO THIS. IT'S DANGEROUS, NO WARNING EXCEPT THE ALARM WHICH COMES ON AS THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF
MY CAR FLASHED A WARNING TO "STOP SAFELY VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF SOON" AND CAR SHUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET! THERE IS A POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE RECALL FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL BUT MINE WASN'T INCLUDED, I GUESS. A CAR GOING DOWN THE STREET AND SUDDENLY COMING TO A COMPLETE, UNINITIATED STOP IS EXTREMELY SCARY AND DANGEROUS. I WOULD THINK IF THIS IS HAPPENING, THEN THE PCM SHOULD BE REPLACED, BUT THE DEALERSHIP ISN'T ON BOARD WITH THIS. THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO SINCE THEY CAN'T RE-CREATE THE ERROR. MY SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH HAS SHOWN THIS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2018 JEEP COMPASS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT PROPERLY ACCELERATE AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT PROPERLY CHANGE GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER KEENE JEEP LOCATED AT 410 WINCHESTER ST, KEENE, NH 03431 WHO REPLACED THE ENGINE BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED TO OCCUR. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM WOULD NOT DEACTIVATE CAUSING THE DRIVER TO CRASH INTO A TREE STUMP. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED, NO POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE ODOR OF COOLANT WAS ALSO PRESENT INSIDE THE VEHICLE CAUSING THE DRIVER TO BECOME ILL. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER CONTEMPORARY JEEP LOCATED AT 30 HAMMOND RD, MILFORD, NH 03055 AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THE START/STOP FEATURE WAS ENGAGED. WHEN MY FOOT WAS TAKEN OFF THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART LIKE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO. I PUT IT IN PARK AND TRIED TO RESTART IT AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART. THE BATTERY WAS NOT DEAD AS THE LIGHTS WERE WORKING AS WELL AS MANY WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IN THREE YEARS THAT THIS VEHICLE WILL GO TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE. THE DIAGNOSES SEEMS TO BE DIFFERENT EACH TIME, BUT ULTIMATELY I TAKE IT IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT LEFT ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF FOUR LANE HIGHWAY. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE ON THE INTERSTATE. EVENTUALLY THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE A...
VEHICLE ONLY HAD 25000 MILES AND HAD ELECTRIC ISSUES, ACCELERATION ISSUES, STOP AND GO WOULD STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING PUTTING ME AND MY CHILD IN DANGER. ONLY GOING A HIGH OF 50 ON THE FREEWAY THEN SLOWING. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES, PLUS REPLACING 2 BATTERIES A YEAR SINCE HAVING THE CAR. I HAVE SENT INFORMATION TO CORPORATE. ITEMS HAVE CLEARLY BEEN DOCUMENTED BUT NOTHING DONE TO SOLVE THE ISSUE THAT CONTINUES.
ENGINE CUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING ON ROADWAY LOSS OF OIL IS NOT SAFE ON HIGHWAY FOR FEAR ON CUTTING OF.WILL START BACK UP 10 MINUTES AFTER STALLING
CAR SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN ON ME AUTOMATICALLY WHILE PULLING ONTO HIGHWAYS AT 60MPH IT ENGAGED PARKING BRAKE AND DISPLAYED A MESSAGE ON SCREEN THAT STATED "PLACE SHIFTER INTO PARK AND RESTART". I HEADED FOR THE DEALERSHIP INSTANTLY. AFTER OIL CONSUMPTION TEST IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD BE REPLACED. ENGINE WAS REPLACE MID NOVEMBER 2020. NOT EVEN 3000 MILES ON THE NEW ENGINE IT ONCE AGIAN STALLED OUT AND ENGAGED PARKING BRAKE. OIL IS NOT LOW. "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" IS ON AND CAR BOGS DOWN WHEN ACCELERATED. CAN NOT DRIVE IN NORMAL TRAFFIC. ALMOST LIKE TRANSMISSION IS GOING. I HAVE TWO CHILDREN UNDER 2YRS OLD AN ITS OUR ONLY CAR! I EXPRESSED MY CONCERNS ABOUT THE SAFTEY OF THE JEEP AND IT DEFINITELY IS NOT 5HERE AT ALL! MY WIFE AND I DO NOT TRUST DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ONE MORE MILE.
CAR DIES WHILE DRIVING FOR NO REASON. INTERMITTENTLY. TRANSMISSION INTERMITTENTLY JERKS INTO GEAR. INSTRUMENT PANEL INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT COME ON UNTIL RESTART. KEY FOBS (MAIN FOB AND SPARE) INTERMITTENTLY DO NOT FUNCTION. (BATTERIES ARE NOT THE ISSUE)
THE VEHICLE DASHBOARD LIGHTS WILL ALL START TO FLASH, CANNOT ACCELERATE CAR, CAUSING ME TO PULL OVER AS BEST I CAN. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT THESE CARS ARE KNOWN FOR EATING UP OIL AT AN ALARMING RATE. THE PROBLEM IS TEMPORARILY FIXED BY ADDING A QUART OF ENGINE OIL. THIS OCCURS AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH AND IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING BECAUSE THERE IS NO WARNING. THERE IS NO 'LOW OIL' LIGHT THAT COMES ON. I HAVE YOUNG KIDS AND I FEEL STUCK WITH THIS LEMON. I ALSO HEAR A LOUD RATTLING COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, UNDER THE HOOD BUT CANNOT SEE ANYTHING. I HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY AND WAS TOLD THAT DUE TO SOMETHING ELECTRICAL, IT CAUSED MY BATTERY TO COMPLETELY DIE. THIS CAR IS EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE AND UNSAFE.
I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR CLOSE TO A YEAR AND I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. EACH TIME WHEN I'M CALLED TO PICK UP THE CAR AND AM TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED/REPAIRED, I DRIVE A FEW BLOCKS AND THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT COMES ON. SIMULTANEOUSLY THE STOP/START FEATURE CONKS OUT. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS DANGEROUS IN THAT I DON'T KNOW IF THERE TRULY IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE OR IS IT JUST A FAULTY LIGHT. THE START/STOP FEATURE DOESN'T ALARM ME AS MUCH, BUT IT ADDS TO THE COMPLEXITY OF THE ENGINE ISSUE.
THESE ENGINE IS USING UP ALL THE OIL EVERY 1000 MILES
TURNING RIGHT ONTO A STREET AND MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF - I HAD TO STOP COMPLETELY AND CUT IT BACK ON THEN MY LOW OIL PRESSURE LIKE CAME ON. ONCE WE GOT THE VEHICLE HOME AND CHECKED THE OIL WE REALIZED IT WAS VERY DANGEROUSLY LOW AND THIS WAS IN BETWEEN 5,000 MILE OIL CHANGES ... WE HAD TO ADD OIL TO GET IT TO THE MECHANIC SHOP JUST TO GET THE CAR LOOKED AT. THIS HAS HAPPENED AGAIN SINCE AND I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP
THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. INTERIOR ELECTRICAL STOPS WORKING FIRST. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY AND ON A TOWN SIDE STREET. THE STRUT AND SWAY BAR LINKAGE HAVE GONE BAD AND NEED TO BE REPLACED.
JEEP HAS STOPPED COLD FOR TWICE IN THE PAST WEEK WHILE IN DRIVE. TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON THE SECOND TIME. I AM AT 76,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT BE GOING OUT YET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES SHE WAS ABLE TO RESTART VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED SHE HAD EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE MULTIPLE TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED ON ONE OCCASION THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER SUBURBAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF GARDEN CITY (283 N FRANKLIN ST, HEMPSTEAD, NY 11550, (516) 336-4712) HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000.
FOR MONTHS MY JEEP HAS HAD ISSUES. ALL THE DASH LIGHTS WILL LIGHT UP WARNING ME OF ISSUES. THE JEEP HAS STOPPED DEAD WHILE DRIVING AND NO WARNING . THERE ARE TIMES I START THE JEEP AN LIGHTS COME SO I TURN IT OFF AND RESTART AND THE LIGHTS GO AWAY. OTHER TIMES I WILL BE DRIVING AND THE LIGHTS COME ON. I HAVE REPLACED BOTH BATTERIES, A PLUG UNDER THE HOOD, AND THE PCM MODULE WAS REPAIRED BY A DEALERSHIP. TODAY I WAS DRIVING AN ALL LIGHTS CAME ON, THE JEEP SHUT OFF, AND IT TOOK ALMOST 20 MINUTES BEFORE THE JEEP WOULD START. I HAD IT PUT ON A DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE TODAY AND THEY SUGGESTED TAKE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO CODES. THESE ARE THE CODES C2502, P2504, AMD P2AF5. I WAS TOLD I NO LONGER AM COVERED UNDER WARRANTY HOWEVER THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING AND ITS...
ENGINE STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT FAST SPEED
CAR NEEDED A NEW ENGINE ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO FOR BURNING OIL. DURING THIS TIME I STALLED ON A BUSY ROAD AND SOMEONE ALMOST HIT ME. LAST WEEK I WAS IN FLORIDA AND MY CAR WOULD NOT START, IT THEN STARTED SMOKING UNDERNEATH AND A SMALL FIRE WAS STARTED. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND IS CURRENTLY STILL THERE WITH AN CHRYSLER ENGINEER COMING TO INSPECT WHAT HAPPENED. I HAVE ATTACHED A COPY OF THE TEXT MESSAGE EXCHANGE WITH CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN FLORIDA TO DESCRIBE THE ISSUE. THE WHAT SOUNDS LIKE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE OCCURRED ON 2/6/21. THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. THIS CAR IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE.
