2018 JEEP COMPASS Forward Collision Avoidance Adaptive Cruise Control Problems

My husband purchased me this car about three months ago and it has been nothing but hell for me. My car won’t stop swallowing oil. I had an oil change a month ago and I’ve already lost a little over half of the oil, and there’s no obvious oil leaks under the car. My tranny also won’t shift past a 45 minute drive. It shifts rough for the first half hour but after that it progressively gets worse by the minute. After 45 minutes it won’t go faster than 50ish mph and it makes a very loud humming sound when it tries to shift. It has a harder time driving through cities than on the highway, my car just won’t go. 1) 10/29/2020 I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE CRUSE CONTROL ON WHEN THE CAR MADE A LOUD THUMP, JUMPED OUT CRUSE CONTROL, SHUT OFF, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER SITTING FOR A BIT, CAR STARTED BUT WOULD NOT GO OVER 25 MPR BACK TO TOWN. AT THE SIGNAL LIGHT, WHEN STOPPED, THE CAR STARTED TO GO IN REVERSE.
