Car engine seized and lost ALL power going 60mph down the highway at night with my child in the back seat. I have poured quarts and quarts of oil in this vehicle because it burns oil at an alarming rate until it eventually runs dry and the engine seizes. This is extremely dangerous and luckily my child and I were able to drift to the side of the road without harm and injury. Very discouraging that there are thousands of these cars and engines on the road that can literally seize up at any minute. Maintenance was performed and kept up with. The Oil pressure light had been flashing when the vehicle turned but was flashing even when oil had just been changed. These engines are dangerous and have people in a financial hard spot. I still owe $16k on a car I can no longer drive and that Hyundai...
I know there is a re-call for my vehicles engine and year with model. I am having serious issues with my vehicle related to the recalls for the same year and model. I feel unsafe driving my vehicle and now I do not know what to do.
I've taken the vehicle to several mechanics for engine-idling when turning, going up-hill. I've purchased new plugs, lines, engine cleaners, no-one can figure it out. The oil now has engine shavings even though the oil was recently changed. The car broke down today
Engine was replaced but car kept sputtering only to find out the fuel injectors needing replacement
My 2017 Hyundai Tucson Limited 1.6L Turbo (with 7-speed EcoShift DCT) has ongoing transmission problems. The vehicle hesitates, jolts, and sometimes fails to accelerate from a stop, which creates a serious safety risk when entering traffic or crossing intersections. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the Hyundai dealership in Fairfield, CT. They diagnosed the transmission and recommended a complete replacement at a cost of over $7,000. This issue matches the defect described in NHTSA Recall 16V628000 and Hyundai Service Campaign T1B, which involved the same 7-speed EcoShift DCT in 2016–2017 Tucson models. However, my VIN was not included even though I am experiencing the exact same safety defect. No warning lamps appeared before the hesitation/judder began. The safety risk is significant because the vehicle can fail to accelerate as expected in traffic, increasing the chance of a crash.
Car cuts off when driving the speed drops down automatically stops the dash lights go out and can’t start it right away
My car has been burning oil for over a year. there is no leak. I have been putting three quarts in every 4 to 6 weeks. I have now replaced two coil packs and the spark plugs. my engine light is on because it said 3 and 4 was misfiring so i recently replaced those coil packs and now it said spark plug and i replaced it again as well. so the engine light coming on and what it says the problem is is wrong. now when i push the gas it is knocking or missing. not sure how to describe it. no one has looked at it other than a friend that is a mechanic and he says its probably the engine because this kind of car has these problems.
1. After driving the car and turning it off, I get a loud bang coming from a gas tank. 2. Sometimes when making a hard right or left turn steering wheel vibrates, and the warning light for all wheel drive system comes on. When I turn the car off and restart it, it goes away. 3. After software installs due to recalls, when I accelerate my radio occasionally shuts off on its own, and then we’ll come back on on its own. 4. After turning the car off when I restart it occasionally the clock in calendar revert to 00:00 for the time and the date resets to 1/1/20.
Greetings, I have had issues with the Hyundai Tucson 2017 I own for many months. Issues include among others an abnormal knocking noise from the engine, reduced engine power and/or hesitation, burning smell, oil leaking, and smoke coming out of the engine, misfires, and other issues. It happened many times on the highway and almost caused accidents and the last time it happened, the vehicle was towed, and recently the smoke coming from the engine forced me to pull over. I reported the issue to the dealer but they didn't recall or address the issue. The car has been maintained properly over time and now I fear for my life. It is totally unfair that about 100k of this brand have been recalled for the same issue, in my case it is just after I finished to pay in full the vehicle. I seek your support to have it addressed...
In June of 2023 at around 79,000 miles. I was driving on the highway and had a sudden loss in acceleration and would not go above 65 mph. During the inspection, the dealership ran the vehicle through 3 tests of oil consumption and it failed 2 out of 3 which did not result in a replacement of the oil pan system. My car continues to burn through oil at an increased rate (every 3000 miles). I know because the dip stick is completely dry when checking it. In July of 2024 at around 84,000 miles, while driving on the interstate, I experienced a loss in acceleration again. My Tucson would not accelerate over 65mph. I took it into the dealership and they found that my catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The replacement was estimated to cost around $5000. For each incident, there were no warning lamps that illuminated on...
6 June 2024 - Sudden severe loss of engine power while driving, presenting potentially serious safety hazard in traffic situations. Check engine light illuminated during incident (not blinking). Driver was able to pull to side of road and shut off car, then after 2 attempts car re-cranked. Driver was able to crank and drive 5 miles home. Check engine code P1233 stored & retrieved by scanner, indicating fuel pump issue -- (potentially a low pressure fuel pump leak similar to Hyundai TSB 23-FL-004H?), which may present fire hazard from leaking fuel. Visual inspection of high pressure pump in engine bay - no noticed problems. Visual / olfactory inspection of area around gas tank - no noticed problems or smell of fuel, no indication of leaking. Briefly cranked engine, no noticeable leaks or sounds. No check engine light (though P1233 stored).
Four days while driving on streets and freeways in Oklahoma City My 2017 Hyundai Tucson turned off and stalled. Lots of lights came on. Luckily I was able to get out of traffic without getting rear ended. I took the suv to local Hyundai dealer and they couldn’t find the problem. The second time I took it to the dealer they replaced sensor crankshaft to clear lights that were coming on. Paid $209.27 for multi point inspection and paid $412.62 for second repair. I’m frustrated because I was without transportation for 4 days. Dealerships did not offer a car for me to drive.
Unknown the car just start malfunctioning
Car has 125,000 mi on it. This will be the 3rd catalytic converter in 2 years. Second one was March of 2022. I have excessive oil consumption (1QT every other week). Which I believe causes the exhaust system to clog. It’s an engine flaw design I believe. The issues isn’t the converter but the oil consumption contributing to the clogging. The vehicle actually had complete engine failure while I was driving on the interstate Dec 23, 2023 driving at 70 miles an hour! It was caused by the clogged converter! I could have died! Thank you.
When proceeding to move forward, the vehicle will sputter. Almost as if the vehicle is out of gas or not getting enough power to smoothly accelerate. This presents a very hazardous condition when leaving a red light or crossing an intersection. The vehicle jerks and sputters for about 2-4 seconds and then responds to the gas pedal and accelerates. Took it to the dealer and explained the problem and they said it's a known problem but there hasn't been a recommended fix and to drive the vehicle with the Turbo mode on. Even with Turbo mode on, the issue still persists.
Engine stalled in the middle of the highway. Could not get speed over 30mph to get out of the way of oncoming traffic even with the gas peddle pushed to the floor. Engine light flashing. Finally was able to get over to the side of the road with care bucking and jerking the whole way and stuttered to a stop.
Excessive oil consumption, vehicle hesitate and sputters when attempting to enter into traffic. Spark plugs expire early. We've been dealing with this worsening issue for 40k miles. My wife no longer feels safe driving this car. Dealership could not recreate the problem. They likely know what the problem is.
Vehicle stops changing gears, fuel pressure dropped while driving on highway. Vehicle does pickup speed over 40mph. No check engine light warnings. Vehicle can only change gears using manual mode and still does not pick up speed and fuel pressure is not sensed as pedal to the floor doesn’t make the engine move faster but makes the engine sound like a transmission issue is happening.
Hello, I'm contacting you re: the nationwide Hyundai Oil Consumption issue w/ certain makes & models. I own a 2017 Tuscon w/ just over 56K miles on it. Late last year, we drove my car from our home in Ky to Gatlinburg TN. While we were driving thru Cades Cove, my car acted up, so we found a local repair shop & they looked my car over & determined I needed 4 QUARTS OF OIL added! My car was almost BONE DRY!!! I recently finished my 3 trips to the dealership for the 'oil consumption tests' I'm not sure what was done to my car on each visit, EXCEPT I do know on visit #2, they cleaned my engine/pistons & changed the oil. After that, I drove it aprox 1582 miles & 'lost' 3/4 of a quart of oil. They Hyundai Co seems to think this is acceptable, however, I...
I took the vehicle in for a recall for unrelated issues to this problem at 90,000 miles (July 6 2022). The technician noted that the vehicle was leaking oil and it needed an oil pan reseal. I brought the vehicle back for this service on March 6 2023. Between the initial recall service and this service, I noticed that the vehicle was consuming a significant amount of oil, beyond regular consumption. On several occasions, after about 1000 miles after the oil was changed, I was adding 2-3 quarts of oil to the vehicle. Moreover, when the oil was changed, the technician who changed the oil, noted that the oil was very dirty despite only going 3000-4000 miles between oil changes. I mentioned this to the Lehigh Valley Hyundai Service Desk and that it was highly unlikely that an oil pan reseal would resolve this. They ordered an oil consumption test...
Engine fail, no warning till it happened, her car just stopped at night in the middle of the road while she was driving, she then smelled something burning and got right out of the car and called a tow truck. The car was towed to a Hyundai dealership where we were later told it was an engine block, and the car was basically burning gas. Cars been in the shop since January because the engine had to be shipped in parts from overseas. When the new engine had finally arrived, they took the old engine out and saw that the Pistons headshot shrapnel through the starter and through this turbo part, which is also now on back order. I do not know if the vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer, or the police. I feel very uneasy about the safety of this vehicle given everything that’s happened and even...
The vehicle started exhibiting symptoms of oil consumption in February 2022 and I had it into the dealer because I thought there was a leak but there was lack of power and the car seemed like it wanted to fail. After months of adding oil due to the excessive consumption, it just stalled and died in February 2023. I received an extended warranty for 150,000 miles on the engine and the dealer denied my claim and placed blame on me because there was sludge in the engine, lack of maintenance records even though I provided thorough maintenance records.
My Hyundai Tucson beginning at 65,000 miles Began consuming more oil than normal. There was a transfer of title through a family member with the vehicle and was not aware that in that case the cars 100,000 mile warranty is no longer valid. It is then reduced to half that or 60,000, one of the 2. I brought the fact up to the service rep at Hyundai that it was going through a lot of oil and they stated that it was normal with multiple cars that Hyundai produced. The oil was burning off and no detection of leak and no check engine light has ever came on. It never over heated. I then brought this up to Hyundai at about 92,000 miles and thats when I learned about the warranty being voided because of the transfer. The car at the time is running just fine but still burning oil...
The engine knocks norms oil fast after several oil changes and no visible leaks Not good
March 6, 2023 the check engine came on and I came out of pocket $900 for new Ignition coils.. A month later, the engine starts knocking and now they're saying that the engine is completely bad and would have to replace it. The engine burned alot of oil in that time. I was getting oil changes before the oil change mileage mark. I'm stuck at this moment because there is no recall for the engine for my vin.
My vehicle did not accelerate when I pressed the gas - also I am low on oil and I’m not due for an oil change, meaning there is an oil consumption issue with the engine. Something is wrong with the engine/oil.
Vehicle is showing transmission issues that match recall issued for same vehicle and model, problems accelerating and misfiring which appears to be dangerous too drive.
The components that are malfunctioning are the gas nozzle entrance, and the dual clutch transmission. It’s available for inspection, and is being inspected currently at a dealership. My safety’s been put at risk to combustion when filling gas, resulting in risks of fire and/or explosion. The dual clutch affects my, and others, safety with major hesitation, jerking, and risk of stalling at any given time. The problem with sparking at the gas nozzle entrance has been reproduced and recorded by the dealership server al times. The dual clutch was diagnosed as faulty and replaced twice, both within a two and a half year span (from which I was told it will continually happened and need to be replaced down the road). The issues have been inspected by dealership, KenGraff Hyundai Surprise, Arizona 85388. There were absolutely no warning lamps, messages, and/or symptoms of the problems.
Engine light and oil light stays on in the car. Car shaking really bad. Oil is evaporating in less than a thousand miles. 2017 Hyundai Tucson. Engine ticking noise and smells like fire. The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. I received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V727000 (Engine). I previously took vehicle in to dealer for sae issue back in march of 2022. They said it was fixed and their were no other vehicle engine issues. I was driving 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. My Warning light is illuminated. I was able to restart the vehicle and park the vehicle on the side of the roadway. The vehicle was not drivable. I took the vehicle to the local dealer who associated the failure with the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair....
Issues when trying to accelerate from a slow day pace or from a stop. Worse on really hot days and really cold days. It feels like the car is cutting out and/or hesitating. I have almost gotten hit several times due to this issue. The car is also idling very loud after start up. I have mentioned these issues the last 2 oil change appointments and nothing has been done or looked at. Stated I need to have the fuel emission system cleaned at 80k miles and that should help. That is my next step, but I have read a lot of the same complaints and wondering what has been done.
There is a problem with the transmission which doesn't allow us to accelerate fully. It usually happens when the truck is warmed up and very rarely happens when the truck is cold but the problem is that when you take off from a stoplight it does not accelerate like it should it holds back. You normally press down on the gas pedal to go and it just does not want to go and then it finally Clicks in and the truck goes but then it goes right back to not accelerating. If I had to pass cars I don't have the power to do that or if I'm on the highway switching lanes it struggles to keep up speed and climbing Hills on the highway it does not want to go and at times the RPMs go a lot higher than they should when Switching gears! I did read that...
My 2017 Hyundai Tucson refuses to accelerate after a complete stop at a traffic light, or just refuses to change gears after making a turn, or simply just lose power although on cruise control while drive on the freeway. I have reported the issue several times to Hyundai and the dealership, it seems that nothing can't be done and Hyundai is not taking my concerns seriously. I am not afraid to drive the car since I have a long commute to work, I escape several accidents before because the other drivers were cautious and kind enough when they notice that my car couldn't accelerate. Drivers have blown the horn at me on the highway because the car refuses to accelerate or change gear while I am driving. I can press the gas pedal all the way down, still nothing. When I press the gas pedal down, the engine start shaking...
Vehicle throttle body sticks and causes hesitation when accelerating from a stationary position. This is a serious safety concern when turning in front of on coming traffic or cross at an intersection. This make, model, year vehicle has been recalled for this issue, but not every vehicle manufactured during the year “2017” was recalled, as my vehicle does not show up as a recall.
1. LOST OF POWER/ACCELERATION WHEN IN DRIVE MODE, HAS HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES BUT TOLD BY SERVICE DEPT, NOTHING IS WRONG DURING THEIR TEST DRIVES. 2. DRIVER DOOR DOES NOT OPEN ON THE OUTSIDE, HAS TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. 3. SMELL OF EXHAUST INSIDE CABINET. HAVE BEEN TURNED AWAY FROM DEALER SERVICES DUE TO WARRANTY COVERAGE. I BELIEVE VEHICLE IS A LEMON
THREE TIMES IN TWO MONTHS I STOP AT RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN TAKE OFF AND MY TUCSON WOULD STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND WOULD NOT GO AFTER PADDING THE GAS PEDDLE THREE TO FOUR TIMES THE CAR WOULD GO THEN I AM WORRIED THAT ANOTHER CAR WILL RUN IN TO ME OR HIT ME AND SOME ONE WILL GET HURT IF NOT KILLED
WHEN ON ANY HILL (REVERSING OR FORWARD), IN HEAVY BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC, AND IN SOME INTERMITTENT SITUATIONS, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCES A LOSS OF POWER. THE SCARIEST PART OF THIS IS THAT THE CAR JOLTS QUICKLY ONCE IT FINALLY "FINDS A GEAR" AND DECIDES TO GO. WHEN MY CAR DIES BECAUSE IT CAN'T DEAL WITH SLOWER BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC, THERE'S A PROBLEM! WHEN I'M TRYING TO BACKUP ON A HILL AND THERE'S AN OBJECT BEHIND ME AND I NEARLY HIT IT BECAUSE I CAN'T GET THE CAR TO GO, IT'S A PROBLEM. IT'S A MANUFACTURERS PROBLEM THAT YOU AND THEY KEEP IGNORING! JUST LIKE THE FIRES THAT THEY IGNORED FOR YEARS. THE DEALERSHIPS REPORT TO HUNDREDS OF CUSTOMERS THAT THIS IS NORMAL. IT IS NOT NORMAL. FROM WHAT I HAVE FOUND IN MY RESEARCH, IT'S CAUSED BY A COUPLE OF THINGS. THE FUEL FILTER IS CONSTANTLY DIRTY FROM WHATEVER...
I HAVE DONE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE HYUNDAI TUCSON HAS THREE POTENTIAL PROBLEMS THAT CAUSE THE ISSUES WITH THE STALLING/LOW POWER ON TAKEOFF. I BELIEVE THAT PART OF IT MIGHT BE THE TRANSMISSION NOT ENGAGING PROPERLY IN 1ST GEAR AND THAT SHOULD BE SOMETHING THEY CAN FIX WITH A COMPUTER UPDATE. THE SECOND FROM WHAT I'VE READ IS THAT THE FUEL TANK HAS A MATERIAL FLAKING OFF ON THE INSIDE OF THE FUEL TANK CAUSING THE FUEL FILTER TO BE DAMAGED/CLOGGED. THE THIRD AND FROM WHAT I HAVE READ, THE REASON SOME OF THE TUCSONS FAIL IS A BAD CRANK SHAFT. MY GUESS IS THAT THE BAD CRANK SHAFT HAPPENS OVER TIME AND THAT THE PROBLEMS START WITH THE FUEL CLOGS. THE FUEL SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE EXAMINED TO ENSURE THAT THE "FLAKING OFF" MATERIAL DEFECT INSIDE THE TANK IS NOT THE CAUSE OF THE...
BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN FEBRUARY 2017. AS OTHERS HAVE NOTED, WHEN I APPLY THE GAS, THE CAR HESITATES AND THEN SURGES. VERY DANGEROUS AT INTERSECTIONS WHERE YOU HAVE TO GET UP TO SPEED AMONG OTHER CARS. BACKING UP ON A HILL IS VERY DIFFICULT - NOTHING HAPPENS UNTIL IT SUDDENLY JUMPS. HOLDING AND INCHING FORWARD ON A HILL IS SIMILARLY A CHALLENGE. THE DEALER OF COURSE SAYS THERE'S NOTHING WRONG. THE THIRD TIME I COMPLAINED THEY FINALLY SAID IT WAS A DESIGN ISSUE AND THERE'S NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. OTHER THAN THAT, THE CAR IS QUITE WELL DESIGNED. I REALLY LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE. BUT HYUNDAI REALLY SCREWED THIS UP AND I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE SUCH AN UNSAFE CAR. I WILL PROBABLY SELL IT AT A LOSS AND I DOUBT I'LL EVER BUY ANOTHER HYUNDAI. VERY POOR. THIS FORM REQUIRES ME TO PUT A DATE THAT THE INCIDENT...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE AFTER A STOP, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MCCARTHY OLATHE HYUNDAI (681 N RAWHIDE, OLATHE, KS 66061) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A LOOSE DRAIN PLUG. DUE TO THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE LOOSE DRAIN PLUG, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT THEN NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE. AFTER AN EXTENSIVE INVESTIGATION, THE MANUFACTURER DEEMED THE FAILURE TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO SERVICED THE VEHICLE FOR OIL CHANGES. THE MANUFACTURER DENIED TO HONOR THE WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,110.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OR SLOW MOTION, THE CAR SOUNDS LIKE IT IS ACCELERATING BUT IT DOES NOT MOVE. YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE IN NEUTRAL. I HAD PULLED OUT FROM A STOP SIGN, WITH PLENTY OF TIME TO MAKE THE RIGHT TURN, AS TRAFFIC WAS BACK A DISTANCE. I PULLED OUT ONTO THE MAIN STREET AND DID NOT CONTINUE MOVING ALTHOUGH I WAS PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR, BUT THE CAR RPM'S WERE GOING UP, NO SPEED FROM MY VEHICLE. BY THE TIME I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND LET THE CAR RPM'S RECOVER, THE MOTORCYCLE WAS COMING RIGHT UP BEHIND ME. HE WAS ASSUMING I WOULD BE MOVING, BUT HE HAD TO SWERVE TO MISS HITTING MY CAR. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND IT IS VERY UNPREDICTABLE. BOTH MY GROWN KIDS HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR AND HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING. I HAVE BEEN TO A DEALERSHIP 3...
FROM STOP TO 30 MPH INTERMITTENT HESITATION. DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO MERGE FOR DON'T KNOW IF CAR WILL MOVE OR NOT. IT 'BUCKS' FROM START TO ACCELERATION INTERMITTENTLY. FROM LOW SPEED TO TRY TO ACCELERATE DOESN'T ALWAYS WANT TO ACCELERATE. DUAL CLUTCH SEEMS TO BE THE PROBLEM AND MAYBE SOMETHING ELSE. HYUNDAI SERVICE DID NOTHING TO HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM, JUST 'LIVE WITH IT'. WOULD THEY LIKE THEIR TEENAGER DRIVING SUCH A CAR?? SOME TIMES CAR LURCHES FORWARD TOO INSTEAD OF HESITATION. GAS MILEAGE TERRIBLE TOO. NOT GETTING WHAT THEY SAID, 18-20 MPH, ONCE IN AWHILE 25 OR 30.
I HAVE A HYUNDAI TUCSON SE PLUS 2.0 LITER HAS ALMOST 21K MILES. I STARTED NOTICING AN ISSUE A FEW WEEKS AGO WHERE IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE FROM A STOP OR SLOW CRAWL. I'VE HAD SOME FRIGHTENING SITUATIONS WHERE TAKING A LEFT TURN IN AN INTERSECTION THERE IS DELAYED ACCELERATION AS MUCH AS 2-5 SECONDS WITH ON-COMING TRAFFIC. THE PROBLEM IS EXACERBATED WITH THE AC ON AND UNDRIVABLE UNLESS I TURN THE AC OFF AT THE STOPLIGHT/STOP SIGN. I'VE TRIED ADDING SEA FOAM TO A FULL TANK OF GAS THINKING IT WAS DIRTY FUEL-INJECTORS, BUT NO IMPROVEMENT. MY BROTHER HAS AN IDENTICAL CAR WITH 31K MILES AND CALLED ME TODAY OF HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THE ONLY COMMON DENOMINATOR IS IT HAS BEEN HOT (85-90 DEGREES) DURING THE DAY. WHEN THE TEMPERATURES ARE LOWER IN THE MORNING, I DO NOT NOTICE THE PROBLEM AS MUCH, BUT IT REMAINS SPORADIC. ALSO,...
MY HYUNDAI TUCSON HAS ALMOST 30,000 MILES ON IT. ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO WE BEGAN HAVING AN ISSUE WITH DELAYED ACCELERATION. WE WERE DRIVING NORMALLY THROUGH TOWN AND STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I PRESSED THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN AND STILL NOTHING HAPPENED. THE ENGINE DID NOT REV OR ANYTHING, SUDDENLY AFTER 3-5 SECONDS THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD AND BEGAN ACCELERATING. THIS HAPPENED DOZENS OF TIMES.I TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS I COULD. AFTER A DAY WITH THE VEHICLE THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. AFTER GETTING THE CAR BACK AND DRIVING IT FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES THE ISSUE RETURNED. I AGAIN TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE MANAGER KEPT THE CAR FOR 3 DAYS AND DROVE IT ABOUT 80 MILES OVER THOSE THREE DAYS AND SAID...
JULY 2018 CAR BEGAN MAKING NOISE WHEN TURNING ON AND BACKING UP. THE NOISE WENT AWAY WHEN I BEGAN TO DRIVE. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP FOR OIL CHANGE AND THEY COULDN'T DIAGNOSIS THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM BEGAN GETTING WORSE, MENTIONED IT AT NEXT OIL CHANGE. NOW MIND YOU, I DRIVE A LOT!! CAR IS 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS 83K. BETWEEN JULY AND DECEMBER 2018 THE CAR RECEIVED MINIMUM OF 4 OIL CHANGES ALL DONE AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP WHO SAYS IT'S NORMAL EVEN WHEN I COMPLAINED OF SMELLING GAS. AFTER RETURNING TO VA FROM MI, THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH ALL TURNED ON WHILE DRIVING, SPEEDOMETER JUMPED WHERE EVER IT WANTED IF IT WANTED TO MOVE AT ALL. TOOK TO NEAREST DEALERSHIP, DIAGNOSIS WAS BAD VACUUM PUMP. IT WAS REPLACED AND SAID ALL MY DRIVING ISSUES AND GAS SMELL WOULD STOP. NOPE....TOOK BACK IN, DIAGNOSIS IS FAULTY EXHAUST MANIFOLD. REPLACED. TWO...
***ENGINE TAKING TOO LONG TO START - SMART KEY*** IN SOME CASES IT TAKES TOO LONG THE ENGINE TO START. ENGINE STARTER IS WORKING BUT IS LIKE THE INJECTORS ARE NOT SUPPLYING GASOLINE TO THE ENGINE. IT COULD BE OVER 7 TO 10 SECONDS STARTING THE ENGINE UNTIL THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. AFTER THAT I OPENED THE HOOD AND I FOUND SOME OIL STAINS ON THE VALVE COVER. ALSO WHERE THE PCV VENTILATION IS IT LOOKS LIKE THERE IS SOME OIL VAPORS COMING OUTSIDE. ENGINE IS THE 2.0 GDI (NU ENGINE)

DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION (DCT) / 1.6T ENGINE START FROM STOP ACCELERATION STUTTERING, STALLING OCCURS FROM INITIAL TAKE OFFS, WHILE IDLING IN STOP/GO TRAFFIC CREATES POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS DRIVE/PASSENGER SITUATION IN TRAFFIC ESPECIALLY WHEN CROSSING TRAFFIC PATTERNS AND LANE MERGING/PASSING. ISSUE HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF HYUNDAI CORPORATE AND TWO LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALERSHIPS. BOTH PARTIES INDICATE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ON HOW TO PROPERLY DRIVE DCT TRANSMISSION AND PROVIDED BOTH VIDEO AND WRITTEN TRAINING PACKAGES. BOTH TRAINING MECHANISMS FAILED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. SUPPOSED SOFTWARE UPDATES BY THE LEASING DEALERSHIP FAILED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE ALSO. ISSUE IS STILL ACTIVE AND LATEST VISIT TO DEALERSHIP FAILED TO FIND ANY ISSUES WITH NO REPAIRS OR SOFTWARE UPDATES TAKING PLACE. SENIOR TECHNICIAN INDICATED HYUNDAI LEADERSHIP AT CORPORATE ARE ACUTELY AWARE OF ISSUE BUT CHOOSING TO NOT ACT ACCORDINGLY/APPROPRIATELY.
I'M WRITING THIS IN REGARD TO THE ISSUE I AM HAVING WITH OUR TUCSON WE BOUGHT NEW ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. FROM EARLY ON IT SEEMED THE TRANSMISSION LOSES POWER/ CHUGS. HYUNDAI SENT OUT A SURVEY ABOUT A MONTH AFTER WE BOUGHT THE CAR AND I STATED MY ISSUES THEN. MY WIFE HAS HAD IT IN THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THIS LOOKED AT NUMEROUS OF TIMES JUST TO BE TOLD THEY RESET THE TRANSMISSION, CAN'T FIND THE ISSUE OR HYUNDAI IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND LOOKING INTO IT. BUT LOOKING IN TO THIS ONLINE SEEMS THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR QUITE SOME TIME. THIS ISSUE IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS IT LOSES POWER/ CHUGS WHEN TURNING LEFT IN TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR WHEN PASSING SOMEONE. AT THIS POINT SEEMS HYUNDAI USA IS GIVING US (AND OTHERS ACCORDING TO ONLINE) THE RUN AROUND. I WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS...
VEHICLE FREQUENTLY, INTERMITTENTLY, STALLS DURING TAKE OFF FROM A STOP. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT VEHICLE WILL SIMPLY ROLL AS IF IT IS FREELY ROLLING IN NEUTRAL BUT IS NOT RECEIVING ANY POWER OR ACCELERATION FROM THE ENGINE FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 TO 5 SECONDS BEFORE ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN ENGAUGES AND VEHICLE ACCELERATES. THIS CREATES AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD WHEN YOU HAVE THE VEHICLE IN AN INTERSECTION AND ACCELERATE TO MAKE A LEFT TURN IN A GAP IN TRAFFIC AND END STUCK IN THE INTERSECTION OR IN FRONT OF AN ONCOMING VEHICLE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS ONLY ROLLING AND NOT ACCELERATING. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED TO HYUNDAI USA CORPORATE WHO HAS CHOSEN NOT OFFER ANY REMEDY AND HAS IT STATED TO ME THIS IS A "CHARACTERISTIC OF MY VEHICLE.". HYUNDAI USA HAS CONTINUALLY REFERRED ME BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO DOES NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE....
THE STUPID CAR LURCHES FORWARD WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE AND QUITS IN THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC AND INTERSECTION. IT IS A PIECE OF GARBAGE AS IT ENDANGERS EVERYONE IN THE VEHICLE. A 2 TO 3 SECOND PAUSE WITH THE ACCELERATOR PUSHED TO THE FLOOR IT DOES NOTHING AND THE IDIOTS AT EDWARDS AUTO/ HYUNDAI DON'T CARE ALL VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REMOVED FROM SERVICE UNTIL THEY FIRE THE MORON PROGRAMMERS AND FIX THE COMPUTER, SOFTWARE, BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR SENSORS. FACT IS THE CAR'S COMPUTER ISN'T FAST ENOUGH TO PROCESS THE SENSORS. IT IS A DANGER TO MYSELF AND IF IGET HURT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WONT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY ME FOR FAILING TO TAKE ALL TUSCONS OFF THE ROAD AND PUT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS IN JAIL FOR PUBLIC ENDANGERMENT.
