My car is burning through a quart of oil appx every 600 miles- this is NOT normal it's excessive oil consumption.
while driving about 6/7 lights on the dash comes on and the car stops. This happened several times and I took it to my auto mechanic Christian Brothers at Dacula, Ga. They said it is a soft ware problem and Hyundai USA does not accepts their are any software malfunction problems. Sometimes the car would start back again and other times it will not. I was on the highway coming home when my engine failed to go over 40mph i had to pull over on the side of the road and when we did the car just cut off completely this is the sencond time it’s failed since june of 2020, The turbo engine in my car keeps failing. I have the 2.0t
Sonata sport 2015 engine seized while trying to cross intersection of busy road, no one hurt cars swerved onto shoulder to avoid t-boning my car. The car was towed to the dealer and confirmed the engine seized due to the recall of engine that was sold defective. Denying claim bc the software campaign 953 was not performed, although I never received the notice. I am second owner bought car used from Hyundai Dealer.
The car stalls and the acceleration was very weak. Hesitation while driving. Jerking badly after going from a stop sign, stop light, or up a slight hill. Check engine light started blinking. I took it by Autozone to test the light. Comes out to be a knock sensor and wiring harness. I have a 2015 Sonata with 98,600 miles.

Driving on highway car lost speed check engine light blinking. Got home car was knocking, I believe the rid barron or knock sensor failed. Can't drive it.
The vehicle is driven roughly 80 miles a month for groceries and doctor appointments only. It has 40,900 Mike's on it and began to continually have the check engine, ABS, and traction control lights come on. The vehicle once put in drive or reverse will increase speed on it's own, nothing faster than about 7-10 miles per hour on a flat surface. I also noticed when these lights are on and I am in park the odometer will jump from 0-80,90, mph randomly. The lights will not always stay on or come on, just occasionally. I did take it for inspection for the above problems and had to replace the intake and outtake valve on cam shaft and a sensor (may have named them wrong). Just want to o report in case others are having same issue.

The contact and two passengers inside the vehicle exited the vehicle and the smoke turned from light gray to black as the smoke became thicker. There was an abnormal popping sound before the vehicle caught on fire. The fire department was contacted and the fire was extinguished. A fire report was not filed. There was no injury sustained. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,643.

The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred on July 20, 2021. The vehicle was taken to the same local dealer but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
I brought car in to see about engine light they told me it was a cvvt and it would cost $1700 which I couldn't afford they stated that because I did not get my oil changed there they could not cover it even though I had prrof of my oil changes from other companies. So took car to mechanic he stated that if I did have cvvt replaced in 6 months time I would have needed a new engine anyway . So he replaced the engine . I have done my homework spoke to numerous people and they have they same issue . How does a 2015 Hyundai with 104000 miles need an engine replaced
I experienced extremely high revving at idle(about 1500 rpm to 1750 rpm). I also experienced a dangerous loss of acceleration when trying to accelerate. I would put the accelerator to the floor and it would take about 10-15 seconds to reach a safe speed on a highway on ramp. Additionally I am consuming about 1/2 quart of oil per week. I change my oil faithfully every 3-4k miles and have documentation to prove it. My oil was down 2 1/2 qts at one point which I discovered by accident via my mechanic. There was no indication of this with the low oil indicator light. I only discovered this when my check engine light came on and my mechanic investigated the code.
Engine stalled and there was a loud knocking sound. Had vehicle towed to dealer only to be told that this is a known issue with Hyundai and we need a new engine. No loaner cars available and 36 people are in front of me with the same problem. No timeframe available for a resolution. Huge inconvenience. Called Hyundai only to be told that a case manager would call me in 7-10 days. If it’s a known issue, why haven’t they recalled the affected cars like last time?

My car caught on fire while operating

My motor to my vehicle all of a sudden started making noises as I was on my way home and dropped speed and didn’t accelerate past 55MPH, my car started stuttering every time I hit the gas and it won’t go past 2000RPM and my check engine light started blinking at me. The safety issue with this is that when it stutters it could cause a potential crash and put me and others in danger. I'm really at wit's end with what is going on with my car. My car is currently at 104K, its a 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport. A beautiful car with an abundance of serious issues. I've had trouble with my car accelerating for over a month and I've taken it to at least 5 mechanics who have troubled shooted with no success to fixing the issue. The problem: my car hesitates significantly when accelerating and sometimes when it's can't shift gears and I'm easing my foot on and off the gas pedal, it begins to shake while attempting to accelerate. I try not to put the car in sport mode but sometimes this mode is what helps the car shift gears but I don't think this good for the car. I was driving to work as I normally would from the University I attend. About half way to my destination the check engine light illuminated and right when I was about to find a safe place to stop the car abruptly stopped in the middle of the Highway and stalled on one of the most dangerous highways in the U.S. being US I-20. I almost immediately got hit from behind however a few vehicles behind me did get involved into an accident due to the my car stopping abruptly with little warning. I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING A 'SAFETY STOP. CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM' WARNING MULTIPLE TIMES. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO HYUNDAI MULTIPLE TIMES TELLING THEM OF THE ISSUE. THEY KEPT TELLING ME NO ISSUE COULD BE FOUND. THE LAST INSTANCE THEY UPDATED THE SOFTWARE IN THE CAR IN WHAT APPEARS TO BE A HAIL MARY TO SAY THEY DID SOMETHING. LAST NIGHT I WAS TRAVELING I WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 60 MPH. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CONSUMING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF ENGINE OIL. THE DEALERS INFORMED HIM THAT HE SHOULD ADD OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES. DISAPPEARING OIL. FOR YEARS NOW MY CAR HAS BEEN PROGRESSIVELY USING OIL. NOW I CAN'T EVEN GO A WEEK WITHOUT PUTTING IN MORE OIL AND IT HAS FOULED SPARK PLUGS AND LEFT ME STRANDED TWICE NOW, AND CONTINUES TO EXCESSIVELY CONSUME OIL. I FINALLY GOT TIRED OF THIS AT 130K MILES AND TOOK IT TO RELIABLE HYUNDAI IN SPRINGFIELD, MO. THIS DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN COMPLETELY USELESS IN OFFERING ANY HELP, ANSWERS, OR SOLUTIONS. THEY'VE ALREADY CHARGED ME $400 FOR A 'COMBUSTION CHAMBER CLEANING' - TOLD ME I WOULD BE REIMBURSED IF IT DIDN'T WORK, THEN WHEN IT WAS OBVIOUS IT DIDN'T WORK THEY DID NOT REFUND ME. THEY HAVE MADE ME JUMP THROUGH HOOPS IN HOPES I WILL EVENTUALLY GET A NEW ENGINE, BUT REPEATEDLY REMIND ME ULTIMATELY THAT MAY NOT HAPPEN. THE CAR STALLED WHILE ON THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING TO LEAVE SAN ANTONIO. THE CAR LEFT IN SAN ANTONIO TO BE FIXED FOR 30 DAYS. RETURNED TO SAN ANTONIO HYUNDAI REPLACED THE ENGINE DUE TO A FAULTY ENGINE. METAL FLAKES FOUND INSIDE ENGINE. I AM NOW BEING TOLD I NEED A TRANSMISSION LESS THAN 1 MONTH AFTER THE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. HYUNDAI NOT HONORING THEIR POWERTRAIN WARRANTY.

I WAS ALSO GIVEN A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN WITH A CAMPAIGN NUMBER OF 15-01-022-1. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ALSO CAME BACK WITH THE SAME CODE. I HAVE PAID FOR THE PARTS AND DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY COULDN'T GIVE AN ESTIMATE OF WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE BECAUSE THEY ARE ON BACK ORDER. HERE...
I THOUGHT I HEARD KNOCKING IN THE ENGINE A FEW DAYS AGO. I CHECKED SEEM TO BE NO PROBLEMS. THEN YESTERDAY MARCH 27 IT STOPPED ON MY IN TRAFFIC. IT STARTED BACK UP ONCE I GOT HOME IT CUT OFF AND WON'T START BACK UP
WHILE DRIVING AT INTERSTATE SPEED, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND THE CEL BEGAN FLASHING. THE ENGINE DID CONTINUE TO RUN, BUT WITH SEVERE HESITATION, VIBRATION, AND KNOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE MILEAGE AT FAILURE ~125K. ENGINE: 1.6 GAMMA T-GDI, TRANSMISSION:7SP DCT. THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE 20V746000 RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY ENGINE ABRUPTLY DIED WITH ALL SUBSEQUENT WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON. I HAD NO POWER, BEYOND BATTERY POWER, AND WAS STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY FOR 2.5 HOURS DURING RUSH HOUR. ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART OR TURNOVER REPRESENTING A LIKELY CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. MY LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALER DID NOT SEEM SURPRISED BY THIS REVELATION AND THEY STILL WONT TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG EVEN THOUGH THE CAR HAS BEEN UN THEIR POSSESSION FOR 72 HOURS.
THE CONNECTING-ROD BEARINGS IN THE ENGINE WORE OUT PREMATURELY. MY CAR ONLY HAS 75,000 MILES ON IT AND DOES NOT COME UP ON A VIN SEARCH AT HYUNDAI AS A RECALL VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH IT HAS THE 1.6 GAMMA MOTOR IN IT. THE DESCRIPTION FROM HYUNDAI OF THE ISSUE IS THE FOLLOWING, "ABNORMAL KNOCKING NOISES FROM THE ENGINE, REDUCED POWER OR HESITATION, ILLUMINATION OF THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT OR THE ENGINE OIL-PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT; OR A BURNING SMELL, OIL LEAKS, OR SMOKE." THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO US WHEN THE CAR DIED. WE TOOK IT IMMEDIATELY TO OUR LOCAL MECHANIC WHO WAS SHOCKED AT HOW WORN THE BEARING WEAR AND THE LARGE AMOUNT OF METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL.

MY CAR WAS UNDER THE HYUNDAI ENGINE RECALL CAMPAIGN THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED AT 60K NOW HAVE 113K THE CAR STAR TO GIVING ISSUES AND SMOKE FOR THE ENGINE CAP AND MUFFLER AND OIL DISPTICK THE CAR WAS TAKE TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE WAS UNDER THE HYUNDAI EXTENDED WARRANTY UNTIL 120K OR LIFE TIME AFTER THE DEALER MAKE THE INSPECTION THEY CONTACT HYUNDAI AND THEY ASK FOR PICTURES THE PICTURES WAS SENDED CAR WAS FINE NO OIL DEPOSITED EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN HYUNDAI AFTER 6 DAYS O BACK AND FOR THEY DENIED THE ENGINE CLAIM DEMANDING THE THE CAR WAS NO UNDER WARRANTY IF MY CAR WAS UNDER THE EXTENDED HOW THEY SAID THAT WITHOUT EVEN GIVE AN EXPLANATION I ATTACHED THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN THE DEALERSHIP ANS HYUNDAI DEALER
WHEN ENGINE IS RUNNING OIL LEAKS FROM ENGINE AND ON TO EXHAUST CAUSING SMOKE TO COME OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND THE SMELL OF BURNING OIL TO ENTER THE CABIN.
MY CAR JUST STARTED MAKING A WEIRD KNOCKING SOUND AND SO I PULLED OVER AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START ONCE I TURNED IT OFF.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, VEHICLE STARTS MAKING AKLUNKING SOUND AND THE SPEED STARTS SLOWING DOWN UNTIL CAR STOPS
I HEARD A TICKING NOISE THAT WAS COMING FROM MY MOTOR TODAY 1/28/2021 AT 7:15AM WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED. I DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NOISE WOULD OCCUR AT WHEN THE CAR WAS IDLING OR I MY VEHICLE WAS ACCELERATING. I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP AT 8AM. AT 9 AM I WAS INFORMED THAT A BEARING IN MOTOR DROPPED IN MY MOTOR AND CAUSED METAL TO FUN THROUGH MY MOTOR AND THAT I WOULD NEED A NEW MOTOR. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW IN 2015 AND HAVE KEPT UP ALL THE MAINTENANCE. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THERE IS NOT A CERTAIN REASON WHY THIS HAS HAPPENED.
HESITASION ON EXCELERATION AFTER STOP .QUITE OFTEN USUALLY AFTER A COMPLETE MOVING IN TRAFFIC AND STOPPED PRESS EXCELORATER PEDAL NOTHING THEN IT LUNGES FORWARD .FRIGHTNING AT TIME ESPECIALLY IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE OIL CHANGES BETWEEN 4 TO 5000 MILES AND IT IS USING OIL NO LEAKS ITS GOING SOMEWHERE. HAS APPROX 65300 MILES. HAPPENS PERIODRADIALLY THE HESITASION.EVERY SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE CAR.
