The vehicle is a 2016 Ford Fusion with 70,000 miles when this happened happened the first time. I pushed on the brakes and the pedal went to the floor. I had just enough braking power to stop the vehicle. The danger is obvious, I had no brakes but I was going slow on local roads. I had the vehicle towed to an independent repair shop where they diagnosed failure of the right rear brake caliper. They replaced the caliper, hoses and ceramic brake pads at a cost of about $600. All was good for about 1500 miles when the exact same thing happened, except now it was the driver's side caliper. Fortunately, once again, I was driving on local roads at low speeds and by holding the pedal totally against the floor, I was able to drive over the curb onto a lawn without hitting anyone. if I had been...
On [XXX], Plaintiff [XXX] was in urgent need of replacing the front passenger side tire on his vehicle. He began searching online to compare automotive service providers, focusing on those offering competitive pricing and professional-grade installation. During my search, 1 came across Mr. Tire's website, which prominently displayed claims such as "Expert installation for less" and "Quality service for superior stopping power." According to their site, their tire installation package included: • Tire mounting and wheel balancing • Standard valve stem replacement • TPMS inspection and reset • Wheel alignment check • Precision wheel torque by hand tools • Lifetime tire rotation • Lifetime rebalancing Believing this was a comprehensive and professional service package, I scheduled an appointment at Mr. Tire, located at 5 Bel Air South Parkway, Bel Air, MD 21014 (Store #771). Upon arrival, I checked in with the store manager, Brianna Adams, who prepared my service contract....

I had a recall on my car for brake hoes was leaking i fixed it but now brake fluid is leaking from right passenger side calliper after recall was done on my car and the recall done by Purvis Ford Inc 11335 Patriot Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 and they are not taking the responsibility that it happened after the recall done by them
My cars brake lights will not turn off and while pressing on the gas to accelerate today 8/26/25, the braking system randomly just slows my cars down while I’m driving. The brake pedal bumper was previously recalled for the Ford Fusion as told to me by Ford mechanic. But because my vin isn’t associated with the recall Metro Ford stated they could not fix the problem and I was sent back out on the road with a known recall issue.
I own a 2016 Ford Fusion and the brake pedal stop bumper disintegrated and fell onto my floorboard. As a result, my brake lights stayed on, draining my battery. When I tried to drive, my car would not accelerate over 20 mph, and I barely made it home safely. I where it's extreme humid and salty air are constant, the same conditions identified in Ford’s 22S02 recall. Ford has stated my vehicle is not included, but this is a clear safety hazard identical to the recall issue. I request that NHTSA investigate and include my vehicle in the 22S02 recall.
The ABS module is faulty and light will come on at random times and makes steering hard and braking on right side of vehicle is hard. I have taken it to Raceway Ford of Hartsville and they are having a hard time getting the part due to it being called obsolete but I think it needs to be on the recall list as well due to it being a safety concern on my vehicle.
The left rear caliper has been replaced 3 times in the last 6 months and is currently in the shop for a 4th. This locks up for no reason and ruins the brake pad and the rotor and I have now replaced all of that 3 times as well and the brake hose line.
This failure narrowly resulted in a serious accident when my vehicle applied the brakes without warning and dropped the speed to below 40 mph on the Highway! I was extremely fortunate not to have been closely followed by a large semi at the time. I researched on my own and found this was a known defect: Ford Recall reference #22S02 (21C24) March 2022. includes vehicles built in Hemosillo plant from Oct 2013 thru 6 April 2015. my fusion was built there on 2 April 2015 but was not included in the March 2022 recall so I was never notified. Apparently this was a known defect and on going problem since Ford issued SSM 50328 to cover various vehicles built from 2013 to 2021 (Includes 2013-2017 Fusion/MKZ). I was able to drive the vehicle safely on back roads to a local Ford dealer where the problem was addressed. I submitted a...
While traveling at a high rate of speed of 75 mph, on the highway, my brakes failed, the brake pedal was pushed to the floor. The car was hesitant to shift/accelerate. Upon trying to get some type of braking remedy i almost crashed from off the bridge that i was trying to merge on to. upon trying to stop the car i went up a small grade which brought the car to a stop with the emergency brake on. While out of the vehicle the back, driver side caliber caught flame with bluish and greenish flames from the brake fluid coming out, being the metal was at an extreme temperature. I thankfully had my children's drinks/slushies in the car to throw on the flame to stop the spread and to put the flames out. I had to call for a tow truck to get myself and children off the side...
While driving to pick up my wife from work, I was not able to accelerate past 35-40 mph. Upon arriving home, we noticed that the brake lights were staying on. We took the car to our local Ford dealer and was told it was a stop lamp switch pad that had broken off and that, unfortunately, the pad was not sold separately, I would need to purchase the entire brake pedal assembly and pay for the labor to have it installed ($585.11). Shortly after this occurred I found that 2013-2015 models of the Ford Fusion (same body) had been recalled for the same issue. The pad becomes brittle and breaks apart when the car is predominantly in hot and humid climates. I live in Deep South Texas where temperatures and humidity hover around 100 degrees for 10 months a year. I believe other model years should be added to the...
There is an Unrepaired Recall associated with my car. The Manufacturer Recall Number is 23S12. The NHTSA Recall Number is 23V162. The https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls website instructed me to file an online complaint if the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner.
The previous 2 models of this car had a recall on the button underneath the brake switch that is engaged by the pedal. They have not changed the design and the 2016 has the very same issue, plus another issue. We were able to replace the button ourselves since they decided not to admit that they did not change these parts even though they knew this was an issue years prior. Not only that, but the holder for the switch is part of the entire pedal assembly and it is the only part of this assembly that is made of plastic. The rest is metal. The problem is that since this is plastic, and it resides where the heat comes out from under the dash, the part becomes brittle and breaks into a million pieces just with normal wear. The pedal assembly is super expensive and you can't even get...
I have contacted Flagship Ford Carolina in Puerto Rico in regard to processing my recall and continue to be pushed aside. For over a month now, I am told someone will call me back and never does or I am transferred and receive no response. When I call back week after week, it is the same situation over and over with someone different. One person has told me they work on this recall but have to confirm if parts are available and that someone will get back to me. It has been two weeks since. I have to ship my car back to the states in less than two weeks, and the recall is supposed to be completed. This is unacceptable. Their information is below. Flagship Ford Carolina Ford dealer in Carolina, Puerto Rico Address: Parque Escorial, Av. 65 de Infantería KM 5.3, Carolina, 00984, Puerto Rico +1 787-302-2723
I went to pick my daughter up from school as usual and the brakes would not work when I tried to stop in the turn loop. It caused me to crash the side of the car into a cement light post.
Ford Dealership is refusing to preform the brake line recall 23S12, if I do not purchase new lug nuts saying that they are swollen, deformed. I called the corporates number and they told me they are aware of the issues with the lug nuts, but also said I would have to pay out of pocket for them to preform the brake line recall. I'm now worried about the condition of the lug nuts since the hold they wheel on as well as the brake line in the above mentioned recall which they are refusing to service without taking payment over a recall !!!
Brake Booster Failed. No warning lights prior. I was driving when all of the sudden my brakes stopped working and brake pedal became very stiff and extremely hard to press down. I almost hit the car in front of me but fortunately was able to swerve on to the shoulder and had to take a right through a red light and was able to roll the car to a stop almost 40 yards further. I could have caused a severe accident. I see now there is recall for the same issue on F-150 trucks. I definitely think this needs to be a recall as I could have been severely inured or possibly fatally injured. My brakes do not work properly and the brake pedal is extremely hard to press down. The Ford dealership ran a diagnostic and stated, Replace engine camshaft, vacuum pump and related gaskets and hardware. Do not...
My driver door lock light will not glow when I lock my vehicle. Transmission is slipping and has a recall on it. Front brakes has a recall.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop immediately. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulics). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
Coolant leak into engine causing over heating 24/7, damaging and leaking into combustion chamber , spark plugs had to be replaced , engine needs another replacement after I had replaced it the first week I got it with the vehicle’s warranty, engine is at risk for engine fire and failure. Transmission shifter cable replacement, became detached and damaged, car was stuck in reverse twice and had to be towed to mechanic . Current Recall on breaks because of possible fluid leak for ford fusions , at risk for crash. Engine currently is shakey when you first start it up.
August 15, 2023 factory recall (Manufacturer recall 23S12) repaired by Ford dealer for FRONT brake fluid leak. Three weeks later I noticed an increased in the brake pedal travel, checked brake fluid which confirmed why brake pedal had more travel. Topped off brake fluid. Drove for a few days and again brake pedal travel increased. Took car to an independent certified auto repair shop and they confirmed the REAR brake line was leaking. Shop owner had to replace the brake actuator which was damaged by the brake fluid leak.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the contact heard an abnormal sound and became aware that when the brake was depressed, the brakes failed to operate as needed. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,300. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH and approaching a stop light, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the brakes was inoperable. The contact stated that she was able to slow the vehicle by driving up a hill. The contact stated she was able to use the parking brake to securely park the vehicle. The contact stated she was able to drive the vehicle to a local independent mechanic. The vehicle was diagnosed but no brake pedal nor brake system failure was found. The contact was informed that the vacuum booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,854.
This incident has happened to me more than once in the past few months. I am driving along the highway and all of a sudden I lose my power steering. The dashboard reads STEERING ASSIST FAULT. Service required. As well as Service Advance Trac. Safety issue because going at moderate speed to get onto highway and losing all power steering could cause me to go off road if in bad weather like rain or snow. In each situation all it took was me pulling off road and resetting the car by turning engine off and then turning it back on. I have take it to a Ford dealership near me and they ran a full diagnostics but couldnt find anything really wrong with it but it continues to happen at least once a month. Ive read similar incidents with Ford Fusion owners on Google and they werent sure as I...
My brakes failed. Pedal went to the floor. Brake fluid leaked out. Extremely terrifying.
BRAKES WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW LIGHT CAME ON. MYSLEF AND OTHERS WERE AT GREAT RISK AS I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS WITHOUT A WAY TO BRAKE. GOT IT TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND WAS CONFIRMED TO BE THE FRONT BRAKE HOSES. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS OF THIS HAPPENING.
I got into an accident around May 3rd. Roughly around 11 pm to 12 am. To inform whomever is reading, none of the issues I will list have happened prior to this event. At the accident my car would not turn on, and it would not lock. As well as a piece of the car had broke off. I took my car to Mike's auto body for repairs. When the person inspecting the car had reviewed what was wrong with my 2016 Ford Fusion, I was informed part of the issue was the starter. I was informed by Nick a staff member of Mike's auto body, that the piece was replaced. After I had picked up my car on June 6, 2023 as per the receipt from my payment. The first time the event happened was on around June 6th to June 20th (I know it happened on a rainy...
Safety Recall 23S12/23v162 recalls with problem with FRONT brake flexible hoses ...same problem exists with these hoses on REAR brakes. Notified dealer where I purchased but the service department was not interested in an u reporting
I take it to mechanic they say my car have transmission problems is making lot noise and stop and go really crazy. The dealer say there is nothing wrong with car. The. Brakes sometimes get me scared when I drive I feel we r not safe. No and they can’t fix it because they don’t have the part for the brakes. The msg was check owner manual something like that which can mean lots different problems in ur vehicle.
Breaks went out while driving with my child in the vehicle, called local Ford dealer and they first tried to say it could be a few reasons other than the recall, but it is the Break line that's leaking, no indication light has came on in my vehicle ford will not accept the vehicle because there is no remedy this has not only put both our lives amongst many others on the road , my car is also financed I'm a single mother who has to be able to go to work SAFELY and I feel that ford is just not being held responsible for the repairs that's due to there fault. This had now put us in an extreme hardship.
The contact's wife owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number:23V162000(Service Brakes, Hydraulics) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the brake pedal depressed to the floorboard as he approached a highway exit. The brake fluid warning light appeared on the instrument panel as the contact immediately applied his emergency brake. The dealer had been notified about the recall and informed him that they could not assist him. The manufacturer had been notified of the recall. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repaired. The failure mileage was 179,000. VIN tool confirms parts not yet available.
Car started getting warning that says service AdvanceTrac. Hill assistance not available. It started around March 15th. The lights of the ABS and 2 others come on and then off. I would come into my car and the floor mat on the driver side would be wet no rain or anything outside. Yesterday, brake fluid light came on and breaks went completely out. I have a recall on my vehicle that I’m pretty sure relates to this issue. I’m looking to get repaired
I began receiving a brake line warning that my system was leaking, and needed to be filled. I replaced the brake fluid in my vehicle, and less than two hours later the car said the same warning. I couldn’t brake without pushing the brake all the way too the floor
The contact owned a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulics), a few months approximately four months after the vehicle was destroyed. The contact stated that while making a right turn at approximately 10 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle continued to move forward striking a crosswalk pole. A police report was filed and the vehicle was towed to a lot and then taken to an independent mechanic where it was not able to be repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
I got an email from carfax that there was a recall on my vehicle for brake lines, upon research I confirmed with my VIN & called Ford of Janesville, they told me in March there was no remedy yet, more than a month has passed and there is still no remedy this poses a huge safety risk to drive due to brake fluid leaking out & potentially causing the brakes to not function & cause an accident. Prior to the recall notification my brakes randomly started making a very loud disturbing noise not caused by brake pads/rotors as my vehicle has been inspected by a mechanic employed through the city of Milton. This causes a very serious and dangerous risk to my driving and the driving of others in the event my brakes do not work anymore.
One expects more of a company with your fine reputation and long history. Therefore, I feel sure you will know how to solve my car problem. Since May 9, 2017, I have taken my 2016 Ford Fusion to Ford Dealerships to repair the “Park Brake Malfunction Light, Service Now!” on my car. Whereas, today, it’s still not fixed. Background On November 17, 2015, I went to purchase an extended warranty, for my 2011 Ford Fusion. However, the Finance Manager at Randall Reed’s Park Cities Ford gave me the option to buy a new car. Unlike most car customers, I did not have the opportunity to select a vehicle from the car fleet or showroom floor. He, himself selected the new 2016 Ford Fusion vehicle with approximately 18 miles and prepared the paper work for my signature. Facts I have taken my car to the Ford Dealerships 18 times to have...
I was driving and when I proceeded to brake I felt something pop and my brake peddle went all the way down I could feel like air
Brake line hose burst causing the brakes to fail while driving . I was not able to stop the car had to pull the emergency brake. This is the third time in two years.
On 11/18/22, I left the house to pick my son up from school. Several blocks later, I tried to stop at a stop sign and found I had no brakes. The brake pedal pushed all the way to the floor with no resistance and little effect. Prior to this moment, there was no indication of brake troubles. Thankfully, I was not yet in the school zone, which could have been disastrous. I was able to slowly navigate back home, where we checked and filled the brake fluid, which promptly and completely drained on our driveway. Only after this time did the low brake fluid light come on. I had to have my car towed to a mechanic, where they found the right front brake hose was split open and the left front hose was bulging dangerously. Both front hoses were replaced, costing over $400 in parts, labor, and towing.
The brake lines ruptured and the pedal went to the floor on the drivers side front wheel. It is in for service right now at Auto ER at 2383 SW Archer Rd, Gainesville, FL 32608.
While driving at a high rate of speed the vehicle’s brakes completely failed nearly causing a serious crash. The car ended up rolling up and over a median causing damage to the vehicle. Upon inspection the from right brake hose ruptured causing a complete loss of brake fluid and loss of braking ability.
Break hose was recalled by Ford but Ford refused to fix it until it broke. I expressed my concerns about safety and was told by the dealership they hadn’t seen the hose break yet. While driving my break fluid suddenly went out and my peddle dropped to the floor. I barely missed hitting someone with my car. I called the dealership and was told I’d have to bring the car in next week. I called cs and expressed concern and was told I could take it to another one even though I was scared to drive it that far. I called the other dealerships and no one answered. Another repair shop got me right in and it was in fact the hose that broke.
The front brake hoses broke. We received a Customer Satisfaction Program notice from Ford the week before this happened. I called the dealer to get information and wanted them to check my car, but they said it was not necessary. The car was driven on a major highway, the brake fluid came out and not even a mile later, the brake fluid light came on, and i could not stop the car. The brake pedal was to the floor! Luckily, and I mean luckily, I was able to turn into a parking lot. The car was towed to the dealer, where they determined the above. The car has been repaired with "newly designed" hoses. Ford was surely aware of the problem, but did not issue a recall. Truly unbelievable!
On September 13, 2022, car was parked and idling. Heard/felt small pop. Pressed brake pedal to put vehicle in gear and pedal felt much softer than usual and was able to press to floor without effort. Noticed that AC air warmed up was well. Eventually noticed smoke wafting up from engine compartment on passenger side. inspected right front tire and saw oily spots on to inner side of wheel rim. popped hood and oily substance all over inside passenger side of engine compartment, particularly on serpentine belt, explaining the warming air from AC. While I could build up brake pedal pressure it never lasted long and pedal would become soft and press to the floor. Carefully drove car to local dealership and was informed about a "Customer Satisfaction Program" for the vehicle allowing for a one-time replacement of the front brake flexible hoses. Vehicle is currently being repaired.
Ford dealer has the part but refuse to repair it for me claiming FORD manufacture hasn’t issued the official recall letter. It has been 3 months that I am not able to use my car. Please let me know when I can get this recall repaired. Thank you!
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated the brake lights were continuously illuminated. The contact taped the brake button in to stop the warning light from appearing. The contact also stated that the failure caused the battery to drain. There was also a failure while accelerating with the RPM being inoperable while depressing the accelerator pedal down to the floorboard. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000.
Brakes failed while driving at low speed. Found brake fluid on inside of drivers side front. Broken brake line
December 2021 right front brake hose failed. Was replaced. July 2022 left front brake line failed . in shop to be replaced. Brake failure puts all in vehicle at risk as well anyone in vehicle i was following. there was no warning just a "pop" and no breaks when pedal was pushed. December 2021 occurred at 87437 miles July 2022 occurred at 94040 miles this is a serious safety issue and needs to be addressed by NTSA. it is not the only report of this failure on this vehicle or vehicles of prior years and Ford Motor Company doesn't seem to care about the failure or the safety of their owners.
While I am driving, the "Service AdvanceTrac" light comes on and flashes between these two error messages: "Hillside Start Assist Not Available" "Check Rear Park Aid" While these lights are flashing, the ABS light, airbag light, and the stability control light all come on and stay on, as well as the power steering goes out. This happens at random times, driving on expressways, in local stop and go traffic. In addition, the times the lights are not blinking and power steering is out, the brake pulses when you use it as if the ABS system was triggered- but for no reason. The road is fine, driving conditions are perfect--- no reason at all for it to happen. I bought the car from Dana Ford in August 2020 and brought it in over 6 times for this problem. Dana Ford had my car for well over 6 of the first 9...
