My 2014 Ford fusion completely lost power and wouldn't even start or turn on novemeber13, 2022. The car was towed to a dealership, and I was told that the coolant was going inside of the engine and causing corrasion. We contacted the warranty company and was told that this was a manufacture's default and that they wouldn't fix/ replace my engine because my whole engine needed to be replaced. I contacted ford and they said there was no recalls on my car and in 2017 I saw on cars.com that the engine/ coolant system for ford fusions from 2014-2017 were recalled but Ford said there was no such recall and that their recalls have an S in them and not a v.

Awhile back before the part was recalled the shifter cable gasket slipped and the transmission was stuck in park in a drive through fast food restaurant line. Luckily I acted quick and resolved the issue by locating the gasket and dropping the ball into the shifter cable hole. On the highway I noticed white smoke and sputtering/jerking, I took the car straight to ford. Dropped it off and today learned there is coolant intrusion causing the engine to have to be replaced while other vehicles are hnder recall mine is not. This vehicle is a major safety concern.

The engine would not product power from stop to driving speed. This became evident when we were trying to accelerate to make a left turn through oncoming traffic. We were almost in an accident as the car / engine would not accelerate under partial or wide open throttle. I had my wife, child, and a child's friend in the vehicle at the time this issue first occurred. The Vehicle is currently in my position in front of my house. It is available for inspection if needed. The vehicle was inspected and was shown to have no compression in cylinder #2. This was causing a misfire in cylinder #2. This was causing the loss of power. There were no indicators prior to the loss of power. This vehicle was in the same shop a month and half prior to replace a water pump and belt.

My 2014 ford fusion eco boost was cranked, a message popped up about overheating and the pedal went out. 2 Car shops later, ive replaced the thermostat, water pump and timing belt to find now it has a cracked engine. I have never missed a oil change and always kept fluids in my car, it has less than 60,000 miles. This a a defective issue in a court case strung out for years about allecoboosts. People are buying these cars like me, i paid $26,000 for mine and having the engine blown shortly after and all ecoboosts are. This is a ford issue and I should not be held responsible to pay for a new engine, esp when it will happen again with the new engine as it is a defect from ford !! Coolant level low indicator comes on. Checked level and looked low but I take cap off and level normalized as if there was suction on the reservoir. Replaced the cap. Nothing changed. When I would start the car it would run like it’s misfiring and sometimes stall out completely. Check engine light would come on. Kept checking coolant and it wasn’t low. I pulled over because the vehicle was performing rough into a Lowes parking lot. I was within several hundred feet of a Ford dealer and drove it there. The vehicle smelled like smoke and noise from the rear of the vehicle. Service advisor Roxanne Detgen, t. no. 586-840-1086, at Dorian Ford, says that the car likely needs a new engine. She has contacted Ford motor company and then will contact me to authorize a teardown of the engine. The vehicle is a safety risk because it had sudden poor driving performance without the illumination of any lights, loss of power, and is a fire hazard. I'VE HAD MY CAR FOR 5 YEARS. 6 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED IT IT STARTED SHOWING TRANSMISSION ISSUES. IT'S ALMOST LIKE IT GETS STUCK IN A GEAR WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE , AND THEN IT FLINGS YOUR FORWARD. WHEN DRIVING UP A HILL IT WON'T GO OVER 30MPH. I TOOK IT IN OVER 2 YEARS AGO TO FORD AND WAS TOLD A TRANSMISSION RECALL FOR 2014 FORD FUSIONS WAS COMING. 2 YEARS LATER AND I'M BEING TOLD MY CAR DOESN'T QUALIFY BUT IS SHOWING ALL THE SIGNS THAT'S LISTED ON THE RECALL. I HEARD A NOISE IN MY VEHICLE IN JULY. I HAD THE SERVICE MANAGER TAKE A DRIVE. HE THOUGHT IT WAS A WHEEL BEARING. ON SEPTEMBER 2 I TOOK IT IN TO BE FIXED. THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS NOT A WHEEL BEARING. IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. I CONTACTED FORD DIRECTLY. THEY TOLD ME THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND I NEEDED TO FILE THIS COMPLAINT. I HAVE ATTACHED THE WORK ORDER FROM THE DEALERSHIP DOCUMENTING THIS FACT.

I HAVE TAKEN GREAT CARE OF MY CAR AND HAD IT SERVICED REGULARLY. ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STARTED HAVING STARTUP ISSUES WITH WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS INDICATING MISFIRE ON THIRD CYLINDER AND RANDOM MISFIRES ON STARTUP. SHORTLY AFTER THESE SYMPTOMS PRESENTED, THE CAR RAPIDLY OVERHEATED WHILE IN MOTION AND LEFT ME STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TOOK IT TO TWO SHOPS AND BOTH CONFIRMED IT IS RELATED TO A KNOWN ISSUE WITH MY ENGINE (1.5 ECOBOOST) FOR WHICH FORD HAS RELEASED MULTIPLE CORRECTIONS IN THE FORM OF TSBS, FSAS, AND CSPS. THE DESIGN OF THE SHORT BLOCK AND THE ENGINE PROGRAMMING HAVE CAUSED THE COOLANT TO PREMATURELY DEGRADE THE HEAD GASKET WHICH LEADS TO COOLANT INTRUSION INTO THE ENGINE CYLINDERS. DROVE MY 2014 FUSION WITH APPROX 141,800 MILES ON IT TO WORK (APPROX 30 MILES) THE NIGHT OF 8/25/2020 WITH NO ISSUES OR WARNING LIGHTS UPON PARKING IN THE PARKING GARAGE AND EXITING THE VEHICLE. WHEN I CAME OUT THE NEXT MORNING IT FAILED TO START WITH THE REMOTE. WHEN I GOT IN AND TRIED TO START IT, IT STILL WOULD NOT START AND IT PROVIDED NO WARNING LIGHTS. HAD SOMEONE ATTEMPT TO JUMP IT WHICH OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T WORK, SO WAS IT TOWED TO A NEARBY FORD SERVICE CENTER. 2014 FORD FUSION HAD NO PRIOR PROBLEMS AND NEVER INDICATED ANY OVERHEATING. AT 60K MILES THE DASH INDICATED ENGINE OVERHEATED. PARKED THE CAR IMMEDIATELY AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP ADVISED THE COOLANT ENTERED THE ENGINE CYLINDER HEADS AND THAT THE ENTIRE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
