TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE TEMPERATURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF, AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE TO STEARNS FORD (602 ALAMANCE ROAD, BURLINGTON, NC 27215) AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE COOLANT MIXED WITH THE OIL AND THE ENGINE BLOCK FRACTURED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,000.
WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON BEGINNING OF JULY AS I WAS TRAVELING INTERSTATE IN HEAT ((98 DEGREES) . WEEKS LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT APPEARS ALONG WIT THE WRENCH LIGHT. I NOTICED A SMELL BUT THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT SINCE IT WAS SO HOT OUTSIDE. THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS BAD AND REPLACED BY FORD (TRANSMISSION PULLED) BUT ALSO THE MECHANIC NOTICED LEAKING OF COOLANT AND I HAD TO REPLACE COOLANT FLANGE, THE G-ADAPTOR-WATER OUTLET CONNECT, COOLANT OUTLET PIPE AND OF COURSE, ANTIFREEZE. MOST FUSIONS RECALLED BUT NOT MINE ACCORDING TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE, I HAVE A 1.5 L ENGINE BUILT IS FLAT ROCK ASSEMBLY AS OTHERS WERE. I WAS TOLD BY THEM TO HOLD ONTO THE BILL. REALLY?

VACUUM PUMP FAILED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THIS CAUSED LOSS OF POWER BRAKES. NEARLY CRASHED AT INTERSECTION AS I WAS FORCED TO GO THROUGH A RED LIGHT BECAUSE OF THE LOSS OF BRAKES. UPON DISASSEMBLY OF VACUUM PUMP I FOUND THAT THE DRIVER FOR THE VACUUM PUMP WAS BROKEN OFF IN THE CAMSHAFT AND THE PUMP WAS SEIZED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE I BELIEVE THAT IF MY WIFE OR DAUGHTER HAD BEEN DRIVING WE WOULD HAVE SURELY WRECKED. ALSO I THINK FORD WILL AVOID THIS ISSUE BASED IN THE HIGH COST OF REPAIRS. REMOVING THE BROKEN PIECE FROM THE CAMSHAFT AMOUNTED TO MAJOR ENGINE REPAIR. THE CAR WASH AS AT THE REPAIR SHOP SEVERAL WEEKS.
SO I HAVE A 2014 FUSION, BOUGHT PRE-OWNED CURRENTLY WITH ABOUT 16,000 MILES. I RECENTLY NOTICED THAT MY CAR WHEN ACCELERATING PAUSES TO ACCELERATE. THIS IS ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE TRYING TO GO FROM 0-60 AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. ALSO AFTER SLOWING DOWN AND HITTING THE GAS PEDAL IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE NO POWER IS BEING APPLIED TO THE ENGINE MOMENTARILY. I WAS STATIONARY, THEN IN MOTION BELOW 10MPH CROSSING AN INTERSECTION ON A CITY STREET AND TO MY RIGHT A VEHICLE WAS DOING 40+ IN A 25 AND FLEW OVER A HILL AND ALMOST HIT ME. WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE TO GET OUT OF HIS WAY, THIS IS WHEN I NOTICED THE PROBLEM, I SLAMMED THE GAS AND DIDN'T MOVE UNTIL A LITERAL SECOND LATER, LUCKILY HE SLAMMED HIS BRAKES AND NOTHING HAPPENED. REASON UNKNOWN, HOWEVER AFTER EXPERIMENTING IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT SOME MORE, I NOTICED THAT IT ONLY REALLY...
MY 2014 FUSION IS PERIODICALLY OVERHEATING. AFTER TAKING IT TO 2 DIFFERENT MECHANICS & NEITHER ONE BEING ABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT IS CAUSING IT I FOUND RECALL #17S09 INVOLVING THE SAME YR, MODEL & ASSEMBLY PLANT AS MY VEHICLE BUT ONLY INCLUDING 1.6L GTDI ENGINES. MY VEHICLE HAS A 1.5L GTDI & I BELIEVE IS BEING AFFECTED BY THE SAME ISSUE AS THE 1.6L MODELS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED.

THIS CAR JUST FELL APART AT 130000 MILES. THE PURGE VALVE FAILED 3 TIMES. THE ABS SPEED SENSOR PIGTAIL FAILED. THE ENTIRE PCM UNIT BOARD SHORTED UN REPAIRABLE. THE MAP SENSOR FAILED. FORD HAS CHARGED ME 3 TIMES FOR DIAGNOSIS AS FAILURES WERE LESS THEN 4 DAYS APART SO TOWED BACK EACH TIME. A PCM COMPLETE FAILURE ON A CAR NOT EVEN 4 YEARS OLD WITH ONLY 130000 MILES IS AN ISSUE AS THEY WANT AROUND $1000 FOR REPLACEMENT WHEN IT SHOULD NOT BE FAILING. ADD IN ALL THE PREVIOUS RECALLS THIS CAR HAS BEEN A LEMON FROM THE START. I AM A LONG TIME FORD BUYER BUT THIS HAS SOURED ME. THE ABS PIG TAIL TRIGGERED ALL SAFETY LIGHTS DROPS POWER STEERING AND POOR BRAKING.

WHEN TURNING ON THE CAR AND ACTUALLY TAKING OFF DRIVING THE CAR WILL STOP/ SHUT OFF ALL BY ITSELF AND I HAVE TO RESTART IT, WHILE DRIVING. THE STEERING WHEEL WILL PULL OR JERK WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE HAD MY CAR LOOKED AT TWICE. CHANGED THE BATTERY AND STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY IT DOES IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. MY FORD FUSION (2014) ENGINE SHUTS OFF. THE SCENARIO IS THAT AFTER DRIVING IT ON MY COMMUTE (40 MILES / 1 HOUR DRIVING) AND THEN STOPPING QUICKLY TO GRAB FOOD, WHEN I LEAVE THE PARKING LOT IT WILL SHUT DOWN. I PULL OVER AND THEN START IT BACK UP AND DRIVE AWAY. IT HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES.

WHILE DRIVING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. DROVE DIRECTLY TO DEALER. AFTER DIAGNOSES THEY INFORMED THAT IT HAD A CRACKED BLOCK ON #4 CYLINDER. QUOTED A COMPLETE MOTOR CHANGE.
I GOT MY CAR SERVICES AT 41094. THEY INSPECTED NOTHING WAS FOUND CRITICAL AT THAT TIME. THEN SUDDENLY ONE DAY DURING DRIVING ON THE STREET AT ABOUT 35 MPH THE ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON (MILAGE ~45480). I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING SOME ACCELERATION LAG ISSUES LATELY BUT THOSE WILL COME AND GO, THE CAR WILL TAKE LONGER TIME TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED. SO, I DROPPED IT OFF TO THE DEALER. THEY HAVE FOUND THAT THE TURBO CONNECTOR AND THE TURBOCHARGER WAS FULL OF OIL. THIS INDEED IS COVERED UNDER THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. SO, THEY REPLACED THE TURBO CHARGER. I HAVE RECEIVED MY CAR BACK WITH THE REPLACED TURBO CHARGER AND I DON'T EXPERIENCE THE ACCELERATION LAG ANYMORE. MY COMPLAINT: I THINK THIS DOES EFFECT THE SAFETY BECAUSE WHILE ENTERING THE FREEWAY YOU NEED TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE AND IF IT DOESN'T HAPPEN IN A TIMELY MANNER...
HAD ISSUE WITH THE WATER PUMP GOING OUT - RECEIVED A QUICK COMPUTER WARNING STATING THAT THE CAR OVERHEATED; THEN ANOTHER COMPUTER WARNING LETTING ME KNOW THE CAR WOULD SWITCHED TO A VERY VERY LOW POWER-HAD NO WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, AFTER FUELING THE FUEL TANK AND ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED EACH TIME FUEL WAS PLACED IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE FORD MURFREESBORO DEALER IN TENNESSEE WHERE AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V793000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE PARTS HAD BEEN UNAVAILABLE FOR MONTHS CONCERNING THE RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS TO CHECK TO VERIFY THE EXTENDED SERVICE CAMPAIGN BECAUSE THE DEALER MADE NO MENTION. OUR 2014 FORD FUSION HAS 81415.5 MILES AND LAST NIGHT WE LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING, THE ACCELERATOR WAS UNRESPONSIVE AND THE ENGINE WAS IDLING REAL ROUGH. SO WE GOT IT HOME AND INTO OUR GARAGE NOW THE CAR WHEN TRYING TO START IT JUST SPUTTERS AND DIES. FORD SAID HO WELL, ITS YOUR PROBLEM.

REPEATED INSTANCES OF THE VEHICLES EITHER STALLING IN MOTION OR ROUGH START AND STALLING IN PLACE
I BOUGHT A USED 2014 FORD FUSION FROM OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WITH 34,000 MILES ON IT, ONE OWNER, NO HISTORY OF ANY ISSUES. AS SOON AS I DROVE OFF THE LOT I COULD FEEL A HARD SHIFT BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD AND THE ENGINE REVS UP TO 4500 BEFORE FALLING BACK DOWN TO AROUND 2000. THEN IT'S WORSE GOING FROM 3RD TO 2ND WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE CAR JOLTS FORWARD AND THE ENGINE REVS HIGH AS YOU APPLY THE BRAKES. I'VE HAD THE CAR FOR 3 DAYS NOW AND IT HAS THE WORST TRANSMISSION I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. IT'S A VERY UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVE AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT WHEN I KNOW MY CAR IS GOING TO SHIFT SO HARD THAT THE WHOLE JERKS FORWARD. I'VE NEVER BEEN MORE UNHAPPY WITH A CAR IN MY LIFE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY 2014 FUSION CUT OFF. A WARNING INDICATOR POPPED UP THAT SAID "TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK". WE HAD TO COAST OFF TO THE SHOULDER, FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO CARS IN THE LANE WE HAD TO CROSS TO GET TO THE SHOULDER. LATER TODAY (THE SAME DAY) IT HAPPENED A SECOND TIME. THE CAR LOSES ALL POWER. WE WERE DRIVING PAST THE DEALERSHIP WE USE, SO WE LEFT THE CAR WITH THEM TO BE FIXED AND HAVE THE OIL CHANGED. WE WILL BE WAITING FOR THE OUTCOME THE FIRST OF THE WEEK,BUT FELT IT NECESSARY TO REPORT THIS SINCE OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE.
2014 FORD FUSION TITANIUM 2.0 TURBO 5/29/16 COMING OFF FREEWAY @ 70MPH WENT TO APPLY BRAKES AND PEDAL WAS HARD , UNABLE TO SLOW DOWN ON LOOP. I COULD HAVE CRASHED AND DIED DUE TO THIS FAILURE. FINALLY PUSHED PEDAL WITH A LOT OF EFFORT AND ABS KICKED IN TO SLOW ME DOWN BEFORE THE STOP SIGN. TOOK TO DEALER ON 5/30/16, DIAGNOSIS WAS VACUUM PUMP FAILURE, NEW PART WAS ORDERED. 7/5/16 GOT A CALL FROM DEALER SHOP MANAGER WHO BASICALLY SAID THE PART WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THERE WERE METAL SHAVINGS IN THE MOTOR BEHIND WHERE THE PUMP SITS, CLAIMING DIRTY OIL CAUSED PREMATURE ENGINE WEAR. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO VIEW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT. I COULD TELL BY SPINNING THE PUMP THAT THE BEARINGS HAD FAILED, MORE THAN LIKELY DISINTEGRATED AND THE SHAVINGS WERE SITTING INSIDE MY ENGINE. THE MANAGER ASKED THE...

THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY REPAIR CENTER. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE IF THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BASED ON THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V597000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS) AND 15V246000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,327.
I WAS DRIVING AROUND WHEN ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE CAR LOST POWER TO THE ENGINE AND THERE WERE NO RPMS AND PRESSING GAS PEDAL DID NOT HELP. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE POWER BACK IN THE ENGINE WAS TO PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL THEN BACK IN DRIVE AT WHICH POINT THE CAR STUTTERED BUT AT LEAST I REGAINED POWER TO ACCELERATOR. THIS WAS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS AS IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEED AND THE CAR WAS NO LONGER IN MY CONTROL
BATTERY WAS INITIALLY NOT TAKING A CHARGE, THEY SAID IT WAS A DEFECTIVE MODULE AND REPLACED BOTH THE MODULE AND THE REAR BACK UP CAMERA WHICH THEY SAID WAS DRAINING THE BATTERY. IN THIS CASE THEY HAD THE CAR FOR 2 1/2 WEEKS BEFORE RETURNING IT TO ME .. ABOUT 4 DAYS AFTER I GOT IT BACK THE CAR STARTED SHUDDERING DURING A REVERESE POSITION IN A PARKING LOT AND DIED.. IT STARTED RIGHT UP AGAIN.. THE NEXT DAY IT LOST ALL ACCELERATION AT A LOWER SPEED IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, ONCE AGAIN IT DIED BUT STARTED RIGHT UP AGAIN. IT DID THIS TWO MORE TIMES ONCE ON THE FREEWAY THE OTHER TIME DOWN THE STREET FROM MY HOME. FORD HAS HAD THE CAR FOR 5 DAYS (SINCE 2/19/2016) NOW AND SAYS THERE IS NO CODES OR HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM..
WETHER THE CAR IS COLD OR WARM, EVERYTIME I DRIVE, I GET A HARDSHIFT BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR. ALSO WHEN I MAKE A STOP AND TRY TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR JERKS FROM ON THE 1ST GEAR. WHEN I'M GOING ON A DOWNHILL AND LET GO OF THE GAS PEDAL AND SLOWLY START BRAKING, THE WOULD GO FROM 2,000 RPM TO 5,000 RPM WHILE I HAVE MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. WHEN I GO TO ANY GAS STATION I CAN'T LEAVE THE PUMP ON AUTO BECAUSE IT WOULD STOP PUMPING, SO I HAVE TO DO IT MANUALLY, IN ORDER TO GET A FULL TANK.
I HAVE STARTED MY CAR AFTER BEING IN A STORE FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES. THE CAR STARTED AND I PLACED IN REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF A SPACE AND THEN PLACED INTO DRIVE. WITHIN A YARD OR TWO THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED. IT THEN GAVE A MESSAGE TO PRESS BRAKE TO START. THIS HAS HAPPENED FIVE TIMES IN THE LAST FEW DAYS. THE DEALER SAID THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING UNLESS THEY CAN EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM. IF I START DRIVING THIS CAR AGAIN AND GET INTO AN ACCIDENT THEN FORD WILL BE AT FAULT BECAUSE THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE.

I DRIVE A 2014 FORD FUSION SE WITH A 1.6L ECOBOOST AND A 6 SPD MANUAL TRANSMISSION. IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 40,500 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. UPON REACHING A SPEED OF 35-40 MPH WHILE ACCELERATING (I SHIFT AT 2500 RPM'S) I HEARD TWO CHIMES SIMILAR TO THE CHIMES THE CAR MAKES WHEN I START IT. ONCE THE CHIMES FINISHED SOUNDING MY INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT BLACK EXCEPT FOR THE NEEDLES WHICH ALL CAME TO A REST INTO THE "OFF" POSITION". THEY STILL REMAINED LIT. I HAD NO DASHBOARD LIGHTS. MY CAR LOST POWER AT THE SAME TIME AND THE STEERING BECAME SLIGHTLY HARDER THAN NORMAL. THERE WAS A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF THROTTLE RESPONSE AND THEN NO RESPONSE. I WAS ABLE TO COAST ONTO A SIDE STREET WHERE THE CAR COMPLETELY WENT DEAD BY THE TIME I CAME TO A STOP. BEFORE COMING TO A STOP MY BRAKE PEDAL...
WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE STALLED UNEXPECTEDLY. SEVERAL HOURS LATER, WHILE PARKED AND INDLING WITH THE ENGIINE ON, IT STALLED AGAIN AFTER APPEARING TO HAVE TROUBLE AT THE LOW IDLE SPEED.

I AVOIDED ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT CUT ME OFF ON THE EXPRESSWAY BY HONKING THE HORN, SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES AND QUICKLY CHANGING LANES. THIS VEHICLE HAS A PROXIMITY STARTING SYSTEM. NO INSERTION OF A KEY IS NEEDED TO START THE CAR. THE CAR IS SUPPOSED TO RECOGNIZE THE ELECTRONIC KEY TO YOUR VEHICLE.
