TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MERGE THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT DURING THE INCIDENT THE CHECK ENGINE AND SERVICE SENSOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER REPLACED A COMPUTER, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. LATER, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE SPEED SUDDENLY DECELERATED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

ANY LITTLE BIT OF DIRT I DRIVE YET GETS INTO THE SEAL OF THE GAS TANK SO MY ENGINE LIGHT POPS ON AND STATES THERE IS SOME SORT OF LEAK IN THE SYSTEM. WE TOOK IT TO FORD, WHERE THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. HOWEVER, ONLY A WEEK LATER THE CAR IS BACK TO THE SAME THROTTLE BODY PART PROBLEM. ON SATURDAY, 6/28/14 AT AROUND 11:40PM THE CAR TURNS OFF MID-DRIVE RIGHT BEFORE I CROSS OVER A MAJOR INTERSECTION, RT 130 AND RT 30 IN COLLINGSWOOD, NJ AREA.
