The drivers side door latch will not latch, the door will swing open because the latch is defective. I have seen that this is a common issue with this vehicle and has been recalled on other 2012 ford fiestas but mine has not been.
The door latches have a safety recall and needs to be fixed or observed to ensure proper road safety. In addition I cannot move onto my vehicle registration renewal until this recall is repaired. I do not see any visible malfunction but the doors do have to slam shut to ensure they are properly closed. No individuals have been put at risk. The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or service center, nor inspected by any party. No warning signals, signs or lights appeared on the car telling me about the particular issue or area with issue.
My car has had transmission issues since I purchased the car, and the problems has gotten worse and now the car is not drivable. I have purchased parts after parts and still the problem. I have reached out to the company numerous times, and reached out to programs. Iam stuck without a car now.What do I need to do
While driving along the transmission slipped into neutral and would not move forward.Could have been hit from behind.
Incident= on February 15, 2023 While vehicle is in drive, upon stopping going up a slight hill, the vehicle started rolling backwards.I did not do anything except slow down/stop. It failed to engage in any gear after it started sliding back, including reverse to try to get me out of traffic ( the gear shifter was just sliding without resistance) except park for almost 15 minutes. My mother and my dog were in the car with me at this time. We were also in the left lane of traffic/ during moderate traffic. The car is an automatic. The vehicle finally engaged in low gear and I was able to drive 10mph to get home. Mechanic, the next morning, stated that my transmission is slipping/not engaging properly. 2012 ford fiesta check engine light on codes reading o2 sensors, catalytic intake, misfires, fuel injection, etc. I have had my fiesta at 3 mechanics all very known for there reliability all diagnosing it different issue recommending me to go to dealership which I was turned away because the recalls for the vehicle isn’t an issue for any of the possible diagnostics. Single mother of 3 now no vehicle, no money and no way of providing without transportation. Less than 150,000 Miles owned less than two years and the amount of money put into the vehicle ford should be ashamed. The door is not closing or locking I want to open the door and get groceries down and then when I went to close it it wouldn’t close the latch on it is not working
The transmission is slipping and jerking. I can't change gears without a issue and the car stops. The engine revs even when I am not going fast.the transmission says it is overheating and I got my fan fixed months ago and had done it before but seemed to repair itself so I thought.
started and moved the gear lever from "P" mode to "D" mode to move the vehicle forward. But couldn't move the vehicle. So tried to changed the gear mode and move but couldn't do. Then switched off the engine and tried to switch on. But couldn't do it. Tried several times and started the vehicle but couldn't move the vehicle, because the gear lever moved only physically. The "Check engine" light was lit all the time on the dash board. We had to tow the vehicle to the dealership since we couldn't drive the vehicle.

I JUST BOUGHT A 2012 FORD FIESTA FROM A DEALERSHIP BACK IN AUGUST. I SEARCHED THE WEBSITE, ONCE THE ISSUE CAME TO SURFACE, AND IT IS PART OF A RECALL. THE RECALL IS THE EXACT ISSUE THAT STARTED ON MY CAR LAST NIGHT. THE DOOR DOESN'T CLOSE AT ALL/THE LATCH DOESN'T WORK. I HAVE BEEN PAYING MONTHY PAYMENTS ON THIS CAR AND NOW I NEED SOME INFORMATION ON HOW TO GET MY CAR FIXED.

I TEST DROVE IT AND THOUGHT IT SOUNDED A LITTLE LOUD BUT DIDN'T REALLY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CARS SO I IGNORED IT AND TOLD THE SALESMAN I WANTED TO START THE PURCHASE PROCESS. LEFT PASSENGER DOOR LATCH POPPED OPEN WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED ALL THE RECALL DOOR LATCHES. A YEAR LATER THE RIGHT BACK PASSENGER DOOR LATCH DID THE SAME THING. IT WAS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY THAT WAS ABOUT TO EXPIRE. TWO DAYS AGO, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HAS POPPED. IT IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY, SO IT IS AN UNEXPECTED OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE COMBINED WITH A RENTAL WHILE MY CAR IS IN THE SHOP. SO NOW, THREE OUT OF FOUR REPLACED RECALL PARTS HAVE MALFUNCTIONED. SO IF THE RECALL REPLACEMENTS ARE NOT WORKING, HOW OFTEN AM I GOING TO BE IN THE SHOP WITH UNRELIABLE RECALL REPLACEMENTS?
THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AND HESITATES ALL THE TIME. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUES DUE TO WHEN ACCELERATING TO MOVE INTO TRAFFIC IT SHUDDERS AND HESITATES AND WON'T ACCELERATE WHILE DOING THIS. I WAS ALMOST HIT SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO THIS ISSUE. MY FORD FIESTA 2012 WAS PART OF RECALL 15S16 FOR LATCH FAILURE. ON 9/15/2018 MY LEFT REAR LATCH FAILED WHILE DRIVING. FORD IS CLAIMING THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER RECALL, BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP FIXED THE PROBLEM BEFORE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THAT EITHER THE RECALL WAS NOT PERFORMED AS STATED OR IT WAS FIXED WITH DEFECTIVE PARTS. FORD AT THIS TIME IS UNWILLING TO ADDRESS THIS SAFETY ISSUE AND SATISFY THE RECALL.
WHEN STARTING TO ACCELERATE, THERE IS NO POWER. THE TRANSMISSION THEN KICKS BACK AND IT GOES FLYING OVER 4000 RPMS BEFORE IT WILL SHIFT. WHILE DRIVING, IT WILL RANDOMLY GIVE A SLIGHT KICK AND LOSE POWER, DESPITE NOT INCREASING OR DECREASING PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL. THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT REGARDING THIS, I THEN GOT IT "FIXED" UNDER WARRANTY (TOTAL REPLACEMENT OF THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY) BUT THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM, AND THEY WILL NOT RETURN MY CALLS OR EMAILS. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY EITHER. I PURCHASED A FORD FIESTA THAT HAS A FACTORY DEFECTED TRANSMISSION, FORD REFUSES TO RECALL ALL VEHICLES WITH THIS FAULTY DESIGNED TRANSMISSION BUT ONLY TO EXTEND A WARRANTY UNTIL 100K . RADIO SPEAKERS STARTED CUTTING OUT AND MAKING POPPING/CRACKLING NOISES FOR WEEKS, EVEN IF THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF OR IF THE VOLUME WAS TURNED DOWN, THEN THE RADIO DIED COMPLETELY. I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. DEALERSHIP SAID I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE RADIO FOR $400, BUT APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE IN THESE CARS.
I WAS DRIVING ON HWY 301 AND WATER COOLANT LIGHT CAME ON. I STOPPED A FEW FEET AT FIRST STATION. WATER WAS POURING OUT MY RADIATOR. I GOT A TOW AND TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAID MINE WAS THIRD CAR IN A WEEK THIS HAPPENED TO IN STATESBORO GA AREA. PLASTIC FAN BROKE WENT THRU RADIATOR AND BLOWED THE HEAD GASKET. REPAIR MAN SAID PROBABLY IN 3 SECONDS FLAT. TWO WEEKS BEFORE HAD OIL CHANGES AND DAY OF EMERGENCY CHECKED ALL WATER AND OIL BEFORE LEAVING HOME. I AM A WIDOW AND THIS IS GONE COST ME AROUND 2,000 AND I AM IN BANKRUPTCY. I JUST WONDER IF THIS IS A RECALL OR SHOULD BED. VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN PARK AND COULD NOT BE SHIFTED INTO OTHER GEARS. THIS OCCURRED AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND SHIFTING INTO PARK. ONCE IN PARK IT COULD NOT BE SHIFTED TO ANY OTHER GEAR. THE CAR COULD BE STARTED AND TURNED OFF WHILE IN PARK. ALL OTHER ASPECTS OF THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO BE OKAY. COULD BE AN ISSUE WITH THE INTERLOCK MECHANISM, BUT NEEDED A NEW SHIFTER ASSEMBLY.

I RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT A RECALL ON FORD FIESTA DOOR LATCHES IN JUNE 2015, STATING THAT MORE INFORMATION WOULD BE SEND WHEN SUFFICIENT PARTS FOR REPLACEMENT WERE SENT TO ALL FORD DEALERSHIPS AND THAT IF I EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM THAT I SHOULD REPORT TO A DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY. SOON AFTER RECEIVING THAT LETTER MY BACK PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. I WENT TO CAPITAL FORD IN RALEIGH NC TO HAVE THE LATCH REPAIRED. OVER THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS, MAYBE A YEAR, I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL NOTICES TO CONTACT MY DEALER ABOUT A SAFETY RECALL OF THE PAWL SPRING TAB INSIDE ONE OR MORE OF THE SIDE DOOR LATCHES. TROUBLE WITH TRANSMISSION MAKING THE CAR SHAKE, JERK BUCK AND DIFFICULT TO STOP. TAKEN TO FORD THREE TIMES THIS YEAR AND TWICE IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS AND THE SAME TRANSMISSION LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON WHICH DISABLES THE ENTIRE VEHICLE.
CAR JERKS AND SHUDDERS UNCONTROLLABLY. LURCHES INTO INTERSECTIONS AFTER COMING TO A STOP WHEN CLUTCH FAILS TO DISENGAGE. UNPREDICTABLE SPEED. DOES NOT ACCELERATE ONTO FREEWAY. JERKS VIOLENTLY WHEN TAKING FOOT ON OR OFF GAS PEDAL. DANGEROUS AND TERRIFYING. REPLACEMENT CLUTCH HAS BEEN ORDERED BY DEALERSHIP AND IS BACKORDERED 3 MONTHS. THEY MUST BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.
RIGHT SIDE REAR DOOR WILL NOT SHUT. DOES NOT LATCH. CAR WAS PARKED AND LOCKED AND WHEN OPENED FOR A PASSENGER TO ENTER THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE.
TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH HAS MAJOR DESIGN FLAWS. WE HAVE HAD TO HAVE THIS REPRGRAMMED TWICE AND THE CLUTCH HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AS WELL. IS GOING BACK IN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME ISSUE, FOR WHAT WILL NOW BE THE 4TH TIME, TO POTENTIALLY HAVE ANOTHER CLUTCH REPLACED. THE VECHICLE "SPUTTERS" AND JERKS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE PURCHASE OF THE CAR, BUT MOST RECENTLY 4/21/2016.
I PURCHASED A 2012 FORD FIESTA LAST WEEKEND AND NOTICED THE DAY AFTER THAT AS I DROVE, THE FRONT OF THE CAR WOULD RATTLE. THEN I NOTICED WHEN I WOULD STOP AND GO THE CAR WOULD TAKE AWHILE TO ACCELERATE. I REGISTERED THE CAR ON SYNC (ASSOCIATED BY FORD) AND IT INDICATED 2 ITEMS WERE FAULTY. MADE AN APT WITH FORD WHO WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. ON THE WAY TO DROP OFF THE CAR AFTER I MADE A STOP, I ACCELERATED IT WENT BUT THEN SUDDENLY CAME TO AN ALMOST COMPLETE STOP ON ITS OWN LUCKILY THEN CAUGHT AND ACCELERATED, IF SOMEONE HAD BEEN BEHIND ME I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. FORD CHARGED ME $105 TO RUN DIAGNOSTICS THEN SAID THAT IT HAD TO HIT 250 WITH THE SHUDDERING AND MY CAR WAS ONLY AT 180, AFTER PUSHING THE SERVICE GUY WE GOT HIM TO ADMIT HE KNEW IT...
I PURCHASED A 2012 FORD FIESTA AUTOMATIC LITERALLY 3 DAYS AGO. AFTER ONLY 3 SHORT DAYS OF DRIVING IT, IT SAYS "TRANSMISSION SERVICE NOW", AND ALSO HAS SHUTTERING IN ACCELERATION AND DELAY IN ACCELERATION. IT FRIGHTENS ME OFTEN WHEN I AM PULLING OUT, TURNING OR AT A STOP AND GO. WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE IT WILL SHUTTER THEN RECEIVE A HUGE BURST OF SPEED. WHICH WILL THEN CAUSE ME TO SWERVE ALMOST LOSING CONTROL OR WILL CAUSE ME TO ALMOST REAR END THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME.
APM CONTROL MODULE ATTACHED TO RADIO WAS EXPLAINED TO ME BY BENNIE AT JOHN BLEAKLEY FORD LITHIA SPRINGS GA.. RADIO WAS MAKING A LOUD STATIC NOISE WOULD EVEN MAKE IT WITH THE CAR IGNITION TURNED OFF. EVEN SETTING OVERNIGHT WOULD BE START MAKING THIS LOUD NOISE FOR NO REASON.B ENNIE TOLD ME THIS MODULE CONTROLED SEVER THINGS ON THIS VEHICLE AND COULD POSSIBLY PUT ME ON THE ROAD SIDE. I TRAVEL ALOT. THIS NOISE CAN NOT BE CONTROLED BY THE ON/ OFF OR VOLUME CONTROL. JOHN BLEAKLEY REPLACED SO CALLED MODULE IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. THEY SAID THAT THE PART THEY PUT ON WAS A BAD PART AND WOULD REORDER ANOTHER ONE. STILL WAITING 3 WEEKS LATER GOING ON 4 FOR PART TO COME IN TO REPLACE. AND OF COURSE I HAVE ALREADY PAID MY 500.00 PLUS DOLLARS FOR REPAIR. CAN YOU HELP ME OR ADVISE ME WHY...

I BOUGHT MY FIESTA LAST YEAR IN MARCH. SINCE THE DAY I GOT THE CAR IT HAS VIOLENTLY SHAKEN AND SHUDDERED WHEN PRESSING THE GAS AND MOVING THE CAR FORWARD. IT MAKES A HORRIBLE GRINDING NOISE. IT'S ALMOST AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT BUT I'VE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT I BOUGHT IT FROM THAT IT'S NOT THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT "IT'S SUPPOSED TO SOUND LIKE THAT." I DON'T THINK SO AND AFTER READING ALL OF THE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER DRIVERS, I'M STARTING TO GET FRUSTRATED. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A SERIOUS ISSUE AND I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT CORRECTED. MY CAR HAD SOMEWHAT STALLED SEVERAL TIMES IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC BOTH IN THE CITY AND ON THE HIGHWAY AND I FEAR FOR MY SAFETY AND FEAR FOR MYSELF FINANCIALLY IF THIS VEHICLE DIES BEFORE IT EVEN TURNS 5 YEARS OLD.

RECALL--IT MAY BE POSSIBLE FOR THE PAWL SPRING TAB INSIDE ONE OR MORE OF THE SIDE DOOR LATCHES TO BREAK. THIS CONDITION WILL TYPICALLY PREVENT THE DOOR FROM LATCHING. IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS, WHERE THE DOOR IS ABLE TO BE CLOSED, THE DOOR MAY UNLATCH WHILE DRIVING, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY. WE HAD THE RECALL REPAIRS DONE OUR VEHICLE AND WAS CHARGED $22 TOWARD THE RENTAL OF CAR BECAUSE REPAIRS COULD NOT BE DONE IN HALF A DAY. THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE TO BE DONE WITH NO CHARGE TO US BUT BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP (DICK SMITH FORD, RAYTOWN, MO) DID NOT COVER ALL RENTAL CHARGES WE HAD TO PAY $22 BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T GET REPAIRS DONE WITHIN ONE DAY.
