Vehicle was parked on a hill. At the time the vehicle was pulling a light weight trailer (empty). The vehicle was in park when the engine was shutoff. Owner went inside the house, came back out 5 minutes later to find the vehicle had rolled unattended backwards causing the trailer to jack knife. The result was damage to the truck and trailer. This was very lucky considering another vehicle could have come over the hill and hit the truck and trailer and people could have been injured. This is the third instance of this truck rolling unattended. I have contacted Ford, written complaints. A recall was released that fixes a known transmission issue with near VIN numbers but it does not effect this vehicle. Please help.

I have a 2017 F250 super duty. It downshifts from 5th to 4th so hard that it has locked the rear tires up for a brief second. Twice I have had cars behind me swerve. I spoke with my local dealership and they informed me that this is a common issue with these trucks normally caused by the transmission drum, valve body and/or solenoids. There were no warnings before this started and it's worse when the transmission is cold. As the transmission gets hotter the issue seems to get better but will suddenly hard downshift without warning.

Driving the vehicle and the transmission jerks really hard shifts from 6th gear to 1st gear. This happened while I was driving it. It loses power and won't go the check manual wrench pops up and then the check engine light comes in. I was doing 50mph when this happened for the second time. First time I was doing 45mph. The dealership I had gotten it from worked on the truck and replaced the computer and it still popped up the same code. Hadn't had the truck 3 weeks when the first incident happened. Then they had it for 3monhs and got it back saying it was fixed and it done it again on my way home from work. The transmission jumps gears while driving without warning or anything. Put my life and others in harm.

Transmission down shifting while driving. Jumps from 6th gear to 1st gear. Barely got it to the pull off which was in a curve. Put my life and my passenger life in danger because we couldn't see around the curve which the pull over was on the other side of the road.

The engine light activated on the dash randomly while driving. My truck was experiencing loss of power and for the next few days and reduced fuel mileage. I checked the engine code and learned it is a common error with 2017 Ford Super Dutys with the 6.7L diesel engine. The code is “DTC P203B”, sometimes indicated as P203B00 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a manufacturer-specific fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the air/fuel mixture causing reductant level sensor circuit range/performance. I believe this error in manufacturing is a safety risk because it is common within these trucks and can leave motorists stranded or potentially disable the vehicle in the roadway causing a traffic hazard.
