MY 2017 F-50 60,000 MILES, EXPERIENCES A SEVERE WOBBLE IN THE STEERING, NOTICEABLE WHEN THE VEHICLE ENCOUNTERS A SMALL BUMP OR SMALL DEFORMITY IN THE ROAD ALSO WHEN ACCELERATING ABOVE 70 MPH. THE VEHICLE IS WELL MAINTAINED AND SERVICED ON SCHEDULE. HAVE EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM WITH AND WITHOUT TOWING A TRAILER. THE WOBBLE BECOMES EXTREME TO THE POINT OF LOOSING CONTROL SUDDENLY DECELERATING CAUSES THE WOBBLE TO STOP AND REGAIN CONTROL. *TR
DEATH WOBBLE - DRIVING WITH OR WITHOUT CRUISE CONTROL, WITHIN 65 AND 70 MPH, A SLIGHT BUMP IN THE ROAD WILL CAUSE THE FRONT SUSPENSION, BOTH WHEELS, TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY UNTIL THE SPEED IS REDUCED TO BELOW 35 MPH.
HAD THE "DEATH WOBBLE". CRUISING AT 70 MPH AND HIT A PATCH OF ROUGH ROAD. TRUCK STARTED SHAKING AND WOULDNT STOP UNTIL I REDUCED THE SPEED TO 35 (ON A HWY). I THOUGHT I HAD A FLAT TIRE IT WAS SO BAD.
DEATH WOBBLE. STEERING SHAKES ALMOST UNCONTROLLABLY AFTER HITTING A BUMP IN THE HIGHWAY. HAPPENS MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 60 MPH. WHEEL BALANCING AND ALIGNMENT DID NOT MAKE IMPROVEMENTS. DEALER FOUND NO ISSUES AND COULD NOT REPLICATE THE SHAKING.
WHEN I GET A LOT OF SHACKING FROM MY TRUCK WIN DRIVING AND SHACKING WIN THE ROAD HAS BUMPS AND SMALL POT HOLES
WHILE DRIVING AROUND 70+ MPH AND MOVING OVER SMALL BUMPS IN THE ROAD WHETHER BE A BRIDGE TRANSITION OR SMALL POT HOLE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES VIOLENTLY ONLY GOES AWAY AFTER SLOWING DOWN TO BELOW 60
MY FORD F-250 EXPERIENCED A SEVERE "DEATH WOBBLE" ON 3 OCCASIONS CAUSING THE NEED TO SLOW DOWN FROM 65 MPH TO 25 MPH ON THE FREEWAY DURING NORMAL TRAFFIC. ON ONE OCCASION, THE SHAKING WAS SO BAD IT WENT TO THE ADJACENT DRIVING LANE WHILE ON AN ON-RAMP AND WAS COMPLETELY UNCONTROLLABLE. THE VEHICLE IS AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP NOW AND HAVING THE STEERING SHOCK REPLACED BUT THE SERVICE REP STATED THEY ARE JUST TRYING THIS AS A SOLUTION BUT DO NOT KNOW THE ROOT CAUSE. THEY ARE ALSO REQUESTING THAT I PAY FOR AN ALIGNMENT AS ANOTHER POSSIBLE SOLUTION. THE TRUCK HAS ROUGHLY 20K MILES ON IT AND IS COMPLETELY STOCK (LESS A CAMPER SHELL). I DO NOT FEEL SAFE PUTTING MY 2 YEAR OLD, 7 YEAR OLD, OR WIFE IN A VERY EXPENSIVE VEHICLE WHILE HAVING TO WORRY IF THE TRUCK WILL CAUSE A WRECK DUE TO A...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD F-250. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS ON A CLEAR ROAD SURFACE, THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY OUT OF CONTROL. AS A RESULT, THE STEERING COLUMN SHOOK VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL NEEDED TO BE HELD WITH EXTREME FORCE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE IN ITS LANE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED ON A DAILY BASIS AND THE SHAKING FAILURE WORSENED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN VEHICLES COMES ACROSS CHATTER IN ROUGH ROADS OR AT BRIDGES VEHICLES STEERING VIOLENTLY SHAKES. VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. TO REGAIN CONTROL BY LIGHTLY HITTING THE BRAKE TO REDUCE SPEED TO ABOUT 20 MILES PER HOUR SO VEHICLE STOPS SHAKING. I COULD TAKE A VIDEO OF IT IF YOU LIKE JUST CONTACT ME.
VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN IT ENCOUNTERS NOT SMOOTH HIGHWAY CONDITIONS SUCH AS SMALL BUMPS, CHATTER, OR ELEVATION CHANGES AT BRIDGES.
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 30 MPH ON MOUNTAIN ROAD AT CADE'S COVE TN. THE ENGINE SHUT OFF , NO INDICATION BEFORE HAND. ALL SMALL ICON SHOWED ON DASH INCLUDING BATTERY. JUST MADE IT TO THE OTHER SIDE OF ROAD PULL OFF AREA OR OTHER WISE I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN CENTER OF ROAD. NO POWER STEERING. TURNER KEY OFF AND WAITED ABOUT 1 MINUTE. TURNED KEY ON AND ENGINE STARTED UP. WAS ABLE TO RETURN TO OUR CAMPGROUND. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY / ACCIDENT AS THIS MOUNTAIN ROAD IS VERY NARROW AND MANY TURNS GOING BACK TO GATLINBURG TN. FROM CADE'S COVE.
