THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER STARTED BY FLASHING ALL LIGHTS TO STAYING ON. THEN THE SPEED CONTROLS, SPEEDOMETER, RPM GAUGE, AND HEAT SENSOR WOULD NOT WORK. ON TOP OF ALL THIS. THE BRAKES BEGAN TO MAKE A CLICKING NOISE WHEN THIS ISSUE WOULD HAPPEN AND THE BRAKES WOULD ACT ROUGH. NO MECHANIC COULD FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM UNTIL IT WAS TO LATE. THIS NEEDS TO BE BETTER KNOWN AND BETTER MANAGED.
IT'S STALLING IN MOTION OR SUDDENLY SURGING FORWARD WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, POSING A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS, OTHER MOTORISTS AND PEDESTRIANS. INTERMITTENT VEHICLE STALLS AND SURGES AS THEY ENTER TRAFFIC FROM A STOPPED POSITION OR WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 62 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STOPPED, TURNED OFF, AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE FOR IT TO OPERATE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
DRIVING ON STREET AND ENGINE SHUT DOWN. RESTARTED ENGINE AND COULD NOT ACCELERATE TO MORE THAN 20 MPH. I PULLED OFF OF STREET AND SHUT ENGINE OFF FOR ABOUT A MINUTE. RESTARTED ENGINE AND EVERY THING WORKED FINE EXCEPT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT WORK.
THE THROTTLE BODY OF MY FORD ESCAPE 2011 SEEMS TO BE MALFUNCTIONING, SINCE IT HAS A DRIVE BY WIRE SYSTEM, I WANT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE DEFECTS FORD CARS HAVE BEEN HAVING SURROUNDING ITS THROTTLE FUNCTIONALITY. WHENEVER I AM ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT OR ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR JUMPS FORWARD AND STARTS TO SHAKE, AND THEN SIMPLY DOES NOT ACCELERATE. IT HAPPENS SPORADICALLY, AND AFTER AN INSPECTION FROM A MECHANIC, IT'S SHOWING THAT THE THROTTLE BODY IS MALFUNCTIONING, AND THE CODES SHOWING THAT IT IS SIMULTANEOUSLY OPEN AND CLOSED. IT IS AN ISSUE THAT FORD VEHICLES UP TO 2012 SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN GETTING. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE SINCE 50,000 MILES ON THE CAR OF 2 YEARS AGO, AND IT'S BEEN HAPPENING SPORADICALLY, MAYBE ONCE A MONTH, OR ONCE EVERY 10 MINUTES.

LOST THROTTLE CONTROL, PULLED OVER, TURNED ENGINE OFF, AND RESTARTED TO CORRECT PROBLEM. THIS HAPPENED THREE MORE TIMES OVER FOLLOWING MONTH AT 70MPH ON FREEWAY, 50MPH ON SURFACE STREET AND AN INTERSECTION AT A STOPLIGHT.
