2016 FORD EDGE Unknown Or Other Problems

I want to open a criminal case. A car dealer is reselling this vehicle for 8,500 dollar with odometer of 94,000 approximately. The title say over 240,000 miles. They have clearly tampered with is i have more 10 supporting evidence to show for their fraud. They have dealer license in florida and are operating used car sale here new york city bronx. I called north Carolina DMV where they confirm the milage of vehicles and i have car fax as supporting evidence. I have made complain with FTC and BBB. They should be in jail.

Rear view camera was distorted and didn’t show a vehicle behind me when I backed out of parking spot and made contact with another vehicle.

Coolant leaks into engine. Also leaks into spark plugs causing spark plug misfire. Engine block cracked. Only at 66k miles

ALL Ford Edge vehicles that have the 2.0L engine where the probability of coolant leaking into the cylinders destroying engine and transmission because of the block design should be recalled. Every day I stress over when mine will suddenly leave me stranded or cause an accident or leave me with a major repair bill regardless of how well I do maintenance! My car jerks between 2nd and 3rd or between 20 to 30 mph, and then smooths out which is making me fear that the torque converter is going out! I’m not the ONLY one living in fear of being a victim of Ford’s bad block design that is costing consumers thousands of dollars to repair or replace!

The rear differential is failing. It has been looked at by an independent mechanic. The car has 85,000 miles on it. I understand certain vin numbers were recalled for this issue.

Ever since I purchased my Ford Edge the backup camera flashes off and on while I'm trying to back up and reverse. It does it every single time I try to reverse it either does not show me backing up or will show me backing up in the camera for a second and then flashes off back to the radio or flashes back to nothing. I see that they are recalls regarding the backup camera on newer vehicles. My vehicle is a 2016 Ford Edge and has been messing up for years. Why does the recall not involve the older models?

The oil pan is made of metal and plastic and the plastic warps over time and causes major oil leaks requiring frequent expensive replacement. There are no after market parts, only the plastic. Major oil leaks are hazardous.

Sunroof has spiderweb cracks after purchase.

I was driving on the highway and the steering wheel light with exclamation point came on along with flashing adaptive steering menu, traction control menu and up hill assistance menu came on the dash repeatedly, as I kept driving the steering got worse and I almost had an accident. I had no choice to get off at the next exit and was able to pull into a gas station at the end of the exit. I tried to google from my phone the warnings and saw there was over 86 complaints on the same issue. I turned off the car and waited for about 10 minutes before starting it again hpeing that maybe it would reset itself. When I started my car again, I had no steering. I was forced to be towed over an hour away and over $3500 to fix it

Rattling noise under hood with vibration that occurs when starting vehicle. Check engine light on. Dealership states "this is a know Coolant intrusion issue in 2.0L Ecoboost engines and the whole engine needs to be replaced." Was told I could still drive it even though "it will drive rough." Articles regarding this issue state further engine damage can occur if driven and in severe cases fire. This is a safety issue caused by faulty manufacturing and should be resolved.

Dealership Diag. and found coolant leaking/ intrusion going into #1, cylinder, causing low coolant light to come on in the car, and the car smoke on first start up. Dealership found, this car to have one of the defective ford eco boost motors installed, Dealership recommend new motor, at cost of $7,721.33. When purchased, I bought and paid for the ESP warranty to the cost of $3,281.00 dollars. Technicians stated, FORD is not going to cover the replacements nor any cost. The defective motors, causing the coolant to leak into the motor, subjecting us to more damages and fire. Coolant mixing with the oil. Issues would be for me, the defective motor and cooling system.

The trunk that is automatic will randomly disclose on your head when you’re leaning in to get some thing and it’s happened several times and I’ve reported it and it doesn’t stop if it hit your head it keeps going

Started months ago on the highway, now in the streets too. Press the gas, car goes then suddenly loses power. Going at 60 mph on highway, car suddenly starts to go slow, and pressing the gas doesn't move the car not even a mile higher. Semi trucks begin to honk horns at you. Afraid now to take highway again. Soon as I exit highway, press the gas and the car doesn't want to shift, almost as if it gets stuck. Continue driving on street and when turning, the car doesn't want to go. Ford had it for 3 days but didn't find anything. Have read posts and found one person with same issue that said it's code 2111, having to do with the throttle. So many people with the same issue and no recalls. It's dangerous to drive on highway now.

Rear door latch stuck and door will not close

Took vehicle in for update of SYNC system which worked when I dropped it off. Mechanic called said the system wasn't holding charge. Next day they called said vehicle was ready for pickup. Picked up got in and my SYNC system wouldn't turn on. That includes radio,Bluetooth, navigation, backup camera,USB port anything that system controls doesn't work. No mechanic checks for the APIM to see if it is faulty. Now place is saying I have to pay to fix. Extended warranty doesn't cover says it's upgrade not update, even though Fordpass and SYNC system said there was an update for it. I tried to update system and wouldn't let me, both ways I tried to update. APIM Module. We inquired with Ford about upgrading our Sync system to include navigation. A parts specialist at Livermore Ford indicated the upgrade could be made by adding a new USB hub and upgrading the software. We then noticed the last software update was marked completed in 2003 (on a 2016 model year vehicle). We confirmed the Wifi was connected and tried to initiate an auto software update, but there was no option to do so. We followed the directions per the Ford website for a wifi or manual update, to no avail. The third Ford recommendation is to take it to a dealer. On Jan 16, 2023, I took the vehicle to Sunnyvale Ford. The radio and screen were functioning without any issues. I showed the associate the software page and where it said 2003 was the last update, I showed him there was no "update now" button offered...

Engine malfunction due to engine coolant leaking in to #2 cylinder. Check engine warning light came on intermittently. Car didn’t pass New York State Emissions test. Car can’t be re-registered in NYS without passing Emissions test. Had car towed to Ford Service Center for diagnosis. Ford diagnosis - car engine and assembly needs to be replaced with re-designed long block engine for an estimated repair cost of $6637 plus tax. Ford is not covering engine defect that resulted in engine coolant leaking into #2 cylinder causing misfire and engine check warning light to come on. Due to this design fault, Ford should issue a recall on our 2016 Ford Edge as the car is unsafe to drive. Ford should cover the cost of the engine repair, parts and labor, due to this design fault.

i have had my back windshield implode twice now on my Ford Edge in the last 8 months. Nothing hits the window. First time I was backing out of the driveway and had my back windshield wiper on and it just imploded. Had to go thru the hassle of getting the spoiler removed and the glass company out to fix it. Fine for 8 months until last night. Came home from errands, unloaded car, closed the hatch. Came back out about an hour later and the windshield was imploded again. There is something wrong for this to happen twice in 8 months. I found a recall for the back wiper motor but the recall is for Canada only. There should be a recall in the US also. Moonroof multiple times has failed to close leaving car open on top. Weather moved in and put tarp but need to have it where I can close the moonroof.

On June 30, 2021 I and my husband just arrived home. My husband had been hospitalized 10 days and was still very weak. I was bringing him home and once I was in the driveway I put the car in park and got out and went to him on the passenger side to help him out. I took him inside and got him settled. EVAP purge valve failure

My pano/vista roof cracked randomly. Unsure of how long it was cracked. In researching, it appears this is a common problem with Ford Edge’s and several recalls surrounding my year of vehicle have been enforced upon Ford. From what I have read it appears this is a like situation of some sort of “stress” that cause the roof to fracture. It is now a safety hazard that is expensive to fix.

I was driving from Phoenix Arizona to Tucson Arizona, about 1: 45 min drive, October 23rd, 2021, and all of the sudden the check engine lights turns on, and its getting hot, and the engine shuts down, I lose all power to the Steering , and brakes, now, i am going about 45 in a 75 lane, but people going 80 plus. and we are about 20 miles from home. Vehicle engine light came on and car made loud noise when started. Brought to dealership. 2 issues with car. Coolant leaked into the engine which could cause a fire. Needed a new engine. Flex plate was cracked which could cause the vehicle to stop moving abruptly causing a crash. Flexplate and parts needed to be replaced. Flexplate issue has been recalled in the 2017 Ford Edge. Issues on-line show that this is common in 2015-2018 Ford Edges.

My sunroof literally exploded while I was sitting in a parking lot. Nothing hit the car, I didn't have a collision or fender bender. Literally sitting in the lot I heard a loud 'explosion' and the crack just started at the back of the sunroof and worked its way to the front near my head. Totally random and unexpected and happened for no reason. I read that now the ceiling/roof is compromised and in a rollover I am not protected from the glass falling in on myself or my children.

I HAVE A 2016 FORD EDGE, WHICH HAS A PANORAMIC SUNROOF AND MOON ROOF. MY SUNROOF MOTOR ONLY WORKS HALF THE TIME. IT WILL OPEN WITH NO ISSUES, BUT THEN IN ORDER TO CLOSE IT, IT WILL CLOSE, AND THEN OPEN AGAIN. I HAVE TO CLOSE IT SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT ACTUALLY STAYS CLOSED. I OPENED THE REAR LIFT GATE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND WAS LOADING STUFF INTO THE BACK OF VEHICLE; EITHER I ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE KEY FOB IN MY POCKET OR MY FOOT TRIGGERED THE AUTOMATIC OPEN/CLOSE SENSOR AND THE LIFTGATE BEGAN CLOSING ON ME AND WOULD NOT STOP EVEN ONCE IT FELT PRESSURE FROM HITTING AN OBJECT (ME). JUST NOTICED A LARGE CRACK DEVELOP IN THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF - FRONT PANEL. UNFORTUNATELY I DO NOT REMEMBER THE EXACT DATE. THE CRACK STARTED SMALL AND SPREAD INTO DIFFERENT CRACKS COVERING A GOOD PORTION OF THE SUNROOF. NO EVIDENCE OF ROCK OR IMPACT. CRACKS APPEAR TO BE STRESS RELATED THOUGH I AM NOT AN EXPERT. CALLED FORD DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THIS IS NOT COVERED AS VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. MY VEHICLE IS A 2016 FORD EDGE SPORT WITH 25K MILES. GIVEN A VERBAL ESTIMATE THAT THE PART WOULD COST $1K AND LABOR JUST SHY OF $2K FOR A TOTAL OF $3K. I WILL AGAIN REINFORCE THAT THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT OR IMPACT AND THE CRACK APPEARED ONE MORNING AND HAVE GROWN. I AM LOOKING TO SELL THE CAR AND THIS IS IMPACTING THE FINAL PRICE I AM TRYING TO NEGOTIATE.

WE HAVE A 2016 EDGE AND SHORTLY AFTER DRIVING WE OPENED THE VISTA ROOF NOTICED A A LONG CRACK THAT RAN COMPLETELY FROM ONE SIDE OF THE MOVABLE WINDOW TO THE OTHER. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A STONE CHIP BUT HAVING LOOKED AT BLUE OVAL.COM I SEE THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ADDRESSED BY FORD AND ALSO IGNORED. SO WE NOW HAVE TO PAY FOR THE WINDOW REPLACEMENT EVEN THOUGH IT APPEARS IT IS A PRODUCTION PROBLEM. I NOW HAVE TO PAY THE PRICE FOR THEIR LACK OF ENGINEERING AND QUALITY CONTROL.

POWER LIFT GATE WILL NOT OPEN SOMETIMES. YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE COMPUTER, DISABLE THE LIFTGATE AND ENABLE THE LIFTGATE. SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO DO IT TWICE. FOUND THE TEMP FIX ON GOOGLE. MY FORD DEALER KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM.

WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH NEAR MY HOME, I HEARD A LOUD NOISE ON THE ROOF OF THE VEHICLE. I PULLED OVER TO SEE IF SOMETHING STRUCK THE ROOF. NOTHING ON THE GROUND AT ALL. WHEN I GOT HOME, I GOT ON A LADDER TO INSPECT THE ROOF. THE REAR GLASS PANEL WAS CRACKED ALL OVER. MY INSURER STATED IT WAS STRUCK BY A FOREIGN OBJECT. I WENT ONLINE TO CARGURU AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ROOF GLASS (PANORAMIC ROOF). THEY ALL CRACKED WITHOUT BEING STRUCK BY ANY FOREIGN OBJECT. THERE IS ALSO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST FORD FOR NOT ISSUING A RECALL. THE PANELS ARE MADE OF LAMINATED GLASS, WHICH, ACCORDING TO FORD, MAKES THE GLASS MUCH MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO BREAK. FORD NOW ONLY MAKES TEMPERED GLASS ROOF PANELS, WHICH ARE STRONGER. THIS, TO ME, IS AN ADMISSION OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROBLEM WITHOUT ISSUING...

THE STATIONARY PART OF MY VISTA GLASS SUNROOF CRACKED. THERE IS NO SIGN OF IMPACT AND IT LOOKS LIKE A STRESS CRACK. FORD IS NOT WILLING TO REPLACE IT BECAUSE I AM 1 MONTH OUTSIDE THE 3 YR WARRANTY WINDOW. I LOOKED ONLINE AND I SEE THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHERS WITH THIS SAME CRACKING ISSUE.

CAN'T GET THE LIFT GATE TO OPEN

HANDS FREE LIFTGATE IS DANGEROUS. WHILE PUTTING GROCERIES IN BACK AND REARRANGING THINGS I TRIGGERED THE HANDS FREE LIFTGATE. THE GATE DID NOT STOP COMING DOWN WHEN I TRIED TO STOP IT WITH MY HAND AS IT WAS CLOSING. I GOT OUT OF THE WAY AS IT SLAMMED SHUT. THE GATE DOES NOT RESPOND WHEN AN OBJECT IS PUT IN ITS PATH, LIKE A GARAGE DOOR DOES. IT NEEDS TO! MY 83 YEAR OLD MOTHER HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO HER (SHE HAS A 2019 EDGE)AND LUCKILY I WAS THERE AND WAS ABLE TO PUSH HER OUT OF THE WAY AND SHIELD HER HEAD. SHE NOW WILL ONLY PUT THINGS IN HER BACK SEAT, BECAUSE SHE IS AFRAID OF ACTIVATING THAT HANDS FREE LIFTGATE. WE BOTH HAD OUR KEYS IN OUR PURSE/ POCKET. THE MOON ROOF GLASS IS CRACKING. NO POINT OF IMPACT. THE CAR WAS NOT HIT BY ANY FOREIGN OBJECT. WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION, THE SPIDER WEBBING CRACKS GET WORSE.

WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKES FAILED, PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I COULD NOT STOP. DEALER SAID FRONT BRAKE LINES HAD FAILED, ONE BURST AND THE OTHER HAD A LARGE BUBBLE IN THE LINE. VEHICLE HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT. SECOND PROBLEM IS WITH COMPUTER SCREEN, WHILE DRIVING ALL THE SYSTEMS CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER START FAILING ONE AFTER ANOTHER, AFFECTING SAFETY SYSTEMS CONTROLLED BY THE COMPUTER. WHEN DEALER REPAIRED IT THEY SAID THE INTERFACE TO THE COMPUTER SCREEN WAS DEFECTIVE.

INTERNAL LEAK FROM OIL VALVE/SWITCH ALLOWED FUMES TO LEAK INTO THE CAR FOR MONTHS AND MONTHS AND EXPOSED THE DRIVER TO TOXINS; BLOOD WORK REVEALED HIGH LEVELS OF MTBS; SYMPTOMS INCLUDE EXTREME EXHAUSTION, VISION AND COGNITIVE PROBLEMS, BALANCE ISSUES ITCHY SKIN, AND MORE. FIRST, THE FUMES SHOULD NEVER LEAK INTO THE CAR, SECOND, THE FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID IT WAS OK TO DRIVE WHILE THEY ORDERED A PART, AND IT WAS NOT OK TO DRIVE BECAUSE IT WAS POISONING THE DRIVER. THE CAR HAS NOW BEEN FIXED, THE DRIVER'S RECOVERY IS ONGOING.

WHEN FLAT TOWING BEHIND RV VEHICLE GOES INTO A WOBBLE. ONLY WAY TO STOP THE WOBBLE IS TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. HAPPENED WHEN ENTERING ROAD FROM SHOULDER ALSO ON A ROUGH UNEVEN ROAD. HAPPENED AT SLOW SPEED 10 TO 20 MPH.

FOUND MOON ROOF TO BE CRACKED.

THE SYNC3 NAVIGATION SYSTEM STOPS RESPONDING AT DIFFERENT TIMES WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLES NAVIGATION, RADIO, HEAT CONTROLS BECOME INOPERABLE. THE FUNCTIONALITY MAY BE RETURNED AFTER A REBOOT OF THE SYSTEM. THIS HAPPENS WHEN BOTH PARKED AND WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS.

SUNROOF GLASS CRACKED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. ONE DAY IT WAS FINE, NEXT DAY IT WAS CRACKED. I TOOK TO FORD DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME $1,000 TO REPAIR AND THAT THEY USE 3RD PARTY TO REPAIR. MY CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THEY SAID IT IS NOT COVERED. I DID RESEARCH AND MANY OTHERS HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE.

I OPENED THE SUNROOF COVER AND IT REVEALED A LARGE CRACK IN THE GLASS. I'VE ALREADY HAD THE SUNROOF REPLACED ONCE UNDER WARRANTY FROM FORD FOR A SIMILAR CRACK.
