MY RADIO HAS A SHORT IN THE HARDWARE. FACTORY INSTALLED RADIO AND IT WILL TURN OFF AND TURN BACK ON REPETITIVELY SOME DAYS, NOT ALLOWING ME TO UTILIZE SYNC. TRANSMISSION HAS STARTED KICKING INTERMITTENTLY FOR THE PAST MONTH. WHILE DRIVING AND SLOWING DOWN.
AS EVERYONE ELSE, LOSES ACCELERATION, SHUT OFF AND IT SEEMS FINE LATER. HIGH RPM NO POWER, AS IF IT CANT SHIFT. NO ERROR LIGHTS, SHAKING ALONG WITH SPUTTERING WHEN IT HAS A LOAD.....VERY DANGEROUS AS I DRIVE MAJOR HIGHWAY DAILY. HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY NOW
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE ODOMETER AND AIR BAG INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE SPEEDOMETER WAS AT ZERO. THE CONTACT DROVE TO A STOP SIGN AND ROLLED TO SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO A FUEL STATION AND THEN TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. A LOCAL DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND ASKED THAT THE VEHICLE BE BROUGHT TO THE SHOP FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BATTERY WAS CORRODED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
THE BLINKERS STOP WORKING. YOU DO NOT KNOW THIS UNTIL COP STOPS YOU. UPON INSPECTION I FOUND THAT THE SOCKET HAD MELTED AND HAD THAT MOLTED LOOK TO THEM. THE LIGHT BULBS HAD BURNT OUT. THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO SINCE IT IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. HERE IS ANOTHER COMPLAINT IN YOUR RECORDS REAGARDING THE SAME ISSUE- CRASH:NO FIRE:NO NUMBER OF INJURIES:0 NUMBER OF DEATHS:0 MANUFACTURER: FORD MOTOR COMPANY VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NO. (VIN): 2FMDK38C48B... SUMMARY: REAR TURN LIGHT SOCKETS BURN UP WITH NO WARNING LIGHT TO DISPLAY THAT YOUR REAR LIGHTS NO LONGER WORK. YOU DO NOT KNOW UNTIL THE POLICE PULLS YOU OVER TO TELL YOU WHICH CAN RESULT IN FINES. I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE BOTH REAR LIGHT SOCKETS (APPROX. $150)
WHEN I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ALL OF A SUDDEN MY AIRBAG AND WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAVE NO SPEEDOMETER OR TACHOMETER READING. IF I PULLED OVER AND STARTING DRIVING AGAIN I HAD VERY LITTLE PICKUP EVEN THOUGH THE RPMS WERE OVER 2,000. THERE IS ALSO A VERY LOUD CLUNK WHEN YOU PUT IT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE.

THE CONTACT MANEUVERED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED IT AFTER TEN MINUTES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN ABNORMAL SOUND EMITTED FROM THE TRANSMISSION AREA AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO THE DRIVE POSITION AND OPERATED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JERK AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION COIL EXPLODED AND DAMAGED THE PCM. MULTIPLE COILS AND THE PCM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,781.
AFTER DRIVING FOR A WHILE (ROUGHLY A FEW HOURS) THE EDGE DOES THIS HARD JERK FORWARD THAT FEELS LIKE I'M PRACTICALLY BEING REAR ENDED. IT'S LIKE A HARD PAUSE, BEFORE IT JERKS FORWARD. THEN IT GRADUALLY ACCELERATES. ALSO, ON A FEW OCCASIONS, WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, THE EDGE DID NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE THOUGH I WAS PRESSING ON THE GAS. MIND YOU, I WASN'T GOING FAST BECAUSE I HAD BARELY PULLED OUT OF THE PARKING STALL WHEN THIS OCCURRED. IT BARELY ACCELERATED THEN GRADUALLY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE IN DRIVE. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHILE I WAS EXITING THE FREEWAY ONCE. I INITIALLY THOUGHT MY BATTERY WAS THE PROBLEM, BUT I HAD IT REPLACED THE FOLLOWING MORNING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. THIS WAS THE SAME RESPONSE I GOT WHEN I'VE TAKEN IT TO FORD...
AC PROBLEMS QUIT COOLING.
DRIVERS SIDE REAR TURN SIGNAL BULB MELTED THE SOCKET FROM EXCESSIVE HEAT.

WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE WOULD LOSE POWER AND ACCELERATION, AND JERK IN ADDITION, THE AIR BAG AND TIRE PRESSURE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED, THE ODOMETER GAUGE FAILED TO PROVIDE THE ACTUAL READING, AND ERROR CODE (ODO) INDICATED A DATA ERROR WITH NO MILEAGE. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO COULD NOT REPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE CODE OUTPUT SHAFT SENSOR CIRCUIT AND THE OUTPUT SHAFT SENSOR (NO SIGNAL P0722) SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TSSO SENSOR WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,276.
I HAVE HAD TO CONSTANTLY REPLACE THE BULB FOR THE DRIVER SIDE LIGHT ENCLOSURE. THE BULB BLOWS OUT SHORTLY AFTER REPLACING. MOST RECENTLY IT WAS CHANGED ON APRIL 4TH AND BLEW OUT APRIL 6TH
SAME COMPLAINTS AS PLENTY OF OTHERS. DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 65 MPH AND THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS UP WITH *ODO ERROR*, THE LITTLE SCREWDRIVER LIGHT CAME ON, SHOWS LOW TIRE PRESSURE, THE SEATBELT/AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ODOMETER STAYED AT ZERO. I COULDN'T ACCELERATE AND WHEN I PARKED IT, RESTARTED IT AND TRIED TO CHANGE GEARS IT SHOOK THE CAR SO HARD AND WAS SO LOUD IT COULD BE HEARD INSIDE THE BUILDING. SOMETHING IS TERRIBLY WRONG WITH THIS MODEL / YEAR OF VEHICLE AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAS HAPPENED TO MY CAR. THE FIRST TIME IT RESET ITSELF SO THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. SO NOW IF I PAY TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A SHOP AND IT RESETS ITSELF BEFORE THEY CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, WHICH IS LOOKS AS IF NOBODY CAN...
SAME COMPLAINT AS DOZENS OF OTHER 2008 FORD EDGE OWNERS. ODO ERROR COMES UP, ALMOST ALL WARNING LIGHTS COME ON, TACH AND SPEEDOMETER GO TO ZERO AND CAR IS STUCK IN GEAR MAKING IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BUT IS STARTING TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY AND USUALLY ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS CLEARLY A DANGEROUS DEFECT THAT FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS ASAP BEFORE PEOPLE ARE SERIOUSLY INJURED.
BOUGHT MY 2008 EDGE IN 2012 AND EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH ODO READ ERROR MESSAGE AND LOSS OF POWER SHORTLY THERE AFTER. IT HAPPENS MOST FREQUENTLY ON THE FREEWAY AT HIGHER RATES OF SPEED (60- 70 MPH). I HAVE HAD TO PULL OFF THE FREEWAY MULTIPLE TIMES AND RESTART THE CAR. HAVE HEARD FROM A FEW THAT THE SENSORS IN THE TRANSMISSION ARE SHORTING OUT BUT HAVE HEARD OTHER THINGS AS WELL. DEALERS REFUSES TO LOOK INTO PROBLEM AND STATES SINCE LIGHT IS NOT ON THAT THEY CANNOT READ THE CODE. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS THE VEHICLE IS HARD TO KEEP SPEED AND GAIN SPEED ONCE THIS LIGHT COMES ON.

THE CONTACT PLACED THE GEAR IN PARK AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE LATER RESTARTED. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER WHO REQUESTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE BROUGHT IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND TRANSFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,700.
BACK HATCH DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON EVEN WHEN CLOSED. THE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON FOR A LONG TIME AS A RESULT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT A WARNING LIGHT KEPT RANDOMLY FLASHING FOR THE DOOR SENSOR, WHICH INDICATED THAT THE DOOR WAS NOT SHUT WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED AND VISE VERSA FOR ALL FOUR DOORS. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO ENTER THE VEHICLE UNLESS THE CONTACT MANUALLY UNLOCKED THE DOORS FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE INTERNAL DOME LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED AS THE FAILURE PROGRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON AFTER CLOSING THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES. ONCE LIGHTS FINALLY GO OUT, IT WILL POP RIGHT ON AGAIN, EVEN AS I WAS DRIVING. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, BECAUSE WE'LL NEVER KNOW WHEN THE DOORS ARE AJAR. EVEN BIGGER ISSUE IS THE DOORS NOT BEING UNLOCKED IN THE PROCESS. JUST ANNOYED WITH THIS ALLTOGETHER. HOPEFULLY SOMETHING WILL BE DONE ABOUT IT. IT'S DRAINING THE BATTERY IN THE PROCESS. THANK YOU.
OUR VEHICLE BEGAN TO STUTTER WHILE DRIVING DOWN A 4 LANE HIGHWAY AND THEN SUDDENLY TURNED OFF WHILE CAR WAS STILL IN DRIVE AND IN MOTION. ONCE THE ENGINE TURNED OFF ON ITS OWN THE POWER STEERING DID NOT WORK MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STEER TO THE SIDE OF ROAD. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP PROBLEM WAS NOTED AS A FAULTY PCM WHICH CAUSED THE COILS TO OVERHEAT AND CAUSE BOTH THE PCM AND COIL TO FAIL. COILS WAS SEVERELY MELTED FROM OVERHEATING AND MAY HAVE EVENTUALLY CAUGHT ON FIRE. FORD WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM AND STATES THAT THE MANUFACTURE DATE WAS ACKNOWLEDGED IN A TSB 14-0059 BUT THAT THERE IS NO RESPONSIBILITY OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY END. COST TO REPAIR WAS $3000 DUE TO TSB STATING THAT CUSTOMER NEEDS TO REPLACE ALL COILS AND PCM WITH A UNIT THAT DOES NOT CAUSE OVERHEATING AND LOSS OF POWER TO...
AUTO TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT, ENGINE REVS AND NO POWER, WRENCH LIGHT AIRBAG WARNING LIGHTS,DEAD SPEEDO, ODOMETER SHOWS DASHES. HAD TRANS FLUID CHANGED. NO HELP. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL PROBLEMS NOTED ON THE INTERNET. DEALERS ARE NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM BY REBUILDING THE TRANS FOR SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS. THE TRANS FAILING SHOULD NOT AFFECT THE VARIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS INCIDENT. THE SYSTEM WILL RESET IF THE ENGINE IS TURNED OFF AND THEN RESTARTED WITH NOTHING INDICATING A PROBLEM. THERE DOESNT APPEAR TO BE ANY CODES SET. I URGE FORD TO EMBRACE THESE PROBLEMS BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT BECAUSE THE TRANS "JUMPS" OUT OF GEAR AND CAUSES AN ACCIDENT. THIS REPORTED PROBLEM SHOULD NOT BE "NEWS" TO YOUR COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT. I HAVE CHOSEN TO ALWAYS PREFER A FORD PRODUCTS DURING MY 50 YEARS OF DRIVING AND EXPECT AN HONEST, THOROUGH AND CONCISE INVESTIGATION BE GIVEN TO THIS PROBLEM.
BENEATH THE DRIVERS SEAT, THERE IS A LOUD SOUND THAT RESIGNATES THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE. ALSO THE ELECTRICAL PANEL HAD TO BE REPLACED AND SENSORS GO OFF PERIODICALLY.
ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT DOOR AJAR LIGHT WAS STAYING ON AND WOULD NOT GO AWAY EVEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED. WE HAVE BEEN ALL KINDS OF OTHER PROBLEMS RELATED TO THIS PROBLEM SUCH AS DOOR CHIMES GOING OFF RANDOMLY ALL THE TIME THE DOME LIGHTS WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN CAR IS PARKED AND SHUT OFF. THE NOISE AND LIGHTS ARE A MAJOR DISTRACTION. THE OTHER PROBLEM WE HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH THE VEHICLE BUT HAVE HAD FIXED IS THE TWO REAR WHEEL BEARINGS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE FIRST WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY 36,000 PLUS OR MINUS A THOUSAND OR TWO AND THE OTHER WHEN WE ONLY HAD 60,000 MILES ON VEHICLE. THIS IS EXPENSIVE AND SHOULD NOT GO BAD IN THAT SHORT OF TIME. WE DO NOT PULL ANYTHING WITH THE VEHICLE OR DRIVE IT ROUGH.

AS I WAS DRIVING, DASH FLASHED "ODO DATA ERROR", THEN WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON FOLLOWED BY AIRBAG, TPM, ENGINE LIGHT, BASICALLY ALL WARNING LIGHTS, ODOMETER WENT TO ZERO, LOSS OF ACCELARATION, PULLED OVER AND PLACED IN PARK, CAR WAS REVVING HIGH, TURNED CAR OFF AND RESTARTED, SAME, PUT ON DRIVE, STEPPED ON GAS, CAR REVVED BUT NO MOVEMENT. TURNED CAR OFF AND WAITED COUPLE MINUTES, RESTATED, WARNING LIGHTS DISAPPEARED, ODOMETER BACK TO ACTUAL MILEAGE. PUT ON DRIVE, STEP ON GAS, HESITATION THEN LOUD TRANSMISSION THUMP AND CAR STARTED MOVING AGAIN.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STOPPED WORKING. THE ODOMETER DROPPED TO ZERO WHILE I MAINTAINED A STEADY SPEED ALONG WITH GAUGE MEASURING RPM. OD DATA ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED. AIRBAG LIGHT AND TIRE PRESSURE LIGHTS CAME ON AS WELL. THE ACCELERATION IMMEDIATELY DID NOT FEEL RIGHT. FROM A STOP I HAD VERY WEAK ACCELERATION ALMOST NONE. IT IMPROVED AS I DROVE BUT DID NOT FEEL NORMAL.

THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE ENGINE WAS SHUT OFF AND ATTEMPTED TO BE RESTARTED. THE ENGINE STARTED TO MAKE AN ABNORMAL POPPING SOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000.

THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER REQUESTING INFORMATION ON NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V128000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
I WAS DRIVING BETWEEN 40-45 MPH ON A MAIN ROAD JUST AFTER 12 AM WHEN THE DASHBOARD LIT UP. THE CHECK ENGINE/WRENCH & AIRBAG LIGHTS CAME ON, THE ODOMETER DISPLAYED AN 'ODO DATA ERROR' MESSAGE (NO MILEAGE), & THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE DROPPED TO 0 MPH DESPITE STILL TRAVELING AT 40-45 MPH (I RELIED ON MY CELL PHONE'S GPS FOR MY TRAVELING SPEED). THE VEHICLE WAS RESPONSIVE, BRAKING, ACCELERATING, & DECELERATING NORMALLY, AS I LOOKED FOR SOMEWHERE TO PULL OVER. I CAME TO A FULL STOP AT A RED LIGHT & WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I PUSHED DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NEARLY UNRESPONSIVE. I FULLY PUSHED DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL BUT THE CAR ONLY GAINED ENOUGH SPEED TO CRAWL THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT JUST PAST THE INTERSECTION, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, SHUT IT OFF, & WAITED 5 MINUTES...
REAR TURN SIGNAL AND BRAKE LIGHT OVERHEATED AND STARTED TO MELT THE BULB AND CONNECTORS. *TR
THE LEFT REAR TURN SIGNAL STOPPED WORKING. AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE I DISCOVERED IT WAS A COMMONLY REPORTED PROBLEM. UPON REMOVING THE LENS ASSEMBLY I NOTICED THE SAME THING OTHERS ARE REPORTING. THE PLASTIC BASE OF THE BULB IS MELTED. THE BULB IS STILL GOOD HOWEVER. THE BULB SOCKET IS CHARRED OBVIOUSLY FROM EXCESSIVE HEAT. NOTHING ELSE INCLUDING THE RUBBER GASKET AROUND THE SOCKET SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THIS HEAT. *TR
1ST OCCURRENCE: THE VEHICLE'S SPEEDOMETER WENT TO 0 AND WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. AS THE VEHICLE SLOWED AND I TRIED TO ACCELERATE OUT OF TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. IT SEEMED TO BE STUCK IN A HIGH GEAR. I SAT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS ALMOST ROBBED WHILE I WAS WAITING ON MY HUSBAND TO ARRIVE FOR HELP. DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT COMES ON SO DOORS WON'T LOCK, DOME LIGHT WON'T GO OUT AND NOTHING WILL SHOW UP ON THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY. *TR
THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS. ONCE AT 45 MPH, ONCE AT 60 MPH. SPEEDOMETER GOES TO ZERO DESPITE MAINTAINING SPEED. DISPLAY SHOWS OD DATA ERROR. AIRBAG, TIRE PRESSURE, AND WRENCH LIGHTS COME ON. PULL OVER, TURN OFF ENGINE. RESTART. RESET BUTTON. TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE IT IS IN A HIGHER GEAR, SHIFTS HARD LITTLE ACCELERATION POWER.. TOOK MY VEHICLE IN EARLY FOR SERVICE AT SUNRISE BECAUSE WAS CONCERNED ABOUT LOUD SCREECHING NOISE ON BRAKES AND ERRATIC BEHAVIOR OF VEHICLE -SURGING. WHEN DRIVING. WHEN THE SERVICE TECH (TROY) OPENED THE HOOD HE ASKED EM TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND STAND BACK, AS THE TOP OF THE BATTERY WAS SPATTERED WITH BLACK OIL LOOKING MATERIAL AND APPARENTLY HE AND ANOTHER TECHNICIAN WERE CONCERNED IT MIGHT RUPTURE OR EXPLODE. THEY ASKED EM TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE, GIVE THEM THE KEYS AND THAT THEY WOULD CHECK THE VEHICLE AND ASKED ME TO WAIT. ABOUT 90 MINUTES LATER THEY CAME OUT AND SAID ALL WAS FINE, NOTHING WRONG WITH BATTERY OR BRAKES. I LEFT AND DROVE VEHICLE HOME AND SAME PROBLEMS WERE OCCURRING, I RETURNED AND AFTER CALLING AND SAYING SAME THINGS WERE OCCURRING. THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING IS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH AND THE DOOM LIGHTS WONT TURN OFF. I HAVE FOUND OUT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH FORDS WHERE THE POORLY DESIGNED DOOR LATCH BINDS UP. I HAD THIS SAME ISSUE WITH MY 2002 EXPLORER AND NOW WITH MY 2008 EDGE. IT BECOMES A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AT NIGHT SINCE THE DOME LIGHTS WILL NOT TURN OFF SO IT IS HARD TO SEE OUTSIDE AND COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. WHEN DRIVING ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TRUCK SPEEDOMETER GOES BLANK, THE ODOMETER DROPS TO ZERO AND THE WRENCH, AIRBAG AND EVENTUALLY THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE. WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR STRUGGLES TO ACCELERATE BECAUSE IT STARTS LOSING POWER. I THEN HAVE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD, TURN THE CAR OFF AND ALLOW THE CAR TO RESET ITSELF. I TURN THE CAR ON, THE LIGHTS ARE OUT BUT WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE THERE IS STILL LITTLE POWER SO I HAVE TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR AN THEN THE POWER KICKS IN AND THE CAR OPERATES NORMAL. I PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. I WAS DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS AT ABOUT 35 MPH WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO BE SLIPPING AND THE WRENCH CAME ON THE DASH AND THE CAR LOST ALL POWER .
